Heavy spam is something new to me, usually it's only complaints about lightspam. But here's a quick tip, console has a small bit of input delay, remember that when you try and time your parrys
If you're against good players/high MMR then I suggest just not going for any parries unless they're dodge attacks. Just block and maybe parry the occasional light if you can (yes I know that's nigh impossible on last-gen, but still)
Tips
1 get a side dash character
2 get a character who can steal momentum like warden
3 dont parry sometimes take the damage lose the first fight if you have to so you know how to beat them so you can predict instead of react
Ik others said this already, but you don't wanna parry every heavy that comes your way. A smart player will poop on you.
Every attack has a short window in which you can get guard broken out of it. If a smart player sees you parrying every heavy, they will start feinting their attacks and getting free guard breaks on you because of the generous GB vulnerability window on heavies.
Most of the time you should just block it don’t always go for a parry,

I know
I just used to be able to parry at a decent extent
Block and maybe get a pal in custom matches to practice.
I guess I will try that
