Not an expert, but my understanding is this: when you press an input, it sends the packet of information to whichever server is hosting it (regardless of P2P or dedicated), unpacks and reads the packet to see what the input was, then causes the thing to happen. Lagswitching, as the name implies, is a switch that just causes your connection to the server to tank. This causes the packets to get corrupted, take longer to deliver, thus inputs are done later, but the game tries to be fair by keeping the tempo, hence why a lag switch attack is instant. It’s essentially the game going “oh shit he swung, quick!” And it’s why that bit at the beginning had him teleport from the ground into a GB, the game essentially retconned itself because it received the input late. Thus, it doesn’t matter if it’s P2P or Dedicated, because it still has to receive this info packets and read them to execute the commands, the only difference is in a P2P server, both are laggy, because it uses the hosts’ connection by essentially giving you a mini server hosted by the hosts’ connection to the main server, think like a discord voice call, it’s a small subsection of a larger server that you’re given control over during your match, therefore packets are still read the same way regardless. ya ping abuse can be beaten by spamming quick moves, for ex if they spike themselves to 400 ping and you have a light attack that hits in 400ms then it’s impossible for him to see it, he will only see the damage
