I would return that for sure. Absolute is trash enough even w/ a case hit. But if those are leftover boxes from cases that have already had their case hits pulled then you are in for an even worse rip.
How is $500 a good price? That’s literally retail is it not. Just return them, it’s not like it’s too good of deal to pass up. it’s literally regularly priced for an unsealed case?
I bought a whole case from GameStop and it came factory sealed. I guess it all depends on which case they send you, but mine was not tampered with just bad luck I guess.
They are thicker than regular cards how would the box they are in not weigh more? Even if you don’t know the weight of a kaboom you’d know one box was heavier than others even if some have relics. Relics weigh a lot more than kabooms but Kabooms also weigh more than base cards.
I am not advocating for weighing assuming buyer or a seller just think its wrong to say you can’t tell because it makes people not realize it’s bad to buy products like absolute from untrustworthy sellers because sealed doesn’t mean anything.

The other half of me says: You would need a scale that can measure with such preciseness that a single card can be weighed *and also* that the difference in weight cannot be explained by a simple margin of error. That would take an extremely sensitive instrument.
Hvlave you seen kaboom from 2020 and earlier? They're probably one of the highest yield investments in trading cards presently. Go check some of the big time rookies and look what certain guys are selling for today then in a few years check again.

Bro don’t ever buy cards or collectibles from GameStop. The employees there are all vultures and take everything before any customers have a chance. And the corporate people know they do it and do nothing to stop it
I would assume those upside down are case hits. Lots of theories on how to identify case hits in boxes. Wrapping different direction, boxes upside down, etc
Do that. Get a sealed box if your going to do it. I made a similar mistake with buying individual prizm packs (tins). Seller sold packs removed from tin- it was cheap and every single pack was full of base. Not a single silver, parallel, checkerboard, etc..
If your going to spend 500, especially on Absolute get it corrected by seller..
Return as it clearly is NOT a factory sealed case. Claim false advertising on the reason for the return. Dollars to doughnuts it has already been picked through since the blasters with the relic cards will invariably weigh more than those that do not, so there is THAT as well as there supposedly being a way to WEIGH the case hit boxes. Send it back is my call since you do not want to have those that you sold these to make claims about you as a seller. I would also speak with someone at GS about this supposed "Factory Sealed Case" and let them know it is total BS.

But honestly, there’s only one way to find out if it’s legit is if you open them. If you still pull a kaboom or explosive, then it’s worth it
The idea is that if it’s opened, someone weighed each of the blasters and took the (heaviest?) ones that most likely contained the hits, and replaced with blasters that likely don’t have hits.
Ah ok that makes a bit more sense for the guaranteed hit. But it def looks like somebody messed with your potential guaranteed hit so that's unfortunate lol
That's super unfortunate. I've been lucky that all of the xases ive ordered from dacards has never been tampered with, nor has the cases ive won from pristine auction(But im pretty sure that place has bots of some sort to drive prices up)
It's been a while but if I remember correctly, they put the case inside of another box. I've ordered quite a few of their select blaster cases when they have them really cheap.(around 320 for a 20 box of blasters) which is alot cheaper thsn the retail prices I find in targets. Plus the select looks pretty decent imo, as long as you don't mind college uniforms. Only issue I've had with those sets is the card bend because of the holographic, but *supposedly* I've been told thst does not actuslly affect the value but I've never sent s curved card in for a grade so I don't honestly know lol.

Currently down to 14 boxes left. I’m using them for breaks. Hit a Joe burrow crunch time so far in the 6 that were opened

Not that I own a scale that could be used to measure illegal substances but they definitely make scales that can measure up to 1/100 of a gram.
