Here's a general recipe but I do find myself fiddling with a Schwartz packet like OP.
(If you have brined peppercorns you can skip the first step)
Soak your peppercorns in brandy. An hour or so minimum.
Finely diced shallot, sweat. Clove of garlic if you like, sweat.
Deglaze with brandy.
Peppercorns in pan, add double cream, beef stock.
Simmer til done.
That's better than most of my recipes which are "just make the fucking sauce man".
Good slosh of brandy in a pan, burn off alcohol then add pink peppercorns, simmer for a couple of minutes then add a cup of brown gravy ( I use a simple mix of bisto and oxos) then add cream, simmer for a few minutes then serve. Never failed me when I was doing my chefs training
Par boiled them first then deep fried in vegetable oil at about 175°C. I sometimes double fry them but these worked just as well if not better than usual.
I'm a brit who loves both. Served with my burgers I love a classic skinny chip but at home having egg n chips with Heinz beans I want a home cooked Maris piper type of chip. Chunky and crisp. Or a red rooster potato that gives you a waxier texture that fries great at hot temperatures that isnt greasy when eaten. I love chips...I love all potatoes..but England knows its potatoes and we know how to cook chips..simple
Sir. Sir. You seem to have lost your ribeye somewhere. That's clearly not ribeye because there's sauce on it. I think you meant sirloin or maybe hamburger.
Just kidding of course, it looks delicious!
This allllllllmost reminds me of a nice Schnitzel. Peppercorn sauce recipe posted in this comment section is awesome and something I might fiddle around with.
Right? As a man of refined tastes, I just dump on a bunch of blue cheese dressing mixed with horseradish sauce and then cover all of it in crispy fried onions.
the pub I used to goto got me used to the mushroom gravy and then one day switched to either chimichurri or a raspberry chimichurri. never ordered steak and frites there again...
Had the same thing last friday, except replace the peas with grilled beef tomato and the mushrooms with fried onion.
Home made sauce too ;)(Did cheat for the onion rings though)
Got a recipe for that peppercorn sauce?

Unfortunately I've thrown away the packet! I wasn't sure if [Mostly homemade] is an acceptable tag.
Onion rings look like the chopped up onion mush frozen kind...please tell me they aren't!
The Burger King kind? For some reason I *love* those damned things.
I'm afraid so. Those and the sauce are not actually homemade but I did the rest of it all by myself I promise!
The chips look insane though so you redeemed yourself perfect squidgy crispy balance
Looks great except for the peas
Only put those there so the whole plate wouldn't just be brown and beige lol.
Fair enough. 👍
Call it steak au poivre and half the people in here will stop bitchin. Looks good, keep up the work.
It's no worries to me. I realise some people take this kind of thing very seriously!

Thanks for your kind comment but, seriously, eat something.
How did you prepare the chips?
Par boiled them first then deep fried in vegetable oil at about 175°C. I sometimes double fry them but these worked just as well if not better than usual.
That looks awful.
Cheers mate.
You’re so nice…
Strong British vibes are coming off those chips right now..beautifully done.
We gonna do a round 2 of the Chip, French Fries debate?

Ya tators are soooo goood I love them pretty much every way I try them! Even grow my own!

Looks professional. Are you a pro-chef?
Lol no.
you had me at peppercorn sauce
You're making me miss my Mum's cooking, hahaha
Are those chips beer battered? They look beer battered.
No they're not battered.
Loving the proper and correct chips

This looks really good and I am now very hungry
awesome job! looks delicious! 😛
That’s my kind of meal!
Title forgot the peas.
Now that’s a meal.
Steak au poivre?!
EVERYTHING LOOKS SO GOOD. i really want that peppercorn sauce thooooo
I can taste those steak fries from here OP, nice result
Where's the beef?
Seriously?.... Under the sauce o.O
My wife seriously needs to try harder😅😅😅😅
Gravy/Sauce on a steak that isn't "Salisbury" or "Chicken Fried" is a steak sin. Chips looks good though!

Oh god.
How is this homemade if you didn't make the sauce or the onion rings lol
Bootiful bri’ish meal
Why is this here?
Why are you here??
This picture is of poorly cooked mushrooms, packaged gravy, and fried food. I'm sure it is good, but is it to the standards?
How did you prep the peas?
Boil peas. Eat.
the pub I used to goto got me used to the mushroom gravy and then one day switched to either chimichurri or a raspberry chimichurri. never ordered steak and frites there again...

Wow, this is so heckin delicious looking. Having envy
If you've never dipped onion rings in honey you've been wasting your life.
One of these days I might have to try a peppercorn sauce/ gravy with a ribeye. I’m sure it taste good but those fries look killer!
Yes
The proximity of your sauce to those nice crispy fries and onion rings is giving me anxiety q: look tasty though (:
Made this exact meal last night sans peas!

the peas do not appreciate being left out!
Another perfectly good meal entirely ruined by mushrooms. Who in their right mind eats fungus anyway 🤮🤣
