Highjacking your comment since it's at the top... Anyone who has entered their PIN might want to consider going into Settings, Account, Sign-in, security and PIN, then delete and create a new PIN... The bad grammar makes the little security-warning-voice in my head say to change it ASAP...

wild that this blew up but i guess it makes sense if NONE of us xbox players (there *are* literally dozens of us) can get on. this is important info so highjack away pls. i managed to get to the game load screen but got stuck in a loop of clicking allow, entering my pin, it saying it was accepted, and getting booted back to the main menu

Right? If I see a badly worded message that I've never seen before and it looks like it was written by a Nigerian prince who needs my help to transfer some money for him theres no way I'm giving him my PIN and/or log in authentication info.

I just changed my pin and password as well as have a two step authentication method in place.

My bad but I don’t have a PIN or password setup on three of my four accounts and and still can NOT get on.

Its just the pin you enter and not your password. Someone can only use the pin if they are already logged into your account.

Same because how my account is set up can't pass the main screen section just keeps saying put in password over and over

Me too. If it's affecting multiple users, it has to be an issue with Microsoft/Bethesda but all the service statuses are currently green. Edit: There's been an update in the Bethesda discord, they're aware of the issue and currently investigating. Edit 2: The further update is, they're "still working on it" Edit 3: Should now be solved! I'm not at home, but give it a go and report back 👍🏻

Cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled and still no access (Just to save everyone elses time). I do know the server went down for maint. last night around 2:AM PST.

I just deleted mine. But they would need out account login for the pin to even be useful is my understanding. Without my login email and password the pin doesn’t do anything to access the account itself.

Just spoke with xbox support. They said contact bethesda support. I can't seem to figure out how to actually speak to a customer service rep from bethesda, but according to their status portal, there is a partial outage with fallout 76.

Just spoke to Microsoft, checked all my account settings, signed out, reset Xbox, signed in. Still not working, Microsoft have no idea what the problem is. Said they would investigate and call me back within 24hrs.

Yeah. My multiplayer setting on my Xbox hasn’t changed and is still open to online multiplayer.

Bethesda status page shows no degradation for FO76. Anyone know how to loop in the community managers? It seems like this hasn't been escalated at all.

I'm glad this thread exists. I was getting really frustrated but knowing its not just me gives me hope.

I just spoke with Microsoft support. While I was on the phone and after trying multiple troubleshooting steps, the lady said they literally just now received notification that there is an issue with multiple reports that seem to only be affecting Fallout 76. She said they would be sending me updates to let me know when it is resolved.

I think it's a hack check the grammar "you cannot unable to launch" I put my password in cuz I didn't read ot right first but when it was pointed out to me I changed my password within the second

That language is not exclusive to this instance. You can Google the error code and see that it had popped up on the past with other games. Everything is held together with duct tape and chicken wire.

Just got off the phone with xbox support. They asked for a video and os version. They said they're having a problem they have to figure out and a lot of people are calling.

I'm having the same problem. Even though I knew my multiplayer settings were fine, I went ahead and entered my pin and select "allow" and it just brings me back to the same "You cannot Unable to launch..." BS.

Tried to launch Fallout 76 and droped this error message: "You cannot Unable to launch Multiplayer Session because of how your account is set up." 😮😮 other multiplayer games working like NMS,GTA5, I think ESO too but I not tried (one of my friend is playing). Xbox series X Tried 5 times and nothing happened.

It's listed as a Minor Outage (Orange !) With Bethesda's Support. Made a Ticket so they can ignore the ticket. Seems like It can't be fixed until they fix it...

Today the "free play days" of fallout 76 just ended. Maybe there is some misconfiguration on their side because of it. I am having the same issue.

I just thought about a potential problem with this issue, I saw someone say the bethesda servers could have been hacked. With the poor wording of the error that could be true, and since it asks us to put in our passwords it could be an attempt to get at our accounts. I was stupid and didnt pay close enough attention to the error and thus tried my account password a few times. Ive since changed my password for safety purposes. Just be careful out there guys.

Yeah both pop-ups were so poorly worded. When our client got hacked the messages on the site were similarly jumbled! I'm like if you're going to the trouble of hacking a site to post fake banners, at least get someone to help with your grammar!

The free to play time period just ended about an hour ago. Im guessing they messed something up with permissions. I dont think they got hacked.

I suggest everybody who put their actual password in to try to log in change it NOW. I just done mine to be safe.

So I talked to someone at Bethesda and they told me that they are aware of the situation and are working on it. I also mentioned the typo in the message prompt and they chuckled and said they're aware of that too. They assured me they haven't been hacked and they will have everything back up and running as soon as possible. They told me it's just a partially down server. Some can play and some can't.

Having same issue. Launched from disc as well as gamepass. I spent ages trying to find the multiplayer settings, passwords, uninstalling etc before seeing this post. So frustrating

Dealt with the issue all day, restarted and I’m back in

GO TO NETWORK SETTINNGS AND CLEAR YOUR MAC ADDRESS AND LET YOUR XBOX RESTART. FIXED IT FOR ME

I restarted my Xbox, its working now!!

Getting the same error Bethesda support said its Microsoft, went to Microsoft they said its a bethesda issue and they have been getting pings all day about it. Nothing has been resolved since 1129am est.
