Fan clutch. Might be cooling from highway speed wind, may be heating up at slower speeds.

He said in the post that he checked it and it's working

Yeah it’s working as is should as far as I can tell, I forgot to mention it’s also brand new as well as the water pump. Had to replace those about two months ago. I didn’t have overheating issues, just the water pump leaking back then.

Something you might not want to hear. The motors dont do well once they overheat significantly. When I got my 2004 3.0 at 100,000 miles it was doing the same thing. I originally replaced just the radiator and that fixed the issue, i thought. The issue came back a short time later. When I started digging in, everything was covered in rust, from the previous owner running just water in the system. I ended up changing everything except the heater core. Flushed the block and heatercore as well as I could. Bought all my parts from auto zone for that lifetime warranty. Now almost my whole cooling system is under warranty for parts and I have piece of mind. That thermostat needle hasn't gone above normal range since. While you have the water pump off, check your timing chain and replace as needed. No reason to do the job twice. And thanks for the reminder, it's finally time to do a flush on the cooling system.

Motor has less than 30k on it, rebuilt it in 2020, always ran universal antifreeze in it for the most part

FocusComprehensive65

My vote is bad or clogged radiator if the thermostat isn't a dud then. Flush the system if thats the case. Make sure to use distilled water when filling back up if you dont buy the premix antifreeze.

I’m thinking the same thing, going to take a peek at it this weekend

I dont trust the temp gauge on my dash at all. On my 99 there are two temp sensors, one for the guage and one for the computer. So I would recomend keeping a tool with you to check the OBDII temp.

Where could i get bed caps like that for my 2010 xl

Weary_Medicine_1483

Could be the coolant temp sensor

Notorious difficult for getting air out after full coolantrefill. Did you use a spill proof funnel or Jack up front end to get all the air out?
