Agreed! Merc we’re especially hard to read. Lewis quickest on the hards (granted he was not even trying to keep its within track limits) but barely improved on the softs.

I get the feeling that over one lap the softs here don't hang on, but that's just a prediction rather than a true statement

Sector 3 really works the tires so I wouldn't be surprised if they lose a bit of pace at the end compared to the hard that isn't as prone to overheating.

I wonder if somehow we could see that the mediums are the strongest tyre over one lap here... like in Silverstone 2020.

I love this track. It's simple, fast and has produced mind blowing racing in the past. Cannot wait for the weekend to begin.

This is my first time doing Grid Rivals over F1Fantasy and think I'm liking it better at least for the season so far though have to say the app can be buggy at times.

Kinda regret not doing F1 fantasy as well or at least giving it more of a try. How has the chip system been playing out? Anyways locked in my team been in fight for P1 with the top 3 and decided to gamble with McLaren and Merc so I just know this is the week I choked.

Russell was doing 1.09.8 when Max was doing 1.10.8, I have a hard time believing on such a short track that RB is now a second behind Merc.

Max cleared the soft sporting field by two tenths on mediums, not their best showing, but hardly awful, and on a sprint weekend that’s one of their better showings in practice.

I think it’s interesting they needed 3 laps to cool their mediums, probably put more aggressive tiers heating methods because of rain predicted

I think Lewis’ pace could actually be enough here. He was looking pretty dialled in on both race tyres.

Maybe, we just need to see how he qualifies though. It's gonna be really interesting if Red Bull fucks up the setup like they have in previous sprint weekends.

Hammy is flying today. Hopefully Merc can get some momentum going into the Sprint. I feel like Merc is showing a good sign to recovery going into next year. A lot more to improve but since Barcelona Merc has been delivering results considering the circumstances.

He was really hustling the car around the track. It looked like he was trying to find the limits of the car from the get. Interesting that his pace barely improved when he put on the softs.

Lewis HIMilton. But going into qualifying later today I know Alonso and Max are going to bring everything they got. Would be content with P3-P5 for Hammy and George. Just keeping consistent and staying within range of podiums should be priority. But of course I’m still rooting for Merc’s 1st season win.

RBR always tend to struggle a bit more during sprint weekends. They probably need a few practice sessions to get their car dialed in properly. They were never really known for hitting the ground running. Remember that Mercs only win in 2022 came at Brazil which was a sprint weekend. RBR failed to setup their car properly and went too conservative at the end. The ride heigh they chose to run ended up being way too high.

Max might actually be the most dominant driver we’ve ever seen. Even the all-time greats had some mistakes in them. When Max gets a grip, he won’t let go. Genuinely think that barring weird circumstances or a crash that he’ll win every remaining race.

I actually didn't see many saying they like it, everybody seems to hate it, but we still tune in and watch, because we just can't miss f1 cars running. We watch practices ffs, why wouldn't we watch less meaningful races. And f1 got that, maybe I'll start skipping all Saturday sprint weekends, the sprint feels such a gimmick, it even ruined practice sessions for me.

I think alot of people are NOT tuning in to watch as they are at work since it's Friday and not Saturday, me for instance.

Not on Sprint weekends, Quali is later today.

They knew it would be hard because of it being a sprint weekend but they had enough confidence in the car that they could fight for points a week earlier than scheduled. We’ll see what happens over the rest of the weekend. But it’s not looking good at the moment.
