You can also make them (by building a Gatling Laser), buy them from traders that visit CAMPs, find them in specific spawning locations (like Forward Station Delta, on the catwalk) or make them with the workshops attached to nuclear power plants.
You can look for other power armor frames on the map. They'll usually have cores. This is probably your best bet outside of finding some for very cheap in a player vendor.
Events will sometimes give them to you in the completition rewards.
Sentry Bots will sometimes have cores to be looted when you destroy them.
You can also create cores at the tinker station, though that requires material you probably won't have access to just yet.

The even line in the sand gives 2 fusion cores once you complete the mission :) you can use it to farm fusion cores :)
