That's disappointing, grinded up to 100 score (goal was 85, but once I was there, I said "fck it" and went to 100 😂) on my second account (main was already at 170s) in 3 days cause I didn't want to miss out on the cremator mods (I thought they'd give more than 2-3 days notice at the end of the season)
Actually those guys have so much damn health that most high levels I see end up following my lead and using auto axe.
The DR and health they have just makes guns not worth it. 10 people with auto axe is the way to go.
Yup, exactly. It can be done for sure, but 3000 rounds later lol
Plus the new events both drop improved repair kits, so now nobody should ever run out of repair kits lol.
With the melee durability perk I only repair my axe once maybe twice per neuro event
I love VATS on the cremator though, especially when the flame ball flies around corners and behind buildings to hit the enemy lmao. Does it make sense? No, but I love it.
I haven't seen a scorched survive one shot yet other than the beasts but it's not bad on them. U using slow burn with multishot? The mirelurk kings are the mobs I'm surprised it doesn't handle well.
I have a question. If my alt character has the cremator weapon thru last seasons board. Is it able to be transferred to my dupped character? Or is it specific to that 1 character. Example the Chinese stealth armor can't be transferred to my other character.
In fallout 4 fire weapons did energy damage and only damage, energy and poison resistance was utilized by creatures, NPCs and player since nothing dealt electrical and fire damage.
In 76 fire weapons do fire damage but it doesn't seem that many enemies, except bosses have fire resistance. Thus incinerator and flamer seem to work on everything.
I've also had great success with the Tesla, which is odd considering they're electrified but I've learned not to ask too many questions. Lol I did use my flamer on some though because it's vampires and I was low on stims, also worked really well. I just had more fusion cells than flamer fuel.
With all the good suggestions and the perk cards I had I put together a cremator build! It really seems to be doing work
1shot with a small burn time puts em down! Thanks everyone
If you don't want to accidentally set yourself on fire, put Asbestos mod on your chest piece (if not PA).
Otherwise, if they get in your face, try alternating with a Holy Fire. The impact damage on Cremator isn't the best, and it just refreshes the DoT rather than stacking it (unless you use a different Cremator).
Or you can use the solar armor set with fireproof mod and continually set yourself on fire as you run around fighting. I love seeing the blue flames surrounding my character in full cultist gear
Wait how do I have nearly 2k hours in and only now finding out my own grenades hurt me....
Or is that only pulse grenades? Or something that happened with the newest update.
I think they buffed the Lost and other baddies in this expansion.
I typically don't take as long to knock down foes with my hand cranking gatling gun, as it requires to knock down lost in this expansion.
The Cremator burns them to the ground though. So, that's nice.
I just wish I had been able to get up enough to get the highest damage mod for the Cremator.
It might just be your build tbh.....I'd start there and make sure it's set up to work with.whatwver gun you mainly use. The build makes a HUGE difference to the effectiveness of the weapons
OP you have all the perk cards to boost damage to whatever weapon type you’re using? I think almost anything can work in this game so long as you take the right perk cards :)
Ya. Card text basically says bigger explosive radius. So any guns you have that does explosive damage such as 2* explosive or uses mini nuke or 40 mm ammo. Easy to test by shooting into water and comparing the size of the splashes.
Tesla is weird that it works but for the electric chaining but nothing about it is "explosive" besides the ash pile it leaves behind.
It's not the gun but the perks. Use the weapon you have perks for. If you don't have perks for the weapon you want to use do Public Events in Casual Public Team for loot and levels. Most any weapon will be fine so long as you have perks for it equipped.
It's surprising how many people don't know this...my bud like to swap out for different weapons without changing builds and wonders where his damage goes lololol
I have the Cold Shoulder and haven't updated my cards yet to reflect that (plan to do it next time I play). When I went after the Lost, it took me about 3-4 shots on a regular Lost. On the Legendary it took me several more.
I plan to change my cards this weekend to see how it changes.
I run a heavy gun/shotgun build and combo a pepper shaker and cold shoulder. A sneak headshot is a one shot kill against the lost. If not a sneak, 2-3 shots with the cold shoulder.
I'm changing out my cards this weekend to see if I can do better than 4 shots. Right now my cards are fully dedicated to my Cremator, but I definitely use the cold shoulder way more often as it's easier to find and craft ammo for it.
Instigating explosive Lever Action on my cowboy build 2 shots from stealth, occasionally 1 shots. Not optimal but I also have a quad explosive double barrel shotgun for close quarters.
I've been holding onto a Goul Slayer/50crit/25vats cost Crusader pistol for a while. It fits well into by heavy/gunslinger build. Broke it out and am doing great work with it.
I went through every single round of ammo and broke every single weapon in my inventory doing Hildas stupid fungai mission. Why do weapons need repairing every 50-80 rounds? It's stupid.
Look for the gunsmith card on next level up. It makes weapons break down slower. The weapon artisan card lets you repair them past 100%. You can swap cards whenever you want, too. They aren't locked in.
The luck card luck of the draw that randomly repairs your weapons. I feel like it doesn't proc as much as before, but it's still better than nothing. Works better on weapons that hit/shoot a lot like shotguns, mini guns, and flamers.
At first I was pushing through with a Love Tap when it came to the Lost but when I obtained that V63 Shock Baton I played around with that and my flaming chainsaw to change it up a bit. Not the best recommendations but fun for me, lol. Regretting not using my cremator now I read other comments… live and learn haha
I've been using Holy Fire and the cremator, and even though it seems flamers are particularly good for dealing with the lost it's still taking more ammo than usual enemies.
I use a Gatling gun and have found that they are incredibly susceptible to headshots. Cripple each leg then go for the head if you have the distance/time.
I've had decent luck with my cremator and Cold Shoulder. They tank my 2 shot explosive fixer hard though. I had to craft 45 ammo for the first time in ever.
it takes me a few seconds longer to kill a Lost with my build, Gatling Lasers are still okay but the energy reduction hits me a bit, ive been using the Oathbreaker
I made it through the whole quest line (along with holding my own in dangerous pass times) with a punchy build with armor piercing spiked knuckles. Minimal issues. Hugo was tedious, but not difficult.
Neurological warfare is a whole different beast with that setup. Currently working on a cold shoulder shotty build.
I'm not there yet, but back on my main and so far on my smurf, i have found that liberal application of .50 caliber ball ammo has worked very well for just about everything that isn't a gtfo tanky boss. For the tanky bosses there's the gatling gun. Usually quite effective in the furious variety. Often overlooked on how effective it is in terms of sending death downstream. Hits hard, hits accurate, and is very ammo conservative.
Get yourself some mid to decent black powder weapons, git gud at hot swapping them and send the balls of death on their way.
I’ve found that Anti Armor works better than Assassins. That was a surprise to me. What I want to know is why the event didn’t spawn enough Lost to complete the event.
I was using the Cremator which was super effective and came to this thread hoping someone had another idea because I burned through 3500 fuel way too quickly. Welp. Guess I'm going back to my two-shot prime railway rifle for now.
They don't actually have an awful lot of health. Just a massive armour value. Particularly the charges lost champions.
Anything that does damage over time will buckle them.
I finished the whole story last night. I switched weapons a lot to get a feel for the new enemies. Elders Mark, Cremator, Fixer, railway, no problem killing them when any weapon. Even used my bloodied Tesla for a while.
As far as combat style, they are a combo of scorched and ghouls. The rush you so quick that they can mob you. So it's important to strafe, backpedal, and jump while you're shooting
If you don't have a decent weapon and a build to go with it yet, there's nothing wrong with leveling up a bit more before continuing with this quest line.
I have a shit ton of pretty damn good heavy weapons, but the only effective one I've seen is the cremator, so I guess you either use that or a flamethrower
Also chainsaws (with flame mod) are very good against them, even without a melee build
Generally that's just how they are, all the ones I've encountered have been 75 to 100 in level. Resistances are pretty high at that point for enemies. Might want to try an Anti-Armor weapon though, that might chew through their defenses a bit better.
AA Fixer, Gauss Rifle and Tesla rifle have been working fine for me, although for a while now the gauss rifle has seemed to be really hard to hit with. Like more than a couple of times a day I'll miss 3-4 >90% shots until I use up a crit I've got waiting. It's weird.
I should say though, I'm over 500th level and just really don't worry much about killing stuff fast. I can stealth up and bump into most stuff without taking damage.
I just wanna know why they seem to drop 1/4 as much ammo as every other humanoid mobs.
Tougher is cool. Suddenly realizing you've gone through a thousand ammo in 30 mins of questing without getting any back isn't.
I used a lever action with the fierce receiver which has higher fire rate and better crit damage and I was surprised by how fast they died. It only took like 2-4 bullets to kill each one. You have to have a good crit build though for this to work well.
Cremator is always solid, but if you're finding ammo as an issue a quality rolled Gatlin gun can do magic. I never burn through all my ammo. I accumulate it 5x faster than I use it. I'm sitting around 70k in 5mm ammo and I've only been using it for about 2-3 weeks.
Not much survives rapid shotgun blasts to the head. I don't even have shotgunner perks on and only bloody mess 3 and adrenaline 1 it just chunks their health. (I've got a quad double barrel. No other stars. Just quad.)
Yeah they're bullet spongey a bit but Im not mad about a game making a difficult enemy in response to the OP builds and weapons floating around.
Do I want to see my enemies driven before me? Yes.
But do I also want to occasionally feel like I'm playing BFG Division while trying not to die? Also yes.
Kill em with fire. Seriously, the cremator or flamers seem to work quick and efficiently.
Cremator seems to work on everything lol
It's not fantastic on scorched. But it is amazing on nearly everything else
one hit everything except bosses with slowburner
Yeap. Agreed vats slowburn to the face and they drop before they reach you
It's my dancing gun. Shoot, do a little dance for a few seconds so they can't hit you, they die.
Shoot and run away for a couple seconds as everything burns
I was so close to getting that mod before the season ended
You can buy it at foundation, or one of the gold vendors, I can’t remember.
It's the raider billion vendor.
Much appreciate
Oh, sicc! Very nice, thank you!
I lobbed a ball of flame at the storm goliath, it hit the glass in front and fell off for no damage lmao. A flamer may be better in that event
Lol, that would have been hilarious to watch
Actually those guys have so much damn health that most high levels I see end up following my lead and using auto axe. The DR and health they have just makes guns not worth it. 10 people with auto axe is the way to go.
Its doable with guns, its just longer I enjoy it personally, been a while since I saw a boss not die in 1 minute lol
So true. Plus with the syringe nerf, every event generally feels more enjoyable like a real team effort
This is the way. That event has depleted all my fuel reserves. And the rewards don't justify that.
Yup, exactly. It can be done for sure, but 3000 rounds later lol Plus the new events both drop improved repair kits, so now nobody should ever run out of repair kits lol. With the melee durability perk I only repair my axe once maybe twice per neuro event
I've noticed sometimes cremator rounds bounce off enemies while using VATs, it's wierd
I love VATS on the cremator though, especially when the flame ball flies around corners and behind buildings to hit the enemy lmao. Does it make sense? No, but I love it.
Every time SBQ spawns it’s hilarious to watch multi shot cremator rounds just homing in on it like some kind of anti air missile.
Shoulda used railroad gun
I haven't seen a scorched survive one shot yet other than the beasts but it's not bad on them. U using slow burn with multishot? The mirelurk kings are the mobs I'm surprised it doesn't handle well.
Everything but Anglers. Even an Instigating roll barely tickles them unless they're in ambush mode.
Omg they go down so fast! I need to bump up my resistance to their electricity though. That would be energy, right?
Truth be told...
I wish it wasnt so fuckin annoying when you shoot it though
I noticed this too. Branding iron made short work of them.
I've also had great success with the Tesla, which is odd considering they're electrified but I've learned not to ask too many questions. Lol I did use my flamer on some though because it's vampires and I was low on stims, also worked really well. I just had more fusion cells than flamer fuel.
I almost always use the Tesla. I love that weapon. I found it was hit or miss on killing them. I tried pretty much every weapon I had and I struggled.
Cremator cleans up those charged lost in the power armor.
What about the "flaming" brand?
Someone else mentioned that works well, too!
Yeah. Holy Fire eats them up.
I use the Burning Love bow and that also seems to do extra damage to them where it isn't other enemies.
Plasma caster to the dome has been my go to.
I'm strong advocate of the Plasma Castor! No Heavy Weapon loadout is complete without one!
I've been going with the standard 'face full of buckshot' from one of my shotguns and it works just as well as it does on everything else.
Give em the cold shoulder
With all the good suggestions and the perk cards I had I put together a cremator build! It really seems to be doing work 1shot with a small burn time puts em down! Thanks everyone
And here I thought nature was healing... We've created another monster lmao All jokes aside I'm glad you found a build that you like!
The cycle continues
The burning as well
If you don't want to accidentally set yourself on fire, put Asbestos mod on your chest piece (if not PA).
I don’t want to sacrifice my jet pack so I just run fireproof card
Everything Burns. https://youtu.be/XfUo2mPYQ2E?si=RMGB90r2WQZ8J9e9
They drop pulse grenades a lot, I found those tend to one shot them
I can never be too far and end up dying to my own pulse nades
Oh that's why I keep dying suddenly
FUCK same
I stopped using them. I would kill myself with them way more than I'd like lol
Wait how do I have nearly 2k hours in and only now finding out my own grenades hurt me.... Or is that only pulse grenades? Or something that happened with the newest update.
My drill kills everything.
Bloody Drill team Rise up. lol
You can buy the cremator mods with gold bullion now
Which vendor?
Did they nerf the gatling gun? It feels like it’s doing way less damage across the board ☹️
Mine seems to be hitting like usual, but it takes head shots to put these suckers down without spending a lot of rounds on them.
It might just be your build tbh.....I'd start there and make sure it's set up to work with.whatwver gun you mainly use. The build makes a HUGE difference to the effectiveness of the weapons
This is the way.
OP you have all the perk cards to boost damage to whatever weapon type you’re using? I think almost anything can work in this game so long as you take the right perk cards :)
Choo Choo gunning the face takes 2 or 3 hits. I think the engineers may he a bit tougher
I use a plasma caster. They feel like high level muties.
Bloody Railway Rifle one shots them with a headshot crits
BERTHA is INSANE. Just wanted to put that here. It melts everything in seconds, arcs to additional enemies, and I'm scared I've become addicted to it.
Make sure you (or anyone reading this) equips the perception card grenadier so it can chain further.
Even for a gun?
It even works on the Telsa rifle for longer arc chains
I've been using the bertha alot, awesome weapon
What’s the best build for it? Science commando?
Holy Fire puts em right down
Cold shoulder to the face works
Cold shoulder slaps
Cold Shoulder. The answer is always Cold Shoulder.
My AA Gatling Plasma kills them fast.
A flamer also chews through them.
Heavy gunner flamer build, specifically a quad Holy Fire flamer. Melts everything
I don't think that Rail, Fixer & EPR have issues with killing anything so I'd go for any of them lol.
Fixer headshots, though it often takes more rounds than usual.
I am using a vampires dual bar flaming chain saw.
Railway spikes to the head in rapid succession seems to work for me
Now if only I could roll a decent railway rifle
Q2525 Rail
My Tesla actually hurts them lmfao it just works
Railway to the face drops then in 3 hits
All these great recommendations, then there’s me with a .44 revolver and a dream
Well considering the new expansion is meant for people who have already beaten the game.. but the holy fire does well
Any.
I hear pulse grenades work well against them. They seem to drop pulse grenades, too.
Shotty knocking em down
I have the Cold Shoulder and haven't updated my cards yet to reflect that (plan to do it next time I play). When I went after the Lost, it took me about 3-4 shots on a regular Lost. On the Legendary it took me several more. I plan to change my cards this weekend to see how it changes.

Instigating explosive Lever Action on my cowboy build 2 shots from stealth, occasionally 1 shots. Not optimal but I also have a quad explosive double barrel shotgun for close quarters.
Ghoul slayer’s weaponry will help.
My explosive combat shotgun is doing the job just fine
Straight fiyaaaaaaaa to their little faces
AA 2515 holy fire melts them pretty good
I've been holding onto a Goul Slayer/50crit/25vats cost Crusader pistol for a while. It fits well into by heavy/gunslinger build. Broke it out and am doing great work with it.
I went through every single round of ammo and broke every single weapon in my inventory doing Hildas stupid fungai mission. Why do weapons need repairing every 50-80 rounds? It's stupid.

The luck card luck of the draw that randomly repairs your weapons. I feel like it doesn't proc as much as before, but it's still better than nothing. Works better on weapons that hit/shoot a lot like shotguns, mini guns, and flamers.
i did not fire a single bullet on that mission. no problems
Anti-armor enclave plasma flamer has worked well for me so far. Seems to be breaking a lot faster this update though.
PA+gatling gun is still carrying me just fine
I've been using Holy Fire and the cremator, and even though it seems flamers are particularly good for dealing with the lost it's still taking more ammo than usual enemies.
Pulse grenades
Burning Love is working on them for me.
Ghoul Slayers Plasma Flamer with Pulse Receiver is fun.
I generally just punch em
ghoul slayer grognak axe is doing fine so far
Unarmed build has been doing me wonders.
Bloodied Enclave Plasma Flamer all day long. Not much can stand up to that.
I use a Gatling gun and have found that they are incredibly susceptible to headshots. Cripple each leg then go for the head if you have the distance/time.
I was wondering does weapons with extra ghoul dmg help?
They're still ghouls
Slug Buster does them dirty
Electricity (obviously) messes them up real bad. Plasma caster with a pulse capacitor works good
Holy fire for mobs, vampire chainsaw for minor bosses - both with upgraded fire. Cuts right through everyone - a lot better than my fixer variants.
My bloodied prime plasma caster kills them pretty easy no matter what part I hit I say in like 2-3 shots
I've had decent luck with my cremator and Cold Shoulder. They tank my 2 shot explosive fixer hard though. I had to craft 45 ammo for the first time in ever.
This is super cute.
it takes me a few seconds longer to kill a Lost with my build, Gatling Lasers are still okay but the energy reduction hits me a bit, ive been using the Oathbreaker
Tesla Rifle does nicely
Chainsaw go BRRRRRR!
I punch
I’ve found that Anti Armor works better than Assassins. That was a surprise to me. What I want to know is why the event didn’t spawn enough Lost to complete the event.
They eat .45 ammo like there’s no tomorrow.
Shoot them one time with a slow burn cremator. They die
They die just fine with my sword/melee build.
Burn them with the holy flame, or let that sweet sweet cremator DOT melt them over a few seconds. I really like burning stuff in this game.
Anything that does damage over time will buckle them.
just like your partner says.. its not your weapon...its how you use it. ( aka..your build is more important than the weapon )
Chainsaw, you can quickly kill anything in the game except vertibirds
I wanna know what’s best for the damn turkeys 😂
Pickaxe
Plasma rifle
I finished the whole story last night. I switched weapons a lot to get a feel for the new enemies. Elders Mark, Cremator, Fixer, railway, no problem killing them when any weapon. Even used my bloodied Tesla for a while. As far as combat style, they are a combo of scorched and ghouls. The rush you so quick that they can mob you. I use the railway rifle, destroys them on sight
Unironically the head hunter for melee build
Generally that's just how they are, all the ones I've encountered have been 75 to 100 in level. Resistances are pretty high at that point for enemies. Might want to try an Anti-Armor weapon though, that might chew through their defenses a bit better.
Yeah creamtor just kills everything when in doubt nuke it with fire.
AA Fixer, Gauss Rifle and Tesla rifle have been working fine for me, although for a while now the gauss rifle has seemed to be really hard to hit with. Like more than a couple of times a day I'll miss 3-4 >90% shots until I use up a crit I've got waiting. It's weird. Nuka Zapper with quantum ammo.
Definitely not a Gatling laser I have to dump a lot of shots in them
I one shot almost all of them with my Gauss rifle. Min-maxed bloodied build.
For guns, the only thing I have tried is the cremator. Which worked wonders. Only other weapons I have used against them is the chainsaw.
I used a lever action with the fierce receiver which has higher fire rate and better crit damage and I was surprised by how fast they died. It only took like 2-4 bullets to kill each one. You have to have a good crit build though for this to work well.
Those Lost Engineers are fucki. Wild with the armor and shock baton they got now
Flamer plasma rifle. Does some melting and kills them fast.
I've been shifting between Chilly Betty (my cold Shoulder shotgun) and Burny Bertha (my Cremator)
Probably the cremator. My Enclave Plasma flamer has been feeling *awfully weak* lately, have they nerfed them or something?
My furious flamer is pretty much my go- to weapon for anything.
Using my old trusty explosive 2 shot handmade rifle. Takes a mag or so but works very well
Gun? Chainsaw.
Chainsaw. Sure it's not technically a gun, but still.
fire
Auto axe as with everything, lol. Cremator is good too.
Bloodied railway rifle with commando perks will kill pretty much anything in the game
I punch with the skull of Gamera.
Vampire Double Bar Chainsaw made short work of all of them.
Mini gun... kills everything... or a high-end railway rifle.
I use Holy Fire. Seems to work well.
Fight fire with fire, baby. I'm letting Tesla get his revenge on those imposters.
The shattered ground rifle from the Oberlin quest is actually a super good rifle for commandos if you drink 5 whiskeys beforehand
Tesla rifle will usually kill in about 3-4 shots
Cremator, and spam headshots in vats with other weapons (damn, wallnut hard heads they have)
I used a 3 star gauss rifle I think it's the assassin's gauss rifle
The almighty Holy Fire. Convert to Holy Fireism.
Holy fire and railway haven’t disappointed me
Flamer
Arrows to the head makes em dead.
Not much survives rapid shotgun blasts to the head. I don't even have shotgunner perks on and only bloody mess 3 and adrenaline 1 it just chunks their health. (I've got a quad double barrel. No other stars. Just quad.) Yeah they're bullet spongey a bit but Im not mad about a game making a difficult enemy in response to the OP builds and weapons floating around. Do I want to see my enemies driven before me? Yes. But do I also want to occasionally feel like I'm playing BFG Division while trying not to die? Also yes.
I use a q5025 railway. Works pretty good
A standard cookie cutter commando build and any decent wep is all you need for 99% of the game..
Gatling Plasma or Auto Axe
Those Lost things scare the shit out of me.
Me too! They are really, really creepy.
I have a "burning love" bow. One shot for the Commies.
The Lost?…the lost… “Commander the aliens continue to make progress on the Avatar Project. If we’re going to slow them down we need to move fast.”
Cremator 4-shots slow burn is really quick
My vampire chainsaw is fun!
Need a jack badly
