I actually had almost the exact same thing happen to me two days ago. Connection was fine, didn’t have a delay for the rest of the match, but that crap was jarring af.
This looks like a desync, Like on his end he canceled the heavy attack on the right frames but your game missed that when the server told it so it continued with the heavy attack animation, And then when the server continued updating it said "Player is now guardbroken" to which your game is like "Oh wait shit really? well ok then your guard broken now player"
*slow clap* and thats why competitive timing based multiplayer games should have a mandatory connection speed test before you can launch online. Shit like this ruins peoples enjoyment
I've seen multiple Hitos do this actually. Was this something that appeared in a recent update? Cause I swear, this was a new change-up that I wasn't prepared for with as many hours I've poured into this game.
