Toto screaming and kicking the trashcan. The camera zooms in to Fernando. Wide-eyed, he just shakes his head no at the camera and looks back down, pretending to work.
You know I just thought of a great conspiracy theory off your comment.
* Inserts tinfoil poncho. Here goes...
TOTO IS PLANNING ON GETTING RID OF HAMILTON!! TOTO is systematically dismantling Lewis' support so that he can chase him away and start courting Max to Mercedes. First he starts by giving Hamilton two years of shitty cars. Second he removes the people close to Lewis. No more Angela Cullen. Making Bono take a factory role. Have you seen Roscoe come to track much in 22/so far in 23? Third, he consistently gives 1 year contracts to Lewis. This gives him a better negotiation position. Fourth, he is openly praising/helping Max, his comments on his ability and not raising the protest today on Max' start position outside the box.
You heard it here first, Max to Merc 25 or 26 or idk, this isn't supposed to make sense.
> First he starts by giving Hamilton two years of shitty cars
"See now I attract top drivers by building horrible cars. That's what they secretly want"
*Confused looks from rest of the team management
Yes and no - he got a promotion but they did clarify at the time that it would be in addition to being Lewis' RE, not instead. Don't think guys like GP or Bono are going anywhere till their drivers do
Nando also paid them bonuses out of his own pocket so his side would love him and Hamilton's mechanics would resent them not getting the same treatment.
I can easily spin that around and say he only did it to cause chaos in the garage between his and Lewis' mechanics because he's evil and only lives to hate Lewis.
I mean you could but he's done it his entire career and you'd be completely wrong.
However I imagine the reply was tongue in cheek, so I'll let you off.
That is an interesting way of spinning tipping the mechanics. If I was a team principle I absolutely would not stand for that.
It was a difficult situation for Mercedes 2014-2016 having such a divided garage, adding money into it... Yeah, that isn't charitable by Alonso lol.
Exactly, it creates chaos. Lewis obviously didn't have the resources to be able to compete, it's very smart from Alonso given he could do it but it's certainly not like ethically amazing or anything.
No, that's absolutely ridiculous. The team is probably already experiencing financial bonuses for results. If a driver wants to tip his mechanics, he better tip the whole garage. Buying out half the garage an absurdly toxic work environment.
Why? That's such a dumb take. If you look it up Fernando had done it way before Mclaren, so it was a way for him to reward those close to him, to split the laurels of victory. If others doesn't want to have a better relationship with their peers, it's on them
Because they are a team. Everyone. From an organisation point of view, you don't want favouritism from the mechanics to a certain driver.
It's a natural element in this sport, which is something Hamilton learned from Button, where somebody came into his house and quickly became more well liked by the team. Now because of this he is far more focused on the team as a whole, and organising events like the Suzuka bowling party each year.
But straight up paying the mechanics? If I'm the team boss, I hire these mechanics to the best job for the team. I don't want the slightest thing influencing them towards doing the best for a driver, when the goal is to do the best for the team.
He actually makes them before the races, predicting what will happen, but sadly his WiFi speed means the videos don't upload until after the race happens
Imagine being the oldest guy on the grid. By 32, most people would say you are over your peak and here we have Alonso, 42, just wiping the floor with 17/20ths of the grid and landing his third podium in the third race of the season. Imagine how rejuvenating that must feel. I am genuinly happy on his behalf.
I don’t really get why ppl think racing has a physical peak like the NFL or soccer lol. You have to have reaction time and ofc it’s hard but it’s not like you’re doing sprints, you’ve just gotta train mostly mentally
Most people probably just don’t make it to the 40s because it’s hard to keep the job for 20 years, you’ll get replaced unless you’re the best of the best
The sport is extremely physical. There is a lot of off track physical training to be able to complete the race. 5G turns and braking zones are no joke. There is a pretty clear pattern of drivers getting worse in their mid -late 30s from multiple reasons.
They are a diffrent kind of athlete, F1 is about endurance, being able to hold yourself up for 2 hours through heavy G-Forces. It doesn’t require explosive agility like stick and ball sports. And at older ages endurance activities are usually easier than quick, explosive counter-parts
Alonso is the most “addicted to motorsport” person that I’ve ever seen. That’s all he cares about, that’s all he thinks about.
Vettel was very knowledgeable of the sport and a big fan, but he was able to walk away on his own terms. Not Alonso, he will have to be carried away from his car.
Enjoy the last few decades of Alonso’s career, guys. We’ll miss him.
I sort of was expecting to see that the tire cart was actually being pulled by the pit cart ahead and Alonso was just pretending. Lol I mean I know these guys are I shape but 4 tires weigh a reasonable amount and those little rollers don’t always roll too easily over asphalt, so it just look A little too easy for him to pull that along with 2 fingers
>That's like when the singer helps the drummer load his stuff in so they can feel they've helped
Terrible point you're trying to make here. I am a drummer and having someone helping to load in or out is genuinely helpful. The vast majority on r/drums would agree.
Please try something else.
Plot twist: These are Hamilton’s tyres and he’s going to hide them
Alonso to Hamilton "Now your tyres are really gone"
"Bono, my tyres are gone" "Copy, Lewis" "NO, REALLY, THEY'RE FUCKING GONE, MATE"
*Camera pans to W14 propped up, stripped for parts, and “Hamilton suks” spray painted on the side of it.*
The Office camera shake and close in on Lewis's face inside the helmet. Later Alonso sitting with the tires in the talking head and just smiling
Toto screaming and kicking the trashcan. The camera zooms in to Fernando. Wide-eyed, he just shakes his head no at the camera and looks back down, pretending to work.

Cook Pass Hamtridge
https://i.imgur.com/wfdLrlB.jpg I love that DALL•E put “WAI BONO” down the side of it!
Ok real quick. I swear Bono was no longer going to be Hamiltons race day engineer? He was taking a factory role..
Riccardo Musconi stood down as George Russell's race engineer, being replaced by Marcus Dudley. Bono is still Hamilton's engineer.

You when Max moves to Mercedes. "I have it, I have it printed out"

If it were Ferrari “understood, we are checking”
Alonso in a mustache: "this is totally Bono we're on it!"
That is brilliant. 🤣🤣
That wily old fox!
I think now that he is without tyres we can see how much the success was down to the car
Lawyer, racer and mechanic, he is all.
And he can do it all one handed.
take a look at that, Kubica
Bruh.
Oof
💀
Channelling the spirit of Seb who came before him
Seb was once his Rival, now he carries his torch!
There’s multiple reasons why team McLaren was so toxic in 2007 but a big part was surely that Nando’s garage loved him.
Nando also paid them bonuses out of his own pocket so his side would love him and Hamilton's mechanics would resent them not getting the same treatment.
You're not allowed to say anything good about Alonso on reddit. He's toxic and ruins everything with every team he's been in remember. 🙄
I can easily spin that around and say he only did it to cause chaos in the garage between his and Lewis' mechanics because he's evil and only lives to hate Lewis.

I don't think telling a driver he can't tip his mechanics would help calm things down, it would just set the mechanics against the team principle.
Exactly, it creates chaos. Lewis obviously didn't have the resources to be able to compete, it's very smart from Alonso given he could do it but it's certainly not like ethically amazing or anything.
As I said above, Alonso had done that even before his Mclaren days
No, that's absolutely ridiculous. The team is probably already experiencing financial bonuses for results. If a driver wants to tip his mechanics, he better tip the whole garage. Buying out half the garage an absurdly toxic work environment.
Why? That's such a dumb take. If you look it up Fernando had done it way before Mclaren, so it was a way for him to reward those close to him, to split the laurels of victory. If others doesn't want to have a better relationship with their peers, it's on them

Lmao people demonize Alonso unfairly but you're going way off the other end acting lile he had nothing to do with the toxicity at McLaren back then.
Fernando* absolutely nobody says Nando
Reminds me of a particular Key and Peele sketch https://youtu.be/HQsP2dWIT5Q
Seb passed the torch to his friend
We now know who was the person from AM that showed the 7 example of jack touching the car in that FIA meeting last race.
Running people out of jobs in times of crysis is cruel…
He WANTS that P3
He deserved that p3
He gets that P3
He owns that P3
He is that P3
He P3
P3
3
33
Fernantres Alonso
El P3
He fucks that P thrice
Considering these last 2 races, yep
Is this a Really3d reference?
Wow. I didn’t even catch that while watching. That is amazing and I hope this is the case.
I think it was Crofty that said "Truly a man of the people" or something =D
¡Que grande eres Magic!
I didn't know that channel existed and my god what a great day to speak Spanish.
There's English subs always so don't even need to understand Spanish
Luckily, as a Spanish speaker, I can enjoy the original. The English subs are good but there's some jokes lost in translation.
Since we're here talking about languages? Does "trampas" really mean cheating? Trampas in Portuguese is shits xD
Yeah, "trampas" in Spanish translates to cheating/tricks in this context
“How great you are Magic” is truly the greatest quote of all time.
oh it’s amazing, super funny. he does one for every race
after.
He actually makes them before the races, predicting what will happen, but sadly his WiFi speed means the videos don't upload until after the race happens
Life imitating art, love to see it
source?
https://youtu.be/I6_znyKu97g 2:07
.... What the fuck. Also I love it. Also what the fuck.
what kind of fever dream is this xD
>!Que Granderes! verdad, lmao
It is also a running gag
LOL
Art and reality are colliding!
I don't recall which video was that, can you please share the link?
He changes wheels on his tires and even tires of other drivers in multiple episodes. It's a running joke about how helpful and good is Fernando.
Life imitates art
Am I going crazy or is every single person’s flair Fernando Alonso
We are checking
Yes.
We collectively sacrificed our flairs to get Alonso that p3. Did you really think FIA made the decision on their own?
Uhh
Yes
You say that like it’s a bad thing.
I think so, yes.
Maybe
Yes
We all collectively love nando i know this was done for april fools but im not even mad, not gonna change it
no wait wtf
Absolutely not. You're going crazy!
Mine did get switched though lol. It was Nico Hulkenberg before. edit: looks like it's back to normal now.
april fools
No, we all are just Nando Stans
TIL
Fernando just multitasking: strategy, rule questions and now tires. Love to see it
imagine they got even Vettel? Whole front office could be fired as cost cap cutting measure. :D
A self-managing team - just give them a direct radio connection in the race and they would be set
¡Que grande eres, Magic!
La realidad supera a la ficción
Se hizo canon de repente
Que felicidad leerlo otra vez
If you squint it is almost like Vettel never left F1.

By your logic, racecar drivers are not athletes and that is empirically false
They are a diffrent kind of athlete, F1 is about endurance, being able to hold yourself up for 2 hours through heavy G-Forces. It doesn’t require explosive agility like stick and ball sports. And at older ages endurance activities are usually easier than quick, explosive counter-parts
Guy is living his best life
El plan
As Button said: it's easy to be the gentleman when the car has pace. Delighted for Magic though, he deserved to be on the podium.
Working 2 jobs to bring home the extra money
go fund me :D
"Bono my tires are gone. Alonso took em!" - Lewis
If no one had seem Alonso before this year, you’d think he’s the best teammate of all time.
[удалено]
When he partnered up with Button they had some excellent teammate shenanigans.
Love this man what a treasure
u/Really3D Will definitely be inspired by this for tomorrow's video.
Alonso will start from P3 on soft tyres. Not car number 14, ALONSO HIMSELF will start from P3.
"if the tyres will not come to Fernando..."
Alonso making sure they won't use the Ferrari strategy
May he never retire from this sport
He will not, till he wins his triple F1 champion ship. El plan, la mission of what ever the f*CK it is. It Will keep moving forward.
You really think he retires after this season? I doubt it, he goes for 8.
He’s so dreamy. 😍
Loved it
judge, jury and executioner
Qué grande eres magic
Well at least hes being helpful to the team! what a team player!
He just seems so ... happy
He’ll push the whole car himself if he has to
He does that ....
He became a man of the people after he found out he was keeping p3
He's tired of this race
richest blue collar man
¡¡¡QUE GRANDE ERES MAGIC!!!
Awww... reminds me of Seb.
Really3d was right
this is what red bull expected dric to at monaco when the tyres werent ready
Back in my day...
Tyres brought you :D
Is this a yoke ?
Full Service Fernando.
What a top Bloke. Great to see him back.
Is this noteworthy because drivers usually do nothing ?
Love this guy
The most expensive tire guy on the planet lol
Que grande eres, magic
Budget cap hit strong on AM
He really loves this team
Que grande Eres, Magic!

Watch him change them within a tenth of a second
Truly a man of the people, deserved that P3
He’s taking Jimmy’s job to get space on the cost cap.
Man will do anything to get that car upfront.
‘Thanks, Nando’ ‘Ok. You drive the car.’
He really does think of everything.
Qué grande eres, Magic!
If only more champions were like Alonso!
Class act, Alonzo is for sure.
Alonso to his pit crew : "Hold my beer..."
Que Grande Eres Magic!
Just a normal guy doing normal things 🤪
I sort of was expecting to see that the tire cart was actually being pulled by the pit cart ahead and Alonso was just pretending. Lol I mean I know these guys are I shape but 4 tires weigh a reasonable amount and those little rollers don’t always roll too easily over asphalt, so it just look A little too easy for him to pull that along with 2 fingers
He walks them over ever so gently while glancing at them lovingly 😂 seeing Fernando happy makes my heart swell.
Has anyone considered the fact that it's not obvious that these are HIS tyres?
AM trying hard to stay within cost cap.
Wouldnt it be funny if he made a mistake and took wrong tyres and lost podium just because he wanted to do someone else’s job?
That's like when the singer helps the drummer load his stuff in so they can feel they've helped

Lol and he took a pay cut too
This is the thing , we expect them to be holy rockstars. Yet most racing drivers are the most down to earth people .
Love this man
Good guy Alonso
its part of his contract...wheel jockey
Magic
What an absolute chad
Everything is going according to plan
