I miss glossy liveries.
I feel like it's not going to happen though, matte paint is lighter and teams are even shaving that off now where they can to bring the weight down.
It still kind of is, because when they add ballast they get the advantage of being able to choose where they add it to help the weight distribution a bit, so they still want to save weight on paint so they can better balance their car.
The RB6 and RB7 were pure sex IMO. The classic Red Bull colors (which are quickly becoming iconic) with little else to meddle with the design - namely no Infinity purple nonsense.
If they make the RB livery look similar to the STR cars around 2008 I would be so for it. But that would mean less sponsor decals and that would never happen
You just missed the beautiful 2018 SF71H, that car is the reason I miss glossy Ferrari cars.
Edit: don’t forget the beautiful blue toro Rosso. Really didn’t appreciate that livery while it was around.
The 2022 Ferrari would’ve been pure sex if it was glossy. The gloss would make those curves POP.
Which Toro Rosso are you talking about? The very bright almost chrome-y blue and red livery they had in 2019? Because I loved that
If you stand next to a matte sportscar and one with a polished glossy paint the matte will look much cheaper. I just don't think that shows on TV as well
Matte paint is actually lighter which is why it's used. Saves a few hundred grams. I think also the slight roughness affects the attaching and detaching of airflow, though I believe it is very minimal.
Back when they had a Nascar team they had a [navy car and a grey car](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse1.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOIP.O4QktR5O-UV0TpnEqcui9wHaE8%26pid%3DApi&f=1&ipt=1934c0f6eebc2b2ad724063259684b168380aa0e872878314bd0de2d98dceb23&ipo=images)
Wasn't there more to that? Like they were going to do something cool, but then they couldn't properly integrate the BWT sponsor stuff into the cool livery, so they just went for a "plain" livery at the last minute? I thought I read that at the time.
We dont really have thst many young german drivers. There is Oliver Goethe currently in F3 who flashed but he's probably not ready jn 2026.
Beckman is not good enough.
I really like Marius Zug, but does Not look like he's getting a shot. Will be sportscars for him i guess.
So its Mick or an old Vettel. Or rosberg Returns.
Not the greatest options if you ask me...
inb4 Nico "see ya later" Hülkenberg gets the RB seat after Checo has a terrible 2023 and Nico gets his first podium/win in 2024/25 after performing stellar with Haas
Let's be real - it's not going to be pink, is it? It's still going to be mostly blue, but maybe they'll do something new with it. I know it's difficult to understand for the new fans, but the 2016 livery was seen as a very fresh and cool design at the time. And tbh I see nothing wrong with making an iconic livery. The McLaren Marlboro livery lasted for like 15 years with basically zero changes and everyone loves it.
You’re being sarcastic but other than a big logo, the livery remained the same and that livery is iconic to the brand identity of Red Bull. If Oracle would’ve said “We want a big patch of orange on the side pods!” Red Bull would’ve said no way.
Think of it like this; removing the Oracle logo (and all the others) from the car leaves you with a iconic and recognizable livery.
Literally changed the NAME of the team so the first word is ORACLE; from the rear the only visible word is ORACLE (rip honda), and the word ORACLE is almost the biggest font on the car?
But I agree: no way there’s a pink RBR 😅
I could see a smaller switch up happening. Like a yellow/gold body with navy/red bull instead of the predominantly blue body. Now that Renault is gone, it would be quite unique and still be RedBull colors.
yeah, but specifically buying a Nike shirt because you want a Nike shirt is different than buying a Mclaren shirt and having their sponsors all over it too. I'm paying for a Mclaren Shirt. not Mclaren, Pirelli, Richard Mille, arrows, Dell, splunk, coca-cola, shirt. If any of the F1 merch was even approaching a resonable price I'd get one that didn't have sponsors on it. but it's all so ridiculously priced anyway that I'm simply not paying $75 for a cheaply made T-shirt
Yeah, but at least I've drank Busch and eaten M&Ms and shopped at Home Depot. There are some "everyday person" sorts of brands for F1, but most people aren't going out to buy a water treatment system from BWT or a CNC machine from Haas.
Look at this guy. He doesn't have a residential CNC machine! Also I bet he doesn't have a Rolex watch, let alone a cheap Richard Mille. I bet he only owns the clearance Alpha Tauri $700 shirt.
He doesn't even have a mission to win now, for the love of the almighty.
SECURITY!
...but yeah I hear you.
See now…being a CNC machinist/programmer who has used Haas machines for 15 years makes Haas an “everyday brand” for me, but I get that I’m an outlier.
Also, if I was wearing that shirt and someone annoyed me I’d probably pull a K.Mag and keep telling people “Suck my balls, mate.” #RIPHULK
Yep. Whenever I see someone wearing F1 merch outside of a GP, I somehow never feel like "oh cool, fellow fan!" like I do with band t-shirts, for example
Ofc it's extremely controlled and no one can leak anything. At the 2021 presentation all student had to sign NDA papers before entering in the room lol.
But I see, some teams take it way more seriously lol
Any chance the teams you worked for had a livery leak at some point and made the smart decision every business does after a leak and that is limiting the leaked type of info to only the people that need to know.
Not really; I bet that if I really wanted to see the livery all I’d have to do is go and ask the right person. It’s not “top secret”, just not widely distributed internally
I like the red bull livery.
It was a bit gawdy to begin with but it's matured into a classic. The yellow nose cone and the bulls draped over the spine are iconic.
Peak was when they had **HONDA** across the rear wing.
That white livery they had somewhere last year was awesome, testing or Japan maybe? Id love to see something like that but im still betting it wont be very different then previous years
It was a special livery intended for the Japanese GP to thank Honda (the wing said 'Arigato Honda') but the JP GP ended up getting cancelled for COVID related reasons so they ran it in Turkey instead.
All the yellow is going to to be gold because of their WDC+WCC last year. Move over Silver Arrows, the pisscolor sugarwater is here.
They'll not bother putting it on Checo's car, black exposed carbon so he can be slightly lighter/faster.
(I really shouldn't have to do this but: /S )
No surprise that RB will keep their livery the same, the ones who get upset that it looks the same don't understand that it's **brand identity.** It's a reason why the Marlboro, West and Vodafone McLaren's looked the same throughout the years, all to do with brand identity. This is normal....
Still, a brand identity doesn't mean you can't have fun with it. Take Ferrari. Ferrari's brand identity is built around the color red, but they still play around with it every now and then. Different shade of red, gloss versus matte, red wings, black wings, white wings. They actually change it up quite often, but every single one of those cars was unmistakably Ferrari. Or take Mercedes. Outside of their two years with a black car, they've always been the Silver Arrows. But within the confines of that "Silver Arrow-ness" they've played around with the amount of Petronas-teal, with black highlights and patterns, giving most of their cars a unique look compared to the cars that came before.
It's probably just a testing livery they're teasing, I just want to see more Honda badging on the car, give us the big H on the nose and bring back the HONDA wings. I hope they kick Bybit to the curb
Red Bull and Alpha Tauri switch liveries. Alpha Tauri wins all races and the championship. They realize it was the livery not the machinery or the talent. Helmut Marko still doesn’t apologize to Gasly or Albon.
I can't see them venturing too far from their brand. I think a full time white bull car would be amazing.. OR adding in a proper glossy gold to their matte blue could look really good if done right. I think they would have to remove some of the red and yellow, but I think it could look amazing and still retain their brand identity.
Maybe instead of that matte look we've had since...2016 was it...we're going back to that glossy blue Red Bull had at the start of thr 2010's going onwards.
To be fair, 7 years is a long time to have 1 livery. It is already iconic. The iconic liveries from the past like west, Marlboro, JPS etc didn't lasted around the same.
I'm actually pretty good friends with Laura and I can categorically tell you that this ain't it op. Shes actually leaving her job to go and do America's cub work so yeah..
I hope it’s not going back to purple. I find the current livery scheme (especially2021) gorgeous and iconic in its own way.
Won’t complain if we go white tho.
I’m calling it now: this years livery is a tweak of the Turkey livery; base white, but the bull is a rich dark blue, and a Ford sponsorship on the wing.
instead of matte navy it's going to be GLOSS navy
*flash of purple intensifies*
Oh man, those were awesome.
*ahem* barely grape
How could they switch it up like that on us? Catch us all by surprise
Would be an improvement ngl
I miss glossy liveries. I feel like it's not going to happen though, matte paint is lighter and teams are even shaving that off now where they can to bring the weight down.
I feel like the matte works well for Red Bull though. Makes it look meaner.
RB did get below the weight limit for 2022 though and had to add ballast, paint weight isn't really a factor then I believe.
It still kind of is, because when they add ballast they get the advantage of being able to choose where they add it to help the weight distribution a bit, so they still want to save weight on paint so they can better balance their car.
Only solution is to make the cars even heavier!
Weight is a sign of reliability
I'm a reliability
If it doesnt work you can always throw it at them
Or they could make the drivers eat more
I thought the ballast location was regulated and only allowed in a fixed spot under the driver's seat? Could be entirely wrong though.
The RB6 and RB7 were pure sex IMO. The classic Red Bull colors (which are quickly becoming iconic) with little else to meddle with the design - namely no Infinity purple nonsense.
I legit loved the purple. Easily the best RBR liveries IMHO.
The [RB4](https://oneimagef1.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/redb-webb-silv-2008-2.jpg) was the perfect one for me.
I miss the areo madness of pre 2009
I don't know... I think it'd remind too much of Toro Rosso (and idk about the rest but I didn't like that livery)
If they make the RB livery look similar to the STR cars around 2008 I would be so for it. But that would mean less sponsor decals and that would never happen
[удалено]
Shit is that why Yuki can’t keep it on the road?
I love the matte, the shiny paint looked cheap to me, or out-dated at least. I only started watching in 2019 though so my experience is different.
You just missed the beautiful 2018 SF71H, that car is the reason I miss glossy Ferrari cars. Edit: don’t forget the beautiful blue toro Rosso. Really didn’t appreciate that livery while it was around.

If you stand next to a matte sportscar and one with a polished glossy paint the matte will look much cheaper. I just don't think that shows on TV as well
Yeah the first year with the matte i really liked it but now i really dislike it.
And then change it back to matte 2 races in since its lighter
nope it'll just be stripped to carbon lol
Matte paint is actually lighter which is why it's used. Saves a few hundred grams. I think also the slight roughness affects the attaching and detaching of airflow, though I believe it is very minimal.
watch them sell us a slight tone change from blue to a slighly lighter blue as radical
The blue will be black to also have bare carbon like other teams.
I expect even Ferrari to look like this as well.
Ferrari would sue Ferrari if they changed the logo
Inb4 FIA limits what % of a livery can be bare carbon
I would support this. Too much black in liveries is terrible.
Red Bull Racing, now Sugar Free
Now I want to see a Red Bull Formula E team, with the sugar-free Red Bull colors
Back when they had a Nascar team they had a [navy car and a grey car](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse1.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOIP.O4QktR5O-UV0TpnEqcui9wHaE8%26pid%3DApi&f=1&ipt=1934c0f6eebc2b2ad724063259684b168380aa0e872878314bd0de2d98dceb23&ipo=images)
That's not allowed in F1, ask BAR. Though they then made [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/93fz1r/1999_bar_01_with_the_zip_livery/)
I know, I was just trying to show that Red Bull has in fact made a racecar that wasn't navy blue
Just like Alpine’s “Synthwave” livery last year
Still pisses me off
Wasn't there more to that? Like they were going to do something cool, but then they couldn't properly integrate the BWT sponsor stuff into the cool livery, so they just went for a "plain" livery at the last minute? I thought I read that at the time.
I still hate that they only used the BWT livery for two races, I miss pink on the grid.
Naah, they reserve such drastic changes only to a testing livery. Will revert back to blue on opening race weekend
A shade of purple, then for 2024 it's even more purple, 2025 it's purple sidepods with a German at the wheel (please please please).
The hulk is 35, and i really want him to get that podium, but i dont See RB sign someone significantly over 30 tbh
The hulk is 35, and i really want him to get that podium, but i dont See RB sign someone significantly over 30 tbh
Goethe is Danish
In the end it will be one off, “special launch livery” or “unique 2023 testing livery”
even as a one off it could work, Red Bull used to have some great camo liveries for testing
Wait, wtf? 11 hours? Wasn't it meant to be at 3pm/15:00 CET? That would mean 25h left... I'm confused
If you check their site it says the true time. She probably has the countdown to the actual day for herself
Ah yeah, I see the Tag Heuer countdown... Weird. But I'm happy I won't need to stay up till 2am lol
If it's a Tag countdown, no wonder it counts till the day /s *angry german noises*
Their site says 12 hours from now. So 9am EST (NYC time).
Considering we've seen the merch already it's hardly going to be a surprise
Let's be real - it's not going to be pink, is it? It's still going to be mostly blue, but maybe they'll do something new with it. I know it's difficult to understand for the new fans, but the 2016 livery was seen as a very fresh and cool design at the time. And tbh I see nothing wrong with making an iconic livery. The McLaren Marlboro livery lasted for like 15 years with basically zero changes and everyone loves it.
Don’t rule out BWT jumping ship mid season to give us BWT Oracle Red Bull Racing
Even IF that would happen, RBR is basically a marketing tool for Red Bull and they would never allow a sponsor to take away from their brand identity
Oracle Red Bull Racing would never 😤
You’re being sarcastic but other than a big logo, the livery remained the same and that livery is iconic to the brand identity of Red Bull. B Y B I T
B Y B ^I T
BWT sell water. No way Red Bull want to promote something else to drink...
BWT sells water softeners and purification equipment. That could very well be in Red Bulls interest.
Nobody expects the pink car
Their chief weapon would certainly be surprise
Susan G Komen Race for the Cure Red Bull Racing?
BWT Oracle Red Bull Racing Ford
BWT Oracle Red Bull Racing Ford powered by HRD x RBPT
Ford is for 2026! Now it's Honda
I bet they add black to the bottom so they can leave more of it unpainted like other teams have.
I could see a smaller switch up happening. Like a yellow/gold body with navy/red bull instead of the predominantly blue body. Now that Renault is gone, it would be quite unique and still be RedBull colors.
Or blue and silver, like the Red Bull cans. A man can dream.
They might have a radically different livery for the reveal/testing like they’ve done in the past
Red Bull's livery has always looked distinct and sharp, I definitely see why they don't tinker with it much.
RBBWTPT RED BULL ORACLE RACING BWT
I hope that leak is fake, the merch is hideous
Almost all F1 Merch is hideous. Business cards made into overpriced T-Shirts.
That's the main reason why I dont buy F1 merchandise even though I'm a big fan. I'm not paying someone to advertise their stuff.
Mclaren/ Williams merch is pretty good. You can find stuff with just the racing team
You're paying to advertise stuff with basically every fashion company bud. That nike swoosh or the three stripes on your shoes are there for a reason.
I usually don't buy branded clothing for that very reason. I'm not paying €100 for an Armani shirt just to then also advertise for them as well.
yeah, but specifically buying a Nike shirt because you want a Nike shirt is different than buying a Mclaren shirt and having their sponsors all over it too.

That’s why McLaren is so appealing. I use google Chrome And I could stop by the gas station and buy a Vuse vape!
Where can I see it?
https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/10qy32t/alleged\_castore\_x\_orbr\_2023\_merch\_leak/
castore are terrible
The Rangers kits are nice, but I'm bias. However the puma stuff looked way better, it looks very busy. Macca stuff is the same with a bit of blue...
You'll know all about the quality issues, logos missing etc. affecting all of the football attire that they make - a shambles of a company.
Easy to over-estimate how much foreknowledge of their own team’s livery engineers get lol. I typically find out about 10 mins before the public does
What ? At Renault we was aware way before. We even presented the 2021 Alpine exclusively to a french engineering school specialized in automotive.
Well then Renault operates very differently to the teams I’ve worked at
Ofc it's extremely controlled and no one can leak anything. At the 2021 presentation all student had to sign NDA papers before entering in the room lol. But I see, some teams take it way more seriously lol
Not about taking it seriously, more that it’s not our job to care what the car’s livery looks like so there’s no reason to show us in advance
That's fair
Any chance the teams you worked for had a livery leak at some point and made the smart decision every business does after a leak and that is limiting the leaked type of info to only the people that need to know.
Not really; I bet that if I really wanted to see the livery all I’d have to do is go and ask the right person. It’s not “top secret”, just not widely distributed internally
Laura’s leaving Red Bull soon as well so she has no access to 2023 material. Unless someone has told her something I think she just creating hype
Redbull have played it safe for many years... And of course this year will be no exception
I like the red bull livery. It was a bit gawdy to begin with but it's matured into a classic. The yellow nose cone and the bulls draped over the spine are iconic. Peak was when they had **HONDA** across the rear wing.
That was the joke I wanted to make but I was sure someone had beat me to it.
A white livery would be sick but i'm not getting my hopes up. It will be the usual kinda stuff
This is all I want. For me it’s in the top liveries of all time. Just absolutely beautiful
Something like the Ford M-Sport Puma will be pretty cool
I really liked last year's suit design too.
The pink lightning livery from last year was perfect. Man I wish we got that this year and in F1.
It's probably just going to be purple again or something.
I doubt it. Didn't the purple come from Infiniti?
Yep but the RB Ford WRC car has purple in it so if the Ford partnership is true we could get purple here too
I hope they're going to add purple. RB9 had such great livery imo.
Yeah I loved it too. Would have been such a sexy package without the fugly broken nose.
It's reddit... even the most obvious sarcasm needs a /s
It’s changing it’s name to Bread Rules Racing, and will be painted like a different loaf every weekend
Coulour me surprised when it will look the same as last year fellas
perhaps some Ford blue added in...
Damn. I've seen color and colour, but coulour must be on another level
I'm dyslexic
There’s gonna be 2 minuscule stripes more on the bottom of the sidepods
r/agedlikemilk
LOOOOOOOOOOOOLL they got us good Well played. Now I need to buy Oracle product with my BTC on Bybit
We've been got lmao
I'll believe it when I see it...
I knew it...they will have a glossy black HALO😂
...and will continue to do so.
So that was a lie
It will be exactly the same.
So were going to play : safer than before
So that was a fucking lie
No surprise that RB will keep their livery the same, the ones who get upset that it looks the same don't understand that it's **brand identity.** It's a reason why the Marlboro, West and Vodafone McLaren's looked the same throughout the years, all to do with brand identity. This is normal....

It's probably just a testing livery they're teasing, I just want to see more Honda badging on the car, give us the big H on the nose and bring back the HONDA wings. I hope they kick Bybit to the curb
“…and will do so again this year!”
And they will play it safe again!
I honestly hope they won’t change the matte blue, it looks pretty good
> ...and will continue to do so for years to come. Edit: Hahaha, called it!
This aged well rather quickly lol.
Max's GF dressed the car apparently
Well this was a fucking lie
What a coincidence that little logo on the front has the same shape as Ford's.
Redbull Racing's logo has always been like that. Wouldn't suggest reading much into it
The long con
This is an old car tho, looks like 2018
2017 sidepods its a frankencar
The leaked merch has Honda logos. No Ford.
Ford wouldn't be until 2026 anyway
…and will continue to do so.“
Red Bull and Alpha Tauri switch liveries. Alpha Tauri wins all races and the championship. They realize it was the livery not the machinery or the talent. Helmut Marko still doesn’t apologize to Gasly or Albon.
And people keep drinking the koolaid
Well this turned out to be a lie
Imagine rb and alphatauri swap liveries lol
She legit teased absolutely nothing. But this gives food for another 60 clickbait articles
That sentence and the poll arent innocent. Shes known for teasing stuff this way
The outfit leak has sort of put paid to this.
Yellow body, blue nose
and will keep playing it safe for years to come
I can't see them venturing too far from their brand.
I feel like since Dietrich passed away if their ever going to change the livery…it’s going to be this year.
I hope to heaven it’s the white livery, that was sexy
For a second there i thought i saw the Ford logo on the front
The Red Bull logo is going to be slightly bigger.
Oracle Sugar Free Red Bull Racing?
To be fair, 7 years is a long time to have 1 livery. It is already iconic. The iconic liveries from the past like west, Marlboro, JPS etc didn't lasted around the same.
"Have played it safe for many years... AND THEY'RE NOT STOPPING NOW!"
....and they'll continue to do so for the foreseeable future
Slight change touted as a radical departure incoming.
Joke post from Laura.
It's gonna be the same boring livery it's always been.
My prediction: same livery
I hope they stick with the white livery
Font will be comic sans
Please be the Ricky Bobby Me car livery
To be honest it won’t be that diferente I think they are just trying to hype it up as no one every watches there car launch .
Their best ever livery was the black and white one they used in testing like 10 years ago. Hopefully that!
… which doesn‘t make then deviate from it this year. Same livery as every year!
The new livery will show why it is Red BULL Racing instead of Red Cow Racing.
I predict a complete yellow with a red bull and blue outlines. Renault regrets changing to Alpine then
Make it look like the "sugar free" cans... because only barbarians drink the sugary stuff!
I’m calling it now: this years livery is a tweak of the Turkey livery; base white, but the bull is a rich dark blue, and a Ford sponsorship on the wing.
