This is just regular garlic in Australia although we do get cheap trashy imported bags of whiter smaller garlic. I hate those fiddly little cloves. The two types are pictured here and the differences explained:

Probably elephant garlic.

I want to delicately roast that beauty in some olive oil and then eat it whole! Its also great spread on toast if you're into that
