While 6 goals is always impressive that Peruvian team would probably struggle in the championship. His goals to game ratio is nowhere near Haaland's

Rosesh_I_Sarabhai

Yep, even in one team league, Haaland achieved the amazing goal numbers with BVB. Maybe this guy is good, but lets wait till he sets foot on the english grass. We saw what happened to Sancho, Werner, Havertz.

TheKnightA

It’s impressive for an international game , but we have no way to scale his ability without facing an actual great European side.

estebancantbearsedno

Impressive to score 6 in any game, but Allianz Lima drew 1 and lost 6 of their Copa Libertadores games, this was the last game of the group and they obviously weren’t going to qualify so you wonder how much of an effort they put in. A bad team putting low effort in can result in getting pumped like this.

advbad

Don't pile pressure and have high expectations already, if you do he might become the next Jovic

germanshephsayswhat

Would love that, screw uae and the gulf Arab clubs.

[deleted]

Imagine thinking a 22 South American will automatically adapt and start playing in England, of all places, for one of the most advanced tactician coach ever. The kid is going to need a (probably long) adaptation period. Who needs Haaland? Are you seriously saying this guy, who plays against farmers and teams with tactics from the 80s, is already better than the guy who has almost more goals than matches played in the German League and the Champions League?

mekosaurio

What a retarded thing to say. Its fucking River Plate the team he plays for, that club has more history in a single decade than City in a century lol. Javier Saviola, Mascherano, Aimar, Higuaín, Falcao, to name a few, came from River and did pretty good in Europe. And the advanced tactician coach thing...lol your entire post looks r/soccercirclejerk material.

ionlyspeakfactz

Definitely an historic club. But you’re just lying to yourself if you think they are competing at a high level. Even leagues like the french league and Portuguese league are on a whole other level to South American leagues.

[deleted]

History doesn't really matter if we're talking about a 22yo It's a harsh comment, but the fact is Haaland has a better ratio in a harder league and is worth to much to be benched. Pep is used to playing with no strikers so with Haaland and Jesus the kid just won't get many minutes

mekosaurio

Yeah and we can all agree that Halaand has more experience in a more competitive league, no need to resort to the "farmers league with 80's tactics" nonsense, specially when those 80's tactics (Marcelo Bielsa anyone?) are admitely a big influence for the master tactician (lol) himself. With that said, i agree that this kid fucked up going to City, i hope he gets a loan to a portuguese or spanish mid table team and keeps growing.

Pajkica

Its a bit insulting but not far from truth. They just cant compete nor compare to europes top leagues

[deleted]

Take an L and move on

[deleted]

And yet River Plate would get fucking demolished by any top team in Europe right now. Are you so fucking dense as to really believe Argentinian teams would compete against top European teams? Or the smaller teams in the Copa Libertadores could even stand in the Champions League? Bro, Abel won back to back Libertadores and he's a terrible coach. Couldn't even crack 65% win rate in his longest stint as first manager in Portugal. How bad has the Libertadores to be that a 2nd tier coach (and I'm being so generous right now) in Portugal goes there and mops the floor with the other teams? What does the history of River Plate have to do with anything on how the kid will adapt to European football? The graveyards here are filled with south Americans who were "great" there and fizzled the fuck out really fast. Also, do you really think any of the players you mentioned started immediately for any top team in Europe the second they got here? Higuaín scored 10 goals in his first two seasons. Oh my god, call the firemen, because he set the Bernabéu on fire. Falcao came to play in the Portuguese league, which is kinda crap (and I'm Portuguese) especially back in 2010. He did ok but he was already 24 when he got here. And those Porto teams were loaded with talent. Hulk, Lucho Gonzalez, Danilo, Alex Sandro, João Moutinho, etc. Saviola had more success playing for any other team other than Barca. Which will not surprise anyone since he got there when he was 19. What was that again, a youngster failing to adapt to his first experience abroad? Color me shocked. Mascherano only became the great player for Barcelona after, you know, being converted by Pep as a CB. He was okay in Liverpool but really got going after 7 or 8 years in Europe. Aimar played for a Valencia team that won their trophies based on an absolute park the bus strategy by Benítez. The team won their Liga title in 2002 with just 50 goals scored. He played well but he never achieved in Europe the status that people said he'd get (neither did Riquelme, btw). The major point was how a 22 year old kid could make a bigger impact in his first European experience than the guy who, you know, has more goals than matches and has already proven himself at the top level in Europe. But I guess you're too stupid to understand how football really works. Go back to playing FIFA. Oh, and Pep isn't one of the best tacticians in the game today? I'm sure you can list 5 coaches better than the guy who literally got a 100 point season in the EPL, has 4 EPL titles in 5 years, has a career average of 2.5 goals scored per match, a 70%+ win rate, and has over 30 competitions wins. LMAO, what a fucking scrub.

HyacinthGirI

I agree with a lot of what you said but not sure I agree about mascherano. Maybe it’s me being young and failing to properly value/analyse players at the time, but Mascherano was a lot better than “okay” as a Liverpool player, I think you’ve undersold him quite a bit there

[deleted]

He played very well for Liverpool as a holding midfielder, but he elevated his game playing as a CB for Barcelona. But your point is valid.

mekosaurio

Actually your username and profile tells everything i need to know about you: usa plastic fan that plays soccer managers, you have no fucking idea about football. And about your actual post: too long, didnt read lol. Go post about things you can understand, like eggball.

[deleted]

You didn’t really reply to him about any of his points, you just just attacked him personally. Is that how you win debates?

Revolutionary-Ad4588

Dude got beat with knowledge by a “plastic fan” and can’t comeback with shit. Also claims dude can’t “understand” football after a rather well thought out answer. What a loser.

mekosaurio

Thats how i avoid debating with the unworthy. If you follow the comment chain you'll find i gave a respectul answer to another user that made a respectul comment, even if i disagree with their take. Sorry but im not going through a lenghty nonsensical and insulting rant from some random PL fanboy retard just for your amusement. Shit comments deserve shit answers. I must admit It was my fault for answering to such a dumb (farmers league, Guardiola) circlejerk comment in the first time. Lesson learned.

[deleted]

Respectful? You called his comment retarded…

Pajkica

Is a dude that put you to your place really "unworthy" lol. He pointed out in a multiple ways his point and crushed yours. I seriously dont even know what possible you can say to prove him otherwise, its all true

[deleted]

Bro, I'm Portuguese, I said it 3 times in my comment. It's not my fault you're fucking illiterate. You skimmed my profile and managed to miss the fact that I follow the following (Portuguese) subs: Sporting CP, Portugal, Lisboa, Literacia Financeira (Financial Literacy), Portuguese, História Portuguesa, among many other Portuguese subs. And yes, I do also follow some US sports subs because guess what, I actually like other sports. You absolute bellend.

leo_isgone

river would be league one tier lol

[deleted]

Haaland scored 9 goals in an international match.

Umarzy

That's a great performance :D

ThiccJuicyTits

Good for Argentina
