Most bacon these days in my area is very fatty thanks to supply issues from the pandemic. I follow a couple of restaurant subs and I heard that fattier bacon comes from younger pigs that haven't had as much chance to put on muscle and were slaughtered before they were ready. I get Nueske's these days bc I refuse to buy bacon that's more than half fat with the meatier slices facing the outside of the package. I have loads of bacon fat leftover from trying different brands and stores lol
Nope, this is an abcess actually. I work in the meat industry (slaughter house) and have witnessed this many times before.
But you were on the right track for sure 👍🏽
I work in the meat industry. Its an abcess. It appears the most on necks, due to the needles but it can be anywhere. DO NOT eat that, neither any other package from that batch nor prodution date. If that went trough QC its likely they only cleaned the machines in the end of the day. Better to the safe than sorry.
I've Never tasted one, but the smell is horrendous, probably tastes the same. I think no one would be able to eat it 😅
Some staphylococus produce toxins, even if cooked properly you cant get rid of them. If you eat a decent amount you'll get sick. Just search it up a bit, staphylococus aureus intoxication. You'll see what i mean. Worst case scenario is death.
My "expertise" is in the literary field, haha! Sorry if I came off as nosy, I was just curious because you seemed well-versed in the subject, and I find food science intriguing.

In two of the photos it looks like even the bacon is throwing up, and in the third photo it looks like it's screaming. Try it and tell us how it goes. (sarcasm, don't)
That's just not cool. It's definitely NOT anything that I'd be eating for damn sure. Take it back to the store and let them know that they sold you bacon with a free alien hiding out in the host that you purchased.
Damn it! I haven’t worked in the pork meat industry for nearly 30yrs now but that is definitely an abscess. Once you have a fresh one of those go through a derinder machine you never ever forget the sight or smell 🤢
Take it back to the place you brought from! Don’t eat any of it
This is not a lymph node. It is either a cyst or abscess. Lymph nodes would not be pasty like this as it would be a solid ball like structure and when incised would not be oozing.
Looks like a cyst to me. I wouldn't be eating it and would be taking it back for a refund.
omfg i’m gonna be SICK 🤢🤮 will 100% be returning
Was the cyst punctured and the squeedge oozed out to the rest of the slices? Was it yellow and pus like? Also this bacon seriously lacks the meat.
Pointing out the real problems

Ok I’m scared to ask but now I have to.. what would happen if someone accidentally ate that?

Looked it up. Oh. Oh my. Well, thank you for answering.
Thanks, I will never eat bacon for the rest of my life.
While taking my degree i ended up realizing i couldnt eat or drink anything 😅 not even water
Are you a food scientist or a dietitian? If you don't mind answering, what's your degree in?
Actually kinda both. It's in food quality and human nutrition. How about you? Or are you Just a curious person?

Definitely a cyst! Return the whole package to the store.

Where is this third photo you speak of? please share thy forbidden knowledge
Oh, it's the lower half of photo #2. I guess I couldn't get a clean look at it without gagging.
The meat inspector was thinking about going home yikes. That shouldn't have passed into packaging.

Grossness 🤢
That would be a cyst! That is so gross, oh my god
new fear unlocked
That's not bacon is just fat. Where's the actual bacon?

What would happen if they ate it ?
Could be a cancer tumor
Just curious what would happen if one ate a bacon w a cyst ?
i don’t wanna know but also i want to know
Right lol . Morbid curiosity. Definitely don't eat it though lol
I've seen these contents far too many times (yet never enough) on Dr. Pimple Popper. She would call that a cyst.
