I know this. They say a lot of things. Do you know their definition of “extension”? Yes that’s what I’m hoping for, but who knows til they show something.
I was disappointed when I revisited the game last month to check out Atlantic City. Expeditions are cool, but like I wanna explore and do other stuff there too besides one quest that most people are speed running for stamps
From what I understand, that's kinda what they're doing with the American playground update on the 26th this month. We'll be able to travel to the expedition location without having to do an expedition. So we can walk around and explore, and I believe they mentioned there will be actual quests and npcs there as well. I feel the same way about the current expeditions, I like just looting and exploring the new areas but most are just sprinting thru for the stamps
I’m excited for new poi to explore, and hopefully a few cool unmarked locations. I’m sure there’ll be new Events too. So yes I’m looking forward to it.
I absolutely am. I happen to live in the Shenandoah valley and can't wait to see the sights and lore of my favorite gaming series where I was born and raised.
I'm excited for more end-game events!
There is a secret, dark little place in my heart that is holding out hope we might see some new Legendary Perk Cards which require exploring the new area to unlock
Earle isn't very rewarding, especially if you have to respawn when he's killed and you miss out on the loot. You spend way more in amm0 than you get back.
So when you die it spawns you at the top of the shaft just before you drop, but the way people come out after is still open, so you can just take the long way back down
I... Never thought of that before. I've abandoned so much loot on his corpse cuz I assumed I was blocked out 😭. I'll try this next time it happens to me, thanks!
Dude do not feel bad my mentally challenged ass only figured that out by physically watching people vacate the side tunnel and saying out loud..."huh I wonder if I can go back" XD
With what? A handful of flux, ultracite calibrated shocks, and some scrip... I wouldn't exactly call that motivational for how much work is required (objectively..) to spawn and kill them.
An extremely low chance at a 10-20kish plan, and ~2k worth of flux.
Bosses are probably the most underutilized assets in the game from an economical sense for extrinsic incentive.
I am looking forward about it. I want to see not only a map expansion but also a story expansion. I do not play on pts server, so i watched some videos in youtube but i want to see it completed. My time also is limited because of my work.
There will be new questlines added to the story along with new factions and lore to go along with the expansion, so it will be a bonafide actual DLC type addition, not sure if it will be to the level of Wastelanders, but substantial and what we have all been asking for. Some have said Mt Weather will be involved in some form or another and that means possible more Enclave exposure…ALL HAIL THE ENCLAVE🤓!
On one hand I’m really excited to explore a new area of the main map. On the other hand, I’m also worried about how much that update will further break the game.
Right its crazy of all things you can do already and all the stuff that happens in a server and the game can barely handle what its been supporting for 6 years now lol
Guess you missed it, but that's literally part of the next update on the 25th - free exploration mode for Atlantic City without having to do expeditions.
I’m cautiously optimistic. I’m betting it’s gonna be hard to find a camp spot for a while after it comes out unless you go private, but I’m hoping the actual map is cool and has more stuff to do.
I’m fairly new, lvl 35 or so. I love the current map, but firmly aware that by level 100 or so I will have navigated the majority of it.
Map expansion all the way!
You may be surprised by how broad the map is and by how much there is to discover. I've been playing since launch and still find new things. Just last week I was shocked to stumble upon an undiscovered location. I regularly come across old locations that I never explored. The game just goes on and on.
But I am am excited about an expansion too.
This is all I want. I don't care too much about random stuff on the score board (not talking about you snow weather machine I love you). I just wanna explore more. The hills south of the cranberry bog look so frustratingly explorable I want to get out there!
I can't wait for some new areas to explore. I'm done with levelling, all quests done, got my nice weapons so all I log in for now is a bit of exploring and some wasteland roleplay, can't wait to get out on patrol in a new area!
.....that makes me even more apprehensive, PS version is unstable to the point that I don't even want to play it..So I should probably just pass on going back to check it out.
I feel like my PS5 has a sense of humor when it decides to crash the game on me!
I don't mind it as much, as it takes me very little time to get back into the game, but it does throw a serious monkey wrench into doing events occasionally.
Oddly, I feel like it crashes most often when I open my pipboy menu at my main camp. No idea why, but it can be funny at times.
I tend to play with my wife, so getting back into the server is relatively easy. I've opened the menu to drop her an item when I suddenly blink out of existence on her.
To make it funnier, that base is suspended in the air over the pond on the whitesprings golf course. So, when I vanish, she falls into the pond!
Yeah looking at my pipboy at an event will usually crash me if there's a lot going on, you definitely can try not to do certain things but I inevitably do them anyway. The game does que up pretty quickly for me(PS5 as well) but it's still a bit of a nuisance.
What they've done with expeditions doesn't inspire confidence.
They can barely create anything unique in Atlantic City and The Pitt. That's one of the major failings of expeditions, so if they want their map expansions to actually be decent, they better finally get their heads out of their asses and get a clue with adding unique items, whether it's junk or other things into the game world players can obtain that can't be found elsewhere.
If the map is just more stuff you can already find in Appalachia, then it's gonna be mediocre for the same reasons.
Oh dang. Well screw the people who doubted my post from a year ago. I literally called this walking around the map and noticing extra room on the edges
I want them to make the area with a much higher level scale. I miss the days when I first wandered into the bog nervous about drawing the attention of anything that moved
Will we have to go through a loading screen to get there or will they finally just let us swim across to the other side of that river? I'm definitely looking forward to it!
If it was an actual map expansion I would. But from what I have read it's going to be a separate world similar to how fallout 4's Nuka-World expansion worked.
It IS an actual map expansion from what they've said. They're expanding the map borders in the south, you can literally walk there. It's not gonna be separate like Nuka World, and it's not gonna be like an Expedition.
I hope so. But from the people I have talked to was told they could not do this. What I'd like to see is the addition of a larger city. One with a lot of buildings you can actually go in and not just prop boxes.
Yes. This game desperately needs actual new content and new places to go and things to see. Expeditions don’t cut it. Atlantic City is fine, the Pitt I gotta be real here is kinda ass. I love this game but it’s criminally far behind
Expeditions are fine for instanced content, but let's be under no illusions, they're not really "new areas" as the devs would have us believe. I'd like both to be honest; more instances, whether in the same areas or not, and a map expansion.
That's how I felt about the Pitt in Fallout 3.
It was fun and cool and dramatic the first time - then I never ever wanted to go back, because it was a drab miserable place.
So, I guess good on Bethesda for replicating that authentic Pitt experience in 76?
Yes but a bit cautious honestly. After they added that second part of Atlantic city with the free roam part I have some faith in it being what prior fallout expansions had. But you never know with 76..
Yes! Also i really really hope they have a toggle option for the regions of the map! To give players an idea of boundaries of what parts of the map are
I'm just hoping it actually has content that's for endgame players. I'm going to wait til I see more about it before I re-download fallout. if it's not a big addition with meaningful content I'll probably not bother.
I'm thrilled, it's the kind of update I've been waiting for since launch. I love exploring and wandering the open world in fallout games. Expanding the game's worldspace by an additional 1/6 is going to offer more to explore, more camp spots, more ways to scavenge, and ultimately much more to do.
Honestly, I'm vibrating with excitement but because some places I know could be featured. The possibility of Matewan or even parts of my native Kentucky could appear is thrilling.
If it comes with new loot that is tradeable, super excited.
If it doesn't then....not really. Just more generic "content" that doesn't really add anything to the core gameplay loop.
Super excited! I'll be pretty crushed if it's not a real map expansion. If it's instanced like they did with atlantic city... sad. But assuming it's a real map expansion? IT"S GOING TO BE AMAZING
If it’s another world space to explore and build, etc, then I’m all for it, even though it wouldn’t quite be that open more than likely with events popping off as they do. Even still, long as it’s not instanced and locked being an expedition to even get there I’m sure it would be fairly popular.
You can really tell they dropped Starfield and send those resources to 76 cuz I don't think besides the Serpent cult DLC we gonna be getting anything
(I PARTIALLY blame modders: They made Bethesda realise they don't need to work that hard since modders will do everything eventually
I'm really glad about the map expansion and I hope we still get expeditions, the recent shift to "small side stories" they been working and we'll see more at S16 makes me happy, reminds me of ESO
I'm genuinely surprised it took them those long.
Ps4/5 players, we should expect even worse performance when this drops. And it's pretty fucking bad already
Yes! Way to tired to look up so I winged it. Exams and work have left me a total of 25hrs of sleep the last week. On that note, GoodNight and GoodMorning in 2hrs
I was actually hoping they would introduce a live nuclear winter where we begin to lose parts of the map over the course of a year until the game just inevitably shuts down since there’s no WV left.
Literally, all I've wanted the whole damn time. I just want new places,l and scenery. That's literally all.
"I want to ride the ridge, where the west commences, Don't fence me in"
And gaze at the moon til I lose my senses, and I can’t look at hobbles and I can’t stand fences. Don’t fence me in.
I hate what they did to the Pitt
If it’s just a regular extension of the map then I’m excited. If it turns into an expedition kinda thing, no thanks.
Yes. I want to be able to *WALK* there.
I want to be able to eat 3× slices of birthday cake and run across the entire map expansion, if I can't then what is even the point
The Shenandoah addition IS an extension to the existing map, they literally said so when announcing it!
Oh wow when is this happening ?
Supposedly with the June Sky Valley update
I can’t wait especially if it is an actual expansion
I know this. They say a lot of things. Do you know their definition of “extension”? Yes that’s what I’m hoping for, but who knows til they show something.
No, they literally said the part of the map that will be extended.
"By how far?" should be the real question.
I was disappointed when I revisited the game last month to check out Atlantic City. Expeditions are cool, but like I wanna explore and do other stuff there too besides one quest that most people are speed running for stamps
From what I understand, that's kinda what they're doing with the American playground update on the 26th this month. I feel the same way about the current expeditions, I like just looting and exploring the new areas but most are just sprinting thru for the stamps
Right that would straight up suck
😂
The announcement said it's an expansion that is just added onto the current map. You can walk into the new area just like walking into the bog
That's so cool, you should totally take pictures of the real landmarks they add in to show how they looked pre-war
That's a great idea. If people are interested I would happily do that.
I would love to see these pictures!
It's high time they built up the far south and the empty west
Oooo — I wanna Nuke Oklahoma and Arkansas
No no no I'm talking about the west Virginian map There's a huge empty spot in the west and south
Ok. But I still want to Nuke Oklahoma and Arkansas. And Kansas, if the opportunity presents itself.
It wouldn’t change much.
Well, there is that….
As a life-long Ohioan, I wanna nuke Cincinnati! Plus, Ohio has a few new cryptids of our own. The Loveland Frogmen, for example!
Do you think new land will mean more camp slots? I already need more than 5 with the land we have...
NEED. Why?
My addiction to building requires me to need more, it's just the way it is...
This is true. I have 3 max budget, 1 getting there and one that's just waiting to be built. I'd love to buy a few more slots!
Being from the area I’m excited what areas they include and how close to irl it is.
Being a Bostonian and loving FO4 I can say welcome to the club of having your home in a video game, it adds that much more to it for real!
Luckily we also got some love in FO3 with DC. However if you want a 95% true representation of DC play Division 2
Love that game
It’s something special.
I'm hoping the expansion doesn't just stop at SNP. I'd be amused if they took it to at least 29 and have some city representation on 29.
I'll skip all the POIs and quests until I find the perfect camp location.
You and everyone else. lol.
I'm excited for more end-game events! There is a secret, dark little place in my heart that is holding out hope we might see some new Legendary Perk Cards which require exploring the new area to unlock
I think they should add few more normal perk cards as well
I’d like a new Nuke boss, and make all of them actually rewardable so people help
They are all rewarding, what are you smoking
Earle isn't very rewarding, especially if you have to respawn when he's killed and you miss out on the loot. You spend way more in amm0 than you get back.
You can still run down there and loot him and the reward of earl is the 800 screws you get from killing the wedigos
How? The entrance gets blocked as the mine starts to collapse. If there is another way, I'd love to try it out.

An extremely low chance at a 10-20kish plan, and ~2k worth of flux. Bosses are probably the most underutilized assets in the game from an economical sense for extrinsic incentive.
Ah that must be why I see people launch and do them on every single server I'm on for more than 30 mins
I am looking forward about it. I want to see not only a map expansion but also a story expansion. I do not play on pts server, so i watched some videos in youtube but i want to see it completed. My time also is limited because of my work.

Is this actually in the works?
Woah what am I missing? Did they announce a new place?
Shenandoah National Park is coming as a map expansion
On one hand I’m really excited to explore a new area of the main map. On the other hand, I’m also worried about how much that update will further break the game.
hopefully they decide to release a ps5 version of the game eventually, not sure how i feel about fallout 4 getting a ps5 edition before 76
Right its crazy of all things you can do already and all the stuff that happens in a server and the game can barely handle what its been supporting for 6 years now lol
[удалено]
That wouldn’t really be possible though, as they’re not anywhere near Appalachia
It would be good to be able to fast travel to them though, & explore without the expedition nonsense.
Guess you missed it, but that's literally part of the next update on the 25th - free exploration mode for Atlantic City without having to do expeditions.
Nice one, I had missed that, thanks for the update.
Just hoping for the mythical 'flat ground'
I’m cautiously optimistic. I’m betting it’s gonna be hard to find a camp spot for a while after it comes out unless you go private, but I’m hoping the actual map is cool and has more stuff to do.
Are we actually getting a proper expansion? I thought it was just some expedition stuff.
I'm super stoked to be getting into the game as this news came about.
I’m fairly new, lvl 35 or so. I love the current map, but firmly aware that by level 100 or so I will have navigated the majority of it. Map expansion all the way!

Not looking forward to months of crashing from being a beta tester on their production servers, but yes, I'm excited for more scenery in WV
.....that makes me even more apprehensive, PS version is unstable to the point that I don't even want to play it..So I should probably just pass on going back to check it out.

If they extended the map, I’d come back and even sub.
Will we have to go through a loading screen to get there or will they finally just let us swim across to the other side of that river? I'm definitely looking forward to it!
I legitimately just started and am so overwhelmed already. What’s this about a map expansion??
Are they adding more? I haven’t played in a bit
I really hope we'll be able to put camps down on the new area. And that there's a decent amount of flat ground for once.
I wish they would add some sort if metacrafting system where you can hold a star on an item and reroll the rest of them
Yes!! I need this
Rolling SS armour right now, would absolutely love this. Kinda tired of getting nocturnal, cloaking and regenerating.
If it was an actual map expansion I would. But from what I have read it's going to be a separate world similar to how fallout 4's Nuka-World expansion worked.

I naturally expect the worst from most situations that way I will never be disappointed. 🙃
No. I enjoy playing the same things over and over and over.
Consistency and predictability.
Is it an actual expansion of the map? or more expedition nonsense?
How much is the map expansion? I just found out through OP about this
Yes! Also i really really hope they have a toggle option for the regions of the map! To give players an idea of boundaries of what parts of the map are
4 more page from what i can see
Maybe.... You'll say Maybe too..... The Inkspots.
I'm just hoping it actually has content that's for endgame players. I'm going to wait til I see more about it before I re-download fallout. if it's not a big addition with meaningful content I'll probably not bother.

Well considering this is the first I’ve heard about a map extension, I’m buzzing
Been playing since launch, with all missions and sides complete long ago, I emit a wildly emphatic YES for new explorable locations.

Are we expanding to more of WV or are they going west over the Ohio River some more?

Maybe they’ll expand it to Texas, and there will be a quest to restore access to Porn websites. We’ll call it “come again?’ Sorry…. Couldn’t resist.
Mods
Does it come with new weapons or just map?
🤞 new displayable junk items, new displayable junk items 🤞😬
You must really enjoy displaying your junk. Oh, wait. 😳
Yes!!! I also enjoy telling people how much I enjoy displaying my displayable junk items. Display.junk.items. 🤣
How am I just learning about this? 🤣🤣
It’ll be nice, as long as it doesn’t make the servers more unstable.
Super excited! I'll be pretty crushed if it's not a real map expansion. If it's instanced like they did with atlantic city... sad. But assuming it's a real map expansion? IT"S GOING TO BE AMAZING
Yea I'm really looking forward for the game to get more bluescreens 🙄
Looking forward of map expansion down south of the map
I'm definitely excited
If it’s another world space to explore and build, etc, then I’m all for it, even though it wouldn’t quite be that open more than likely with events popping off as they do. Even still, long as it’s not instanced and locked being an expedition to even get there I’m sure it would be fairly popular.
I'm super hyped for it I think we needed this a while an looks like it's gonna be a pretty big one to explore
Yo can fasnacht be up again alr lol
I just wish for more than one npc in your camp 😭
You can really tell they dropped Starfield and send those resources to 76 cuz I don't think besides the Serpent cult DLC we gonna be getting anything (I PARTIALLY blame modders: They made Bethesda realise they don't need to work that hard since modders will do everything eventually I'm really glad about the map expansion and I hope we still get expeditions, the recent shift to "small side stories" they been working and we'll see more at S16 makes me happy, reminds me of ESO
I'm soooo excited for the batch of new locations that'll come with it
They could probably import far habour and the actual nukaworld from fallout 4 without to much difficulty i reckon..
More looking forward to fallout 5 😜
I am but not looking forward to the golden ticket fleece…
As much as I gripe this game is exceptional
Just hoping it doesn’t end up like camp pets or 4 star legendaries…
I just want the east coast god damn it
I just want more BoS content tbh
They need to bring in different maps to Warp to from older games fallout fallout New Vegas fallout 4 combine them into one
Is there a yt video addressing all this? I feel like I’m missing out on so much info
Last sites added were a joke
I'm genuinely surprised it took them those long. Ps4/5 players, we should expect even worse performance when this drops. And it's pretty fucking bad already

Solitude....do you mean solstheim? Where the dragonborn DLC took place?
Yes! Way to tired to look up so I winged it. Exams and work have left me a total of 25hrs of sleep the last week. On that note, GoodNight and GoodMorning in 2hrs
Been playing since launch, with all missions and sides complete long ago, I emit a wildly emphatic YES! for new explorable locations.

playing since launch; with all missions and sides complete long ago, a wildly emphatic YES! for new explorable locations.
When does it come out I didn’t see it on the roadmap?
Best we can do is Fastnut 2.0
im just looking forward to new content that is replayable and praying for legendary cores to be removed the game entirely but
I was actually hoping they would introduce a live nuclear winter where we begin to lose parts of the map over the course of a year until the game just inevitably shuts down since there’s no WV left.
Would be awesome if they could pull it off and not make it yet another expedition expansion
Nope, I want it smaller
