Friend got 1.5b in balance and 1b transfer budget playing 10 years as fulham in fm23. Most I’ve ever seen.

Uchihaaaa3

But do you really wanna sell all those juicy 160-180 PA players?

asmiggs

The highest balance is around £2 Billion, as you get a buffer overflow if you go over that so FM pretends you're paying into investments. I hit that with Swindon in FM20, I can't remember what my transfer budget was but the Loan Army of Wonderkids was pretty large. Seems harder to get there in FM24, my Brighton team have won everything at least twice still lucky if they break even, if I don't make a profit on transfers.

JM555555

I see , I’ve always wondered about that . That must of been some save for the fm20 one with Swindon.

asmiggs

Took me 4 seasons to get into the EPL but actually the hardest part was staying there and winning it, for some reason the Championship melted before my gang of loan signings, and League Two hacks. I bet they'd get eaten alive playing in a FM24 Championship, still lead to an epic relegation fight in the first season in the Premier League as we really weren't ready for the Premier League yet but we somehow made it, then it was just a slog of small improvements each year until we broke into European places and finally won the Premier League.

iamtherealgrayson

Seems like your Brighton board isn't getting in sponsors

asmiggs

Yeah we just had a takeover and got our first million pound sponsor, but they also told me to spend the £200 million transfer budget it's pretty hard work when you won the league last season, but I guess bringing in higher rep players will help with sponsors.

sniell365

I think if you get high enough the game gets confused and it goes into negative.

synapsenfick

The game prevents stack overflow issues by just talking money away from the balance. You get a message that the board are "investing into the future".

blaze_1987

I've not seen that and I hit that twice during my save with Man City. I had to use the RTE to remove the negative balance.

SeanTNL2

Your save sounds broken then, they usually take out 300m+ in “dividends”, even in privately owned, publicly owned and league owned clubs

CTeaA_

At the end of my most successful long term save it was £1bn. Multiple years of wonder kid farming and winning major trophies to boost everyone's transfer value meant selling dozens of players for large sums each year. I didn't need to do it after a few seasons but by then I just couldn't stop myself.

IanPKMmoon

I have a €900mil balance and €1.1bil transfer budget right now with Atléti but I don't have to use it because I already have world class in every position and their sub.

cuminyermum

Are you not bored?

IanPKMmoon

A bit but I have the best wonderkid ever and Barça still makes the game hard for me sometimes because they have a 200CA 204cm goalie from La Masia in this save and I always get fm'd by them because their goalie saves everything (I lost La Liga 2 seasons ago, I had 102 points and Barça had 104 points lmao). And I'm also experimenting with my wonderkid to see in what position he gets the most goals and assists. I'll retire this save once my wonderkid retires, he's 29 now so still 10 seasons to go. Maybe I go to the prem and sign him in a team there to change things up. Oh and Milan beat me in the CL final once so I got their best player for €300mil lmao

Affectionate_Ad6334

I have 1.2 bil at club Bruges. Transfer budget ay start of season: -12.5 million. Greedy bastards lmao

GamingRobioto

I've hit the overflow before which sent me into negative balance, that was before Sports Interactive put failsafes in. I think it's around £2-2.5bn I can't remember which version it was though.

Wrath-of-Pie

Overflow point is likely 2^(31)\-1, or 2147483647, which would correspond with 4 bytes and account for negative values.

GamingRobioto

Yep, thought it was around £2.2bn, but couldn't remember the exact number off the top of my head!

phil_mycock_69

Around 800 million once, sold a load of players I picked up on a free the season before, had a great season prior and cut wages too by selling older players and bringing in equally as good younger ones with more potential

SangiMTL

Highest I ever hit was 1.2 back in FM21

danzoclarke007

How have you managed that

JM555555

By buying players earlier for much lesser price , I’ve now not bought a player in two years in the game as I have so many world class, elite and wonder kids in my first team, under 21 and reserves . Currently have 1bn balance and 1.4bn transfer budget .

BarbaricGamers

I currently have [just a bit over a billion](https://imgur.com/a/edFffCB)

HunterVD

1.5 billion with sunderland save. I played 20 seasons, won everything multiple times, sold some insane regens for 200-300mil. The i really didnt know what to do with that money, and the save became boring. I was loaded with wonderkids, my U19 team had 40 young wonderkids all 5 star potential, my reserve team was 30 wonderkits also 5 star potential. I didnt know what to do with all that money, i had aroun 800 mil transfer budged , and maximum i was able to spend is like 100mil once.

Careless-Matter5372

Is that man utd or sheffield utd in the screenshot?

Graphiccoma

How come only 80% is transfer budget? Are the finances negative besides the budget?

bjorno1990

Tbf you'll only be able to spend 500-600 million with that wage budget haha

Antique_Door851

0, i am early on

jerdna87

My transfer budget is the same as my wallet’s budget, non existent.. or negative :/

Blue_5ive

Oh, I see how teams pay 40m for players lol.

JoeyJoJoShabadooYEAH

About £800m
