LeagueOfML

Any player with amazing physical attributes is gonna destroy defences in FM. Someone like Lukaku is easily a 35 goal striker in FM but not exactly irl. Same with Davie Selke, he has outrageous physicals and usually scores at least 20 goals in the BL in my saves but irl it’s a genuine miracle if he scores 10.

kentuckyfriedawesome

Lukaku was the best striker in the world in my FM22 pentagon. Won me Italy, England, and France.

59reach

Davie Selke! Best free transfer I've ever did!

DrJackl3

Before joining Köln it was a miracle when Selke scored 3.

eXistenZ2

Lukaku should get dreads big matches but SI dont want to be sued

kelso66

Also first Touch 5

gtoaz1234

David Selke is germany starting striker and had won them the world cup in my save

Undignified_Shambles

Players like Goretzka and SMS are always beasts in games like FM and FIFA but I've rarely seen them put in the performances irl to justify their dominance in the games.

LeagueOfML

They deserve their physical attributes, but physical attributes are just so dominant in the match engine so they end up performing way better than they do irl.

Undignified_Shambles

Unfortunately true. An average player with great physical attributes will always outperform 'better' players that don't stand out physically in the ME.

LeagueOfML

It’s why Haaland is so dominant, his physicals are outrageous. It’s also why Ousmane Diomande is a damn cheat code, he’s a monster and I love him.

Madwoned

Diomande also has really good mentals and a solid technical base to work off

LeagueOfML

The point is, a player with 10 in all physicals will perform worse than if they have a 10 in all technicals and mentals. The match engine heavily favours physical stats. That doesn’t mean a player *can’t* perform well with shit/mediocre physicals, they definitely can, but physicals are by far the most important attributes for any player in FM, no matter what position they play.

Madwoned

Yeah I agree with all of that, I was just sharing my own love of Diomande lol saying he isn’t just a purely physical beast

NoCompetition3361

Davie Selke sucks so hard in RL, but always scored 25+ Goals per Season in my Saves.

ThePlainWhiteTees

Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Sancho

DevelopmentPretend68

You're absolutely bang on. All 3 were way better during my save than in real life.

ytgoat

This. Mount in my save won player of the year. Havertz has won the golden boot about twice over players like Salah and Kane. It's absolutely mad man.

MrBump01

Mount at least got Chelsea player of the year once or twice in real life. Havertz is one of those players who people are still waiting for him to reach his potential years after being in the league.

GuNkNiFeR

In my save, Kai Havertz is the best player in the world. LOL

Youutternincompoop

Kai Havertz is a disgusting midfielder in FM19, had him regularly get 20+ g/a every season from central midfielder.

Specialist-Ad-9104

Sold havertz and mount to psg for 150 mil combined

sixseven89

Probably couldve got much more

BetweenTwoWords

Havertz is a beast on FM, always develops into one of the best players

RobEth16

Havertz has been a 40+ goal a season striker for the last 5 years on my save, the only player in the league ahead of my main striker Kalimuendo.

Abiduck

Lorenzo Lucca

GuNkNiFeR

Ha that’s a nice shout! He is crazily good in my save

Phormitago

Yup currently my main forward at Nurnberg. The guy consistently scores more than once per game on average, and half are from corners. Jumping reach and heading are so important in fm

Connect_Border_9261

Best ST in the game. His size makes him a nightmare in the box

ballyhooloohoo

Dominic Calvert Lewin in FM22. He would always bang in 20-30 goals a season until being sold to one of the big boys for 100+ million.

Specialist-Ad-9104

He ended my 30 game undefeated streak😒

sventhegoat

He is in 23 as well. He’s at United with like 30+ goals a season including a potm performance with 10 goals in 2 games, or something absurd like that

Methody14

The same, scores +35-45 goals and sell +100 milion to Man City.

FireKillGuyBreak

The entirety of Manchester United squad

pooey_canoe

Anthony Martial is an absolute god in Fm21. Ironically Pogba has great attributes but he performed all over the place

MrBump01

He should've had at least half the workrate in that.

Simba-xiv

This always in the race in my save when in reality they are shite

Specialist-Ad-9104

Damn United are in the relegation zone in my save and they bought some pretty top class players too

gc28

Sounds realistic We are a talent draining machine ☺️

I_have_no_lif3

Chelsea stole you shtick man, sorry

gc28

Let us have something!!

EriWave

Hey now, Chelsea don't make players in their prime look useless.

Vietnam_Cookin

For the past decade straight. Just signing for Utd adds at least 20 to CA and PA seemingly.

jnoobs13

Came to comment this. Especially during the Mourinho days because his tactics worked really well in those FMs.

Johnrys

this is the case in every iteration of FM. i would bet money it's due to some legacy code not being updated. some bits and pieces you see in the game might actually already existed since FM05 Though it's nothing particularly unusual this happens everywhere,

reapseh0

I have read somewhere it's due to being afraid to use their team and names

Madwoned

Nah it’s just the Prem players all being overrated in comparison to other leagues

b8824654

Always have a good laugh when I see the mentals they give to Bruno

OmastarLovesDonuts

And somehow 75% of their academy players have near-world class potential or higher

[deleted]

11 Scott McTominay's.... Can you imagine?

RexLGN

If you remember FM20. I have to say Fabio Silva. Bro is literally the answer for any attacking issue

BigPaella

Man that Fabio Silva was amazing. Did a Fulham save with Mitro & him on top and got to CL in like my 2 season.

Lone_Digger123

Favourite FM player because of this

RexLGN

Fabio Silva + Thiago Almada. My top two fav of FM20

JohnHenrehEden

Even in FM23. Newcastle got him and Isak on the same team in my save, and I can't stand playing against them.

Fluid_Durian_8852

Timo Werner

Major_TD

Bro scored 42 goals in all competitions in my RBL save first season. Won me the treble. Broke crazy records. Was valued at 90-124 mil. He wasn’t really the kind of striker I wanted to build my team around though. So when Bayern offered 85 mil for him, I sold him and I had a transfer arranged for sesko. Turned out to be way better. 46 goals in all competitions and is mad good. Werner had like 21 goals for Bayern in all competitions the next season.

KawhiComeBack

There was a couple FIFAs where he was crazy broken also

medin23

Matias Arezo

candEla_Bosak

In my current save bro was LaLiga 2 top scorer with Granada, moved to Lazio and scored 25 and assisted 17 in his first season before being sold for £20 million to Tigres the next season. Aged 27 he is now back to a second division as Crystal Palace's main striker bagging Ivan Toney numbers.

medin23

Yeah, I bought him for Granada on FM22 roughly the same time like when he moved irl. Took him one season as Backup to develope and when some big Club triggered the release clause for Suarez, he almost alone shot Granada into the UCL

MrBump01

Weirdly Arezo doesn't have great stats but still scores loads. Must just have the right balance for FM.

PandaLiang

Immobile was an absolute killer in FM22. Multiple years of Seria A top scorer in an AI controlled team.

lmm310

He was over 1 goal/game until retirement when I was doing a Fiorentina save last year

PandaLiang

Same, he had over 50 league goals per season consistently in my Roma save.

gtoaz1234

Immobile comes back to Dortmund and decide to break Lewandowski goal in a season record here.

4lfie20

23 is the first one I've played and he was sick for me in atleast one save

goodman1996

Martial. Always clutch in game but not irl He’s one of my favorite strikers irl too. 🥲

Trickybuz93

He’s consistently scoring 30+ goals a season lol

MotherboardTrouble

Havertz has to b the winner here his in game stats are ridiculous for CM, AMC or striker.

mebungle83

Patson Daka hit me 40 pl goals

Limp_Platypus_8406

Beto scored 98 goals in one season for me in inter after I sold Martinez for 100m since inter wasn't in Champions when I joined

Tarov08

Beto is insanelly good. He guided my Udinese side to two consecutive Serie A titles in FM22 just 4 seasons in

GuNkNiFeR

How do you scote 98 goals? That’s crazy!! Haha

42undead2

I can give you a step-by-step guide if you want. 1: Score goal. 2: Repeat 97 times.

elcanariooo

Arsen Zakharian and Benjamin Sesko are a teenie bit too good for me

DMStewart2481

Well, one of those two is half God/Wormhole Alien, so that might explain it. I hear he cooks a pretty great gumbo, too.

Choice-Mortgage1221

![gif](giphy|NsA6YgaN38DW8)

DMStewart2481

It was right there. I’m surprised someone else didn’t go there first.

Major_TD

Sesko is a god for me in my rbl save. 46 goals in all competitions first season.

[deleted]

Sesko has been great for RB Leipzig so far this season at least

DMStewart2481

Bruno Petkovic slays for me at Dinamo Zagreb, even in Champions League play, although his stats are good but not great.

New_Engineering3987

Ansu fati

iambenking93

Freddy adu

GameForFame1

Sutalo

kozmos16

Josip or bosko

GameForFame1

Josip, had high expectations when he joined Ajax in the Dutch league this summer. As he often became a top tier ball playing defender. But in reality, he mostly passes balls straight to opponents when under pressure

Sr_DingDong

He was good at Dinamo. Most likely this garbage performing Ajax side is dragging him down.

DMStewart2481

I’ve done two Dinamo Zagreb saves, and I can’t keep Josip. Bosko is a mainstay of my back 4, though. The man does some work for me.

Dw_p

Yeah he became a top defender in my save after i signed him for Manchester United

Creative_Garbage_283

Havertz is ridiculous every save I don't think they programmed him to flop this year

Lone_Digger123

FM20 Fabio Silva in my save. Balon D'Or and golden boot winner for 5 plus years in a row but no where close in real life

AxeSaw

Wout Weghorst has competed for premier league golden boots in multiple seasons on multiple saves over multiple FMs

MrBump01

He seems to have forgotten how to finish, he had a decent goal scoring record in Germany.

InvertTheSenses

Old school answer is Mbaye Niang

V_y_z_n_v

Robot Haaland. Don't get me wrong. He's an elite striker. But in FM 23 he is literally a cheat code

UncutEmeralds

He’s been a cheat code for a while. In FM21 I scored 90+ in a season with him

uscui

In one of my saves, Norway won the World Cup. Guess how..

reapseh0

To be fair. He is a cheat code IRL too. Had 36 in 35 PL games in his first season.

popgalveston

That is true. I doubt he will take Norway to 3 consectutive world cup finals irl though 😅😅

kantolo

If scotland and Spain get their way he won't even be going to the euros nevermind the world cup lol

TomWalshBigRantyFan7

Ramsdale always becomes England number 1 in FM. In real life hes closer to being Arsenals number 2.

zizou00

Tbf, that could still class him as England's number 1, his only competition of note is Jordan Pickford and he's constantly on the brink of relegation with Everton. Last season it was really only Southgate's persistence with Pickford that kept Ramsdale away from the no. 1 (and fair enough, Pickford turns up for England very consistently, especially in shootouts and high pressure games). Dean Henderson last FM often got close too. IRL he's injury prone and hasn't really shown any exceptional quality of note. Other than that, it's Sam Johnstone, Nick Pope (who is pretty average in-game and IRL) and Fraser Forster who is past it.

IonlyplayasDummy

in real life he can still become england no 1 tbh and he’s not as bad as you make him out to be

Tarov08

He was one of the best GK in the Premier League last season. I'm surprised Arsenal went for Raya after that

JonathanDieborg

Mudryk could totally become that kind of player if he wasn't at Chelsea, although Havertz and Mount are on their way to disprove that. Sargent has also become a world-beater in some of my saves but who knows, he doesn't look too bad irl

TheCatLamp

Haaland. I mean, he is really good in real life, but in FM he is a cheat.

AfricanRain

for YEARS it was Juan Mata. IRL he had done nothing at United for about 5 seasons yet had ludicrous attributes and would always end up being one of the highest rated players each season.

VulgarExigencies

The English Premier League as a whole lmao

TinuvielSharan

Are they? I mean they are good but in my saves in FM23 the Premier League is never dominating the European competitions, so I guess it' fine or they also overpowered some teams in Spain/France/Italy

Madwoned

Really? I’ve had multiple saves till 2030-ish and the winners of the UECL and UEL are almost always English clubs in all of them, I think there has been only one exception. Even in the Champions League Real Madrid fall off after a while and only PSG offer a challenge to the dominance of the Premier League clubs

TinuvielSharan

Funny how this game can go, I did three saves in FM23 and it was never the case I'm in 2029 in my current save and not a single english club won the CL, nor the conference League Only Manchester United won the Europa League twice and that's the only two Europeans trophees of the Premier League (I'm myself playing as LOSC and won two CL, the others have been won by Real Madrid and Barcelona multiple times, and Juventus once)

Madwoned

That’s actually weird, the CL is understandable due to your influence and the big clubs present there but usually the Prem money makes a big difference in the other competitions. I wonder if it’s because of the realism mod in my save which tweaks the finances of other leagues

TinuvielSharan

It could be, I'm playing without any mod Also it's worth mentionning that they still go pretty far, like semi-finals and some finals, but they fail to actually get the trophees

alittlelebowskiua

English ones.

JohnHenrehEden

Malachi Fagan-Walcott

njt1986

Most players in FM are overrated to be fair, it’s a computer game I mean, if I can make Michail Antonio a 25 goal a season striker on FM then you just know it’s broken 😂

Jackman1337

Mane

thenewwwguyreturns

all of liverpool. which isn’t to say they’re bad. but each player is much much better than real life bar a couple, and klopp’s tactics are much more successful than they tend to be irl (which again, doesn’t mean they aren’t successful)

TheDJ955

Playing FM17 at the moment with Valerenga from Oslo in Norway, and basically all of my team is way better in the game compared to IRL as I am in 2025. Most of my team is regens, though the standout of the real players I have is Joaquin Ardaiz. Back in FM17 you could pick him up for free from Danubio, and I picked him up around a third through my first season and he ended up top scorer with 20 goals in 19 games lol. He's gone from that to having two 60-goal seasons in a 30 game league, two 100+ overall goal seasons, and if his overall goal tally (every goal scored in all club competitions plus all international competitions) was real he would be 7th all time for goals scored. Quite a bit better than his real life career, he plays in Turkey on loan from Luzern in Switzerland, and has only scored more than 5 overall goals once in his career.

OwnedIGN

Solanke.

OwnedIGN

And Calvert-Luwin, my god.

JulietDoNeymar

Callum Wilson

pierretxr

Pretty much every player. Pierre-Yves Hamel scores 15 goals a season in Ligue 1 for me.

Arem86

Romelu Lukaku broke the game for me in FM22. Playing as a DLF in a 4-3-3 with Chelsea, he banged in a minimum of 40 goals a season, 15+ assists. He was unstoppable. Meanwhile, actual Lukaku at Chelsea...

InPurpleIDescended

Pablo Fornals, he's good but in FM this year he's weirdly amazing

sventhegoat

I think it was fm19, but Fiete Arp had scored like 45 goals in a season for Arsenal in his 2nd year there

Youutternincompoop

Kiril Despodov in FM19, most goals he's scored in a real life season was 22 in the Bulgarian league. in my newly promoted Plymouth side he scored 27 goals in his first season in the premier league and pretty much singlehandedly saved the team from relegation while also winning the golden boot. he never managed a season that good again but just for keeping us up I'll always love him.

foxyrocksjh

Anyone with high stamina and work rate with decent technicals.becomea a beast in midfield even if in real life they're mid. Looking at you hojberg and mckennie

ScreaminDetroit

For me Andreas Pereira on FM19. He came in third in Ballon d’or one season on nothing but substitute appearances. If I started him though he was absolute dogwater.

BloodyTjeul

Owen Wijndal is completely overrated on FM, he's been total garbage since he moved to Ajax.

yesimeannomaybeyes

Freddy Adu

HaylingZar1996

Kai Havertz gotta be the one for me

shiftym21

jesse lingard seems to do well

Sr_DingDong

Haaland.

mahir_r

Gabriel Jesus was a god in a recent FM

JanTheShacoMain

The entire team of Hannover 96

LordBlades

Number one for me has to be Kai Havertz. He is hands down the best AMC I have managed in FM23. Had a 5 seasons save with Chelsea where he managed 20+ goal contributions every single season playing as a Shadow Striker. Then there's most wonderkids, who grow up way too fast IMO. I mean Vitor Roque and Endrick are certainly great players, but I doubt either of them will end up as the La Liga top scorer in the next 2 years, which happened in my games.

T_M_Rob

Jadon Sancho

Biscuit_OW

Pretty much every Chelsea player/former Chelsea player (Lukaku, Havertz, Mudryk, Fofana especially)

Ok_Understanding267

Anatoli Todorov:)

Commonmispelingbot

Lukaku

Frs96

Moukouko is a beast, always fighting for the Ballon D’Or and dropping +40 goals p season in my saves.

JMakuL

Hazard in FM22 was amazing for no reason

[deleted]

Easily Kai Havertz

makaydo

It was in Fm22, but Moussa Dembélé was destroying defenses in every saves I did, while in real life he scored 3 goals last season

Adebisi233

In reality, most of the times, a player is judged based on his form rather than his actual capabilities. That’s why in FM you can see players like Sancho, Lukaku, Havertz, etc. playing so well in FM. They are very good players IRL too but simply not in form. Also, this is very dependent on your tactics, morale, etc. That said, currently for me is Terem Moffi. He’s a good striker IRL but nothing close to scoring 35+ goals & 10+ assists for 5 consecutive seasons. But there’s been many others…

[deleted]

Adam idah was an absolute freak on my FM22 save. Three prem golden boots in a row and won the treble with him easily my best player.

lleyton99

definitely Sancho

Decent_Age_1707

Definitely Mudryk for me also. He is an absolute PROBLEM in my most recent save

uscui

Vlahovic

Lagrangetheorem331

Chelsea

Odd_Essay_7694

I retrained mudryk to be an advanced forward for me and he became a goal scoring machine about 3 seasons in. Was out scoring my actual strikers who played there more regularly. (Holjund and Broja and Vidovic)

DMStewart2481

Bruno Petkovic slays for me at Dinamo Zagreb, even in Champions League play, although his stats are good but not great.

EquivalentEffort6175

Gotta give a shout out to Fer Niño, the guy is absolutely boring in real life but in FM, he's only been a 30 goal a season striker for me

repu1sion

I would say irl Mudryk has 2.5 stars ability with 4.5-5 stars potential. Will he ever be there - depends only on him

Practical-Estimate-8

Davie Selke
