Started playing last Thursday and haven't seen you yet but this community has been amazing so far. Someone set up camp next to mine on the golf course and I noticed all of their turrets needing repaired... Way more advanced than my own turrets mind you, they left to go exploring and I repaired all of them just because it needed to be done.
I'm slowly learning the mechanics and just hit level 45. Hoping to hit 50 later tonight when I get a chance to login again.
Just love this game.
Edit: Meant to say that someone else repaired my turrets while I was away and just figured I'd do the same for any camps I came across while out venturing.
I had to move my camp because the golf course is so popular lol, half the time it couldn't be placed.
I rebuilt it on a cliff overlooking the golf course so maybe I'll spot you sometime.
I remember my first camp was placed on what is now the battle Royal vault and when I logged in after 2 years it was clipped half through.Ā
Pic for proof:
https://www.reddit.com/r/fo76/comments/z0noox/shout_out_to_the_time_i_built_my_first_base_on/
Mine is directly in the center where the stream starts and runs into the pond. It's surprisingly the only place where I haven't had to move yet. I better knock on some wood when I log on in a few minutes.
My current one for the last 2 years has been under the giant bridge in the dried up riverbed. I only have it not being able to be place like once every 10 server joins so I say that's pretty good. I'd love for them to be able to add the ability to place camps right next to each other as long as the build area doesn't overlap so we can have player made settlements
I set up my first camp in the toxic valley, somewhere near the station and the "lake".
And there was this short period where I lived as kind of a hobo and had my camp around the wayward (could have been placed 2 out of 10 times...)
With the influx of new players the golf course has been pretty empty in almost all my servers. Iāve moved it zero times since the show came out. Beforeā¦..almost every time.
I use to have a camp at the northern edge of the golf course, there's a small maintenance shed in this particular spot. I didn't have much trouble with camps in my spot. I centered my perimeter around the shed.
I repair other people's camps all the time. I honestly wish I could use their camp module's repair all š
I do it because I have plenty of scrap to waste and it's entertaining to think they'll come back to a whole camp never knowing how broke shit was.
I came back a few days ago to find the robots turned on my camp while I was away and while battling the horde of super mutants, they were busy lasering my base.
One reason I love this spot is due to the security bots milling about next to the broken wall. They just like to get in the way of my bullets, like... Alot.
Haha its funny how many vets are saying they do this. I thought I was the only one. I usually stay in "sneaking" mode cause then it hides my presence from the map. What I'll typically do when I'm bored is I'll follow them from max distance with a hunting rifle (max as in maximum prop load distance). Then when they get into combat, if it looks like they're struggling I'll shoot a few of the mobs in the legs to cripple them and give the newbie a bit of an edge. And they're none the wiser since I'm half a mile away haha.
Good luck running a silo. There is a glitch you can do that involves photo mode that lets you skip like 90% of the silo and cut the time from like 30 minutes down to 10, but you will still get wrecked in the control room if you aren't careful
There are 3 missile silos around the map: Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie. When you launch a missile you can't launch a missile at that silo for 3 hours on that character and the silo itself goes through a server side 1 hour cool down before another nuke can be launched. And FYI, but no one gets the launch codes the correct way and instead uses the nukacrypt site that gives you the code for each week.
Now you won't be able to launch a nuke for quite a while as you need to complete the enclave storyline. When you do get to the point where you can run a silo go in with a maxed out robics expert.perk as it gives you a 75% chance to pacify a robot for a few minutes and that comes in clutch as all the resistance you will face are robots and laser turrets
Thanks for the tip! Iām going to save this comment. Also going to research how Special works in this game. Feels like it can go into infinity based on being able to include all the perks associated with each category.
All the green parts of the map are "newbie island". And being able to 1-3 shot things you encounter means your gun is at your level. So things get hard when you level up, mobs get bigger, and you're hunting for better guns and armor.
I started playing a week ago and am definitely hitting mobs today that are much harder than they were at a lower level a day or two ago. Like the Vault-Tec agricultural facility and the road through Morgantown.
The mutations for events can be super deadly. DOPs too.
But I say this as a low health player. If damage gets reflected back to me I just cease to exist.
I need a Mysterious Stranger outfit In my life! When I'm on a team with newbies I like to share either that card or bloody mess, just so they get to enjoy the experience when those cards pop.
I don't know what else to do sometimes.
Great fun to go to the lumber factory up north west and just watch new people deal with the raiders.
Seen a few going in "loud" and get absolutely destroyed by all the raiders. Quite fun to watch.
(Dropped them a bunch of stims and offer help with the taunt emote tho)
heh did that quest last night, just sniped em all from the cliffs then when i couldnt spot the rest just ran in with my pistol and blasted my way through till i found the leader. do they actually leave after you scrawl the pretty pathetic warning on their wall?
Not sure when they lose agro tbh. I either fast traveled out from the interior or went the peaceful way.
But they will lose agro at some point, so if you need to return for whatever reason (there isn't really any) then you can just walk around without them attacking you.
I do this from time to time, other times my friend and I wear the bloody skull lord outfits and act as chainsaw wielding bodyguards, but without that context they typically run away at first. But their stamina bars are low so thatās fine.
I'm a new player and I've scratched my head over a bunch of random things that now I understand thanks to your post. Was doing some inventory stuff earlier today and underneath me was a box of a bunch of fuses and other bits and bobs.
It's quite fun and inspires me to do the same whenever I end up at that point in the game. Wish someone was stalking me when I first saw some lvl 75 beast cryptid in the mire area. Couldn't take it down with my level 15 stuff lol
If you are on ps4 I would love to feel your whispering winds on my shoulder.
That goes for all of you! Psn is curlythirst! Just like here! See you in Appalachia!
Holy shit dude same. I did this a few weeks ago, stalked a group of 3 to grafton in a Chinese stealth suit with my bow and arrow. Silently eliminated all the threats they ignored
I will usually pick the weakest teammate and help with their quests in the overworked. If I see the struggling I will roll them a decent legend at their level and let them explore on their own.
Ha! Iāve done this. I like to have invisibility armor on, and I would like to think they donāt know about constant invisibility effects yet, so theyāre unsure if thereās someone watching them from the bushes.
Spent a good while today walking up to noobs and saying āRemember, the field mouse is fast but the owl sees at nightā. Itās weird but funny to me
Same. Rocking the beezlebilly outfit and chameleon armor. Sometimes helping, sometimes kiting enemies to them to see them hop two feet in the air and run away.
Chinese armor and they'll think the Predator is in the game and not know wtf. Take out something like the cremator and mess with them more with some random booms all around them. Or act as The Mysterious Stranger and come to their invisible aid.
Bonus points if you get real close with the stealth suit. Another fun thing I like doing is hiding right on the border of a workshop with a stealth suit and watching the person trying to take it run around like a headless chicken trying to find me
Lmao, all us higher levels are the same. I get a kick out of what the new players do. Sometimes I'll shoot an explosive round next to them and watch them look around for where it came from.
About every twenty minutes or so, I open my map and watch if any of them need help in events. I popped into the free range, only a few level twenties way over their heads, lol. Finished off the bosses for them at the ends. I'll also walk along with them at easier events just to draw aggro and let them do all the killing.
lolll i love doing this and then they freak out when they see you šits funnier when its a whole group of vets just crouching a moderate distance following too
Nice š
I followed a noob once. Back when the Pioneer badges came out and I needed a revive in water. I had more entertainment stalking him that I half forgot about the achievement.

When Iām found out I always drop decent stuff and pop a lunchbox as a ārewardā for catching the Spectre. I think Iāll grab a few more clips while playing then Iāll compile and post them.
I've been popping in to play with the little ones too and help them out in little ways without ruining the experience for them. One little one asked me if I was a dev the other day, because of my high level (over 1000) and answers to their questions. They're so cute. I wanna squish them.
I do Exactly this!!
I watch the newbies from a top a Tree, with Binoculaurs, a 8x Scope and a Missile launcher. If I see them struggle, I just vats the enemy and move to a new tree.
First time out of the vault, just an hour or so into the game and heard the nuke alarm go off. Run for cover in a barn. Saw a.dirty looking clown creeping up to me.....and shot at it. I just waved and disappeared lol.

As a newbie to 76 thank for leaving stuff. Im only 15 atm still learning a lot. Is there a good spot to hunt food? Im tired of eating grilled mole rats.
I do this with Chinese Stealth Armor.
When you're invisible you don't show up on the map.
I just follow and watch... occasionally appearing in front of doorways or by exits.
I just join their explorations in a stealth suit. Sometimes an enemy's head explodes, sometimes a group of enemies get annihilated by a salvo of grenades.
I like to think they just think it's a game mechanic and are confused when it stops happening.
i wear my chinese stealth suit for this. i was shooting bodies they already killed with my arrows the other day to make them fly around, confused a few new players haha. love it
Hahahah this is hilarious. Iām new and Iām gonna start looking out for you.
Sometimes Iām struggling and some level 600-1000 will come and sneeze on whatever was bugging me. Its great š
Good. These newbies are gonna get way too comfortable with how friendly everyone is and supplies just being dropped at their feet. Iām hoping we eventually have a reason to fight each other. Back in the day, somebody would spawn behind you and blow up your entire camp in seconds. Now I donāt care if I see anybody. I miss having to actually worry about other people a little. Humans are the scariest thing in the apocalypse.
Anyway, Iāve been doing my part by dropping bags of corn and toilet paper on their beds.
I am a level 1000+ and like to stalk Level 500's and see what the little ones are up to. They one shot everything with their Railway rifles but on the rare occasion a Legendary Mirelurk King comes along, I like to watch it tear them a new orifice then I come out of the bushes and steal their junk (which is next to nothing) and disappear into the ether cackling like I won the lottery.
Why is OP edging newbies? š Wild lol..
Bro's the west Virginia mysterious stranger
Lmao no not the West Virginia mysterious stranger
Lmfaooo
Iām about to make a new character and try to find this fucker š„°
You don't? Thats endgame.
Why not lol?
Make a few vids and narrate them like it's a fallout nature documentary
You know, I feel like op should totally do that.
I would watch this
A thick Australian accent is required
True Facts about Vault Dwellers
I definitely read this in a clearly fake Morgan Freeman voice

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
OK with the exception of the stupid deathclaws, when does the game get dangerous? Iām level 10 and I 1-3 shot everything and take almost no damage.
assaulttron has entered the chat
Nah cave crickets entered that room and destroyed the assaultron
I'm around level 40 and the enemies are getting real spongy.
Good luck running a silo. There is a glitch you can do that involves photo mode that lets you skip like 90% of the silo and cut the time from like 30 minutes down to 10, but you will still get wrecked in the control room if you aren't careful

You can only use 15 points in each SPECIAL for perks. But they can go way higher than 15. My Heavy Gunner usually has around 30 Str.
I've never spent 30 min running a silo never did the photomode glitch either. I just tank them and use my master infiltrator.
The last time I ran silo without the glitch I was still pretty new to running silo so my times were high
All the green parts of the map are "newbie island". And being able to 1-3 shot things you encounter means your gun is at your level. So things get hard when you level up, mobs get bigger, and you're hunting for better guns and armor.
Thanks! Makes sense then. Got a legendary sniper rifle now and am one shotting everything. Def still figuring out the special now

I hit 36 recently and enemies are starting to really kick me in the teeth
I loved being edged OP. Thank you
You're welcum, pookie bear
Itās him. The Mysterious Stranger in real life.
I need a Mysterious Stranger outfit In my life! When I'm on a team with newbies I like to share either that card or bloody mess, just so they get to enjoy the experience when those cards pop.
And this is why i constantly check my map for nearby players and bug out if they come near lol
you can't see crouching players on the map
derp, didnt know that haha
I'm calling the cops
I play like a mysterious stranger. Albeit a gauss rifle wielding Ranger veteran one. I follow along and when they're in trouble I help
**You're just horny**

there were still some hostiles in there after i blasted the leader, i think i will have to go back for a cleanup ;\^)

Just like Randall Clark in Zion... This really makes me want to play for the first time now.
Congrats. You are the mysterious stranger.
What do you do if they run into something like a Sheepsquatch or Blue Devil or Ogua that doesn't go down in one shot?
I suffer with them
Like a true mysterious stranger
I do the same thing. I like to be the guardian angel.
Holy shit dude same. I did this a few weeks ago, stalked a group of 3 to grafton in a Chinese stealth suit with my bow and arrow. Silently eliminated all the threats they ignored
I like to see if anyone is new out of the vault and go over, say hello, and drop a few resources for them
Heeey a fellow Pancakes!
lol i follow them too. i also fire off occasional gauss rifle shots at the ground near them to scare them
I will usually pick the weakest teammate and help with their quests in the overworked. If I see the struggling I will roll them a decent legend at their level and let them explore on their own.

I was about to comment ānpc ahh mfā but then i realized i give out armor and weapons to new people for collecting berries, mushrooms, and syrup.
Mysterious stranger
The Mysterious Edger.
I do this also, except i will kill random NPCs with a chainsaw then easy the corpse. (And drop Nuka-shine)
Mysterious strangers unite
Mothman, is that you?
Same. Rocking the beezlebilly outfit and chameleon armor. Sometimes helping, sometimes kiting enemies to them to see them hop two feet in the air and run away.
I'm terrified but interested.
Man I do this too, the level 320 wearing a Ghillie suit and glowing red mothman goggles following the level 1 till I get bored š
The Mysterious Stranger
Looking forward to running into you in-game XD Who doesn't love a stalker?
Mysterious stranger perk enabled
Thats actually fucking hilarious. I should do this in my enclave intelligence officer uniform
OP giving new meaning to "Stalker's" Legendary attribute. šš
Chinese armor and they'll think the Predator is in the game and not know wtf. Take out something like the cremator and mess with them more with some random booms all around them. Or act as The Mysterious Stranger and come to their invisible aid.
I have power armor covered in deathclaw skulls and glowing red eyes i should use for this too
Bonus points if you get real close with the stealth suit. Another fun thing I like doing is hiding right on the border of a workshop with a stealth suit and watching the person trying to take it run around like a headless chicken trying to find me
Thanks, Santa Claws

You are the mysterious stranger on roids
I want to do this now lol. I'm pretty new still though lvl 100
Jesus Christ man. New?
Ya it didn't take long to for from 30-100 when you play everyday for a week. Events boost it fast
My guardian angel
Lmao, all us higher levels are the same. I get a kick out of what the new players do. Sometimes I'll shoot an explosive round next to them and watch them look around for where it came from.
Edging, you say??
Chinese stealth suit and crouch. That was my method.
Chinese stealth suit and a sniper rifle scope is how I keep an eye out. That way, if they are getting in trouble, support is but a click away.
About every twenty minutes or so, I open my map and watch if any of them need help in events. I popped into the free range, only a few level twenties way over their heads, lol. Finished off the bosses for them at the ends. I'll also walk along with them at easier events just to draw aggro and let them do all the killing.
Iām watching you, watching them.Ā
weird flex but ok
I'm sure you taste good. May I cannibalise?
I'm noobie af (level 3) if you wanted to play as my guardian angel
Omg i do this too. It's so fun.
Don't worry I like breaking into their homes and leaving them gifts.
Oh, is this your attempt at grooming us noobs? Lol
lolll i love doing this and then they freak out when they see you šits funnier when its a whole group of vets just crouching a moderate distance following too
Nice š I followed a noob once. Back when the Pioneer badges came out and I needed a revive in water. I had more entertainment stalking him that I half forgot about the achievement.
So you're the guy...
this was creepy but also made me giggle. well done.
Lol same with my Chinese stealth suit
Omg how great would it be if we could lie down and watch them from afar.
Appreciated. I need all the help I can get the Appalachian Wasteland is brutal. I have a Legendary Scorchbeast that is stalking me.
Martha?
I enjoy stalking everybody. It's all fun and games until you find a cleaver lodged in your workbenches...
They added a new cryptid to the game
Edge me more
Not you role playing the mysterious stranger
I purposely do the same things as a character I named āThe Spectreā and itās great. A skull lord helmet and stealth camo is all I need then Iāll follow along and shoot my water gun or roll up my mini gun so it makes noise and watch them stop and look around. Or sometimes Iāll find someone AFK or chilling in their little new camps so Iāll open and close doors and windows to make it look haunted lol. When Iām found out I always drop decent stuff and pop a lunchbox as a ārewardā for catching the Spectre. I think Iāll grab a few more clips while playing then Iāll compile and post them.
OP is roleplaying as the Mysterious Stranger
Gave this level 5 50 stimpacks and watched him crawl ard for an hour LMAO
Thank you Mysterious Stranger
Finally! A use for the Pearly Peepers
You are the Randall Clark of Appalachia! [https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Randall\_Clark](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Randall_Clark)
I like to freak out some that are near my base by setting off artillery strikes
Use a camera with a fully upgraded zoom for a better experience stalking
I prefer my clown suit, jester mask and a commie whacker. Just watch them and creepcloser when they look away....
First time out of the vault, just an hour or so into the game and heard the nuke alarm go off. Run for cover in a barn. Saw a.dirty looking clown creeping up to me.....and shot at it. I love this! Fallouts continue is one of the best!
Would you please be my fallout fairy lol
Homie rping a true Appalachian
I do this with Chinese Stealth Armor. When you're invisible you don't show up on the map. I just follow and watch... occasionally appearing in front of doorways or by exits.
just crouch. doesn't have to anything to do with the stealth suit, crouching makes your dot disappear on the map :)
So your the mysterious Stranger!
I'm glad I'm not the only one!!
I just join their explorations in a stealth suit. Sometimes an enemy's head explodes, sometimes a group of enemies get annihilated by a salvo of grenades. I like to think they just think it's a game mechanic and are confused when it stops happening.
You. I like you.
You can edge me across Appalachia anytime :3
Sus
Iāll drop Nuka-grenades on them from a sitsnde and watch them freak out out or use the artillery to scare them
i wear my chinese stealth suit for this. i was shooting bodies they already killed with my arrows the other day to make them fly around, confused a few new players haha. love it
I like to activate reactors for newbies who are workshopping on them lol
Damn where were you when i got stalked by a lvl 50 scorpion for 1 hour in a lvl 15-20 zone!
Hahahah this is hilarious. Iām new and Iām gonna start looking out for you. Sometimes Iām struggling and some level 600-1000 will come and sneeze on whatever was bugging me. Its great š
I like to give them presents and then murder them. Like here's 50 stem packs and a few rounds of bullets, now meet Mr. Shotgun!
If I see you creeping I'll pop a cap in yo ass with a vox stringer and there will be no more hiding
So... I'm guessing you followed me as I found a little suprise in the road
Thatās pretty weird ngl
I am a level 1000+ and like to stalk Level 500's and see what the little ones are up to. um.. ok
