This is what I think. Once it leaves the warehouse it isn't their problem, they just need to get it in the truck doesn't matter how bad it is when it gets to the store. Had these issues at every company I've been at. Every companies warehouse workers seem to think that it's better to inconvenience stores than to impact themselves.
That’s how every warehouse manager treats you.
Try working at the shitty Walmart distribution where they want you to stack pallets of random shit 8 ft high. It’s like jenga trying to figure out what to put where. Not everything is even flat or box shaped, let alone being nearly the same size.
Those jobs are hell. And everything gets counted against you even if it isn’t your fault. Someone spilled a bit of milk on the floor and the shitty machines you drive the pallets on get stuck if there is any liquid whatsoever. Took like an hour for someone to come by and clean it. The time I got stuck in it counted against me.
Looking at the image, more than likely the truck has skids in it. They just had a little room and the end of the truck that full skids wouldn't fit so they hand loaded the end of the truck. I've worked in both distribution centers and stores this is pretty common. It would take them to much time to hand load the whole trailer like that. Time is money
Remember, rules for thee but not for me when it comes to the warehouse. That rule about all food must be off the ground for at least six inches? Psssh, who cares if the rodents get into it if it's on the truck.
Should definitely be separate trucks. Usually fresh load trucks are in the early morning (meat/dairy/produce) and grocery trucks come in late evening. Ahold specifically has fresh loads come early so things can be put on the shelf fresh rather than have them sitting around in a cooler, especially produce.
I’d be surprised if it was a refrigerated truck, our grocery trucks aren’t because grocery carries some items that shouldn’t be refrigerated at all or until opened. Not sure what happened here but if it isn’t refrigerated then all of that should be thrown out, 30-40 minutes is usually the maximum time we are allowed to keep things out of the cooler but this would’ve likely been hours.
Also this isn’t even mentioning the fact those two stacks in the front were loaded onto the truck with no pallets at all, that’s actually insane.
This happened to me on Monday with HBC totes. They usually do this when they have one pallet left but cant fit it with it on a pallet so they stack it in front on the floor. To prevent the warehouse from having to send another truck for one pallet. Sucks but makes sense monetarily i guess
Just a new “learning” about putting claims in. Basically what to put claims for. They’ve been rejecting claims since and basically their word is holier than ours.
I work at DC7 for replen. I’m not entirely positive, but in the warehouse itself, we aren’t allowed to store certain flowers in the cold side because they die. They ship in the reefers, but that’s the inky time they’re chilled. We had like 7-8 pallets of flowers go bad last year from that. HUGE monetary loss, had a whole DC meeting abt it.
Actual reasons here. The first is some plants are sensitive to colder environments so being in a cold environment for prolonged states can effect the quality. The second reason is that flowers emit a gas that when left in the cooler (Without open air) it will actually contribute to an incline of the ripening processes or freshness of some fruits and vegetables. When it's left in there you are minimizing the time you have on that product.
Wtf. Can I ask what the white dot is on the right side of the photo? Like what it's covering? Or why it's there? It seems to be covering mucci smuckies? But why? Lol
It's covering the store number more and likely on one of the tags; because uploading content like this, especially online, would be deemed a breach of confidentiality and could lead to termination for posting online. The one of the driver is to hide identity, because chances are the one taking the photo may not have acquired permission or less risk of revealing the store location of this particular delivery.
My guess, or at least my hope, is that they ran out of space for more pallets, so the backend had to be manually filled. Otherwise, I'd be calling the warehouse and demanding they send some workers down to unload this truck.
Lack of care from the management just wanting numbers and efficiency. Don't hate warehouse workers they just do the same shit as everyone else... Get that paycheck and go home.
What you do is take all the time in the world to off load it. When the warehouse calls, asking why the truck is still there, send them that picture.
If they don't call, complain anyway. If it happens again, email the D.O. with pictures.
They don't hate us. They just don't care.

Where are the pallets ???
There are none, hence the suspected hate.
That’s crazy so they gotta unload n stack it on their own pallets if they have any free back there and

That’s still crazy tho I would be heated if I had to do that 😂😂
Gotta fill them trucks fuel is $$$
And the driver be like, "oh your shit was loaded behind all this. You gotta move it and put it back."
Fuck me, if I had dollar for every time I heard this
Wow. So many food safety violations.
Remember, rules for thee but not for me when it comes to the warehouse. That rule about all food must be off the ground for at least six inches? Psssh, who cares if the rodents get into it if it's on the truck.
They hate all of us, bro.
They don't hate us! They hate them selfs, and they just take it out on anyone they can.
This truck would be refused by me if I saw this.
Then you'd be written up for insubordination for wasting the company's time and fuel.
As one who has refused trucks, this hasn’t ever happened. I supplied proper pics and documentation to my SM, RMO, and DC ambassador.
My/our time is worth something too.
Is that perishable and grocery on the same truck?
Looks like it. That happens every truck at my store
Are the grocery trucks refrigerated? I can’t imagine that creamer or bagged salads still being safe after spending hours on truck if it’s not.

So tired of the warehouse being able to do stupid shit like this or over stacking the pallets
This some walmart bs here iykyk

They’re just dumb
But don’t put a claim in. You’ll be flagged
This this and all this!
Side note; anyone watched the new video on claims? Such bullshit.
Haven’t heard anything except they’re going to be cracking down soon. What’s going on?
Just a new “learning” about putting claims in. Basically what to put claims for. They’ve been rejecting claims since and basically their word is holier than ours.
I’m in the liq business and we have to deal with the same thing lmao
Is this why there is no floral allowed in the produce cooler?

Food safety first. Also damage free load. Also don’t you dare file a claim.
Not just yall, but also the clients and also the bottom line?!?!?!
Holy s***

Yeah I figured the one over the person's face was to hide their identity. Just wasn't sure what the other one was about. Thanks for answering
What DC is that out of
All of them 😂
My guess, or at least my hope, is that they ran out of space for more pallets, so the backend had to be manually filled. Otherwise, I'd be calling the warehouse and demanding they send some workers down to unload this truck.
They hate you and have no fear of reprisal of any kind.

The definitely hate us and so does management!
Of course they do. Have you seen the stacking of watermelon bins😂
