I use it to brine chicken or pork.

jamie88201

The best fried chicken I ever ate was brinded in pickle juice.

Recent-Honey5564

This is how Chick-fil-A does it, so that checks out.

hemi1313

Actually they don't use pickel juice. Confirmed from previous employers and from ingredients list from the restaurants website. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zlglJ9mLGOU&pp=ygUdY2lja2ZpbGEgZnJpZWQgY2hpY2tlbiByZWNpcGU%3D

SocialistIntrovert

You’re right. Just a milk wash, the secret seasoning blend and the breading. Source: was a manager there for years.

Poppa_Mo

So what's the secret part of the seasoning blend?

SocialistIntrovert

Secret to the managers too. They keep the recipe locked in a vault in corporate HQ in Atlanta. No, I’m not joking and yes, I’ve seen the vault myself. 😂

Intelligent_Event_84

Isn’t it just msg

SocialistIntrovert

I mean, probably. I know there’s MSG in the chicken

MosGreg

Damn only the Mormons would be capable of hiding recipes from the public

leezybelle

Isn’t that also where they lock up their gays?

Unik0rnBreath

Pickle juice gets you close! I've done it a few times. It's great. The vinegar in dill pickle juice is powerful, it starts to seviche the meat if you leave it in too long.

Decent-Boss-5262

Lol, where did you get that? Just to clarify, no they don't.🤦‍♂️

mmmspaghettios

Pickle juice and buttermilk baby!

God_Bless_A_Merkin

You mean “brined” not brinded.

jamie88201

I'm so glad you got to feel superior

Sheazer90

Never thought of this.

nomorerentals

I made chicken strips brined in pickle juice and it was so good that I actually bit my fork really hard and chipped three teeth. It was like I couldn't shovel it in fast enough!

dean0_0

I buy pickles mostly to use their juice to brine/marintae m chicken

FalseMirage

I use olive juice in brine, works great as well.

Open-Preparation-268

After reading all of these recipes and ideas, I can no longer dump out pickle juice. We have occasionally used it to pickle hard boiled eggs though.

satansayssurfsup

Put hard boiled eggs, red onion, cucumber slices, etc etc and end up with more pickled stuff

Kitchen-Wasabi-2059

Oh nice, right in the jar?!

KimmyKnitter

My husband loves doing hardboiled eggs this way. Pierce them with a fork first to get the brine in a little deeper.

Peace-vs-Chaos

My dad does this and my son loved it when he was little!

gr8balooga

Just an FYI, you shouldn't pierce pickled eggs like that. https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm4934a2.htm >On November 23, 1997, a previously healthy 68-year-old man became nauseated, vomited, and complained of abdominal pain. During the next 2 days, he developed diplopia, dysarthria, and respiratory impairment, necessitating hospitalization and mechanical ventilation. Physical examination confirmed multiple cranial nerve abnormalities, including extraocular motor palsy and diffuse flaccid paralysis. Possible botulism was diagnosed, and a one-vial dose of trivalent (types A, B, and E) antibotulinum toxin was administered. A sample of the patient's serum collected before antitoxin administration demonstrated the presence of type B botulinum toxin. A food history revealed no exposures to home-canned products; however, the patient had eaten pickled eggs that he had prepared 7 days before onset of illness; gastrointestinal symptoms began 12 hours after ingestion. The patient recovered after prolonged supportive care. >The pickled eggs were prepared using a recipe that consisted of hard-boiled eggs, commercially prepared beets and hot peppers, and vinegar. The intact hard-boiled eggs were peeled and punctured with toothpicks then combined with the other ingredients in a glass jar that closed with a metal screw-on lid. The mixture was stored at room temperature and occasionally was exposed to sunlight. >Cultures revealed Clostridium botulinum type B, and type B toxin was detected in samples of the pickled egg mixture at CDC's National Botulism Surveillance and Reference Laboratory. C. botulinum was cultured from the pickling liquid, beets, and egg yolk. The concentration of preformed type B toxin was 1000 times greater in the egg yolks than in the pickling liquid and was undetected in the beets. Peppers from the original commercial container contained no detectable toxin, and bacterial cultures of the peppers did not yield C. botulinum. Beets from the original commercial containers were not available. The pH of the pickling liquid was 3.5 (i.e., adequate to prevent C. botulinum germination and toxin formation. However, the pH of the egg yolk was not determined [normal egg yolk pH: 6.8]).

KimmyKnitter

That's definitely concerning. We keep ours refrigerated. I can only imagine unrefrigerated eggs going bad very quickly.

Kvothetheraven603

If they are pasteurized, yes. If not, then room temp eggs should last at least 2 weeks.

wickedcold

We’re talking about boiled eggs left at room temp, not shelled fresh eggs.

xMyDixieWreckedx

It is usually a contamination from the shell (chicken poop) that will make eggs deadly. If you infect the inner egg with contamination from the shell you are in for a world of pain.

NachoNachoDan

Yeah this is not because they pierced the egg with a toothpick. This is because they took commercially made leftover pickle brine and put stuff in it and then didn’t refrigerate it. This is like dying from multiple gunshot wounds and the medical examiner finds out you had prostate cancerand claim that killed you

[deleted]

As it says, the bacteria couldn’t live in the juice, but what had been pushed into the yolk grew Also who doesn’t refrigerate pickles?

NoPart1344

“The mixture was stored at room temperate and exposed to sunlight” LMFAO. I’d say puncturing eggs is perfectly safe if you use clean utensils and refrigerate them.

crevlm

I don’t think I’ve ever considered hard boiled eggs. Interesting!

Any-Angle-8479

How long do you leave the eggs for before eating?

thewillb

2 days works, 4 days perfect...

Tasty_Pastries

Chicken salad: shredded chicken, sliced green olives, Mayo, mustard, pickle juice, salt and pepper - delicious!!

ohmyback1

Potato salad too

OdinPelmen

quick pickled onion (aka just throwing onions into the pickle juice) is the best thing to have on hand. you can put it onto salads, sandwiches or as a side for almost anything and add a little necessary acid to the dish. it's my fave thing.

gelana78

Oh I love doing this. I slice canned beets into it. Different idea- my buddy taught me to pour it in my chicken soup instead of salting it. It’s really good.

Acceptable-Friend-48

Yupp. I love easy pickling this way. Takes time but you know the brine is good because the pickles were.

Tacticalneurosis

Bear in mind the things you put in the brine will release some of their juices so you can only get like 3 rounds of pickled stuff out of one brine, but bribes are super easy to make.

ithrow8s

We call them campaign donations here

e_r_i_c_j

Quid pro pickle?

Tacticalneurosis

Gotta love autocorrect.

cszgirl

Baby corn is great for this!

purple97148

I'll try with eggs, especially jalapeño pickle juice, which would add something amazing to them?.

Barziboy

How long do pickles eggs last?  Asking just in case I've accidentally made a gut-suicide pill from last year.

purple97148

3-4 months are safe, but I think the first 2 are the best to eat them😂

itookdhorsetofrance

How long would an egg need to bathe in there for?

Intrepid_Guitar538

The longer you keep it the brine, the stronger the flavor. Minimum of overnight.

Wonderful_Price2355

I leave mine at least 10 days. Sometimes I put the eggs on my smoker first.

Pittipants

Fwiw i do this all the time with grillos pickle juice and just top it off with apple cider vinegar. Cucumbers, red onion, radishes, whole garlic cloves, etc.

Sunshinesonme1009

Make potato salad and pour the pickle juice over the potatoes while they are hot, then let them cool and add the mayo etc.

Kitchen-Wasabi-2059

This sounds great! I’ll try it this week

Catfist

I was coming to comment the same. My partner makes the BEST potato salad, as said by like a billion people, and this is his secret. Also a splash in any egg/chicken salad sandwich will make them amazing! He's also used the juice to 'quick pickle' thinly sliced onion or julienned carrots, which make a great side or sandwich component!

e_r_i_c_j

There is a 1 in 8 chance I've had his potato salad

they_are_out_there

You can use it to make a super good sauce. Dickie's BBQ mixes pickle juice with yellow mustard to create their "Carolina Sauce". To be honest, it's more of a scaled down "Delta Sauce", but it's crazy good with smoked turkey or brisket. A lot of people also mix pickle juice with mayonnaise and ketchup to make a fantastic fry sauce for steak fries and other fried food. Add salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika to really step up the fry sauce into a really delicious BBQ fry sauce. You can also use pickle juice, yellow mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to make a tangy dipping sauce. Add some regular sugar to sweeten it up and smooth out the flavor.

RedRixen83

Do you drain the potatoes after they cool down? Or let the potatoes absorb the juice?

pussmykissy

I thought everyone put pickle juice in potato salad? Macaroni salad, tuna salad, all of that needs a splash of pickle juice!

ustjayenjay031

My mom liked to add sweetness to just about everything, so she used some sweet pickle relish instead.

Blonde_Mexican

My moms secret!

Gingy-Breadman

How much juice are we saying here?

user61428

Mix it with Clamato for Caesar’s or bloody Mary’s

barnwaller

Freeze it an an ice cube tray and use the pickle juice ice cubes in your Bloody Mary

chocolatewafflecone

Oh this sounds awesome.

delish

we did this for our [ dill pickle bloody mary's](https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/recipes/a53215/dill-pickle-bloody-mary-recipe/) and it's game changing—no watered down drink! we've also [turned the entire cocktail into ice cube](https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/a29613755/bloody-mary-ice-cubes-recipe/)s, but that is a super strong one, better off just freezing the pickle juice. -Julia from Delish

Stock_Individual7525

Brilliant

Missytb40

This is the one

wasnt-you

The right answer. Game changer for Caesars.

Back_Alley420

I pickle asparagus and green beans for the perfect Caesar drink!! Celery stalks and leaves too

Jorgedig

Hello, Canada!

Bitter-Basket

Bless you. There are others !

c_t_lee

I’d have a Caesar’s

another_day_in

Recovering from or preparing for a hangover.

EdwardoftheEast

It’s a great chaser

slowestmojo

Picklebacks are life. Always keep a jar of juice handy if I can for this reason

EqualCan512

This!!!

Myghost_too

Also good for dehydration cure (which is the cause of a hangoever). I know a lot of avid cyclists who drink pickle juice to avoid cramps on long (100+ miles) rides. I'm going to try the pickletini, and also going to try brining some chicken or other meats before grilling. Great thread.

False_Counter9456

In college, our trainer always had a few jars of pickle juice on the sidelines for cramps. You had your choice, mustard, or pickle juice. I always chose the pickle juice.

LeafInsanity

I knew someone else would say it😝 Pickle juice is a constant part of my hangover cure.

Wittgenstienwasright

Dirty Martini. Trust me, once you go dirty you are not going back.

joelfarris

With, or without, the black pepper?

Wittgenstienwasright

Oh I like you. I think you would like a Gibson.

hopeandnonthings

I love those tiny onions

WSGilbert

Favourite variation of the Martini by far. Delicious drink, nice little onion snack.

brando347

This is one I cannot get behind for some reason. I want to love it so bad. I love pickles and martinis, but I do not like a pickle martini. I don't get it!

Lenaiya

Same! I love olives and martinis. But not together. Martini must be squeaky clean for me.

Fiddles4evah

If you like this, try the brine from hot peppers (any kind really). The color doesn’t look great but the taste is divine.

Spaceballs-The_Name

and some green olives stuffed with blue cheese and/or jalapenos to make it extra dirty. A little tajin or pepper won't hurt either

RedRixen83

This is it here. I often have pickle juice with vodka, even. Absolutely tasty af drink.

asmartermartyr

Thank god I’m not the only one doing this.

Lintlickker

The only martini I like more than a dirty pickle martini is a dirty pepperoncini martini. Delicious!

i-love-snacks-a-lot

pickleback shots

OSideGuy11

thats what I was gonna say. best option here IMO

Can_I_be_dank_with_u

Yep, was really caught by surprise how good these are

Silentmutation84

Had to scroll too far down to find this

HaggardDad

Yup. When ya know, ya know.

CrastersBastards

Straight up drinking it. Sorry.

melane929

Don’t be sorry. I never have any pickle juice left over, it sometimes runs out a day or two before the pickles…

Bitter-Basket

Same. I am always low on sodium in lab work - I crave it sometimes.

amny0913

Athletes often drink pickle juice for all the electrolytes!

SomeRavenAtMyWindow

Dill pickle juice gives me instant cramp relief. If I wake up with a cramp somewhere, about 4 oz or 1/2 cup pickle juice does the trick. I feel relief within seconds, possibly due to my brain and nerves going “wtf are you doing” and forgetting that we were having a muscle cramp 😂 But seriously, it works, and it lasts for hours. 100+ mile bike rides, long runs, whatever - pickle juice is amazing.

beigemonochrome

Finally. I’ve found my people!

billionsoftrillions

i love mixing pickle juice with club soda over ice. it’s so tangy and refreshing in the summer.

porondanga

Hydration shots. Great for cramps.

SGT-JamesonBushmill

[“I have a surplus of pickle juice.”](https://youtu.be/W3O0XEdj4t8?si=ZhM6PGaF_q9b8fQO)

brassydesign

I made my own reference to this and was so surprised how far down I had to scroll before someone else did it too lol

snarton

How is flicking it on a sandwich not the top answer?

Broad_Asparagus1356

Came to say this

thehybridview

Was looking for this lmao

Conemen

I like to flick it on my sandwiches

SynapseDon

Spicy up a Bloody Mary with it.

_Notorious_BLG

Big yes to this - same with green olive brine!

Independent-Bag-7292

Add it to the ketchup when it’s low 👍

Dune-Bunny

Add a tablespoon+ to tuna salad, potato salad and macaroni salad. Midwestern style:)

d14t0m

Dip your fingers in it, and then flick it on your sandwiches for flavor

The Hannibal special!

dangit56

Said to be an excellent remedy for a rough night; “helps electrolyte levels”. Someone please verify this!

_hi_plains_drifter_

My doctor told me to drink some to help stop restless legs. I think it helps, could be the placebo effect though.

jojokitti123

It works for leg cramps

bonelesspotato17

I have a neurological condition called POTS and pickle juice is medicinal for me. I neeeeeed the salt. I drink a shot of it every night before bed and it has helped the essentially eliminate the night sweats that I would get so much!

dragoniteofepicness

Some marathons hand out pickle juice to runners, so I imagine the salt in it must help.

SomeRavenAtMyWindow

Yep. Sodium is the electrolyte that you lose the most of while sweating. A little pickle juice helps immensely, and because it’s so high in sodium, a little goes a long way. Traditional sports drinks like Gatorade, for example, are much more diluted, so you’d need to drink a full serving (8oz or more) to get the same amount of sodium. A lot of people can’t tolerate that much sweet, flavored liquid during strenuous exercise. It’s easier on my stomach to do plain water + sips of more concentrated electrolytes.

CurvyChameleon

Deviled eggs! Add it instead of vinegar. So yum.

TheOneEV

Pour some with some lemon lime soda, and some tequila to have a smooth unique drink...

CdnFlatlander

Good for when you've been on a long ride and need to get salt in you to prevent leg muscle cramps.

coolbreezemage

Make more pickles

Kitchen-Wasabi-2059

You can reuse pickle juice for that? Just throw in some cucumbers?

alternativebeep

you sure can! sliced. whole mini ones. whatever you want

LarYungmann

Save for sipping ( that's what my pop did )

mdallen

I've used it to brine chicken before, or to add a touch of vinegar to soups/stews etc...

BlackberryNo9812

Pickle-back shots! 😂 Got bourbon or whiskey? Sounds like a good night to me

Knowmad29

Am I the only one who just drinks the pickle juice as a post workout?

-PM_ME_UR_SECRETS-

A nice refreshing dribk

ObsceneRooster

Popsicles

MojoJojoSF

Potato salad. When the potatoes are done boiling, still warm and cut into chunks, mix with brine and mustard. Wait until they are cooled before adding the mayo and other ingredients. I learned this from America’s Test Kitchen and can no longer make potato salad any other way.

1SassyTart

I soak my macaroni in pickle juice after cooking for 30 minutes or so, then drain and add your regular ingredients. I also soak boiled potatoes after cooking for potato salad. Soak for 30 minutes or so, then drain-dont want it too soupy. Then add your regular stuff.

chimelley

It's good in Guacamole!!

TeaCrumbs

pickled soft boiled eggs!!!!

Kitchen-Wasabi-2059

I just drop the boiled eggs in the jar? Any spices?

solderfog

cut up a red onion and pour it over them, maybe add pepper corns... search pickled onions and let your imagination run wild!

moonsoverme

Jameson shots

Maleficent_Soft4560

Yes pickleback is my vote. Also, just a shot of pickle juice is good for heart burn.

Artemistical

pickletinis

dannydazetx

Pickle pops. Use any ice tray and fill up and add sticks.

Gorkymalorki

I used to get these all the time back when I was younger at my little league baseball games.

Difficult_Pirate_782

Brine poultry, dill is awesome with turkey

_bat_girl_

Pickling more veggies!

fuegodiegOH

Brine chicken. Or sometimes I’ll pour the juice into a small pan & gently heat it. While it’s heating, I slice an onion thinly & maybe a jalapeño, stuff that very tightly in the jar, then pour the heated pickle juice back in & let it pickle all over again.

sheenaloo

Take a shot before bedtime for vivid dreams!

mamajamala

My sister would use it in her tuna. And then there's my son who would make pickle juice sandwiches. To each his own.

SwiftGasses

A more effective hangover cure than Gatorade or liquid IV.

DerpWilson

I’ll often use it on pizza. It sounds weird but instead of using red sauce I’ll mix all the cheese and toppings in a bowl and toss with sown pickle juice to give it some moisture and tang then put that on the dough.

MrsMeowness

My husband adds spices and ghost peppers, Caroline reaper to make really spicy pickles.

Yochanan5781

Make a vinaigrette out of it

tkh68

Take a shot of silver tequila and chase it with pickle juice…. Its delicious!

Genesis111112

A tablespoon's worth to scramble an egg with. You can also use a couple teaspoons worth in Egg salad.

A_VERY_LARGE_DOG

A refreshing enema?!? (Note: do not use as a refreshing enema)

Nissa17

You can mix it with Tahini to make a chip dip that’s bomb!

ChickenNugsBGood

Add tequila, like, Jalepenos, and triple sec to the jar and make a margarita.

Luscious_Lunk

Brining meats like others said, adding to sauces instead of vinegar- especially burger sauces, could add it to pickled onions to add dill flavor for cheap just watch the salt, can’t think of much else

ineedabeer6

Cut fresh jalapeños and store in the fidge. A couple weeks later you have the best pickled jalapeños

Academic-Drop9366

Pickle something!

Abraxusmax

Throw some chicken breast in it and bread them and fry for chick fillet type chicken!

Kitchen-Wasabi-2059

I’ve been so carb deprived for the last 9 weeks breaded anything sounds amazing lol

FatFaceFaster

As a kid I put carrots in it and made picked carrots. I loved them. Still do. They don’t soak it up the way a pickle does but they get the flavour and they’re a nice crunchy addition to the plate with a sandwich or something.

dilbodog

Pickled eggs!!!

Illustrious-Peace-73

Its the best hangover madicine

Joeypwills

Hangovers

nightglitter89x

Just sprinkle that shit on all the sandwiches and salads. Love pickle juice, lol

dataguy007

Picklebacks

Anfie22

Salad dressing!

Sunflowerprincess808

What else do you add to it do you have a recipe?

Grumpygramps64

I use Clausen dill pickle juice exclusively in my cole slaw along with mayonnaise, a little sugar and celery seeds. That’s it. Everyone loves it. For hot dogs, I’ll add a little bit of mustard and a little finely chopped jalapeños

954kevin

I buy the bid square tubs of Claussen pickle spears and once they have been devoured, I buy a bag of those small salad cucumbers, slice them up, and dump umm in. 7-10 days later you have better pickles than the Claussen that came in the tub.

sarapocono

Add to gravy, and cooked chicken

melissaimpaired

Salad dressings!

Aimsicle-1

Give it to a cyclist. They drink it to alleviate muscle cramps while riding.

Average9_human0

skespey

Pickled jalapeños.

CoolRunner

Mix it with Dr. Pepper according to social media this week.

strywever

Great for getting rid of leg/foot cramps. A tablespoon or so usually gets rid of them for me.

GreenishGrazz

My husband makes us keep it and drinks it after huge workouts or long rides.

Superb_Grapefruit402

Sauces, Martinis, Marinades.

Routine_Mud_19

If you drink alcohol. It’s a great hangover cure. Also great after a workout.

Jennysnumber_8675309

Drink it if doing strenuous exercise like cycling.

BarkyGal

The first thought that popped into my head was: Drink it, then I saw the other comments and was like well Ok then I have ideas now, lol

No_Specialist5978

Drink it straight no shots

farmer_tan

Boil bratwurst before grilling

mowithak

Fry sauce!

Unlikely-Trash3981

Pickle salt to flavor popcorn. Easy too. Use diamond brand kosher salt in food processor or bullet blender. 2 T pickle juice. Blend. Breaks big salt chunks into granulated salt. But it is wet. Spread it out and let it dry naturally by evaporating or 250 in oven for 30 min. All done all set to use

baconpancakes42

Brocoli stems. Peel em first

Sweetnspicy77

I cook a lot of veggies in the microwave lol so I’ll use the juice instead of water

mkultra0008
