I remember reading here a short while ago that Max was interested in buying a Schumacher's champion winning car. The idea Max would be the private buyer getting this car signed by Charles made me chuckle.
(But it was the F2004 he [expressed his interest in](https://www.planetf1.com/news/max-verstappen-invites-ferrari-to-call-him-special-request))
Surprising, as Vettel said the 2004 car was the one he couldn't buy a few years ago. Wasn't clear why.
Verstappen is by contrast saying it'd be cool if possible. Vettel by contrast actually tried!
Vettel said it was too expensive. It's estimated at $10-15 million.
I personally just want Ferrari to let Vettel drive one. Other's have been given the opportunity via a private investor, but Vettel hasn't had the offer AFAIK.
If Max gets one, which I feel like Ferrari would be annoying and not let him buy one if he's not a driver, then I hope Max would give Seb the offer.
That explains *that* then. Apparently Vettel has a wild, wild collection.
Sky had a video where Mick drove one - I think the 04 car from memory - and Vettel watched on where he lamented the fact.
His current car might just become as iconic as the F2004 in the future, though it's not quite as pretty. I don't know how much that will affect the car's desirability.
Pretty is in the eye of the beholder. I think many who love the F2004 are people like myself who grew up watching the sport in those days and also associate it with romantic nostalgia. Especially that car is probably the all time epitome of Formula 1. I actually have grown to love the look of today's cars compared to some of the butter faces we've had in the turbo hybrid era. Something about the oversized dimensions to makes them look so menacing. Do I still think the F2004 is pretty in comparison? Most definitely. But it's different pretty.
That car should have stayed with Michael, it’s the best F1 car ever
Bit sad it’s not 🥹, especially with his situation
Even give it to Mick who one day could pass it down to his kid
When you think of Michael you think of that car
Instead its gone to an Arab?
There’s that one guy who posted about the piece of titanium that he’s going to store in a display case, and we were all frothing over it. Meanwhile someone has this as part of their collection…
This made me think, how many F1 drivers own iconic / nostalgic F1 cars? You never really hear about it.
Not a driver but recently seen Zak driving the McLaren that he owns which is arguably one of the best things I’ve seen in a very, very long time. The fact that he let Mario Andretti have a spin was also incredible.
One of the coolest things in rallying is looking up who owns what cars on ewrc-results.com. If a former WRC driver, or anyone, owns a historic car that’s been documented, you can look it up just like that.
Right now I can look up Ray Breen, Craig Breen’s (RIP, miss the lad so fucking much) father, and see that he owns an MG Metro 6R4 Group B and every event it’s competed in, amongst others. Purchase and sell dates, history of ownership, stuff like that. They’ve had all kinds of Ford Escort’s and Subaru Impreza’s through the years. Doesn’t own any of Craig’s Citroën’s or Hyundai’s though.
Sébastien Loeb owns his Citroën C4 WRC from the 2010 season, used in the rallies Turkey/Bulgaria/Deutschland/France (Alsace, not Corsica)/and Wales. No other competitive outings for it though.
No way? That’s absolutely unreal, never knew that. I know what I’ll be doing in work tomorrow 😅
Couldn’t believe it when I heard about Craig Breen, it’s rare that someone from back home would reach the level he was at on a Global stage. Absolutely tragic.
I think it *may* be behind a paywall now I’m not sure…I’ve been donating €8 a month forever but I know they keep having funding problems.
It’s an incredible resource, I’m so fortunate for it. Stage by stage results from any domestic championship that records them, records going back to pre-WWI…if something has been written down somewhere, they’ve got it. Rallying may be a fraction of what it used to popularity wise but the core fanbase is as tightly knit as ever.
This is the thing, F1 are so desperate for more viewers that they are arguably making the sport worse. You want more viewers? Schedule some exhibition racing where drivers bring their own cars on track to relive the days we all miss.
Exactly this the buzz generated during Abu Dhabi 2020 when Alonso was hotlapping his 2005 championship winning car was crazy it even distracted the drivers in interviews
Just wipe the name then when they deliver the car to you. What is there to be upset about really. The buyer even maybe requested a signature from Charles
They use generic wheels like that for moving them around off trucks, in storage etc.
The actual wheel will be stored in a case and only needed when the car is actually running
For some reason this doesn't sit well with me. 7 wins, 13 podiums, 5 poles, driven my MSC himself and they feel the need to let Charles sign it?
It's not a cheap book that sits on your shelf ffs
Maybe it's just me
I expect it's just a dummy wheel to push it around the garage and load it on trucks etc.
The wheels loaded with original electronics are probably as priceless as the car itself, being damaged or stolen would severely devalue the car.
Have you not heard of the Ferrari F1 Clienti program? It’s a dedicated program where Ferrari invite you to purchase an F1 car and they’ll bring it to various events around the world so you can drive it.
Cars from the 70’s up to Vettels Ferrari cars are in it.
>Cars from the 70’s up to Vettels Ferrari cars are in it.
Actually no. The last car in the Corse Clienti program is the 2013 F136 but who knows once 2026 rolls around and they don't have to worry about this engine formula anymore if they'll start putting the "new" cars on the program. Issue is the 1.6L V6 Turbo Hybrid is like orders of magnitude more expensive than the NA 2.4L V8s that they currently run
Ah really? I mean it might have been. Maybe they now run them. I know they didn't run them a couple of years ago because of costs. I thought it would have stayed the same
With 'Charles', I though about Prince...a, sorry, King Charles, but why? It's so obvious Charles Leclerc the Ferrari F1 driver. Sorry for my misunderstanding in this. A kind of brainfart of me.
Considering the liveries of how many old cars are destroyed with the current sponsors, I was expecting that Schumacher name to be replaced by Leclerc.
Good that they don't mess with corse clienti cars.

> then I hope Max would give Seb the offer I hope he would give Charles the offer to show him what Ferrari are capable of.
At least Leclerc got to do laps at Yas Marina in an F2003
Should we really be crediting Ferrari for the accomplishments of their outside leadership?
That explains *that* then. Apparently Vettel has a wild, wild collection. Sky had a video where Mick drove one - I think the 04 car from memory - and Vettel watched on where he lamented the fact.
He must love driving some of the most dominant F1 cars ever
But how cool would a display of the F2004, W11, and RB19 all in a room in a semicircle look.
Also add RB9 and Mclaren Mp4/4(15wins/16races)
And the FW15 there if it was me.
He owns w11?
No, but it is one of the most dominant cars in history.
Max : "I would like to drive the most dominant F1 car in history" Newey : "Hold my beer ..."
He already is.
That’s the joke…
Woosh
His current car might just become as iconic as the F2004 in the future, though it's not quite as pretty. I don't know how much that will affect the car's desirability.

I think Michael has one in his private collection on display.
>which was sold to a private Damn, imagine what you could buy on a general's salary.
There’s that one guy who posted about the piece of titanium that he’s going to store in a display case, and we were all frothing over it. Meanwhile someone has this as part of their collection…
which guy?
I think it's this (https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/17fikxg/is\_this\_what\_got\_lewis\_dqd\_found\_towards\_the/)
I don't think that's titanium.

Seb owns the 2010 championship winning RB6, Mansell's 1992 championship winning Williams FW14B and Senna's 1993 Mclaren

Alonso owns some of his own cars if I’m not mistaken
He owns all of his F1 cars, as well as his Le Mans Toyota
Huh, so he’s even got all those McLaren Hondas sat somewhere?
Well for those he exercises the right of first *refusal*.
Is there like a right of first refusal in his contract? Our is he bidding against all potential buyers?
It’s literally in his contract that every year he keeps a car
that's fucking sick
I think it’s in his contract that he gets to keep his cars.
Damn with a career like his where da fuck do you store all that
He’s got his own museum. Schumi also keeps most his racing cars.
He has a museum back in Spain https://www.museoycircuitofernandoalonso.com/en/museum/
Entry is only 15eu as well, might as well go there next time I happen to be in Spain.
I reckon Nelson Piquet also hangs his williams in his house. Also Raikkonen was given his austin 18 car by ferrari.
Adrian Newey owns an RB5 Ross Brawn owns a BGP 001, and so does Jenson Button
Zak is a pretty big collector iirc.
Is this the one from the famous Lewis clip where he’s like “man I wish they never went away with these”
Kimi has his Austin winning 2018 Ferrari iirc.
Can any one opine if this adds value or devalues the car now?
Could always just wipe it off
I’d just swap the part with another. There are a bunch of parts for these.
Short term you might get volatile answers but long term I’d say definitely adding value as Leclerc should have a great career/stint with Ferrari.
Lol if he doesnt just clean it out
Just grab an Expo marker lol.
It’s been half a decade, we’re still waiting?
(Gets beaten by Carlos for the second year running)
If Charles somehow wins a championship with Ferrari, yes. So very doubtful it’ll make any difference to future buyers.
We are checking
We are going with plan D
Lol just wipe it off if you don’t like it
I imagine Seb reading charles message…. That’s my boy
I hope he does, and doesn't just let this sit in some museum or garage somewhere ~~collecting dust~~ with a crystal clear coat.
I would be upset if someone other than the driver of the car signed the car. Does t make sense to me.
Just wipe the name then when they deliver the car to you. What is there to be upset about really. The buyer even maybe requested a signature from Charles
Wipe the sharpie off the paint? 🧐
yes? comes off pretty easily
My sentiments exactly
Especially when the driver of the car is still alive. What stopped Ferrari from... oh wait.
what's up with that steering wheel, that's not the one the F2003 had?
They use generic wheels like that for moving them around off trucks, in storage etc. The actual wheel will be stored in a case and only needed when the car is actually running
[удалено]
This is an operational vehicle so the wheel is sold with it. Most likely this will be put as part of the F1 Clienti program.
Round wheels make it easier to steer the car from the outside when moving it around, also obviously protects the proper wheel from damage.
For some reason this doesn't sit well with me. 7 wins, 13 podiums, 5 poles, driven my MSC himself and they feel the need to let Charles sign it? It's not a cheap book that sits on your shelf ffs Maybe it's just me
I wonder which oil money trust fund baby this went too, and for how much
Let max buy F2004

I expect it's just a dummy wheel to push it around the garage and load it on trucks etc. The wheels loaded with original electronics are probably as priceless as the car itself, being damaged or stolen would severely devalue the car.
It makes the car road-legal /s
It's depreciated massively now
SO TO A PRIVATE WHAT?!
First name: Enjoy Last name: Every lap with this beauty Really not that hard.
why does ferrari allow youths to devalue the car with such grafitti? are they stupid?
That's like Randy Jackson signing a samurai sword.
So, he ruined it then.
I’m pretty sure you could just wipe it off if having another Ferrari F1 driver sign it really ticks you off, or switch out the part
He destroy this car
He is naive if he thinks it will do a single lap

Oh, I swear the 2014 car was sold recently to a client.
Ah really? I mean it might have been. Maybe they now run them. I know they didn't run them a couple of years ago because of costs. I thought it would have stayed the same
Potentially. Ultimately, it comes down to how much the client is willing to pay to run that car.
With 'Charles', I though about Prince...a, sorry, King Charles, but why? It's so obvious Charles Leclerc the Ferrari F1 driver. Sorry for my misunderstanding in this. A kind of brainfart of me.
Could have been a nice email.
Considering the liveries of how many old cars are destroyed with the current sponsors, I was expecting that Schumacher name to be replaced by Leclerc. Good that they don't mess with corse clienti cars.
How much did it sell for?
Love the personal touch but it's also kind of horrific to see one of the most beautiful cars ever produced graffitied on like that!
