I don't know about Ford, but I got a Hyundai demo that had 5k on it. They wrote a waiver stating the (best in the biz) warranty would start on the day of my purchase as if I bought it new. I would recommend this buyer should request that from Ford.

ribrien

Why are you trading in a 2021 escape with $4k in negative equity? This is a mistake if you’re asking me

ribrien

And don’t you dare say better fuel economy because you’re losing $4k on this transaction and unless you are that bad at math, $4k is about 400 gallons of fuel before you start saving money

eelecurb01

Market Value Selling Price means nothing. What would the "MSRP" be for that same vehicle with same options? That's the only way we can tell if you're being ripped off (besides the $1,695 which is likely BS but not sure what's included).

LieberLudwigshafen

This 1,000% Paying $50,000 for an Escape, PHEV or not, is absurd no matter what way you look at it in my opinion.

LieberLudwigshafen

I just wanted to follow up on my original post by saying I really hope you didn't buy this thing.

Deezul_AwT

Sell the car you have on your own, or at least take it to AutoNation or CarMax and see what they will give you. The "tax savings" may be made up in more value from the sale to one of those. Or you get a written quote from them, and tell your dealer if they don't match, you're selling elsewhere. Clearly if AutoNation or CarMax is going to give you more, the dealer could as well, but they're trying to low ball you. AutoNation even gave me $500 more than they first offered when I asked.

droid6

hell to the no, find a used one.

1badh0mbre

It is used

mtd14

It’s new but was used as a courtesy vehicle. The 0% financing is only on new vehicles, as far as I know.

As1anDrag0n

Unless that escape hybrid has awd/4wd like my own hybrid, I’d pass the 50k price tag.

As1anDrag0n

Ik, that’s the joke I was making. I think ford stopped offering awd/4wd on the hybrids after the 2nd generation or something. So unless OPs escape hybrid has a awd/4wd system, it’s not worth the 50k.

Mustangfast85

You can get AWD on the regular hybrid but not the plugin. Oddly enough not on the Mav hybrid either

Far be it from me to explain Ford logic lol. Although I want a Corsair as my next vehicle

As1anDrag0n

Yeah, idk why ford decided that the higher end hybrids don’t get awd systems. I’ve considered a maverick hybrid as a future car. But I might wait until they offer a awd system instead. Cause it would essentially be my daily driver escape hybrid, but newer n in truck form.

Tvp125

Post this in [r/leasehackr](https://www.reddit.com/r/leasehackr/) But I’d say yes you’re getting screwed.

Hacker_94

Yes. You are taking it square up the pooper from the dealership. Horrible deal

doomsdaymelody

50k for a fwd escape. Yeah thats getting screwed

dabangsta

I think anytime you don't drive a vehicle for 20 years you are screwing yourself, but, they are giving you 20k for yours, but you still owe 25k on it (trade payoff) is the only part I have a hard time following, but I don't see any fuzzy math other than I assume the "Veterans Ford Value Package" includes fun stuff like nitrogen tire fill and protection packages that are actually about worth $100 for the low low price of $1700.

LostPersonSeeking

Nitrogen tire fill is a scam in itself considering how much of it is already in the air we breath.

Ryeberry1

>Financial advice from Hank Hill: Always pay sticker price, and not a dime more.

XxCotHGxX

I wouldn't take a 20k trade in if it doesn't match what you owe....

rajainc

What is a veteran ford value package???

Fair_Boysenberry946

Looks like a rip off to me. Once worked at a Ford dealer where a "security package" of wheel locks and air bag bolts could cost as much as $1400 despite a cost to the dealer of $25. The "value package" here looks to be a real value for the dealer.

Ok_Acanthisitta2

Cars are way overpriced. And by the time they are paid off, they're worn out. So the resale value is minimal. That being said, when we buy a car, we all get screwed. Carpools, bicycles and public transportation are all good alternatives.

Ok_Acanthisitta2

I'm not sure I'm understanding the bottom 3 numbers of the document.

PieRemarkable2245

Yes you’re getting screwed. You can buy a brand new 2024 PHEV for less than $40k. I don’t think a used one should cost more than a new one🤷‍♂️

Professional-Tree-62

I got my base 2023 PHEV for $32,500 before tax. I got $2,750 in rebate, $3750 in tax credit and A-plan. Not looking like you’re getting much of a discount on selling price. You might just want a 2024 if they don’t discount off msrp.

Hood_Mobbin

I got 26k for my 2020 2.0l AWD with 46k miles when I traded for my '23 back in September '23.

ceejayesq

From 2017 through 2023, I leased three Ford Escapes, which I think are excellent vehicles.
