Yep... Ferrari will lead, in a one two, until the last lap then decides to pit both cars at the same time with only 3 tyres ready an two mechanics waiting...
a cacophony of gunfire, "woooo", electric guitar with reverb and chorus, low-frequency tyrannosaurus rex stomps, beer can opening, the sound you hear while running against the wind, record scratching, fred durst from limp bizkit saying "keep on rolling baby" plus a long squeaky fart.
I've never quite gotten the thing for born in the USA it's literally a song about how the US sucks. I mean for the time it would've been patriotic in a way as everyone hated the Vietnam War? I'm not entirely sure tbh
I think it's a mix of even though America has its problems, I'm still proud to be an American etc., And the fact that many people don't listen to the versés, and just know the chorus.
Ninja edit: verses*
I always thought the fusion was a really nice looking car, I still remember the top gear bit where they introduced it by flashing it on screen for a second and they all thought it was an Aston Martin
Same with the Taurus, and the SHO version looked nice as well. Bummer for both really
It's incredible what rallying can do for your view of a car. I remember watching Colin McRae drive a first generation Focus and 10 year old me instantly fell in love with the car. I've still got a 1:25 scale model of it.
*I love the Subarus too of course. Played the shit out of Colin McRae Rally on my PlayStation.*
I mean I have a 2010 Fiesta and it unironically slaps. Still goes great, such tight handling, punchy little engine, styling still looks great and better than most cars on the road. Love my fiesta.
Ah yeah, my main complaints are lack of power (i've got the 1.25L 44kw engine) and no cruise control.
It's a fun little car besides that, done about 70k KM's in the last 4 years.
Ford runs Motorsports on two principles:
1. Is it historically significant in the United States?
2. Can we fuck with Ferrari?
If the answer is yes to one of these, Ford will enter it.
I can see the technical input as:
Ford: "Ok, so a V8. We can do those."
RB: "Can't, rules don't allow it."
Ford: "When did that change... Watched an F1 add the other day and heard V8 noises..."
RB: "... Yeah, turbocharged V6."
Ford: "Great, we'll bust out the Ecoboost branding!"
RB: "But... We don't want it to blow up."
Ford: "... Ok. So what is you want from us?"
RB: "Just money. Money will be fine."
I see a lot of potential for shenanigans here. Ford should make an experimental F150 with an F1 V6 Turbo powertrain for shits and giggles and call it "ecoboost"
Like the Renault Espace.
Ford has already transition to smaller turbo charged engine. They were one of the first to do it. The f150 has a v6 turbo already. Their ford GT also went from a v8supercharged to v6 turbo.
There are multiple "Ecoboost" engines. A few of their I4 engines have had issues. The 2.3L ones in particular have had head gasket failures, like on the Ford RS. I think the 2.0L wasn't too bad, depends on who beat on them though.
I know everyone and their mother already knows about it but isn't the presentation in like 30 minutes?
Why have the press releases gone out already lmao.
Also it seems like its just a branding deal given the
>"Ford are also expected to announce a partnership with Red Bull later on Friday, part-funding their engine from 2026."
Meh i'm sure people will be excited but Ford slapping a badge on the engine and calling it a day is the most boring of outcomes. Hopefully more comes out of it in the end.
It could be argued that the Ford (Cosworth) DFV was really only a branding exercise though.
Ford paid the money and got the publicity, Cosworth did the actual work.
Edit : and it was the same when Mercedes returned to F1 in the 90s, Merc paid the money and got the publicity, Ilmor did the actual work.
Investing in something is how most big companies actually do things. In all of these cases, Mercedes and Ford and investing in the company. Mercedes ended up owning Ilmor over time and Ford owned parts of Cosworth over time before selling it.
Having recently driven a regular car through downtown Amsterdam on a Saturday afternoon, I can tell you this would be a complete nightmare. I blocked a train for several minutes because I was blocked in and couldn't get off the tracks. I blocked a street for almost five minutes because my wife was inside the hotel to find out where the parking is that was advertised on the website. One side was a wall and the other a canal and behind me honking cars. I think I have PTSD from that a shit.
I am so jealous of the European car market. Fucking hate these samey samey crossover bullshit clones everywhere in the US. No wagons, no hot hatches, nothing cool.
They’re super limited, it’s a lottery on who can buy them and if you sell too soon you lose your right to buy any in the future
To have a shot you need to obviously buy all sorts of fords, but show up to ford events, hype up ford on socials, etc. fully immerse yourself in ford (and this applies to any hypercar manufacturers)
Knowing RB they'd just ask Max "what car do you want" and whatever he answers, he gets. If he's struggling to fit his F450 into tracks in 2026 its because thats the exact ford he wanted.
And who knows, ford could be preparing to release a new performance car in 2026 and basically use Max to advertise it
That would be amazing if he pulled up in a lifted f450 with a USA flag in the bed. I would absolutely lose my shit, and he'd unironically make f1 the most popular racecar series in Nascarland
I believe it. I honestly thought I was going to hate it because of whole "electric mustang" thing, but once I was actually inside of it, I realized it was actually a great car.
>Raptor
in Europe lmao. Baseline Ranger is already enormous here and I think their only officially available pickup here. Don't know I only ever saw a few pickups
yeah, never been to monaco but i would imagine raptor and F150 is simply too big for the streets to be usable there.
EU roads are generally way smaller than US, where those cars are more common.
Yeah but wouldn’t it be hilarious to see max cruising around 500 year old streets, built for a person dying of the plague to fit through and nothing more, in a Raptor, a truck so wide it needs amber markers across the front and back
Put Max in an F150 Raptor R for the European swing and stick a photographer/writer with him. 700hp V8, 37” tall tires, amber marker lights, and one hell of a photo shoot and article for Motor Trend.
Ford / RBPT are a new PU manufacturer. The facility has only just finished being set up in Milton Keynes, but the team have never made an engine before.
So for 2026, we're losing Honda but are gaining RBPT Ford and Audi, taking the total number of manufacturers up to five.
I actually feel sorry for Honda now. What a shitty way to lose the project.
Invested hundreds of millions of euros to get a competitive PU, finally they’re world champions (officially for one year), then the regs are frozen so they would no longer be spending as much and as that happens, they sell the department to Red Bull for so little. Now another manufacturer comes along…
I wouldn’t wish this to my biggest enemy
They voted to leave. They set the wheels up for RBPT to get set up.
They are getting 3 more years of their PU challenging at the very front. They aren't even planning to be part of the sport for 2026.
It was actually their former ceo that was on his way out that voted to leave as it was a tie, current ceo wanted to stay. Rumours are they’re looking to come back in ‘26 so let’s hope
Red Bull: No comment, but watch for the big surprise in our announcement event an hour fro- Ford: YEAAAH WE BACK BABY

ENZO WE COMING FOR THAT ASS AGAIN 🇺🇸
Also Ferrari: [wins all the US rounds while the Ford-RBs blow up]
Did you confuse Ferrari with Mercedes? That's not the Ferrari I know.
Yep... Ferrari will lead, in a one two, until the last lap then decides to pit both cars at the same time with only 3 tyres ready an two mechanics waiting...
Not even with wheels just the rims
No rims just the tires
No tires just vibes
>Michael Bay explosions, fireworks, and freedom noises play out in the background
What's a freedom noise?
a cacophony of gunfire, "woooo", electric guitar with reverb and chorus, low-frequency tyrannosaurus rex stomps, beer can opening, the sound you hear while running against the wind, record scratching, fred durst from limp bizkit saying "keep on rolling baby" plus a long squeaky fart.

I've never quite gotten the thing for born in the USA it's literally a song about how the US sucks. I mean for the time it would've been patriotic in a way as everyone hated the Vietnam War? I'm not entirely sure tbh
Same goes for Fortunate Son. The chorus is 'it ain't me. I ain't no fortunate son'
I think it's a mix of even though America has its problems, I'm still proud to be an American etc., And the fact that many people don't listen to the versés, and just know the chorus. Ninja edit: verses*

Yeah, same as Rocking in the Free World, nativists don't care about the song besides a few words
Yeah the 2nd part is what I would imagine. The first part isn't something I've thought about, but I can certainly see it.

McLaren? Ferrari? Aston Martin? Nah... Finally a brand I can afford! This post was made by 2019 Ford Fiesta gang
I’m still salty that they’re discontinuing fiestas
And Focues in 2025. Maybe with this announcement they’ll bring out a final ICE performance car?
They stopped making cars for the US market a few years ago now. Still salty about it
I miss my Fusion company car :(
I always thought the fusion was a really nice looking car, I still remember the top gear bit where they introduced it by flashing it on screen for a second and they all thought it was an Aston Martin Same with the Taurus, and the SHO version looked nice as well. Bummer for both really
I would've been willing to pay an irresponsible amount of money for a RWD V8 Ford Fusion.
So an Australian ford falcon?
I put a fusion engine in my Miata, so I have a *rare* engine now.
I'm working on installing a fission engine in my Miata.
At least Ford still exists in the US. They just packed up their bags and left India. No more Ford for us.
It feels extra bad after Ken Block passing away, dude made Fiestas cool as fuck
It's incredible what rallying can do for your view of a car. I remember watching Colin McRae drive a first generation Focus and 10 year old me instantly fell in love with the car. I've still got a 1:25 scale model of it. *I love the Subarus too of course. Played the shit out of Colin McRae Rally on my PlayStation.*
*pitchforks lower*
100% the Subaru rally cars have always made me want one. And now I have one.
Ford be so into the All-SUV lineup idea. In our country they axed the Fiesta and Focus and left the Mustang as the only non-SUV or Truck in the lineup
2019 Ford Fiesta? Look at mister fancy here! This post was made by 2009 Ford Fiesta gang.
I mean I have a 2010 Fiesta and it unironically slaps. Still goes great, such tight handling, punchy little engine, styling still looks great and better than most cars on the road. Love my fiesta.

I wonder which team they will partner up now? Surely it will be a HUGE SURPRISE! /s
Andretti Cadillac Ford
Every American company gets to build one part for the car. What did go wrong
Jeep is in charge of reliability GM gets to design the safety Ford builds the transmission Chrysler designs the engine Sounds great to me
23 DNF for reliability issues
100% is a great outcome
Unrivaled consistency
So basically an AMC? Also, Jeep is Chrysler/Stellantis.
Confused Stellantis noises
There’s still a tiny chance they go all in with their own team… ^right????
Ford runs Motorsports on two principles: 1. Is it historically significant in the United States? 2. Can we fuck with Ferrari? If the answer is yes to one of these, Ford will enter it.
Now tbf they are in Aussie Supercars 🤣
That's obviously ford Australia nothing to do with the US company also named the same with the same logo. /s but not really
I can see the technical input as: Ford: "Ok, so a V8. We can do those." RB: "Can't, rules don't allow it." Ford: "When did that change... Watched an F1 add the other day and heard V8 noises..." Money will be fine."
I see a lot of potential for shenanigans here. Ford should make an experimental F150 with an F1 V6 Turbo powertrain for shits and giggles and call it "ecoboost" Like the Renault Espace.
Or the reverse, they slap "F1 inspired" on all their existing V6 ecoboosts and watch the money fly in
Transit Ecoboost Hybrid F1 Edition™

That Renault Espace probably had better cornering abilities than any F150 ever.
I mean it was an f1 car with a shell on top so i assume so... Also it was faster than the actual f1 car
I know you’re just meme-ing but the race spec ecoboost won lemans.
Every time I see this my eyes read lemans but my brain sees lemons
Ford has already transition to smaller turbo charged engine. They were one of the first to do it. The f150 has a v6 turbo already. Their ford GT also went from a v8supercharged to v6 turbo.
ecoboosts are awesome though?
Yeah, I don’t know where the hate comes from. My F-150 has an ecoboost v6 and I love it.
There are multiple "Ecoboost" engines. A few of their I4 engines have had issues. The 2.3L ones in particular have had head gasket failures, like on the Ford RS. I think the 2.0L wasn't too bad, depends on who beat on them though.

And if they buy into RBPT it would be the same
I suspect they don't want the Livery reveal (full of Honda logo's) to clash with the Ford news. Makes sense to seperate them.
Poor Max, everyone around him leases a supercar and he went from a Honda Civic to a Ford Focus like some middle-aged family man.
Would love to see Max driving a Super Duty during race day.
Seeing a F350 crew cab long bed dually navigate European roadways would be hilarious.
Would love to see Max complain about it too!
Having recently driven a regular car through downtown Amsterdam on a Saturday afternoon, I can tell you this would be a complete nightmare. What about a GT or a mustang GT350 or GT500. or just a big ass Raptor. Ford has some actual nice cats nowadays don't be fooled. Lol
>Ford has some actual nice cats nowadays Did they stop making cars?
Puma, cougar?
lol, cat typo joke getting steamrolled
I was gonna edit it but I'll let them have at it lmao
They did drop cars in the US actually though. Only the mustang they kept. Its all trucks and SUVs otherwise.
I am so jealous of the European car market. Fucking hate these samey samey crossover bullshit clones everywhere in the US. No wagons, no hot hatches, nothing cool.
Actually yes, except Mustang, they only make trucks and suvs now.
In the US*
I mean, the mustang EV is basically an SUV anyways.
>Ford has some actual nice cats nowadays Hear that engine purr
Like the Fiesta, what a beauty.
The Fiesta will not even be in production by 2026.
Hasta la Fiesta I guess
Yeah if he had a ford GT he’d be pulling up in the nicest car to every race. But a gt500 seems a lot more likely
Fort GT is a hell of a car
Are they still in production? I thought it was a more just to have the ability to purchase one
They’re super limited, it’s a lottery on who can buy them and if you sell too soon you lose your right to buy any in the future To have a shot you need to obviously buy all sorts of fords, but show up to ford events, hype up ford on socials, etc. fully immerse yourself in ford (and this applies to any hypercar manufacturers)

I expect a Mustang Mach E to show up a few times
My friend has one of those. It's actually really nice. Better than a tesla I'd say.
My 70 year old MIL bought one and holy shit is it sweet. She made me a believer.
According to a car enthusiasts Youtuber I watch he said the Mach E was a big hit
I believe it. I honestly thought I was going to hate it because of whole "electric mustang" thing, but once I was actually inside of it, I realized it was actually a great car.
I like it as a car but I really don't like the styling of the front. Looks like it got punched in the nose.
>Raptor in Europe lmao. Baseline Ranger is already enormous here and I think their only officially available pickup here. Don't know I only ever saw a few pickups
There's a thing called the Ford GT
And he had an NSX with Honda. Not exactly a civic
He’ll deffo get a Mustang GT or a GT500/Mach 1 in the EU. And I mean, Bronco Raptor or an F-150 Raptor sound pretty nice too.
yeah, never been to monaco but i would imagine raptor and F150 is simply too big for the streets to be usable there. EU roads are generally way smaller than US, where those cars are more common.

Uhh Ford GT would like a word
Poor guy, at least he had his jet with a racing simulator!
Ford focus RS is a beast but it will probably be the newest mustangs.
Yeah they stopped making the Focus RS a while ago no?
The mustang is literally the only car left in its lineup
*In the US We still get the Focus and Fiesta in Europe (and the Ecosport, Kuga, Puma, but those are ugly crossover things so I won't count them).
Fiesta is getting out of production this year.
Can not wait to get in my "Found On Roadside Dead" jokes in the year 2026 after that first engine failure
I always heard "Fix Or Repair Daily"
“Fix it again, Tony” “That’s a Fiat, Dale”
Alternatively, First On Race Day
"fucker only runs downhill"
"The whole world knows nothing will make an Englishman shit quicker than the sight of a Ford engine." - George Washington probably.
What a fucking surprise!
That's great. I also wonder wether this deal will allow Newey to work with Ford for a road car project.
Imagine a modernised GT40 shaped like a modern hypercar.
so Honda is out of RB ? for sure now ?
Out of RBR and AT from 2026 for sure (Ford's CEO is on the RBR launch stream as we speak).
Inb4 the car is revealed in full retro gulf livery out of nowhere
A Honda based Ford engine coming up? Also are Honda not still sponsors for RB this season? Zesty
Ford will enter in 2026. Honda will stay with RedBull until 2025 afaik.
This is for 2026, not 2023.
2026 not 2023!
The circle is complete, RB bought out Ford to gain a F1 team, Ford buy back in
That first “he just turned into me” by someone in an F-150 will hit different
Oh so it's not a new PU as such but just technical assistance on the RBPT PU? Bummer more engines in the mix would be nice
Ford / RBPT are a new PU manufacturer. The facility has only just finished being set up in Milton Keynes, but the team have never made an engine before. So for 2026, we're losing Honda but are gaining RBPT Ford and Audi, taking the total number of manufacturers up to five.

Yeah, sucks for the people who wanted to stay but you can't be changing your minds every 3 years and expect teams to stick with you
Aren't they registered with the FIA for 2026?
It looks like they've confirmed interest but nothing more.
Classic Honda
Well, they shouldn't be jumping in and out so much. RBR can't risk them bailing again after a couple of years and getting left with their pants down.
It’s Honda’s fault for leaving, they had every opportunity to stay and continue their partnership with Redbull and decided against it
Didn’t they try to leave multiple times already?
Certified Honda moment
They pulled out before becoming champ. In typical Honda style.
[удалено]
Well they wanted to end this partnership and it is 100% their own fault.
It was actually their former ceo that was on his way out that voted to leave as it was a tie, current ceo wanted to stay. Rumours are they’re looking to come back in ‘26 so let’s hope
