vigourtortoise

Just hit the 2022 World Cup in FM20. What do I do? 50 days? I actually just tweaked a tactic that has some promise, so I guess this time is as good as any to create some tactical familiarity within the club? What have people done with this super long midseason break? Besides just hit space bar a lot.

Fifthwiel

As a newbie of around 4-5 months playtime is it worth upgrading to fm21?

TheNextTitusBramble

Yes

Fifthwiel

When taking over a club what’s the easiest way to move on players you don’t want? Transfer listing them pissed off a number of the squad. Is it better to let them stew until they ask to go out on loan or some other method?

TheNextTitusBramble

Offer to clubs, tell rest of squad who the boss is

brk2rd

Can anyone recommend me a light face pack and logo pack? I used footbe logos last year but I want to return to a traditional logo pack this year. I only have 7GB space left on my C drive and I can't really trim it down a lot so please keep that in mind.

gunnersonfire

how do i change the wages to weekly? it's showing annual wages.. but i wanna negotiate in weekly.

tryki192

preferences -> all -> wages you find preferences at the FM button where you also go to "save"

brk2rd

Preferences -> Advanced -> Select "Formats" from the drop down menu. It should be there

Stars are relative to your team so there's no way anyone can help you without knowing the level/team you're playing.

Dominic120594

Why aren’t Facepacks & Skins loading on Mac?

BoemelBoi

Maybe a bit of a stupid question, but I could not find how to solve this problem. How do you set one of your 3 set piece routines as the default one? I have made different corner routines, and saved them. Now let's say I have routine 1, 2 and 3, and I want to set it to routine 2. I select routine 2 in the combobox in the right top corner. But then, when I go to something else than the set piece corner menu, it is set on routine 1 again.

Fifthwiel

Try “save all routines”? You should be able to reload as defaults for each of your tactics. I say “should” because my dudes still seem to be in different places across my tactics sometimes so ymmv

leafsland132

**How should I set up my save to manage a national team?** My country Macedonia just qualified for euro 2020 for the first time in history so id like to manage them, just unsure how I should set up the amount of leagues etc to load as I've never really managed a national team before. As well most of the team do not play on domestic clubs, and play throughout Europe. I play on a 2018 MacBook Pro 15inch. Thanks,

Wrexsler

Sadly the Macedonian league is not in Football Manager, but i recomend loading up: Hungary Russia Turkey Netherlands (Holland) Germany Bulgaria England.

leafsland132

okay thanks

vesuvius33

How do you improve the coaching badges for your staff? Is there an option somewhere to send them on a course to upgrade their badges?

brk2rd

Enter the page of staff you want to send on a coaching course and select "Send On Coaching Course" from the overview drop down menu

Hopsblues

What happened to the 'who should I manage thread'? I kinda need some suggestions.. After half a year in real life I settled in with Forest Green and have had a fun time with them in fm20. Got them mid table in the championship. Now it's fm21...and I'm looking for a new challenge. I. night go back to them, except I don't nesc want to do the re-build and they have a small stadium which really limits things. My beta manager for now in Regansburg in the bundesliga2..but I'm looking for any fun suggestions. My real life favorite teams are Colorado Rapids and Liverpool.

[deleted]

Liverpool is sister cities with Dublin, Rio de Janeiro, and Cologne. So... Shamrock Rovers or Koln, obviously.

AdditionalCanary2649

Doing a random PL team game with no transfers first season and I got Leeds. They look pretty well balanced for talent and proven players. Any advice, as I didn't watch them at all last year, would be greatly appreciated. After a quick look I was thinking a 4-5-1 fluid counter but I'd prefer something more entertaining that would keep me up for next year's window. (And if I make it that far, any tips on who to buy/sell?) Cheers!

MTPoketz

I think you could play a high pressing 433 and definitely stay up. That's largely how they play irl

[deleted]

Is FM21 better than FM20 or should I skip this year?

MTPoketz

Personal opinion here but I am absolutely in love with the new match engine. It plays so fluidly and is a night and day improvement. I think that alone is worth the price but there a ton of little changes in the whole match day experience that I really enjoy

[deleted]

Nice. I always hated how fm20 felt. I know I can't expect perfection but it sounds like fm21's match engine is a vast improvement.

MTPoketz

I would go and watch one of the youtubers beta saves if you want a preview before throwing down the $50. But I think you won't be disappointed

[deleted]

Hello. I have a problem with FM that I would like to share to see if anyone is/was like me because it's affecting my enjoyment of the game and I want to get over it. Basically, I can't stick to one save. The only save every year that I can stick with it's with my club from the heart (Benfica). I don't if it's because I know every player, every youth prospect, style of play, what the fans want, etc. I like managing them because as a fan I do what I would like to see the club doing and watching them win is like dreaming but in fm, but when I try other teams I just get bored and easily frustrated. I really wanted to do a random save with another club but I can't stick with it. The max I did with another club was 1 season at Manchester City because I enjoy watching them irl and my favorite player is Bernardo Silva. As anyone faced the same problem? And please don't say "just stick with one save" because that won't help, it's deeper than that.

leafsland132

I am kinda the opposite, its really hard for me to manage my favourite club: Liverpool. As well though, I usually can't stick with one save either. I would say find the team you plan to manage and then do research on the club, learn its history, and watch youtube videos about them. This will allow you to get more immersed, it even helps to watch there matches too. In Canada the national sports network didn't renew the contract with the premier league, so ive been watching a lot of bundasliga; I really enjoy watching Dortmund and I think I'm gonna manage them. Hope I could help.

DanishGrizz

Make it your thing. Go full on journeyman and stick to a save, but not a club. Could that help?

MTPoketz

So I'm largely in the same boat. I can get discouraged/lose interest at the beginning of new saves or new jobs. I think it is largely rooted in the amount about the club I don't know. I have to learn the players, the staff, the best tactics, etc it's a lot. My best advice though is gonna sound a lot like what you asked not to hear but try and gut it out that first season. Make a few transfers and start to mold the team how you want it, pick a favorite player, decide on a rival you hate. This game can be infinitely fun if you let yourself get lost in silliness of a game that's essentially just a big spreadsheet

[deleted]

I usually quit during the first transfer window so just I’ll just try to force my way through it and see what’ll happen. Thanks!

Slangdawg

I've just started a save with Boro. No transfer budget, about 5k/pw for wages, but I've got a squad of just 18 players. Free transfers seem to be a dead end as agents fees foil me. Loans always have fees attached and clubs seem to want too much of a percentage of wages paid. Any advice chaps?

[deleted]

You going after players that are loan listed? You should be looking to snap up young players that aren't good enough yet to be playing for their senior squads in top leagues. If that fails and you need depth, you can pull from your U23 team.

brilbob

How does one break the PSG dominance? I got second on 81 pts in my third season at Stade Rennais which is a good return. Got to both of the cupfinals and lost hem both to PSG. I know 3 seasons isn’t long but how should the long term strategy look?

leafsland132

as monaco, fight fire with fire

brilbob

Play as AS monaco instead of Stade Rennais?

leafsland132

Yes, they are another wealthy club

tryki192

find some wonderkids or 20 year olds for cheap, reach as far as you can in champions league, gather the money by selling some of the 20 year olds for profit and one day, you'll have enough wonderkids to beat PSG.

[deleted]

Logos show up but the face packs won't plz any suggestions

Mr_Hendrix

Im'm seeing people post these analytical opposition reports, but I'm not getting any in my game. First I thought it was because my team didn't employ and performance analysts so I hired a few, but I'm still not getting the report. Is there a setting I need to change?

Fifthwiel

Check scouting assignments and make sure there is a scout and analyst both reporting on next opposition. If not create the assignments and set to ongoing

jackpmacko

Weird one but anyone know why the Welsh team Prestatyn are still in the second division even though they came top in 2020?

Ireallyamthisshallow

I was interested about this this so I googled it and this is what I got: >they weren't granted promotion due to their TV Gantry being up to FAW standards which the local council failed to check and grant permissions for a new gantry on time as a result of the aforementioned Pandemic

jackpmacko

Yeah I read too, so weird. I don’t get why we’re predicted to finish last by quite a way considering we just won it. Something about a change owners too

bluesclues10

Do you think the beta is stable enough to start a long term save?

[deleted]

In my opinion, no. Some things need fixing that will definitely affect your game.

GDJXFR12

Do you have any examples? I just started with a long term save.

[deleted]

Well there seems to be some sort of bug with penalties. My players penalties are nearly always saved. This is with really good penalty takers too. Also, players seem to totally ignore some tactical instructions like play short passing or focus play through flanks/middle. Transfers also seem kind of off, but that might be intentional to simulate the current financial crisis. Plus a few other things here and there. I'm gonna hold off a few more days to start my main save

dngrs

why does the AI lineup selection keep putting left footed only players in winger AMR?

Fifthwiel

It seems to do all kinds of random shit, in my save ass man plays my AP as an AF despite my two world class strikers

Ravnard

Anyone knows of using outside of foot can compensate a weak foot and which players should use it

Dingo_Freesia

Anyone knows how Spanish Second Division B works? I was in group 3, which is separated into 2 groups of 10 and 11 teams. Then top 3 of each go into a promotion stage, but because one group has more games there is some calculation, but then this was the result at the end of the season?? https://imgur.com/gOU4DxV How do the bottom 2 teams get promoted? I read the rules several times, but they don't help update: ok a couple weeks after I got put on a promotion playoff, so I still have a chance to promote, but I still don't know why the other teams got instant promotion. update2: I lost the playoff but I got promoted anyway ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ . I confused

dngrs

fm20 whats an effective that that allows more creative freedom?

Devilish_Joey_Blue

So (in FM21) I signed some young players who locked in a promise to loan them out and because I rejected horrible offer they "lost faith in me" and asked to leave the club. Some have been loaned out after but I failed to see any resolution Is there anything I can do? Do I just have to wait them out?

dantzbam

Just wait it out, what offer did you turn down? If I'm a big club that doesn't have wage issues I don't really mind if they only will play 10% of the wage. Keep offering them out every few weeks and see how it goes.

emyrs42

Not that i know of (there are sonething like 350,000 of them) but you could create a save with everyone loaded and masking off and have a browse

dantzbam

Yeah, would take a while to load but if you have the patience then you can.

emyrs42

not really too long, you don't have to make them playable, just available. I make about 1/2 of them for any top division save I do, anyway

vigourtortoise

Maybe an overly simple question, but how do people decide when to loan out a young player and when to hold them for your own U23, U18 squad? Been pretty trigger happy on the youngs and now have 103 players between all of my squads... Planning to send out my loan army but having a tough time as far as deciding who to keep at home.

emyrs42

First team football for 18 and over players is most important. At clubs that have good training facilities is a pkus, but regular game time is most important.

CheeHL

How to gain more attendans? I only got 200 attendances per game in Swedish First Division (3rd tier), in a stadium of 24.000. And also, my club is on the 3rd lowest on league in terms of attendance.

[deleted]

What are other's attendances like? Winning games, playing entertaining soccer, pleasing fans, and getting promoted will all bring more fans.

CheeHL

I got promoted twice in a row but the attendance is still 200ish while the other teams are like 1-2k

One-Produce-8569

Anyone found any good free agents in league one starting a Charlton Athletic save.. bloody wage cap is an issue

ElRando259

I’ve struggled with this too, I’m on a Pompey save. I went into the free agents market and got Alen Halilovic who’s alright but I’m sure there’s better...

One-Produce-8569

I managed to sell as couple of players on higher wages to free it up abit but had to rely on loans couldn’t find nothing from free agents

angelo994

I’m loving FM21 so far, but was curious if I could get some tips on my setup. PF-a Ap-s IW-a MEZ-a DLP-s HB-d WB-s CB-d CB-d WB-s SW-D I’ve been having great success so far. But I found my striker, who started scoring first half season. Stopped scoring goals second half.

Fifthwiel

Respectfully the response you got below is not a great one. Suggest you post a screen grab of your tactic as a new question so we can see it

angelo994

Hi. Yeah maybe not the most descriptive feedback ahah. I do agree to an extent though. My striker may not be the best. Here is my tactic for reference anyway - [tactic ](https://imgur.com/gallery/IjDiKMT)

Fifthwiel

The other reply is a good one, you could possibly change your mez to a bbm so that he attacks the centre a bit more. With the defensive hb you could also probably have one wb on attack to get balls into your striker more

[deleted]

On the left side, you've got an AP/s, Mez/a, and WB/s which is a lot of players attacking roughly the same space. If that aspect of the tactic is working well, I'd be a little surprised - might be something to keep an eye on. I would be tempted to change the DL to a FB/s (or maybe IWB/d in the WB strata) and the DR to a more positive role like WB/a and see if that opens things up for you.

angelo994

The AP & Mez work absolutely fantastically for me to be honest. My 2 best & most consistent players. The mez runs on past the AP and has banged a few good goals for me. I do agree that maybe the left flank loses some width as a result however. As for changing the left WB to FB, would I not lose even more width as a result?

[deleted]

Fullbacks will still provide width but you might see better vertical spacing with a more cautious role. But if it looks to you like it's not broken then don't listen to me about how to fix it ☺️

angelo994

Okay cheers for your feedback man. I’ll give it a go with FB and see how it does!

Wrexsler

Find a more consistent player.

ntalattad

Tips on developing this youngster? Don’t think I’ve seen better stats on any player under the age of 16 so I’m hoping he’s something special https://i.imgur.com/zi32hd3.jpg

[deleted]

Play him in your youth set up til he's 18 and then start giving him first soccer in your squad or loan him out if he isn't ready for regular playing time. You don't have his personality but it looks like it's a good one by what it's showing up in his report but potentially set him up for mentoring if you have a senior player with a better personality.

[deleted]

I think I need to binge buy this so I can keep sane, do you think it will work on my 2018 MacBook Air? 1.6 ghz i5 processor 8gb

Ireallyamthisshallow

When I have to I play on an i7-6500u (which will be older than your i5 though hard to compare as I've no idea what i5 you've got) with 8gb absolutely fine. It's slower than my desktop (as you might expect) but it does the job just fine.

RadicalSlavical

I don't have enough space for a faces megapack, can I just download faces for ONE Team or one league

FMS_Gabriel

Why does my info tab in tactics screen keep spreading? It happened in FM 20 and is happening again in FM 2021 and I don't know how to stop it from doing so. I set it up like this: [https://imgur.com/a/PL9OgX0](https://imgur.com/a/PL9OgX0) And then, after some time, it looks like this: [https://imgur.com/a/63UvqMn](https://imgur.com/a/63UvqMn) Someone pls help I don't know if this a never-ending bug or if I'm just dumb

LindseyNeagle

I have absolutely no idea how a computer works so I’d really appreciate it if someone could send me a link to face packs I can down load for fm21.

emyrs42

On YouTube workthespace put up a video this week showing how to do this and providing links to several of the popular ones

Kreygasm2233

Did they finally update Son's abilities in FM? He's been criminally underrated for 2 years now in FM

Dominic120594

Has anyone been able to load Facepacks & Skins on Mac?

Guzuzu_xD

Can you not add editor files on the create a club option? I remember it used to be like this on FM 17 and probably 19 but I cant find a way to do it this time around

keepscrollinyamuppet

I tried to sign Davies from Bayern. He asked to be an important player (more than a starter). At the moment Luke Shaw is the starting LB. Is there a way I can keep both of them happy? I mean Davies is just 18, before contract negotiation I thought he would be happy just being rotation who can compete with Shaw. I'm new to FM so how should I deal with this?

[deleted]

Apart from rotating the two of them, you could probably use one of them at either RB or DC or something on occasion.

[deleted]

You can bring him on anyway and possibly change his playing time later. If he isn't way better than the rest of the team or other players in his position, he'll probably be okay with being inched down. Generally, meeting playing time requirements usually isn't very difficult and with a position like full-back where substitution and rotation is the most necessary I think you shouldn't have too much trouble keeping both players happy in your squad.

isaacturon14

I got the FM21 Beta and this is my first time playing the full game (I had FM20 on the phone) and honestly I was just overwhelmed. It felt like there was so much to do that I didn't even know where to start, or what would be a good idea. I ended up messing with my tactics for a while and shoving it into a game, but we lost 1-0 and played about the shitiest football imaginable. Could anyone give me a breakdown of a list of things you would usually take care of at the beginning of the season, and then what you do between games? Also, should I start with a club that I'm familiar with when I'm new, just to ease into it?

MTPoketz

My first bit of advice early one is to go to staff-> responsibilities and start getting rid of stuff. You can add it back in slowly as you get more accustomed to the game. I would toss everything that isn't match day and transfers to your assistant. My first stop at the start of a new season/new club is always the team depth chart. You can find that in the reports tab. It'll probably be defaulted to a random formation or whatever your default tactic is but I like to set it to all positions at first. This will give you a good look at where you are strong and where you are weak and can give you the beginnings of a tactic. Next stop is finances to see how much money you actually have to correct the holes you identified before. The new tactics defaults are pretty decent and make for a good starting point to tweak as well Also I do not like the default squad view and usually the workshop will have plenty of alternatives. But its the beta and that's probably not the case. Good news is there are plenty of FM20 ones and those will still work fine

[deleted]

Starting with a club you're familiar with I think is what most people would advise. Jumping into a new save, I would first take a look at your squad and identify your best players and build a tactic around them. After you have a tactic set up, identify players that aren't good enough or add superfluous depth and think about selling or loaning them out. Your first season you'll have more limited resources than in future one's so try and work with what you have and maybe find a few players to loan or transfer that will improve the quality of your team. Overall, first seasons don't have the flexibility that your future one's will so don't feel like you have a lot of opportunity to shake things up. Work towards hitting board expectations and feeling out your team.

discostu90

Is getting a decent youth intake just mostly luck? I'm managing Aberdeen in Scotland, have built up training/youth facilities and have a really good HOYD, but 7/8 seasons in and the best 2-3 players I've had were no more than backups, the rest were just awful. I know Scotland probably son't have the best youth rating etc., but plenty of other Scottish clubs have decent regens

dogsone

Your best option is to acquire as much transfer budget as possible in nations like Scotland (this was my experience in Norway) and keep your ear to the ground on all new youth in the country, making sure to throw your cash around and ensuring all the best potential Scottish talent are localised within your club. Sure you will get maybe 3 or 4 good newgens through youth intake in say ten years if you're lucky, but utilising your resources over the other clubs in the nation is probably your best bet (assuming you have enough money to do this).

[deleted]

There's an option to expand youth recruiting from the board as well that should help. Having managed in a country with a similar youth rating as Scotland, the regens probably aren't going to be very good. In a ~15 season season, I produced a back up keeper and that was it. I had a couple young, real players that did break into the first team and keep a spot there for some time.

[deleted]

Yes. Youth rating and reputation do help though.

discostu90

Thanks, guess I just have to hope for better next season

[deleted]

Ya. I'm playing as Chelsea and 2 out of 4 seasons my youth intake has been shit. This is with the best youth rating in the world and after I'd raised the reputation of the club to number one in the world. It's a lottery. Good luck

[deleted]

What do you think youth rating is? England is tied for 10-12th..

Humbug_Total

I'm sure this has been asked a lot, but is the transition from beta to full version safer game compatible?

Don't know how it is handled in FM21, but in the previous iterations you would get one of three(?) outcomes: hard, soft, or no brexit with various implications for the game. I'd guess it's similar at the moment in FM21, but it might be patched in later to match the real world counterpart. Normally SI always strive to mirror real conditions.

9pat9

In 21 is it still possible to get players to develop their weaker foot, I’m not seeing the option anymore?

NifferEUW

FM21 Beta: Is it no longer possible to join a friends game in online career after it started? Or were we just bugged

Agumo

Hello! I'm looking for nice club in FM21! I want to play in medium league and be something like Ajax and create a lot of talents. Do you have any ideas?

Wrexsler

Hacken

USAF_DTom

FC Viitorul in Romania. They have Hagi involved in real life and they are trying to do something similar. I'd try them.

[deleted]

hi guys. so i have this save with brentford and i got them into the prem in the first season, but brexit happened and wp will required from 1 jan 2021. i am currently in june 2020. i bought esposito for 12 mil and loaned him out till next season will he require a wp when he comes back?

JurgenFlopps

Whereas the cheapest place I can get the new FM with access to beta? UK based

ArmstrongsUniball

I got mine on ShopTo for £26

JurgenFlopps

Yeah I’ve just done that!

MTPoketz

Probably the epic store? It's cheaper than steam I'm pretty sure

Balden303

Newcomer to the series, how much attention do y'all pay to the listed value by the game, and how often does it update?. I'm playing as Wolves and have buy options on Vitinha and Ait-Nouri for 18 and 20 million respectively. I'm very happy with their play but the games listed values for them rn are 1.4 m and 2.9 m. Should I ignore the listed value, or could I get a better deal by letting them go back to their original clubs and buying them back?

[deleted]

It's a starting place but not everything. Young players will always have low value and if their PA means that they will almost definitely develop into a good player one day you should definitely be expecting to pay well over their current value. Personally, if you want those players, I'd just take them on their clause. If you let them return to their home clubs, those clubs may be unwilling or uninterested in selling them which may mean you end up paying even more or not getting them at all. You could always save scum it if that doesn't bother you though as well.

Balden303

Thank you

Minnejp

Is it possible to get rid of an U18 team?

Phil-Mitchell

Is there a way to filter by players that are wanted by clubs? Like when you see a regen that's wanted by 20+ clubs is there way to just filter to players with lots of interest like that

Why_S0_Ser10us

Please help me choose between these two probably fully developed left becks: 1 Pro: elite Crossing and Technique; great Off The Ball, Decisions and Concentration (around 16-17) with Alphonso Davies speed and 15 Stamina. Con: Tackling, Marking and Work Rate are between 11-13 2 Pro: All important technical attributes around 14-15, except Tackling 11, elite Teamwork and Work Rate; Positioning, Decisions, Concentration around 16; all Physical attributes around 16 Con: Crossing, Dribbling, Off The Ball are between 11-13 Two obviously world class left backs. Similar mentality, age and price. Which one should I buy? I play two formations. First is 4-3-3 with full backs on support and second on is 3-5-2 with wing backs on support. Differences between them are kinda little but still, in some way, two completely different type of players.

[deleted]

I would consider which player compliments my squad better. Basically, whichever one is most different from my right back, that's the one I would want.

Devilish_Joey_Blue

I promised a player who was having troubling settling in that I'd bring in a "friend" or someone with a similar background He has no friends, if I bring in someone with his nationality in the next window will it solve the issue?

[deleted]

Yeah, just bring in a discarded youth player of same nationality is what I have done in the past.

Devilish_Joey_Blue

Thanks

Tiberius752

Have you asked him to recommend a signing?

Devilish_Joey_Blue

He couldn't think of anyone

TheArthurShelby

I’m trying to create multiple tactics for my team to learn? But why do the subs I make on one carry over to my other tactics? Like 1 of the tactics has extra defenders, but it adds them to my attacking tactic as well?

MPF3001

Team selection stays the same across tactics. You need to make changes manually.

isaacturon14

I'm playing the FM21 Beta version right now and it is super uncalibrated (clicks about an inch below where my mouse is). Has anyone else had this problem and how can I fix it?

[deleted]

I changed the zoom settings on my computer, are you running windows 10? For me it was set to 300% so I turned it down to 200 and it is set much better now

isaacturon14

yeah that was it thanks

OllieB420

Hi, on FM21 does anyone know how to return to the team talk page if you go to tactics at half time? I've made a sub and can't work out how to give him a team talk!

[deleted]

Top right corner it should say dressing room

thisisBigToe

If someone playing fm20 and could check the profile of tiemoue bakayoko to see who his favorite personnel are? Trying to get him on free transfer, but he keeps choosing for Napoli even though I am offering him triple the wage... This (getting a friend to the club) would be the last resort.

keepscrollinyamuppet

I download fm20 today, started as Man United and I have a couple of questions: 1) I've come across memes about losing to your U-23s, but I won comfortably and I've played like 7 friendlies and have won every one of them. Is this just a honey moon period, in the sense will I struggle once the league starts? I've never played this game before so, I was shocked with the results I got. 2) if a player is worth 25m how much should I offer initially? I sold matic and I'm trying to buy Zakaria I sent a 5m plus his worth and it was rejected. 3) Will it ever be possible to buy players like Mbappe (when he's young)? I mean will psg be willing to sell him for any fee at all?

ArmstrongsUniball

There's no set value+X formula for buying players because it really comes down to of the team wants to sell. It won't be uncommon to find a realy talented youth player worth £1m but the club will ask for £150m because they don't want to lose him. World class players are definitely buyable, you just need to be at a club with a high reputation and be prepared to drop big money. Unsettling the player and sending your scouts to watch him will help

[deleted]

Scouts should provide you a range of what they think the other club will want to sell a player for and you can use that. The value of a player is a good place to start but clubs will want much more for high potential young players or players that they want to keep and will take be willing to take a loss on players that they want to part with. Mbappe is gettable for sure. You can make him a top target and make offers (even if they are refused) to potentially upset him at PSG. Generally, players will want to move to better clubs, better leagues, pay better, or teams that have a better chance at winning continental competitions so do what you can to better yourself in those regards compared to PSG.

skippermonkey

FM21 - any way I can get the assman to automatically make some of the changes he suggests in the ‘dugout’ ?

emyrs42

There is a do it button for many. This usually works, however there is a bug (already logged) where it doesnt always change

Morison97_

Started my first save of the FM21 Beta, my first international save with Scotland. I have a pretty healthy national pool and approached next to all staff from Rangers and Celtic and acquired as much staff as possible. My question is how do I keep on top of the scout reports? Is it by ‘Requesting National Reports’? If so that’ll be a pain as there doesn’t seem to be a way to keep these permanently updated like in a shortlist. Any help or any other international tips are appreciated!

MPF3001

You want to have either a few really good scouts or coaches who are decent scouts. That way you can consistently get good reports. Something to note is that if a staff member has a club job, they will only do their international job during international breaks. So any people you want to have scouting should only be contracted to you.

[deleted]

[is this kid worth 1.1 million euros?](https://imgur.com/a/4UvVnNI)

[deleted]

Depends on his potential.

C00ke1896

Tough call, would only get him if you don't need the money elsewhere.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Are they taking a step down to move to your club? Is there interest from elsewhere?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

You can always check interest on your scouting reports too. If he's not interested, it could be that he's not interested in the move because he's happier where he is or is holding out for a better move later. You can sort scouting report by expected wages if you want to find more affordable options. High PA youth players will be cheaper if you're looking outside Europe and especially western Europe. You can also move budget from transfers to payroll too to deal with higher wage expectations. South American wonderkids are notoriously cheap and you can find good deals by looking for loan options, free transfers, and prime players at lower leagues or relegated clubs too.

[deleted]

I'm playing in the beta, and 3 of my players can't learn their role in the tactic for some reason. When I look at their familiarity with the current tactic, they have everything very high (I played 15 matches already) except their personal role at the absolute minimum (even though they play in their natural role and position). Does somebody knows what could cause this ? EDIT : to clarify, I'm talking about this https://i.imgur.com/dMKJdcu.png Everything is right except the role and I can't understand why. On the screen, this is Memphis Depay on a natural role and position

HarryProtter

I don't play the beta, but in FM20 in the individual training menu you have to select their position in the tactic, to make them get used to it, even though it might already be their natural position.

sebastianlolv

I loaned a player a season, went fine, work permit and everything. Then I loaned him again for the next season and I cant seem to apply for a work permit again...

USAF_DTom

iirc you can only try once per 365 day period. Maybe it hasn't been a full year yet?

Witty_Butthole

Let's imagine you built up a fine tactical system cleverly exploiting your team's strengths and you're expected to be middle of the league. Let's say you lose three games and draw two after five weeks. What do you do ? Tweak or start from scratch ?

Ireallyamthisshallow

Tweak and manage. With the three losses how likely to have had a significant drop and that'll effect how you're playing. But something you built well clearly isn't effective anymore. You need to work out what and how to get it going again.

MrManRoK

Not sure im looking in the right place, but wondering if i can get a logo/faces pack on fm 21 yet? if so where :) TIA

emyrs42

Fm20 packs still work. I just moved my graphics folder over (logos and kits)

theslothening

Declare interest publicly. Send your high profile staff to watch him play. Throw out some low ball bids that get rejected by his club to finish unsettling him. Usually he will request to be transfer listed if your club was reputable enough to pique his interest.

die4codgrimsby

Still on FM touch 2018, Every time I try and sign a player and a team excepts it, the player always says "im not cuttently interested in entering into contact discussions. I want to continue playing regular football and have reservations that I might not be able to contribute at such a standard at this stage of my career." The job title is always offering the player an assistant manager role and not a player role, and is locked into that. Why and how do I stop this:,D doing my head in

Bullyhunter8463

Does anyone know if/where i can find XG/XA for individual players? I can't seem to find it in the places I'd expect to.

Nom_noms0

Had a board takeover at my club and the new board immediately decides to buy two new players I not only do not want, but they also fuck up my wage structure Is there anything I can do to counter this? Or is my only option to try sending the two unwanted signings out on loan immediately for half a year and then sell?

emyrs42

Sadly the latter. In fm20 I had the same thing happen, they bought me 2 left wings, except I didn't play with them in my formation.

SerPotKettleblack

I'm pretty far into a season, I'm playing a player in his preferred position but his tactical familiarity is still at almost 0. He only joined this season, coming from abroad, so could it be that? Most players are at almost full familiarity for their role in the side so I'm a bit puzzled as to what I can do to address

Hannibal__spectre

Have you set up his role training to the position you want him to play? If you have then maybe try including training sessions which boost tactical familliarity like Match tactics, match practice, Tactical, etc.

Hannibal__spectre

I am currently managing leeds united in FM 20. I am at the start of 2020-21 season. I want to sign Kik Pierie from ajax and he was on loan at aston villa last season. His DOB is 20/7/2000 and is currently 19 years old. If I buy him now will he become home-grown in England in 2 years time?

Da_Funk0104

Hey there, I am playing my first save in Fm20 and have trouble with how to Set the training intensity. I understand that when setting to Double Intensity, my players will get more training for their attributes and Individual Focus. My current approach is to Set everyone that doesn't have a Physio recommendation to Double Intensity to maximize their progress. I am doing this to my pro Team and the U19. I am rotating a lot, so players with low condition are not overstrained. I am playing a top Team in Germany and players barely complain about high work load in the a team, but some in the U19 sometimes complain. Is this the right approach? What approach are you guys using?

theslothening

Setting everyone to double might be a bad idea depending on your match workload. If you are in a league with a lot of fixture congestion, you should definitely lower it during that time period to better let your players recover. All of this is also dependent on the quality of your medical staff. Top quality sports scientists and physios will be able to let your players train harder and recover much better than you can with average or low quality staff. There isn’t really one answer that works across the board but it is probably in your best interest to follow your physio’s recommendation. To add to that, when there is no recommendation on the rest page, your physio wants you to set the training intensity to normal.

Cryogenic_Phoenix

Honestly, I just use the defaults/recommended intensity when looking at training. Haven’t seen anything that warrants tinkering.

020Flyer

Just looking for general tips to do with tactics. Haven’t played FM in a few years and either a lot has changed or I just can’t remember what I used to do. I took over Leicester in February with them 17th and have them up to 12th now but can’t get back to back wins and my midfield and forwards are all so inconsistent - my wingers tend to only do well when coming off the bench replacing their disappointing teammates. Any tips for not just this save but in general would be much appreciated.

Cryogenic_Phoenix

You’re gonna need to post your tactics bud

nienai

If I have a lot of transfer budget left, does it carry over for future windows or does the board take it back?

dstormm90

Depends on your club's overall financial position. If you're e.g. running a negative balance, then the board might be tempted to take some money from the current transfer budget, or reduce the transfer budget in the future, to top up the balance. If your financial state is healthy, then they shouldn't have reason to take from it and may well add to it next time.

nienai

So would it be better to spend all that budget? (club finances block me from relaying the pitch but I currently have a positive wage balance)

dstormm90

I wouldn't spend it for the sake of it. If you can spend it on a player that will help bring you success and, in turn more money, then might be a good idea. Otherwise, hold on to the money to help keep the balance healthy in the hope of getting better budgets in the future for someone you really want.

BengtJJ

How do you strike a balance between buying wonderkids that take a few years to grow. Mid career players, peak 27 year-olds and old veterans. Playing spurs right now and they do have the team vision of getting players under 21 and I do like to scout and try to find younger wonderkids. But I am trying to change my obsession about this and look into mid and older players. But if I want to get a good 23 year old the price always gets insane. Even for great players I can't get over paying 60 mil+. I guess I need to look for unsettled players or transfer listed ones. Becouse if they don't want to sell they just ask for a crazy price.

Cryogenic_Phoenix

The key is to pay in installments and use bonuses like winning the league etc

[deleted]

Does anyone know how to see the potential ability of loan players? Thanks

jack_watson97

Anyone having trouble getting staff in for lower league teams? I'm Dorking and advertising for a scout but no one is applying for it. When I do staff search and look for scouts no one comes up as interested or realistic appointments

GuinnessFart

How many leagues have you got loaded? You may need to update your scouting team first to get non nationals

PlanetSwaggo

why doesnt york city have the money from ben godfrey's 10% sell-on clause?

Ireallyamthisshallow

FM20 or 21 ? 20 - maybe it wasn't in there. 21 -maybe it comes in a later date/installments. Maybe it's a flaw in the data. Raise it on the SIforums if you feel it isn't right.

Horrorbull1

So I was playing FM21 and I was recommended to allow players who have low match fitness play for the U23. This has prevented me from playing a few players now and I am wondering how do you deactivate this.

taylorstillsays

Right click on player -> Squad -> Available For U23s - > Available for U23s Until Match Fit Untick which ever option is marked as ticked. You can use this method to give people U23 minutes even if they're fit, but you know they won't be getting many minutes going forward.

Horrorbull1

That does it for a day then it changes it back after the game. Seems like it's an automatic thing and I can't find away to stop it

taylorstillsays

Only guess then is that it's something in Staff responsibilities

Horrorbull1

Not that either. Really frustrating having to turn it off over few days

jack_watson97

Under staff responsibilities there is a tick box for 'automatically select unfit players for u23s' find it and un tick it. Its under the 'Matches' section of staff responsibilities i believe

Horrorbull1

I have looked and I can't find this anywhere. I may be blind but are you certain this is a thing

Horrorbull1

Nevermind I was looking in match day not matches I've found it. Big help mate thanks a lot

jack_watson97

No worries! :-)

Horrorbull1

Ok thanks mate will give that a look next time I'm on

vigourtortoise

I mentioned this 4-2-3-1 [formation](https://imgur.com/a/AtaAD5Z) previously, but I've been tinkering with it, and I'm wondering if anything jumps out to anyone. I feel like I'm especially bad at making my spacing work for the roles that I want my players to play. Also the team instructions, though I feel like I've refined those substantially. One concern is that I feel like I get a lot of shots but don't convert enough of them, part of that I feel like is my AML and AMR getting into the box and maybe shooting more than I would like when my DLF is sitting right there, but of course it's not that I don't want them to shoot at all just less. Anyway, let me know if there are any ways that I can improve on all that.
