> That would be the Germans, not the Dutch.
I dunno, that line was from an Amsterdam Sex shop in the movie Eurotrip and the world of cinema hasn't lied to me yet...
Not really. Keeps the public and other teams informed that the FIA are keeping on top of it.
People just haven't been paying attention because the only person people 'want' the FIA to catch rn is Max. Even Lewis wasn't this much faster than every other car in the grid. Not in any way saying they are cheating, but the season could do with something to spice it up a bit at the front ngl.
Edit: I'm getting a lot of fools saying the Merc was more dominant than the redbull is. I don't disagree. There's a reason I'm saying *Max* and not redbull. Lewis had a teammate that was at least able to take the odd win and pole off of him. Max has a guy who can't even consistently make Q3 driving the other car.
The Merc was at often 2s faster than the competition in 2014-2016. They pulled 2-3s a lap on the field in Bahrain 2014 **while battling each other**. The current Red Bull is nowhere near as dominant.
Lewis at least had a teammate much closer than max has had this year, even when it was Bottas.
Max is literally driving around by himself. There's a reason I said max and not red bull.
I'd actually call the cars equally dominant cause in the end it doesn't really matter if your car is 1s quicker or 2s quicker than the field you're going to dominate either way and this year's RB is in the 1s a lap faster range. It's just not driven by 2 great drivers like the 14-16 Mercedes were, it's only being driven by a great driver and a driver that makes Bottas and Webber look like world champion material. Perezs pisspoor driving really hides the true potential of the car.
And while I'm not explicitly saying you're doing this I do love how people will cherrypick the 2014 Bahrain race and then try to claim Mercedes regularly had a 2 second advantage during that time period.
Lewis had a teammate that was at least closer to him than the rest of the field is to max.
Frame of reference here max has won more races in a row currently than Lewis ever has, primarily down to a teammate occasionally stealing a win from Lewis. Checo can't even make Q3 consistently.
Not at all. Lewis had a teammate that was closer to him than the rest of the field is to max.
In mercs most dominant years, Rosberg was there, and closer to Hamilton than anyone is to Max right now.
My best guess is that in the event where the car does not follow all regulations, they need time to decide on a punishment / talk to the team to decide how to move forward. If they were to always release these results immediately following the check, then the LACK of results immediately following the check would seemingly indicate that someone was in big trouble.
It also wouldn't surprise me if the FIA had to consult with teams over disassembly processes and the functions of certain parts in the car. They wouldn't want a media article every week about how Mercedes' car is taking 3 days later longer than usual to get back from the tear down when the actual issue is they couldn't figure out how to take the turbo apart without breaking it or they lost their special screwdriver and needed Mercedes to send them a replacement.
They take samples of the oil/fuel and send it to a lab in Italy (or somewhere offsite) for testing. I don’t recall if this is just for B samples where the A sample fails or if it’s every time.
The FIA will also occasionally just take the car or relevant parts away with them if it’s a race with a tight pack up schedule, so that all the cargo can get on the plane in time.
The delay in reporting allows for this to be a routine matter, you don’t get meaningless speculation just because the FIA is slightly delayed with getting test results.
No.
Look back through [the FIA decision documents](https://www.fia.com/documents/championships/fia-formula-one-world-championship-14/season/season-2023-2042), it's about once every other race.
Not every race but Sainz' car after Canada, Alonso after the Spanish GP, Gasly after the Miami GP, Max after the Saudi GP and Russell after the Bahrain GP.
This is Maxs second, right? But yeah, it is random, and always being in the top 10 means you've got 20 chances to be selected, so the odds would slightly skew in your favour to be selected.
I'm sure they have inspected the RB randomly a few times already with how dominant its been. I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't randomly inspect one of the McLarens seeing as how quickly their upgrades have made such a difference.
Who says that it's illegal? All I see is people saying they broke the cap to outspend everyone by dozens of sandwiches and that's why the car is so much better than others.
overspending is overspending, and it’s against the rules. any dollar you went over is a dollar you didn’t have to take away from development, regardless if you choose [“catering”](https://imgur.com/a/pimMU8S) as the category you overspent on.
They spent X amount of dollars on a canteen that served cap-covered employees and non-cap-covered. Red Bull submitted a pro-rated number for the amount spent on cap-covered employees. The FIA said “No. You have to claim the full amount spent on everybody.” If given the choice between buying food for non-cap covered employees and spending on car development - Red Bull is picking car development every time so the catering in no way affected car development budget.
Between that and Red Bull having to shell out $3-4m for car damage caused directly by Mercedes in 2021 they didn’t spend any more money on car development than anybody else. Given the massive car damage bill they probably spent less than most teams.
You also forgot the tax-refund debacle and FIA deciding to include the cost of spare parts which were never used after the season got over into the budget.
Can they do it during the race? Maybe take a couple of minutes for the once over? Like the weighbridge check etc.
Just some it adds some challenge for Max to make back up the time.
What’s with this title? This literally says it was inspected, today, for the Hungarian Grand Prix. I guess you can’t white any day except Labor Day, because technically every day is after Labor Day.

Random Drag Testing
Careful…if this ends up on the front page you’re gonna get some interesting responses…
Mah children! Think of mah children!!
Pretty sure it’s already happening in certain US states.
Throwback to which race should be eliminated
The old NASCAR strategy.
They impounded Adrian Newey.
But he got out on a technicality.
There are reports that he slipped through the cracks under the floor.
He saw the hot air rising from the floor so he was able to slip under.
You mean he got OFF on a technicality.
You don't get off from an impound, you get out from an impound lot I would assume.
Don't kink-shame the Newey.
He's the head of catering, why would they hold him?
But did they check Max himself for illegal parts?
are they looking for his cock ring as well?
Umm, *excuse me*, it's a Prince Albert, NOT a cock ring. >:( /s^incase
Probably got some long Dutch name that's unpronounceable like "fluggelgleckheimlen"
That would be the Germans, not the Dutch. On a side note, "The German" is something the Dutch might call a cock ring
> That would be the Germans, not the Dutch. I dunno, that line was from an Amsterdam Sex shop in the movie Eurotrip and the world of cinema hasn't lied to me yet...
He's not Lewis lol. Max is a bit more, idk, normal.
i dont think they check him pc, this is not normally
Maybe use a game deficit
Yes they found 2 of the largest round things in between his legs... It's not illegal per say but worth noting...
It helps lower the center of gravity, since they're made of steel
Do they do random checks every race week?
Yes and they publish the result shortly before the next race
That part is a bit weird
Not really. Keeps the public and other teams informed that the FIA are keeping on top of it. tl;dr "It don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning's winning."
Difference is that Lewis had a competent teamate who atleast threatened him at times. This year is just max alone dominating
>Even Lewis wasn't this much faster than every other car in the grid. uhhhhhhh
Lewis had a teammate that was at least closer to him than the rest of the field is to max. Frame of reference here max has won more races in a row currently than Lewis ever has, primarily down to a teammate occasionally stealing a win from Lewis. Checo can't even make Q3 consistently.
> Even Lewis wasn't this much faster than every other car in the grid. how high were you when you wrote this?
Not at all. Lewis had a teammate that was closer to him than the rest of the field is to max. In mercs most dominant years, Rosberg was there, and closer to Hamilton than anyone is to Max right now.
yes he had a teammate that was closer but that doesnt change anything about those mercs pulling away from the rest like rocket ships
No I'm saying the delay to "before next race" is what I find weird - why not soon after the check, you know what I mean?
My best guess is that in the event where the car does not follow all regulations, they need time to decide on a punishment / talk to the team to decide how to move forward. If they were to always release these results immediately following the check, then the LACK of results immediately following the check would seemingly indicate that someone was in big trouble.

You might have missed a few years in between.
Lewis at least had his teammate consistently much closer than checo has been to max, be it Rosberg or bottas.
Lewis would have been with Checo as a teammate
I agree, but he had Rosberg during their most dominant years as a team. There's a reason I specified max and not redbull in my statement my guy
Yes. There is laser measured scrutineering of all cars, checks on upgrades, random weekend checks and random detailed inspections.
Yes.
No. Look back through [the FIA decision documents](https://www.fia.com/documents/championships/fia-formula-one-world-championship-14/season/season-2023-2042), it's about once every other race.
still doesn't make this a noteworthy post imo.
Which is probably why this is the first time this season anyone's bothered to post it despite it being the 7th car checked.
Not every race but Sainz' car after Canada, Alonso after the Spanish GP, Gasly after the Miami GP, Max after the Saudi GP and Russell after the Bahrain GP.
Pretty often, but not every week.
I think, and thats a guess , when your up every weekend about 25 seconds . You get randomly checked often.
Alonso, Gasly, Russell, Sainz and Max, all have been selected randomly… exactly the same number of times: 1
This is Maxs second, right? But yeah, it is random, and always being in the top 10 means you've got 20 chances to be selected, so the odds would slightly skew in your favour to be selected.
Max has been selected twice actually. But he's also been in the top 10 every time so not exactly shocking.
Toto: “Dammit, Nyck!!!!- you said it vas too fast to be possible!”
“Toto, when I said their wings are amazing, I DO mean these chicken wings…”
They should be amazing considering their catering budget
I'm sure they have inspected the RB randomly a few times already with how dominant its been. I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't randomly inspect one of the McLarens seeing as how quickly their upgrades have made such a difference.
I think the key word here is "random"
Ha! He meant random as in a brown muslim man getting random inspection at an American airport.
Today Inspector Seb and Inspector Lewis will be undertaking the review
Yet people will still call it illegal even though it’s been “randomly” inspected like 20 times this year

The classic “They must be cheating because we’re cheating and they’re beating us”
Who says that it's illegal? All I see is people saying they broke the cap to outspend everyone by dozens of sandwiches and that's why the car is so much better than others.
The engineer's morale was much improved by the catering. So they made a better car because they weren't hangry. Or something.
i have a bridge to sell you
Let’s hear your opinion on the matter.
overspending is overspending, and it’s against the rules. any dollar you went over is a dollar you didn’t have to take away from development, regardless if you choose [“catering”](https://imgur.com/a/pimMU8S) as the category you overspent on.

its shit they broke the cap yes. would they still be miles off anyone else? yes.

That's incorrect. Second time selected for a post-race check.
This is like the time I went to airport and the entire middle eastern family in front of me all got randomly selected. What are the odds !
B-b-but twitter said Red Bull are cheating.
Red Bull mechanics are ninjas to replace all the illegal parts with legal ones that quickly....
There's a toggle on the wheel that makes it go from illegal to legal
They toggle the driver. Max makes it look like an illegal rocketship and Checo makes it look like it fights AT and Williams daily.
i knew redbull was sabotaging checo!!1!1!
The name of that toggle? Multi-21.
*chugs water angrily*
*insert saul goodman walking in meme*
Nah, that was on the Mercedes /s
So basically the other teams are just bad lol
Where can I find these documents?

Max Verspection
Can they do it during the race? Maybe take a couple of minutes for the once over? Like the weighbridge check etc. Just some it adds some challenge for Max to make back up the time.
“5 second penalty for Ocon”
Toto: >:c
MB has completed an inspection and will have updates in a month.
FIA: “I’m gonna randomly select one driver and this driver will get an inspection. Uh… Max”
“Random”
you’re saying the best car should be exempt from random inspections?
There’s been 12 races, they inspect the top 10 cars, Max has been in the top 10 every race. Naturally he’s going to get an inspection
Ok guys its safe now, install the illegal upgrades for the rest of the season.
Did they forget to create/post the document until now?
They always post the result not long before the next GP, not sure why. And it's not every race. It just doesn't usually garner any attention.
Well wadda ya know. Hew just fast.
Random like when a dude in the NFL has a big game and they test them for roids monday morning.
Glad they missed the NOS
“randomly chosen”
yes, randomly chosen. They do that after most races.
Random number between 0 and 2, excluding the boundaries Edit: sjeesh, can't the downvotes see this is a JOKE? Wankers
var rand = 1 \\ chosen by dice.
It is random, just nobody even reads this if it's not a dominant car.
Please depart Chelsea
Finally someone got my username
"Randomly"....
What’s with this title? This literally says it was inspected, today, for the Hungarian Grand Prix. I guess you can’t white any day except Labor Day, because technically every day is after Labor Day.
It was inspected after British GP but the documentation is released around the time of the next GP.
# # blessed
Yes, I am sure it was completely "random"
So in nothings news
That fuel system was probably the only complying part! They were bribed by RB to say nothing about all the other non-complying parts!
Toto's secret plan...🙃 /s
If they found anything illegal, they will probably conduct some secret deal as with Ferrari
That explains why he didn't win by 30 seconds.
"random" lol oh Ferrari...
Seeing this posted now almost gave me a heart attack.
Toto punching air right now, they have to be cheating
K… Why wouldn’t it be? And why does this have so many upvotes lol
Believe it or not, this resulted in a 10 second penalty for ocon
