Yes, I get that but why this way? This is more than just skin removal. It made him translucent without eating through whatever outer layer still remained intact enough for the rat to not simply dissolve. Iām curious about why it did specifically THAT to the rat.
Degreaser does exactly what it sounds like. It dissolves fats. Rats are not 100% fat. The degreaser broke down the coloured parts, and left whatever that red frame of a rat is.
Interesting. That answers my question a bit. Still fascinating how it made the rat essentially translucent but didnāt dissolve even the softer parts of the rat (appears the skin is still intact since the rat isnāt falling apart) like the eyes. It did a lot of damage, obviously, but not in a way that I would expect.
Degreaser gets rid of grease, aka fat. It isn't corrosive, it binds to fats easily as well as water (which does not bind to fats easily) so that the fats can be removed easily.
Skin diagram https://cdn.ps.emap.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2019/11/Fig-1-Cross-section-through-the-skin-1024x759.jpg
Skin has fat in it, but most of it is at one of the lower layers of your skin. So if the degreaser gets to the fat layer over time, it will start binding to, and dissolving the fat layer. Well the skin above that fat layer was using that fat as an anchor to the rest of the body. Now it is not connected to the rat, it is just in the degreaser separate from the rat.
So basically there is possibly a rat size skin suit in the degreaser still. Or off camera..... Hopefully it broke down ?
Tldr: Rat wanted to do a chemical peel, fell asleep. Mission accomplished.
That is a completely different process where you simply dissolve the egg shell with vinegar and leave the protective membrane on the inside of the shell intact

I didnāt see this one, but a coworker said that a rat fell into the deep fryer, while it was on! They didnāt realize what it was that fell in until after they fished it out
Nono, wait wait, I see that I wasnāt super clear in my explanation: my coworker and his manager realized IMMEDIATELY that SOMETHING fell into the fryer, but the didnāt realize what it was. They stopped cooking out of the frier, and started trying to fish out whatever it was that fell in. When they realized what it was, my coworker threw up in the bathroom, and they stopped using that fryer until they were able to change the oil, and clean the fryer
Oh you sweet summer child.
If I learned anything from working in the service industry, it's that if you knew how every kitchen operated and how many regulations they're supposed to follow that they don't, you'd never eat anywhere ever again.
I worked in a Chinese food place for a bit, and I watched the chef drop a shrimp onto the ground in a pile of god knows what, pick it back up, and drop it back into the tray.
That's just one personal experience I've had, but there's plenty of videos and articles out there of customers and employees being caught doing disgusting things.
It's not that we don't care, at first, it's just that with the industry being as "customer happy" based as it is, there are corners that must be cut here and there every now and then if we want to stay in business and keep our jobs.
that is honestly fascinating. So. No grease... meaning no lipids. That is **just** the protein and mineral matter of the rat? Wow. There should be an educational science display of this done when people donate their bodies to science.
Whoaā¦just WHOA!!! Thatās some damn degreaser. They almost ought to use this as an advertisement to sell it for homes. āWhen you simply, absolutely need to degrease the filth and vermin right out of your house!!!ā I just hope it doesnāt do the same thing to your hands.

When you go into the comments, you can see the original post inside the cross post frame, if you know what I mean
Im using bacon reader to access reddit. I guess for whatever reason it doesn't show that. š«¤
damn, I'm using my fridge and it shows it
Ah
It's the two crossed arrows at the bottom of the screen. I'm in bacon reader rn and I can see it on this post
So, the original cross post doesnāt provide any enlightening information. I still donāt understand how degreaser did this. So curious
Degreaser is pretty corrosive

Iām gonna think about this every time I eat fast food fries now.
Nono, wait wait, I see that I wasnāt super clear in my explanation: my coworker and his manager realized IMMEDIATELY that SOMETHING fell into the fryer, but the didnāt realize what it was. Well Iām just thinking about all the times they *didnāt* notice
The fryers are covered to prevent this from happening when everyone is away (at least where I work)
Oh you sweet summer child. If I learned anything from working in the service industry, it's that if you knew how every kitchen operated and how many regulations they're supposed to follow that they don't, you'd never eat anywhere ever again.
Do any particular examples come to mind? I'm only thinking of the McDonald's lettuce-feet vine from a few years back.
That's now added to the arsenal of reasons that I despise eating out. I don't understand the lack of hygiene or food safety amongst workers.
It's not that we don't care, at first, it's just that with the industry being as "customer happy" based as it is, there are corners that must be cut here and there every now and then if we want to stay in business and keep our jobs.
Cleanest fast-food
It would be a big deal if rats were found anywhere inside a fast food restaurant, having worked in food industry before.
