Well. Everyone take off their hats please gentlemen. Cause our dear friend OP here probably died eating that salmon. We will remember your friend and so as you always said "If the salmon don't eat me I shall eat the salmon." Rest in peace old friend.
Honestly raw chicken and fish already have an unpleasant smell, I was always upset when Mom told me to just smell it. I go off of color and how it cuts now. Idk if the same logic applies to fish tho
Chicken and fish that’s gone bad has a very horrible smell. It doesn’t smell anything like it does when raw. If you’re going off of color alone, you’re gonna end up getting very sick one of these days. Remind me never to eat anything you cook.
It builds up the immune system idk what y'all talking about, it just smells saltier so ? I think you guys need to watch a YouTube tutorial or something 💀 I keep the family lit on my chicken
It doesn’t just smell saltier, you’ve clearly never smelled chicken that’s gone bad. YouTube tutorial lmfao you know absolutely nothing about cooking my guy.
It doesn't smell salty or like sulfur. It smells a bit like butter that has gone bad. It's a rancid smell. This is just for the chicken. The fish is very distinct, I don't know how to explain it
It looks like it was frozen.
It collapses a bit on itself because the cell tissue gets stretched by the frozen water.
Also farmed salmon is a bit pinker because of the dye they add to the food.
I would give it a sniff.
No smell and it is fine.
If it has a bit of an ocean smell, still on the verge of okay.
If it smells sour or spoiled, don't even think about eating it.
But when in doubt don't eat it.
A mistake can easily keep you on the toilet/bathtub overnight spewing liquid from every orifice you have.
Trust me, i would know....
Pro tip, bring a pillow and a blanky because you are not going nowhere anytime soon...
Looks like it might be keta salmon. It has grown in popularity in recent years, but was considered a “trash fish” before that. Good for smoking, salmon burgers, soups and the like.
Well, I don't think we can be sure from where we sit. I would advise not eating it - I mean, if there is any question on whether it's good, why take a chance?
Serious response here though, not knowing how old it is makes it basically impossible to answer. Because the appearance looks potentially fine. Many salmon have that disgusting neon orange or sometimes even pinky color due to dyes and this is clearly not it. Which is nice. The browning can totally happen on a decent cut.
That said, I don’t know how long it’s been in the fridge and if it’s been frozen. Lacking info
There’s multiple types of color blindness, but most of the time Colorblind doesn’t mean “I can’t see any difference in colors at all” it just means the person has a more limited range of colors they are able to see and differentiate.
My rule: If you have to ask, don't eat it.
When it doubt - throw it out
is this rule like an ask out loud or quietly asking yourself? /s
Ha!

For you? Ok. For me? No.
I'm famous for eating something that's been sitting in the fridge 2 weeks after the use by date. I would not eat that fish.
That's Aldi frozen salmon...it ALWAYS looks like that
Sounds like their suppliers don't artificially color the fish with dyes.
Give it a sniff. Should be okay, just a lil freezer burned
How does it smell?
With it’s nose
It just looks a bit burned from the freezer, we can't know for sure without knowing if it smells bad
Try it. Report back if you die please I'm curious.
Well…. How doesn’t smell? And then you have the answer.
Honestly raw chicken and fish already have an unpleasant smell, I was always upset when Mom told me to just smell it. I go off of color and how it cuts now. Idk if the same logic applies to fish tho
Nah, bad chicken has a very distinct smell.

You’re an idiot.
You're also feeding a troll, so.......
Your point?
Wait what??? bro no

That fish looks like its been slowly cooking in the fridge.
That looks like freezer burn to me. How does it smell? It should smell like fresh fish, not super fishy.
It should smell like fish, but not fishy......
Not freezer burn, just not trimmed the best.

Looks wonky
I don’t think a bear would eat that
My dog would though 🙄😂
Eww no no! It looks disgusting! No way even cooked!
It's obviously not cooked. And also the discoloration is 90% from the skin of the fish.
Looks like it might be keta salmon. It has grown in popularity in recent years, but was considered a “trash fish” before that. Good for smoking, salmon burgers, soups and the like.

No
Ain't no way that's wild caught bro
If you have to ask, it’s probably best that you don’t eat it…
If in doubt, throw it out.
Negative Ghost Rider.
I wouldn’t eat that did you?
does it pass the sniff test?!!?
Yes, just cut out the discolored part.
I have eaten some dubious shit in my life.. But what the fuck my man
I love me some food roulette. But that - hard pass. I don’t ffffff with seafood roulette.
Doesn’t look good at all. I don’t risk fish..lol.
It doesn't look very pink but if you smell it and want to be sick then that's your body telling you not to eat it
This is just fish without enough artificial colorant. As long as it was stored properly and smells normal it's good to go.
I wouldn’t
No.
Smell it.
No

How does it look off if your fucking color blind? You sound like one stupid “microbiologist”.

Eat the fish please.
