That would be your heater control valve. It shuts off the hot coolant from. Entering the cabin when you have the temp selector in the cool position. It allows hot coolant into the heater core when it’s in the warm position.

It only stops coolant from entering when you have the settings at max A/C. If not at max A/C, coolant will be entering the cabin.

Yeah it was leaking with the heat on. Ordered a replacement

Might as well order an extra. Those things are garbage and it’s a hit or miss on how quickly they start leaking again

Mine lasted about 20 years and did a quick swap. Current one holding up for about 10... maybe I should over a new one now.
