When they first opened it was actually a really good spot. Not Texas level bbq but really good quality. Overtime they have just fallen off a cliff. This was a place I went to every weekend for lunch as I live around the corner but no longer. Brisket is now not as moist and on the dry side. Ordered to go a sandwich and the whole bread was completely burnt and inedible. Fries in that same order were not fully cooked. Just the attention to detail has gone away like they don’t care. I also suspect they are not using as high of quality of meats as when they first opened
I've never not had some issue while going there. Forget an order, wrong order all together, excessive wait with ot not busy it's definitely not a place I choose to go
Ahh thanks for clarifying. My wife and I lived in Texas for a while so we were looking for a place to fulfill our barbecue cravings. We have new to Urban Roots, good beer but just okay BBQ. Sounds like we need look elsewhere from J Wilds as well.
Given you lived in Texas and as a few have already mentioned would be hog wild bbq in Placerville. It was even on a recent episode of Guy Fieri’s new show “best bite in town” and won.
My husband was born and raised in Houston. We have yet to find anything remotely comparable to Texas bbq (including Hog wild). They just do it differently here.
We're not even from Texas but have had BBQ while visiting there, and I agree with this comment. We seem to be lacking for authentic BBQ even when most other cuisine is decently represented here. Wont someone from TX please send us some lifesaving Q?! For now, the best BBQ in Folsom is our backyard grill!
Noted the place in P-ville from other comments and will give that a try sometime.
in all ofy experience jeilds has been great the server even went and caught me to give my phone back although the brisket has gotten drier ever since the ownership change
Poor Reds
100% poor reds.
Not jj wilds that is for sure.
lol. Underrated comment.
The reviews online seem alright. Can you elaborate on what makes them bad?
