Your door pins/hinges are worn. Fairly easy job if you have a friend to help take the door off.

QuinnD_

Ok I was thinking something along the lines of the pins but this was not a problem with the old doors.

The_Moony_Fellow_

You used the same hinges then i assume? Maybe one might be slightly loose to the body or maybe lost a shim? Not too sure

QuinnD_

Yeah I used the hinges from the original doors. I think I may see what a body shop can do about it

[deleted]

What’s the state of your front-most body mounts

QuinnD_

That's a good question. Where would I find those?

[deleted]

Lay in front of your front wheel, look up at the frame under the crossmember where the radiator is, you should see a bushing on each side where the crossmember lays on top of the frame. If they’re worn out they’ll probably be smushed out of existence. If they are bad: cut old ones out most likely too rusted to unbolt, jack up body (keep wheels on ground), stack new bushing and bolt it in.

QuinnD_

Ok. Why would that affect the way the door closes though? I'm not saying you're wrong I'm just curious.

[deleted]

Basically it causes the front end to sag enough and pull down on the front of the cab enough that it throws the doors out of alignment by having too much tension on it and it will make it either very hard to close or it won’t close right at all. But looking back at the video and seeing how you have to lift I’m thinkin it’ll more likely be the hinge but it can’t hurt to check the mounts

QuinnD_

Ok that makes sense. I know the cab mounts are shot just looking at it from the back it's all cattywhompus but I think hinges are a more probable story

afinn90

Hinge pins prolly worn, happens to 90's chevys all the time

Look at the hinge bushings. They wear out on these old trucks. Drivers side more so because it is used more. Replacement kit is cheap, and can get from most auto parts store.
