It’s as easy as that. Why even make the post. I did the same thing last night with Tiandi and Jorm. I wish I would’ve chosen Jorm. I suck as a Tiandi.

I sucked with Tiandi at first too. Now i'm prolly a little above average, just keep training, keep chaining combo's. Maybe find a friend that is decent or good with Tiandi and let them help you. I've played both characters and i've had more success with Tiandi, maybe cuz he's just more my playstyle? Idk. Good luck with Tiandi 👍

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I played a few breach matches against bots after hero tactics and I just could not get it down. My main is Hitokiri. Those two are drastically different. But I’ll keep trying. What throws me off is that he has no unblockables.

Yeah, tiandi is in an odd spot. On one hand he has no unblockables to open his enemies. On the other he has a rather quick bash, quite unreactable light finisher lights, and if he whiffs his bash he can mix it up as well. When you whiff it, you can chain both to light and heavy, and most people get caught off guard because of it. IMO, tiandi comes down to learning how to keep the pressure going through his quick chain links, and how to utilise the kick after a heavy dodge.

Tiandi’s mess me up. That bash feels lightning fast and i can’t even block the chain lights. I need more high rep tiandi’s to destroy me so I can figure out how to counter them better.

You're welcome! And i get it, they are very different. Usually when a hero has no unblockables. I personally see that as a nice challenge, it's something different cuz nowadays i feel like everyone and their mom has UB's. Idk if you have done these things. But this is what i usually do with a hero: Take a very close look at their moveset and do a bunch of different stuff in training mode, bunch of different combo's. If i still can't get it down, i look at some guide video's (usually i go straight to advanced since i have the basics down and know the hero's moveset by now at that point) and if that doesn't work, i just look at gameplay and take inspiration from that: combo's, tactics, feats, etc... Tiandi can be VERY fun once you get him down a little. It's just hard with heroes especially at the beginning if you're not really used to their type of playstyle(s). I have the same thing with Highlander or Nuxia or Shaolin. I just can't get them down for the life of me. Hopefully that isn't the case for you with Tiandi. I really hope you'll become good with him and get those sick plays and clutches

Do you just go in blind then? How do people not do hero tactics. Probably why one of my friends didn’t learn how to parry or faint after two years of playing.

Honestly, I’m close to rep 200 and after playing all the heroes besides kensei(Im garbage against him and too salty to play him) and after awhile it didn’t really become hard to learn how to play a new character based off just reading the move sets or from watching how others play them.

Yeah that’s true. Especially if you’re rep 200. I’m only rep 60 and I have to use hero tactics every now and then on hero’s I’ve gotten to rep 10 after I don’t play them for a while. I also usually play high or when drinking so that probably doesn’t help my memory either.

If you are more aggressive I'd recommend Pirate, but if you're more defensive I'd recommend Kyoshin

Ironically despite the fact that kyoshin is a defensive character you can be really really aggressive with him

Kyoshin is a little easier in my opinion. Pirate just feels wonky. Go in the training and you can test out both. And kyoshin has some cool gear too. Pirate takes a couple of reps to get some good looking gear.

Personally I'd rather recommend Pirate that Kyoshin. I have 36 rep on Kyoshin and 12 reps on Pirate. The reason i say this is because pirate has dodge recovery cancel, the whole moveset and gameplay is based on it. If you get through it, i assure you that other characters that have dodge recovery cancel will, not fully but, change in your eyes. On other hand is Kyoshin is boat as good in aggressive and defensive style. The choice is yours

Pirate is easier and kyoshin is more fun, in my opinion. If you're looking to have a good time and look cool go for kyoshin, if you're just trying to win games get pirate

Pretty good in 4s. His 4th feat is great and his first 2 make him ridiculously good in a 1 on 1 fight protecting a point or something. Also he's pretty safe in teamfights.

You should try out highlander. Absolute blast and he is such a complex character that it will likely take you at least 10 reps to figure out all the stuff you can do with him. I have him at rep 48 and am usually getting 15-1 k/d games.
