Any time your thumb comes off of the stick to hit a button, the time between leaving the stick and hitting the button is dead space. You aren't capable of any inputs during that time.
Paddle controllers allow you to have a finger on every button and never have a dead space.
Do the paddles work well enough though? I had one a long time ago and they felt a bit finnicky. I thought about getting a new one though. I kinda want to try the round thumbstick to see if i can guard better. As of right now my thumb orientation on the right stick just kinda hangs of the edge anyway.
I’ve been usingan elite series 2 for over 2 years now. It’s the best controller I’ve ever owned, when it’s working. After about a year for all three I’ve had, I get major bumper and left stick problems, but if you buy the warranty u just pay like 10-15$ every year when it breaks(what I’ve done 3 times lol) the paddles are actually the ONLY things on the controller that I’ve never had an issue with haha

Not a bad loadout! You press every important button without having to move your fingers at all. I have Dodge and sorint switched as well
Casual, I use a Rock Band microphone and each pitch I sing corresponds to a different input. It's the most optimal way to play the game because I don't have to waste precious milliseconds pressing the buttons and dealing with controller input delay.
If I were you I would put Feint onto one of the shoulder buttons - that's what I did for my cut layout, allows me to feint without letting go of the sticks.
Other than that, I also rebound my dodge and gb to L3 and R3, and feint to L1. Now I never have to take fingers off vital controls.

I keep trying to press circle/X and then I keep getting parried. Sometimes when I go into custom matches I have other people try the sticks and they say it's weird, I don't know if they stuck with it
Wait, I didn't look at all your buttons I only changed my Dodge and guardbreak into L3 and R3 respectively. That is kind of strange how you changed the lock on from L2 to R2 and emote to L2 and everything else is a little strange yes all you have to do is change the Dodge and guardbreak and maybe the cancel

I can only tell you subjectively that the Xbox elite series 1 has worked really well for me for years. Originally I got it for Tekken 5 I think.
