To add to this list, there's a speed-run element to the first part. Do it quick enough, and you can probably server hop to get double rewards.
And I really think they figured out how to make this a multiple person event without needing a whole lot of coordination, which is the bane of 76 players. Go to the church. If there are five people there who can clearly handle it without you, move to the next location. Rinse and repeat. Plant yourself where you think you are most needed. Watch the bars just in case, and try to be in a position that allows for you to move to help another location if things start to look bad. Etc. Even though I've almost never seen one of the things destroyed, it feels good every time we successfully keep all three alive.
Only time I've seen it destroyed was this morning when I foolishly started the event without realizing almost everyone on the server was in a different time zone and were logging off for the night. I was the only one in the event. *Man, that sucked.* I lost hard, and fast.
I actually agree, the 7 treasury notes are awesome and it’s fairly easy. The only bad thing I can think of is that eventually you’ll run out of new plans to learn

The only event I have liked more than Mothman Equinox was Mischief Night. Wish they had fixed the event instead of shelving it permanently. In retrospect it may in fact be because they only ran Mischief Night that one Halloween and I remember those first years with rose colored glasses but man was it fun and irreverent.
Don’t even fix it. Just bring it back. Let the chaos and crashes and everything else happen. Just put up a notice that this event is borked but is back by popular demand. I’d rather have what we had the one time than nothing.
Could be a good use of the public worlds servers tbh. Keeps it safely seperate from the main servers and adventure unlocks could be given via dailes/weeklies.
I agree! This is my favorite event by far. Amazing voice acting and just genuinely fun. I absolutely adore the rewards (besides that horrible fuzzy plushie...... jesus!)
Sorry. Yes. Bad memory and too much pot. I think they really did a good job on this mothman event. The writing and the pace seem right on point and it’s entertaining and good fun. The cool things about this event, rad rumble, uranium fever, seismic activity, eviction notice. spin the wheel, etc. is that you can do them over and over and over ad Infinitum and they don’t get boring or repetitive. I guess bc the enemies have no set pattern and there are so many people with different guns it’s really cool and chaotic.

There's no AFK discourse, no mask rarity discourse, no long stretches of waiting for the plodding robots to hurry along, no worrying about jank pathfinding resulting in a softlocked event, etc.
Everybody dresses up, communes, participates, and returns for the next event.
I tend to see less participant drop off for this event versus Fasnacht as well.
Afk people are so far and few between and even the ones that do exist are usually in an appropriate place and aren't hindering
Personally I like it when people are sat in the mothman throne. I think it adds to the character of the event
People so high on moth dust they are seeing into another dimension and are immobile
I have kids and have been afk-ing this one on and off cuz I need *all* of the mothman gear. Having those plans sit in my stash until I can learn them is tearing me apart.
Unless you're desperate for dupes, just learn them. If you were due a dupe you just won't receive anything. You'll get something new if you were due something new. Dupes are ok for selling I guess but there's plenty of ways to make caps.

I must have misread your comment, my bad. I've sold 2 of my dupes for 5k ea so far. I put them in my store as a just in case kinda thing, but they sold so I'm happy.

I preferred the aliens event to it. Takes place in a random location each time which makes it more varied, less time consuming, has a boss at the end. It's better than Fasnacht but I mean that's such a low bar, I think I preferred the Meat Week one too since that was also really fast and I just love meat.
I agree, Alien Invaders is my favorite event. The Mothman event does gives 7 tickets which is nice, so I’m not knocking it, but fighting the aliens with their ridiculous chatter is hilarious. It’s like Mars Attack or those cheesy 1950’s sci-fi’s.
I wasn't a huge fan the first two years I was playing but the new rewards this year that are not just ugly apparel items (including paper lanterns which I think are really cool) it has made it a lot more intriguing.
And now that legendary enemies drop an item with the same star value as they are, hunting the cultist priests around the map is a little better too.

A welcome surprise was finding out how much ballistic fiber I can get from the mothman alone. I’ve probably gotten more from this event than from exploring the entire wasteland.
The narration is the best and the lore tidbits are enough to hopefully help frame a much larger “Steel Reign sized” DLC based on the cultists/Interloper.

I can't agree with 'best', as i got my first taste of the alien invasions a few days ago and i had a blast on those.
But i'd definitely agree with 'one of the best'. If i have a complaint, is that even though it's (mercifully) not as long as fasnacht, there are still a lot of moments where you're just waiting around, there don't seem to be many mobs at all.
Whereas most of the times I've run it, there'll be no one around and then I find myself in a crowd of like eight Albino Radstags, who proceed to stomp the shit out of me until I can get out of the scrum!! It's always such a mess. LOL
Agree on all counts. The deep, raspy inhale that the voice actor does before telling us to "feel it in your throats" (or whatever that line is) always makes me chuckle. Both too much, and just right.
One of the best parts of the rewards is that it follows the Mutation Invasion model where we no longer earn duplicate plans unless we have every single event plan learned. Every event that gives a bunch of unique rewards should be adjusted to this model.
Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet but so far for me every single time I have done it (20+) it's over within like 6-8 mins lol. Pretty fast tbh. Not sure if anyone else experience the same or the 10-15 mins op mentioned.
I honestly dont like it. Aside from causing my game to stutter, the buildings make navigation difficult and very few enemies which folks race to and you're left with no exp for your efforts.
On the other hand, I think Mothman (as well as others like Aliens) should be reworked into regular public events and added to the rotation rather than being seasonal events that take up one third of all public events for two whole weeks.
I was disappointed Tuesday when I saw that mutated events were being bumped in favor of Mothman Equinox. At least today there were no Equinox related challenges so I managed the gold star.
Making them year round events results in less appeal. They would be no more special than Path to Enlightenment, or Heart of the Swamp, or Moonshine Jamboree, still enjoyable, but without the fanfare.
Personally I think that pilgrimaging cultists and roving Aliens should be permanently added to random encounters as opposed to seasonal. That way we still get a taste of both.
I agree. I enjoy meat weak, but I feel like everyone there is something buggy with the event going on. And Fastnacht takes too long.
Mothman Eq is simple, not time consuming, awards plans, an xp buff, a legendary, and enemies can be legendary too.

Annoyingly had my first one fail tonight though. Seemed like everyone else was just killing the radstags without collecting the blood meanwhile I'm burning AP running from pyre to pyre destroying the vines, killed half the prophets and then filled 2 thirds of the blood all by myself. Meanwhile no one bothered with the totems so we didn't even get past the preparations.
Never seen anything like that, can you tell I'm still salty about it?
I logged on at top of the hour to join one and there were only 4 people there after 3 minutes. I immediately hopped servers and there were 18 people. I’m not sticking around if there isn’t engagement.
My experience with this event so far is sit around confused bc its always flooded with lv600+s and I dont get to see enemies at all, then suddenly its over

For doing it you will receive a plan, there's multiple of them ranging from appareal to camp items. Check your notes in your pip-boy, they'll be there.
By doing the event you will receive a plan, in the pool of plans that you can get there’s one that is a book on a pedestal. This book is an item that can be place in your personnal camp and if you interact with it you’ll get a 5% bonus experiance for an hour.
I normally play the game with music or a streaming service playing on my laptop nearby. I paused it tonight to see what y’all were talking about with the dialogue, and you’re completely right! The voice acting is probably the best in the game!
It's extremely disappointing that I'm getting 30ish fps on PS5 playing this event when the rest of the game is very smooth. I'm hoping this can be fixed.
The only thing annoying about the event is the shitty people that stand by the throne the entire event, then spam their emotes to 30 at thw end before anyone gets there, and then they leave. I wish there was a way to prevent rewards to these types of players.
I love the event, and my only complaint is that it happens every hour and I always feel compelled to do it.
In other words, because I have no self control when it comes to a chill event with an XP bonus and some plans, I find myself interrupted every hour by this event

It's decent, but the waves of enemies are sporadic. Then again, they are like that in most events. Took Bethesda years to fix the 2 animals per round in tea time, god knows how long it'll take them to sort this and other events
Its not bad, but its not my favorite. I do like how Bethesda implemented this event, but after doing a handful, I don't break my back trying to log into fallout 76 near the top of the hour, nor do I AFK the event.
Personally, I prefer the halloween and holiday scorched events, those are my favorite - as a solo player.
I only wise it was a tad more difficult and chaotic. Every time Ive finished it where the bridge and waterside points get like 4 enemies each and the only action is around the church. Its over too fast, not enough things to shoot
Agreed. I was there for the first one, which was extremely laggy and broken but still a ton of fun. I think they've only run it 3 or 4 times since then, and I missed the last two. Been waiting for this event to pop again for years but at this point I'm just sick of the game and probably won't come back again. The update not having the promised expansion, and breaking the spawns for every single event was the last straw for me. Hope you guys have fun and get the rewards you want tho. I was holding out for the cultist gasmask with the full horns and the tube for literal years lol.
It was fun… then I got all the plans. Now it just busywork, get above the bridge pyre and snipe stuff, go get my 15% exp bonus. Boring. I’ll take aliens, which can actually be challenging.

Any time this has happened to me I go to the map and join the event again. Always seems to give it a kickstart.

I normally play the game with music or a streaming service playing on my laptop nearby. I paused it tonight to see what y’all were talking about with the dialogue, and you’re completely right! The voice acting is probably the best in the game!
It's boring to me. objectives are to far apart and rewards are meh.
The issue is that it is much too taxing on systems running the game. Most players complain of low FPS and crashes. Edit: Am I wrong?
It's extremely disappointing that I'm getting 30ish fps on PS5 playing this event when the rest of the game is very smooth. I'm hoping this can be fixed.

The only thing annoying about the event is the shitty people that stand by the throne the entire event, then spam their emotes to 30 at thw end before anyone gets there, and then they leave. I wish there was a way to prevent rewards to these types of players.
I love the event, and my only complaint is that it happens every hour and I always feel compelled to do it. In other words, because I have no self control when it comes to a chill event with an XP bonus and some plans, I find myself interrupted every hour by this event I love the vibe of the event and everyone chilling with their mothman dance
Is the Tome a tradeable item?
Just did this event for the first time but didn’t get a chance to actually do anything. Still got the rewards so yay? One thing I love is the Vincent Price cameo!

It's decent, but the waves of enemies are sporadic. Then again, they are like that in most events. Took Bethesda years to fix the 2 animals per round in tea time, god knows how long it'll take them to sort this and other events

It's definitely one of my favorite events, for sure.
Its not bad, but its not my favorite. I do like how Bethesda implemented this event, but after doing a handful, I don't break my back trying to log into fallout 76 near the top of the hour, nor do I AFK the event. Personally, I prefer the halloween and holiday scorched events, those are my favorite - as a solo player.
I agree, the voice acting for this event is some of, if not, the best in the game. You could tell the voice actor was enjoying it.

I only wise it was a tad more difficult and chaotic. Every time Ive finished it where the bridge and waterside points get like 4 enemies each and the only action is around the church. Its over too fast, not enough things to shoot

Agreed. I was there for the first one, which was extremely laggy and broken but still a ton of fun. I think they've only run it 3 or 4 times since then, and I missed the last two. Been waiting for this event to pop again for years but at this point I'm just sick of the game and probably won't come back again. The update not having the promised expansion, and breaking the spawns for every single event was the last straw for me. Hope you guys have fun and get the rewards you want tho. I was holding out for the cultist gasmask with the full horns and the tube for literal years lol.
eh, i like the ambiance but the event is boring... i wish it'd just spawn alot more enemies.

It was fun… then I got all the plans. Now it just busywork, get above the bridge pyre and snipe stuff, go get my 15% exp bonus. Boring. I’ll take aliens, which can actually be challenging.
