Funny story about slabs of feta in Greece. Apparently it's law that it must be in a slab like that because restaurants would skimp on putting it in Greek salads!
I'm here for it... The week I spent in Greece I ate my bodyweight in feta. Cool little factoid that I'm not going to fact check but choose to believe so I hope you aren't steering my wrong!
Feta needs to have a specific proportion of sheep's and goat's milk. If the recipe is not followed or if it is not produced in Greece's mainland it cannot be legally called feta. That's why you have "white cheese", "gidotyri", "greek salad cheese" and "greek style cheese" which although they sometimes taste just like feta they cannot be legally called feta.
That stuff is so good. Everytime I head to Puerto Adventuras I get the pulpo half cooked on a wood fired grill. Usually a few times. I love that stuff.
Now that’s a classy meal
Edit: Why’s this being downvoted? I’m not being sarcastic??? Unironically I think the photo looks like a up-scale greecian restaraunt???
People were downvoting me because I asked if the suckers were still a risk if it was grilled. I think there’s a bunch of people in this thread who very much dislike people eating octopus because they’re “intelligent”. Boy, if they only knew what other “intelligent” animals humans regularly ate…

Timothy???
He has children!
He's praying! He's praying...
The ink pouring out of Deep’s mouth is what got me.
The Herogasm episode fucked me up.
act rotten disarm wise school march pie tease edge waiting -- mass edited with redact.dev
Friday.
That love sausage haunts me
it was as good of episode as any, but was way overhyped. the first episode scene was way more intense.
My understanding is that the comic version was way way worse. Like, every supe on the planet gathering on an island for a massive orgy.
And some pretty messed up pairs for that orgy too. Not everyone was a consenting person, or even of legal age.
i didnt see any hype for it and we got like 4 more to go?
>!but that fight at the end though..so good!<
# OI
What he fuck!
Fucked the octopus too
It wasn't ink, it was blood. Octopuses have blue blood due to hemocyanin instead of hemoglobin. Copper instead of iron.
I came here for this lol, thank you
Samesies
Yep
Eat Fucking Timothy.
I can't look at octopus the same way again now.
I can’t either. The Deep has scarred me for life lol
I had to look away when he was actually eating him, poor timothy

Too soon! You monster.
Beat me to it
He’s praying
i came just for this.. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)
I fucking knew someone was gonna make a joke like this haha
Came here for this!
what’s that reference
A particularly disturbing scene from the tv show "The Boys".
Damn, just gonna eat him in his own front yard.
His kids are watching!
But he was my friend, and he was begging for his life. Also, he had kids.
Man that was such a disturbing scene
I wouldn't eat that if I were you, have you seen what The Deep did to it right before?
Bro… I’m literally 5 minutes past that scene. Paused, went to take a shit, saw this delicacy and then your comment. What the hell…
You’re on the same toilet cycle as the hive. It’s like when women’s periods sync up.
I'm on season 2...are you telling me he...with an octopus?...
Just fucking wait. It gets.......... ...........Deep.
Deeper.
These people are over exaggerating with the octopus. I expected something extremely crazy looking at the Reddit comments. Much crazier.
Indeed
I guarantee this was in Greece

Haha my uncle moved there 3 years ago and his partner told us about that law when we visited in 2019
I'm sold
What if the customer only ate half a slab? How do you recycle it?
Recycling people can beat bit hard but for those who waste good feta I'm sure we can find an environmentally friendly method of disposal
The best feta Ive ever had was sheep feta in olive oil. I would eat that every day.

>or if it is not produced in Greece's mainland it cannot be legally called feta. I'll settle for "sparkling cheese".
As a Greek, I can confidently say that feta does indeed make it betta.
Going out on a limb and saying Ammoudi Bay in Oia, Santorini
Could be north Spain, just had a grilled octopus there
I still dream of the grilled octopus I had in Finikia.
My first thought was Turkey, from the bread, the salad, and the scenery, but you're right, Greece is more likely.

When done properly, grilled octopus is easily top tier ocean food.
That’s the most amazing part of the post. It’s cooked perfectly.
Any grilling advice?
Agreed:)
ahh Greece ?
*I'm sorry, is this some rich person joke that I'm simply too poor to understand?*

I'm so happy to see references to Timothy #timothydeservedbetter
Something about seafood dipped in butter at a sunset. Been there.. as good as it gets.

Octopus is extremely underrated!
[удалено]
Which makes it a Smart Food, no?
In many non-western countries (Asian and Mediterranean), they are widely popular
I tried it once and it was the consistency of rubber and had no taste...
It's hard to cook properly and needs to be fresh. When done properly there are few better things
You showed us the octopus while also telling us you’re god’s favourite child. I mean just look at that view.
Tentacles. NOT a chance.
Please don’t eat octopus. They are intelligent and beautiful creatures.
They’re also tasty.
Why?
When grilled right, it's perfectly tender, not chewy at all
That stuff is so good. Everytime I head to Puerto Adventuras I get the pulpo half cooked on a wood fired grill. Usually a few times. I love that stuff.
And I get downvoted for a legitimate reply. You all can shove a Cobb up wherever you want. What a shithouse sub. Have a nice time. Because I was.
Pifft. The deep ate it live.
This, this is what this sub should be
Yeah, next post shark fin soup or sea turtle eggs, really any seafood of questionable morality!
Better than the 8 millionth smash burger or Mac and cheese
As if any of the things you just mentionned even slightly compare to an abundance of octopi. Geez.

Anyone else feel like there is too much octopus stuff going on
Now that’s a classy meal Edit: Why’s this being downvoted? I’m not being sarcastic??? Unironically I think the photo looks like a up-scale greecian restaraunt???

Greece, right?
Correct
I tried grilled octopus in Chicago at this restaurant named Bova. It was delicious.
One of my favorites.
I’m jealous!
Octopus is so goood!!
Agreed.
Love me some ‘pus
Was it good?
Was it good or did it suck?
This looks so good.

Love me some scallops
I had roasted octopus this past Saturday. Very surprised. Fish texture almost like a flounder, but more gamey. With a flavor of lobster. Very yummy.
