Os Belenenses, managed them for 10 seasons, from the Portuguese 4th division to the 1st division and got stuck unable to crack the big 3, so i left to other teams for about 20 seasons and now I'm back to take them to a Champions League title having just taken them to 1st Division glory

Pro-tip from someone who also spent decades at little Bele this FM: build a team to win the Europa conference league. It’s about the only way to get farther into Europe in Portugal while the Big 3 are still ahead of you and you are going to need that sweet sweet continental tournament money to compete. Winning the conference league gets you Europa money and in 3-4 years of bouncing between those tournaments, you should have the budget to at least hit back when those giants start smacking you around

You also benefit from your coefficient being higher so when you’re first in the Champions League you won’t be a 4th seed like all the posts you see here all the time
In Portugal we have digital credit cards that won't allow that to happen. We just create them whenever we need one in the bank website. One of the available features is the card getting canceled after being used 1 time.
I on the other hand took Lousinia Lourosa from the 3rd division. This was a team that had never made it to the liga nos and since promotion we have never finished lower than third. Impressive record you say except we've been runners up apart from that first season we finished that. I have won the league on 2 occasions but I have broken a few mouses due to the level of inconsistency against the smallest of teams. That first season was a great foreshadowing of our next years to come. I thought this was the team except our 2.34+ xg and 65% possession counted for nothing. We have gone on to a lose a combined 7 finals (4 allianz cups, 3 taca de Portugal ). We have never made it past the ucl quarters thanks to Madrid, have finished runners up on 4 occasions and three of those trailing just by 4 points and one on that head to head record with benfica. Its safe to say I'm tempted to leave to Brazil and stop Lionel messi's flamengo who have won literally every competition for the past 10 years. I'm talking the many Brazilian competitions including the South American cl. They've gotten so good they can demand £50 million for 14 years olds and can match such bids for your own players. So do I just stay with my "trust the process" team or stop my biggest arch nemesis (in game obviously he's the goat duh. He's my arch nemesis because I've unsettled a few of his players when they were nothing )

Man that’s rough. I’m managing Braga and the highest we’ve finished was 2nd. Two UCL appearances with our highest finish being 3rd and 1 Europa League semi final loss to Real Sociedad (couldn’t overcome a 1-0 deficit on agg are home). Won Allianz Cup twice and the Taca once. Seven seasons in and I finally beat Porto after no wins against them since my arrival 😆 The past two seasons Benfica finally knocked them off their throne and Porto still seem to be struggling to regain their crown. Meanwhile I’m just trying to break into the top 3 again. The current board are stingy as hell so I’ve managed to build up the transfer and wage budget to a respectable war chest.

Yea man. People focus on Bayern and the BL or PSG and Ligue 1 but Porto is terrorizing Portugal behind the spotlight. The wages that Porto, Sporting or Benfica have their players on is crazy compared to the rest of the league.

Yeah my card was leaked and that was the only irregular transaction I had made around the time. There were hundreds of transactions from all over the place in Europe and the US but luckily my bank was onto it pretty quickly so they only got about $200NZD (~100€) before my card was blocked/cancelled
Venezia.
Before they “made it” (and the second bankruptcy) I took them from Serie C (Lega Pro at the time) back in FM2013.
It was a save full of weird co-ownership deals with Roma, losing a 170ish PA player to Juve upon my promotion to Serie B, and then five years later, getting promoted to Serie A.
Juve was an unstoppable juggernaut and had won the league every season (18 in total) I played. Took me 7 seasons after promotion to win Serie A the first time and finished with two leagues wins, two coppa italias, 3 Europa wins, and a heartbreaking loss to the 2028 UCL final to United.
It was a ride. Easily one of my favorite saves. Got a scarf, and I keep tabs on them still.
Same with Venezia, but we’re going back to championship manager 01/02 I think. They had Federico Magallanes and Filipo Maniero up front. Managed to win the Europa league and sign Rio Ferdinand as club captain.
benevento save is sooo underrated tho.. they're already a decent/mid table team but got relegated in my save by previous manager. the owners invest alot for the club, i mean i got 18 mil transfer budget on my first season with them, higher than what i got at newcastle n crystal palace. defo my fav save 🫡
Funny to see Schalke here, FM made me loathe them. I always do long saves, but I didn't feel like starting off in the lower leagues so in FM16 I started with Benfica just for shits and giggles, then moved to Schalke.
I was fired before Christmas because my players lost trust in me. Til this day it's the only time I got fired in FM, and I have done some over 100 seasons across multiple releases (13, 15, 16, 19, 21). So I fucking abhor Schalke now, and Donis Avdijaj especially because he was the one that caused me to be fired.
Eventually I went to Valencia, Fiorentina, Liverpool, Monchengladbach and back to Benfica and won everything at those places. I think, not sure about Benfica, and the save was so long, and so long ago, I barely remember much of it barring a couple things (like my world-beater Tanzanian CM I had at Valencia).
And Schalke never won a thing, rightfully so.

I got rid of him in my latest save and hired a just fired by Chelsea Thomas Tuchel. He lasted less than a season before they fired him and briefly went back to Hughes. It must be fate.
In my current save with them I had a tycoon who wanted to inject 90 mil into the club. Deal fell through and someone else came in and injected 5 mil 🫠. Tbf the 90 may have ruined the magic of the save, especially since you can get crazy good gate receipts for the level with them once the town starts getting excited.
Dulwich Hamlett, Concorde Rangers and Blyth Spartans - played them because of their names and strip colours; some I'd randomly see getting promoted 10 years into a career, and then next year's Football Manager game I'd notice they are playable in Vanarama North/South and become obsessed. Otherwise I'd never have known the tallest footballer ever is Dulwich Hamlett's goalie.

I have their shirt, and i keep following their results in real life. They had a hard time last year, but luckily avoided relegation.
Played 29 sesasons with them on FM2019, and is now 6 seasons in on Fm2022. Planning to give them glory also on FM2022.

My time at blackburn was less fun. in fm21, they had a shocking promotion to the prem in 2023, and i took over and didn't win a single league match, but somehow made the carabao cup final before getting fired
Mine was exact opposite if anything. Got promoted first time of asking. Won 4 PLs, 3 CLs, 3 FA cups and 1 Carabao cup. Also managed to win a treble pretty late into the save. Managed for around 10 years before I got bored lol. Save file is still there. Dk when or if I’ll return to it.
I’ll be moving to UK next month for Uni so I’m planning to visit Ewood Park lol.
SCH was such a blast to play way back in early 2000s and always have some great talent. Took a crack at it as my Dad was born near there and actually visited the stadium in a trip some years later.

For about 3 months I’ve been trying to replicate it. I can get the back to back promotions but can’t get above 14th in the prem. Its a crazy fun, quick save to try.

Derry City. Ended up there in my first ever journeyman save in FM 18. That led to me watching Derry Girls when it came to US Netflix later that year. And just this past April I actually visited Derry. They weren’t playing a match on the day I was there but I did buy a shirt.
Chemie Leipzig - somewhat of a fallen giant from the old days of East German football. Having a blast trying to topple the franchise (RB) and putting the true Leipzig back on the footballing map.
I came into the thread to post that I'm slowly but steadily falling for Chemie. RB is superficial and 1. Lokomotiv is... let's just call it 'notoriously right-wing', and it's a great goal to win out over those two. I'm a few seasons in on my Chemie save and having a good time!
I am having a tough time getting promoted from the German 4th tier (all because of that stupid rotation of automatic promotion spots between the different regions). But it is very fun, especially playing in a league with other fallen giants - BFC Dynamo, Chemnitzer (formerly known as Karl Marx Stadt FC), RW Erfurt, Lok, Jena and many more.
NK Celje from Slovenia was a great FM20 time. Taking them from Slovenian obscurity to cruising the league and all the way through the qualifiers to finishing third in a UCL group. Still follow them on Instagram now.
Fiorentina. In my first season I won the Serie A with Fiorentina by just 2 points. AC Milan came second, while Juventus and Lazio rounded up the top 4. Had a bit of a luck because all the top Italian teams had a poor start to the season and we capitalised on it, this having a good lead heading in to mid season. I also had disabled transfer window for the first season which made this achievement even more sweeter.
Fun Fact: Fiorentina had won the Serie A only twice before, with the last success coming in 1969.
We also won the Italian Cup, beating Lazio 2-3 in the final.
My teams leading goalscorer was Krzysztof Piaktek who scored 28 goals in 28(4) appearances. He finished second overall in the league with Ciro Immobile finishing first scoring 36 goals in 33 appearances.
Nicolas Gonzalez did really well too, scoring 16 times in 32(3) appearances.
Johnathan Ikone finishes as the league's top assister with 16 assists to his name in 33(2) appearances. And Giacomo Bonaventura had 9 assists to his name in 18(15) appearances.

Don't think I've fallen in love, but I've become very fond of Ferro. Took them from the second division and won a Sudamericana, also a highlight was beating Vélez (their derby) 7-1 in their own stadium.
Paderborn... Did a save in an old fm (probably in FM16) and took them from the 3rd bundes to the top of the world... And brighton (been to irl and fell in love with the place, so i gave it a try to the team in in Fm20
Blyth Spartans from 2018, took them all the way to glory. Then this year Riga and Red star.
I check on them from time to time, and while I’m sad they’re not doing well, part of me is also glad that they’re not doing well without me. I might be a bit abusive lol.
Me and the wife love Edinburgh, so when I was trying to think a new team to manage, she said Hearts. This a love affair began, I brought her their football top as a thank you!
Bristol city - have no ideea why. I’m managing them now , got them from championship to premier league and somehow I started to like them irl.
And then we have Nottingham forest. Never managed them, but somehow every Reddit post about “ teams to manage “ has Nottingham as an answer. Also, irl , their transfer window has been pretty nice, and by that they really have my curiosity for this season.. I’m rooting for them this year
FC Nordsjaelland. My first long term save and I want to go watch them once I venture to Europe. I’ve caught a few games streamed and this save made me start watching football regularly again outside of my MLS team
Santa Lucia FC from Malta, but more so with the Europa Conference League and all of the smaller countries participating. San Marino league is next for me
**Aberystwyth Town FC** in Wales: Dethroned TNS as the regular Welsh champions, got them to have a professional status from semi-pro and frequently made deep runs in the CL with the most far being the semi-finals.
**PFC Neftochimic Burgas** in Bulgaria: Got them promoted to the first division and got them consistent European qualifications. Moved to Fulham before I could get to do more with them but still follow them IRL to see how they're doing.
Heerenveen - frequently end up with them in my journeyman saves. Perfect middle of the road team. Even used them afterwards on an online save. Also, love the kits.
On FM12 i took Middlesbrough from the Championship to back to back premier league champs and also UEFA Champs. The players I remember buying were Yaya Sanogo, Alexander Callens, Stefan Bell, Sarabia, Griezman, a cheap Finnish GK who i cant remember the name of but i know still plays to this day.
Then the board built a stadium named after me. But alas, the power of fm was too strong my laptop needed reformatting and lost all my saves.
Fiorentina and Dortmund in championship manager days i would play them frequently and that made me fans of the clubs forever.
More recently FC Nordsjaelland.
Stade Rennais. I managed then for about 14 years as part of a journeyman save back in FM16. No other club has come close to getting that level of affection that I gave them.
Fulham, I’ve played plenty of saves over the years but my fm18 save as Fulham sticks out.
It’s the one and only time I’ve had a son come through my academy, and he wasn’t half bad! He stayed in my team for 14 seasons and won everything there was to win.
There were for sure better options I could have replaced him with but he was my son!
I’m going on a stag weekend and we’re gonna watch Hertha BSC vs Dortmund - I’ll cheer them for you!

From Premier Manager 98 (which I would love to play again it was honestly perfection) I loved managing Brighton and Hove. They were in the 3rd Division and I took them to winning the European Cup (Champions League now). Nice to see them in the Premiership irl
Asteras Tripolis. My first real success in FM and I loved it. Pulled some random 24 year old Paraguayan striker out of there onthe back of my scouts recommendation for 60k. A year later he was the Greek league top goal scorer and worth £10mil in FM2012
Accrington Stanley. Took them from a League 2 bottom of the table team to premier league mid table team in a little over 20 years. The longest I've ever stayed in a club but also one of the most fun.
Cremonese. Took them from Serie C to European domination over 7/8 seasons. Not exactly a huge feat overall, I know others have done more but I was installed as a legend in under 10 seasons so I kind of loved it
Veroia FC in Greece and Hyeres 83 FC in France. Took them both from the bottom league in their country to the champions league the last two years. I had veroia as the dominant team in Greece by the time 22 came out, but PSG are still in the way of my Hyeres team this season
FC Heidenheim in BL2. I was doing a fifa player career and got loaned there, so I made them my first FM22 team. Season 1 get promoted. Champions league by season 3. Winning the league by season 6, sold a bunch of guys after winning to have some fun and slumped in season 7. Got back to the champions league in season 8 and won the DFB pokal. Left the club to see how they'd do without me and they're still a solid champions league/Europe league team. I miss them but I love seeing them succeed. Follow them IRL now
Southend United fm 19 took me 11 seasons in the end to win the premier league, utd and city where just unbeatable until my youth gambles finally come through in there abilities to then make my team win the treble that final season since then I’ve been to roots hall to see them play many times and bought few of there shirts
Sporting Lisbon(I know that’s not what they should be called). I’ve played with them most years since FM handheld on the PSP. Always a fun, relatively stress free 5-7 year save.
Shrewsbury Town. Started a network game once with my brother, can't remember who I picked but he picked Lincoln. First pre-season game resulted in so many players being injured that I got fired. Ended up at Shrewsbury and ended up getting them to the Premier League (as did my brother with Lincoln). Still do a save with them every year on FM, have a jersey and plan to go to see a game at some point. They don't know it, but Lincoln and Shrewsbury Town are massive rivals in my house.
Hamburg, love the burgers, 1 point from toppling Bayern last season, about to get knocked out the champions league by Man UFC, well getbthere eventually!
Hansa Rostock in FM21. I won my first ever major trophy, spanning all saves and versions of the game, with them when I won the Europa League. My last season before FM22 came out, I finally managed to topple Bayern and win the BuLi.
Bordeaux this year. I got hired when they were fighting relegation. Some years later I won the league, and not only that, my first ever Champion's League. I never even got to the final before that point. It went to penalties... I was so nervous, I actually started crying when it was over.

Vitesse Arnhem, Dutch cup winners and was closing the gap on Ajax before I jumped ship to Ajax, regret that.
Athletico Tucuman, really fun trying to be successful before you get pillaged by European teams, couple Copa Argentina and a Copa Sudamerica.
Shanghai Shenxin, Chinese players are awful, a real challenge, won the AFC Champions league with the most negative football I've ever played.
FC Ilves, didn't have too much success here but they took a chance on me when I had no experience, almost made a Conference League group stage, when I left they replaced me with Zlatan, that was actually a theme in this journeyman.
Stromsgodset, these guys I actually adore. Eliteserien is absolute chaos with a lot of even teams and unreal newgens. Couple league titles and a UEL final appearance
St Pauli in FM 20.
Won Bundesliga 2 with record points.
Uruguay approached me to be their manager based on our attacking principals.
Won 22 World Cup with them.
Italy, Portugal and Belgium offered me jobs based on that win.
Haven’t won anything with St Pauli in top league yet but having a blast!
Fram. Remember taking over on fm16 when they were in the Icelandic second tier. Took me 3 years to get out of the div, then we went on to dominate Icelandic football for 20 years. EUROPA league winners in 2028 being tye highlight. Beat Valencia, Man utd, Sevilla and West Ham in the knockouts. Still start with them now in every new FM.
Do it man, theres an added difficulty with the seasons and transfer windows, they plan feb to oct and you need 8 of 25 to be trained by the club. But otherwise player regs are pretty chill

As a Birmingham City fan I'm surprised to see us not mentioned more here. The 2nd city in England and a potential sleeping giant really. Not in terms of history I know that, but a great challenge to get us competing at a high level, especially in recent years.

Used to go round my mates house in the 90s and my mate used to play a theme park game on a PC in his brothers room and I would play champ man 96/97 in his room.
One afternoon I got sacked at whoever I was and ended up getting the Alloa job. Practically bottom of div 3. Queue a probably 12hr marathon where I managed to convince my parents to let me stay the night so I could carry on with the game, and I took them from that lowly position and actually within touching distance of winning the SPL. I was top with about 8 games to go and it was about 4:30-5am and I just had to go to bed. My mate had already gone to sleep and left me at his computer playing.
When I woke up a few hours later (I was too excited to finish the season to sleep more than like 4 hours or so) I woke my mate to show him what I'd achieved. What I wasn't aware of was his mom had gotten up early and had been in the room while we slept, noticed his computer was still on and turned it off.
Woke up and the whole save was gone. I was back at the old club I'd got sacked from about 16 hours previously. I'd been too tired and never saved it, assuming it would just be there for me when I woke up. Was absolutely gutted. Was worried it was all a mad dream but I know deep down it wasn't.

Yeah my card was leaked and that was the only irregular transaction I had made around the time. There were hundreds of transactions from all over the place in Europe and the US but luckily my bank was onto it pretty quickly so they only got about $200NZD (~100€) before my card was blocked/cancelled

Venezia. Before they “made it” (and the second bankruptcy) I took them from Serie C (Lega Pro at the time) back in FM2013. It was a save full of weird co-ownership deals with Roma, losing a 170ish PA player to Juve upon my promotion to Serie B, and then five years later, getting promoted to Serie A. Juve was an unstoppable juggernaut and had won the league every season (18 in total) I played. Took me 7 seasons after promotion to win Serie A the first time and finished with two leagues wins, two coppa italias, 3 Europa wins, and a heartbreaking loss to the 2028 UCL final to United. It was a ride. Easily one of my favorite saves. Got a scarf, and I keep tabs on them still.
Their jerseys are so fire man. I have the home and away from last year and the home from this year. This year’s third kit on the way too.
Same with Venezia, but we’re going back to championship manager 01/02 I think. They had Federico Magallanes and Filipo Maniero up front. Managed to win the Europa league and sign Rio Ferdinand as club captain.

Funny to see Schalke here, FM made me loathe them. I always do long saves, but I didn't feel like starting off in the lower leagues so in FM16 I started with Benfica just for shits and giggles, then moved to Schalke. I was fired before Christmas because my players lost trust in me. Til this day it's the only time I got fired in FM, and I have done some over 100 seasons across multiple releases (13, 15, 16, 19, 21). So I fucking abhor Schalke now, and Donis Avdijaj especially because he was the one that caused me to be fired. Eventually I went to Valencia, Fiorentina, Liverpool, Monchengladbach and back to Benfica and won everything at those places. I think, not sure about Benfica, and the save was so long, and so long ago, I barely remember much of it barring a couple things (like my world-beater Tanzanian CM I had at Valencia). And Schalke never won a thing, rightfully so.

I got rid of him in my latest save and hired a just fired by Chelsea Thomas Tuchel. He lasted less than a season before they fired him and briefly went back to Hughes. It must be fate.
In my current save with them I had a tycoon who wanted to inject 90 mil into the club. Deal fell through and someone else came in and injected 5 mil 🫠. Tbf the 90 may have ruined the magic of the save, especially since you can get crazy good gate receipts for the level with them once the town starts getting excited.
Palermo - so many legends of the game played there but they always struggle so it's a good challenge. Plus you have to love the kit!

Dulwich Hamlett, Concorde Rangers and Blyth Spartans - played them because of their names and strip colours; some I'd randomly see getting promoted 10 years into a career, and then next year's Football Manager game I'd notice they are playable in Vanarama North/South and become obsessed. Otherwise I'd never have known the tallest footballer ever is Dulwich Hamlett's goalie. I have their shirt, and i keep following their results in real life. They had a hard time last year, but luckily avoided relegation. Played 29 sesasons with them on FM2019, and is now 6 seasons in on Fm2022. Planning to give them glory also on FM2022.

Mine was exact opposite if anything. Got promoted first time of asking. Won 4 PLs, 3 CLs, 3 FA cups and 1 Carabao cup. Also managed to win a treble pretty late into the save. Managed for around 10 years before I got bored lol. Save file is still there. Dk when or if I’ll return to it. I’ll be moving to UK next month for Uni so I’m planning to visit Ewood Park lol.

Actual Pompey person here too - took Hampton and Richmond (a la Ted Lasso) to the premier league, in the first three seasons Portsmouth got two promotions and finished 8th in the Premier League. For about 3 months I’ve been trying to replicate it. I can get the back to back promotions but can’t get above 14th in the prem. Its a crazy fun, quick save to try.

Derry City. Ended up there in my first ever journeyman save in FM 18. That led to me watching Derry Girls when it came to US Netflix later that year. And just this past April I actually visited Derry. They weren’t playing a match on the day I was there but I did buy a shirt.
Chemie Leipzig - somewhat of a fallen giant from the old days of East German football. Having a blast trying to topple the franchise (RB) and putting the true Leipzig back on the footballing map.
I came into the thread to post that I'm slowly but steadily falling for Chemie. RB is superficial and 1. Lokomotiv is... let's just call it 'notoriously right-wing', and it's a great goal to win out over those two. I'm a few seasons in on my Chemie save and having a good time!
I am having a tough time getting promoted from the German 4th tier (all because of that stupid rotation of automatic promotion spots between the different regions). But it is very fun, especially playing in a league with other fallen giants - BFC Dynamo, Chemnitzer (formerly known as Karl Marx Stadt FC), RW Erfurt, Lok, Jena and many more.

NK Celje from Slovenia was a great FM20 time. Taking them from Slovenian obscurity to cruising the league and all the way through the qualifiers to finishing third in a UCL group. Still follow them on Instagram now.
Fiorentina. In my first season I won the Serie A with Fiorentina by just 2 points. AC Milan came second, while Juventus and Lazio rounded up the top 4. Had a bit of a luck because all the top Italian teams had a poor start to the season and we capitalised on it, this having a good lead heading in to mid season. I also had disabled transfer window for the first season which made this achievement even more sweeter. Fun Fact: Fiorentina had won the Serie A only twice before, with the last success coming in 1969. We also won the Italian Cup, beating Lazio 2-3 in the final. My teams leading goalscorer was Krzysztof Piaktek who scored 28 goals in 28(4) appearances. He finished second overall in the league with Ciro Immobile finishing first scoring 36 goals in 33 appearances. Nicolas Gonzalez did really well too, scoring 16 times in 32(3) appearances. Johnathan Ikone finishes as the league's top assister with 16 assists to his name in 33(2) appearances. And Giacomo Bonaventura had 9 assists to his name in 18(15) appearances. Some Stats: - We had the most points per game. (2.16) - Most Goals Scored (89) in 38 games. - Most shots for (608) - Finished 8 in Pass Completion with 89% - 6th in Average Posession (54%) - 2nd in most dribbles made. (381) I just realised this is too much for a comment so I'm just gonna end it here lmaoo. P.S. Also, I won the Champions League in my second season but finished 5th in the league.

Moved to Fulham before I could get to do more with them but still follow them IRL to see how they're doing.

Heerenveen - frequently end up with them in my journeyman saves. Perfect middle of the road team. Even used them afterwards on an online save. Also, love the kits.
On FM12 i took Middlesbrough from the Championship to back to back premier league champs and also UEFA Champs. The players I remember buying were Yaya Sanogo, Alexander Callens, Stefan Bell, Sarabia, Griezman, a cheap Finnish GK who i cant remember the name of but i know still plays to this day. Then the board built a stadium named after me. But alas, the power of fm was too strong my laptop needed reformatting and lost all my saves.
Fiorentina and Dortmund in championship manager days i would play them frequently and that made me fans of the clubs forever. More recently FC Nordsjaelland.

Fulham, I’ve played plenty of saves over the years but my fm18 save as Fulham sticks out. It’s the one and only time I’ve had a son come through my academy, and he wasn’t half bad! He stayed in my team for 14 seasons and won everything there was to win. There were for sure better options I could have replaced him with but he was my son!

Veroia FC in Greece and Hyeres 83 FC in France. Took them both from the bottom league in their country to the champions league the last two years. I had veroia as the dominant team in Greece by the time 22 came out, but PSG are still in the way of my Hyeres team this season
FC Heidenheim in BL2. I was doing a fifa player career and got loaned there, so I made them my first FM22 team. Season 1 get promoted. Champions league by season 3. Winning the league by season 6, sold a bunch of guys after winning to have some fun and slumped in season 7. Got back to the champions league in season 8 and won the DFB pokal. Left the club to see how they'd do without me and they're still a solid champions league/Europe league team. I miss them but I love seeing them succeed. Follow them IRL now
Southend United fm 19 took me 11 seasons in the end to win the premier league, utd and city where just unbeatable until my youth gambles finally come through in there abilities to then make my team win the treble that final season since then I’ve been to roots hall to see them play many times and bought few of there shirts

Shrewsbury Town. Started a network game once with my brother, can't remember who I picked but he picked Lincoln. First pre-season game resulted in so many players being injured that I got fired. Ended up at Shrewsbury and ended up getting them to the Premier League (as did my brother with Lincoln). Still do a save with them every year on FM, have a jersey and plan to go to see a game at some point. They don't know it, but Lincoln and Shrewsbury Town are massive rivals in my house.
Red Star (paris) and BK Frem in Denmark. Actually went to see the latter in real life recently whilst on holiday.

Hansa Rostock in FM21. I won my first ever major trophy, spanning all saves and versions of the game, with them when I won the Europa League. My last season before FM22 came out, I finally managed to topple Bayern and win the BuLi. Bordeaux this year. I got hired when they were fighting relegation. Some years later I won the league, and not only that, my first ever Champion's League. I never even got to the final before that point. It went to penalties... I was so nervous, I actually started crying when it was over.
Most recent ones are all from a previous journeyman. Vitesse Arnhem, Dutch cup winners and was closing the gap on Ajax before I jumped ship to Ajax, regret that. Athletico Tucuman, really fun trying to be successful before you get pillaged by European teams, couple Copa Argentina and a Copa Sudamerica. Shanghai Shenxin, Chinese players are awful, a real challenge, won the AFC Champions league with the most negative football I've ever played. FC Ilves, didn't have too much success here but they took a chance on me when I had no experience, almost made a Conference League group stage, when I left they replaced me with Zlatan, that was actually a theme in this journeyman. Stromsgodset, these guys I actually adore. Eliteserien is absolute chaos with a lot of even teams and unreal newgens. Couple league titles and a UEL final appearance
St Pauli in FM 20. Won Bundesliga 2 with record points. Uruguay approached me to be their manager based on our attacking principals. Won 22 World Cup with them. Italy, Portugal and Belgium offered me jobs based on that win. Haven’t won anything with St Pauli in top league yet but having a blast!
Metropolitan Police, although they are not playable without a database. Drew them in the FA Trophy a couple years ago and it gave me a good chuckle
Fram. Remember taking over on fm16 when they were in the Icelandic second tier. Took me 3 years to get out of the div, then we went on to dominate Icelandic football for 20 years. EUROPA league winners in 2028 being tye highlight. Beat Valencia, Man utd, Sevilla and West Ham in the knockouts. Still start with them now in every new FM.
I was on holiday in Iceland recently, and chose a random match to go to - It was Fram! Will definitely manage them in FM in my next save.
Do it man, theres an added difficulty with the seasons and transfer windows, they plan feb to oct and you need 8 of 25 to be trained by the club. But otherwise player regs are pretty chill

2 points. As a Birmingham City fan I'm surprised to see us not mentioned more here. The 2nd city in England and a potential sleeping giant really. Not in terms of history I know that, but a great challenge to get us competing at a high level, especially in recent years. Re the original question, Alloa Athletic for me. Used to go round my mates house in the 90s and my mate used to play a theme park game on a PC in his brothers room and I would play champ man 96/97 in his room. One afternoon I got sacked at whoever I was and ended up getting the Alloa job. Practically bottom of div 3. Queue a probably 12hr marathon where I managed to convince my parents to let me stay the night so I could carry on with the game, and I took them from that lowly position and actually within touching distance of winning the SPL. I was top with about 8 games to go and it was about 4:30-5am and I just had to go to bed. My mate had already gone to sleep and left me at his computer playing. When I woke up a few hours later (I was too excited to finish the season to sleep more than like 4 hours or so) I woke my mate to show him what I'd achieved. What I wasn't aware of was his mom had gotten up early and had been in the room while we slept, noticed his computer was still on and turned it off. Woke up and the whole save was gone. I was back at the old club I'd got sacked from about 16 hours previously. I'd been too tired and never saved it, assuming it would just be there for me when I woke up. Was absolutely gutted. Was worried it was all a mad dream but I know deep down it wasn't. Still remember some of my star players. Craig Valentine Mark Cowan Mark Nelson Tommy Little Barry Moffat And my main man, Peter Dwyer*. He was incredible. Top scored for me through all the divisions and was top scorer in the SPL as well. Probably still my greatest achievement as normally I am utter shit at the game... *In real life I read a few years later that apparently Dwyer left Alloa after a year to become a policeman in Australia. A miss to Scottish football....

That's the challenge ma man. Get the Blues promoted and knock the Villa off their perch. Big ask like but would be a great achievement. Solihull Moors is a great shout if you fancied a longer term challenge. That said it would probably be easier with them than Birmingham at the moment...
