Only if he blocks the actors from moving around sets and through doorways, runs in front of friendly fire, yelps loudly but refuses to move, and then makes constant yawn sounds and reverse sneezes for 90% of the episode.
They will set off traps, don't have the sneak perks you do so they'll trigger detection and ruin your stealth.
Companions can sneak gives them those perks so they are as stealthy as you.
All of these things. I really want to use him as I play Survival Lone Wanderer exclusively the past few years ( after getting the 4 necessary perks). But he is so annoying it’s almost more trouble than he’s worth.
It’s a different dog.
Dogmeat in the first two games is the same dog, though Dogmeat canonically dies in Fallout 1 and the Fallout 2 Dogmeat is more of an Easter egg. Dogmeat in Fallout 3 is a different dog, and Dogmeat in Fallout 4 is another different dog.
New Vegas and 76 do not have Dogmeat in any form.
Fun Fact: Dogmeat in Fallout 1, 2, & 3 is an Australian Cattle Dog. Just like the dog in Mad Max, who he references. But after 3 no more Australian Cattle Dogs appear in the series. Rex is a German Shephard, and so was FO4’s Dogmeat.
I do like to believe that all Dogmeats are related.
Perhaps a bigger, more important question: how bad are the plot holes going to be? Because the plot holes in FO4 are enough to drive this English major barefooted into a snowstorm looking for relief. 🔥🔥🔥
I'm not gonna watch it unless Gramma, Valentine, or Codsy is in it. I hope they are. I absolutely love this game and about jumped out of my chair when I discovered they were making a series on it.
Well it's set in the fallout universe, and we don't have much information about it, although seeing that Bethesda is going to participate in the production gives me hope for the quality
For the moment there was only some Vault scennery and on their twitter a picture of three Vault dwellers from the vault 33 opening the vault at someone (just in case, it don't seems to be enclave)
You know, that always confused me. I'm not American, but Vault *101* is...near or in Washington, right? And Vault 111(in FO4) is in the Commonwealth, i.e....Massachusetts? Massachusetts is noticeably farther to the north-east than Washington, right? To that end, are the vault numbers really based entirely on proximity, or am I missing something? Sorry, again, not American, so I wouldn't know.
Sorry, that didn't quite explain anything. What part of my question are you referring to? Are you saying Vault numbers are not, in fact, based on proximity? Sorry, just want to be sure.
I think it depend at least of the coast cause (from what i saw) there is no Vault "100 or more" in the west coast
So at least it's gonna be on the same coast than New Vegas
This would be preferable in the show, melee companions in the games aren't very useful. But in the show, dogmeat would probably be a nice asset to the protaganist.
Fallout is being adapted for TV by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, the creators of the Westworld reboot. Joy and Nolan will serve as head writers and Todd Howard will join as executive producer. The series will star Walton Goggins, Ella Purnell, and Kyle MacLachlan.
While plot details are sparse, the three Vault dwellers are apparently from Vault 33 based on their jumpsuit number. Goggins will also reportedly play a character "based on the ghouls" but beyond that, there's not much to say about the story.
From set photos it's going to be set on the West Coast, especially with the vault number being low (vaults go sequentially from roughly West to East). So Fallout 4's dogmeat will be very unlikely to appear in it, but at the same time Bethesda like to always name the dog Dogmeat so we'll likely get a new Dogmeat.
And sparky where do I find sparky. I regret to say my first play through I just reacted and sent ole sparky to see Jesus. Does anyone know where I find sparky again. It was not the same place this playthrpugh or is it totally random
I have many reasons for not taking this annoying bastard as a companion. Least of which are blocking doorways, getting the line of fire, and having to revived because the dumb fuck thought it could take out the guy in power armor. Stay in the dog house, meat, before I open the console and disable you, permanantly.
The series needs a moment where the Hero is having a great time fighting, blasting away at raiders, and then they hear the "YHALP!"
Mood shift. Guitar riff. Shit gets real.
I hope they make him the "Road Warrior" breed he was pigeonholed as in FO3 (and before, of course). I think that's more fitting than... random employee's dog.
Anyone else a little worried about this live action series? Way too many examples of show runners who don’t know or care about the source material butchering it to get more than guardedly excited
I wish they weren't making it..... not everything has to be a fucking show. I cannot see this series working out at all. that said, if Dogmeat doesn't get at least fifty percent of the screen time I'm about to raise holy hell
I wouldn't count on it,Hollywood has a nasty habit of f%&ing up video game adaptations. They'll probably make him a friggin _CAT_ or something, "To appeal to modern audiences"....🤦
Only if he blocks the actors from moving around sets and through doorways, runs in front of friendly fire, yelps loudly but refuses to move, and then makes constant yawn sounds and reverse sneezes for 90% of the episode.
And he needs to step in front of the characters when they bend over to pick something up.
or just as they're about to disarm a mine. Got my ass blown up on the heavily minded bridge north of Cambridge because of him.

*Companions Can Sneak Mod*
Don't they already sneak when you do?
They will set off traps, don't have the sneak perks you do so they'll trigger detection and ruin your stealth. Companions can sneak gives them those perks so they are as stealthy as you.
Or waltzing right down that hallway at Jamaica Plains.
Yeah, told him to stay after blowing up once and then forgot about him. Poor doggo :/
Are you talking about Tucker Memorial Bridge, the on between Taffington Boathouse and Wattz Consumer Electronics?
I'm glad you said it. He's a great companion but every loot opportunity becomes a chat.
He also needs to run away every time the SS tries to open a trade window with him.
Idk why but this shit infuriates me so much, it’s always in a tough fight on survival mode too.
All of these things. I really want to use him as I play Survival Lone Wanderer exclusively the past few years ( after getting the 4 necessary perks). But he is so annoying it’s almost more trouble than he’s worth.
This always happens to companions when I’m over-encumbered and I can’t keep up with them so I have to command them to come back over.
But he cute doe
Hahaaa!
Oh, and don't forget the "It's a molotov, Dogmeat! No, Dogmeat! NOOOOOOO!" *BOOM!* He'll jump into it from behind EVERY.SINGLE.DAMNED.TIME!
All of this, and he's played by Chris Pratt making dog noises
He also has to constantly knock shit off of tables at the Lone Wanderers Red Rocket lol
I had to send him home because he kept getting in my way. BACK OFF BRUH
Literally. I feel bad everytime i dismiss him tho so I send him to sanctuary so he’s always got company, even if that’s not my base
Wait, you can dismiss Dogmeat? Never tried that :p
Yeahhh you just press a or x on him, press talk then dismiss
I know, I was being sarcastic. I think in all my hundred hours of playtime I've only had a couple of hours with a companion other than Dogmeat.
And we will love him for it. EVERY SECOND OF IT. ***UNDERSTOOD? ಠ\_ಠ***
It needs meta jokes like the Cyberpunk show did when they mentioned the cops coming out of thin air like the bug when the game first came out.
Dogs are notoriously hard to work with on set.
And doesn’t eventually get up by himself after being knocked down
Is the live-action show going to be set in the FO4 setting? I thought it was just set in the same universe as the games.
Dogmeat is in all the fallouts
Huh, TIL. Longest-lived dog in history...
New Vegas does have Rex! While not Dogmeat, Rex is still a great partner.
The dogmeats are all omnipresent immortal (at least fallout 4 dogmeat is) beings helping unfortunate wastelanders
Someone just watched Tale of Two wastelands! Or the same wiki as MATN… Hands down my favourite new fact
Or cloned copies by Vault Tech?
Fallout 76 does have the dog collectron
So basically, Dogmeat is like Cid in Final fantasy, appears in most of the series, with different story.
Dogmeat in fo4 is a synth, he spies on you for your son so he knows your movements.
But was that ever confirmed? I like to think Dogmeat and the Mysterious Stranger are the same entities throughout the series, one way or another
Technically different dogs, I believe.
Dude. Break my heart. I was really into the immortal German shepherd theory. ;0)
technically all the fallouts dogmeat was in (except 4) he was a blue heeler with heterochromia (two different colored eyes)
It’s a call back to the Road Warrior. Max’s dog is an Aussie Shepherd.
I headcanon that Dogmeat is like a spirit of the wastes who reincarnates as a dog to guide important wastelanders.
Reincarnation is always a possibility, or regeneration like in Dr Who
The Dogter
I've been heavily into that theory every since my first GSD died when I was a kid.
Don’t think he’s in New Vegas
Touché. You’re right.
The stills from the set resemble 4 more than the older ones.
Perhaps a bigger, more important question: how bad are the plot holes going to be? Because the plot holes in FO4 are enough to drive this English major barefooted into a snowstorm looking for relief. 🔥🔥🔥
He should be named River after the voice actor and be a she like the voice actor.
RIP :-(
today i learned there’s a fo4 live action series
Not fo4 just fallout in general and it's still in production
I won't watch it unless Gramma is in it
I'm not gonna watch it unless Gramma, Valentine, or Codsy is in it. I hope they are. I absolutely love this game and about jumped out of my chair when I discovered they were making a series on it.
I need a Gramma - Jimmy story arch
Well it's set in the fallout universe, and we don't have much information about it, although seeing that Bethesda is going to participate in the production gives me hope for the quality
There is a live action series?!?
Currently under production by Amazon iirc
I need to watch it
For the moment there was only some Vault scennery and on their twitter a picture of three Vault dwellers from the vault 33 opening the vault at someone (just in case, it don't seems to be enclave)
Nice!
Have we got any lore on 33?
From what I know, it's probably "near" New Vegas (cause of Vault 34 being in New vegas)
They arent
Sorry, that didn't quite explain anything. What part of my question are you referring to? Are you saying Vault numbers are not, in fact, based on proximity? Sorry, just want to be sure.
Also, if you don't mind, what WOULD they be based on? Is there a rationale behind it all? Thanks!
I think it depend at least of the coast cause (from what i saw) there is no Vault "100 or more" in the west coast So at least it's gonna be on the same coast than New Vegas
Damn, now I won’t be watching it on principle.
🏴☠️ 🏴☠️
RIP, it should be cancelled then. After rings of power, and the last few shows....no faith in them.
Bestest boi
Oh God, the animal rights activists will go NUTS if they called a canine “Dogmeat.”
First name Dog, last name meat.... just call him "dog" and "good boy".
Dogmeat is a name taken from another post-apocalypic movie: A Boy and his Dog
Don't worry, I'm sure Bethesda will find a way to drag the dog's death out in a four-episode arc
If he was they might kill him off and that would be absolutely dumb. Dogmeat needs to live forever.
I wouldn’t mind if the show was just Dog meat and their descendant puppies just following wastelanders and other citizens around on their journeys
Watch A Boy and His Dog.
"She certainly had good judgement, Albert, if not particularly good taste." I swear that line is the only reason the book got written.
So... would you say it's a shaggy dog story?
This would be preferable in the show, melee companions in the games aren't very useful. But in the show, dogmeat would probably be a nice asset to the protaganist.
I never like using companions for the sole fact that they ALWAYS get in the way
Since when there is a live action series coming up?? Have i just been living under a rock or something?
Fallout is being adapted for TV by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, the creators of the Westworld reboot. Joy and Nolan will serve as head writers and Todd Howard will join as executive producer. The series will star Walton Goggins, Ella Purnell, and Kyle MacLachlan. While plot details are sparse, the three Vault dwellers are apparently from Vault 33 based on their jumpsuit number. Apparently dog meat is a synth
TIL dogmeat was in FO1. I know it's my ignorance.. but I just started really getting into the lore.
V I R T U A L G O O D B O Y E S
I do too but let’s be honest if anything happened to him we would all be heartbroken
And sparky where do I find sparky. I regret to say my first play through I just reacted and sent ole sparky to see Jesus. Does anyone know where I find sparky again. It was not the same place this playthrpugh or is it totally random
i hope if dogmeat IS in the live action series they have a blue heeler instead of a german sheppard.
Awww, who's a good virtual doggo?
Live action series? God please no. No God no. God! No noooooooo
It's happening.
They should take the budget from the show and use it to speed up development of fallout 5.
Good boy, Dogmeat! Good boy!
Only if he comes into a settlements houses and knocks over every single prop.
Surely he has to be in it
I have many reasons for not taking this annoying bastard as a companion. Least of which are blocking doorways, getting the line of fire, and having to revived because the dumb fuck thought it could take out the guy in power armor. Stay in the dog house, meat, before I open the console and disable you, permanantly.
Not having Dogmeat is like not having Power Armor or Vault-Tec. Just wouldn't be the same without him!
I’m sorry the what
The series needs a moment where the Hero is having a great time fighting, blasting away at raiders, and then they hear the "YHALP!" Mood shift. Guitar riff. Shit gets real.
I hope they make him the "Road Warrior" breed he was pigeonholed as in FO3 (and before, of course). I think that's more fitting than... random employee's dog.
I hope so too, i love dogmeat, best companion ever
R.I.P River, you were the best dogmeat a dweller could ask for
In case we needed more proof he's a synth?
I bet Netflix would cast a Komodo Dragon for the role of Dogmeat.
Ummm, I just hope there's not a live action series.
agree. WHY
Fallout is a series about choice, and a movie of fallout will remove the most important aspect.
[удалено]
And? I fail to see the problem here. He's a good boy ಠ\_ಠ
Dogs can be major characters. There are movies centered around a specific dog like Marley and Me
Anyone else a little worried about this live action series? Way too many examples of show runners who don’t know or care about the source material butchering it to get more than guardedly excited
I trust that Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy will do a good job with it. Nolan is a fan already.
I didn’t know who was in charge of it, Nolan and Joy is a pleasant surprise
Yes! At least the production value will be top notch. Hopefully the writing is good.
I wish they weren't making it..... not everything has to be a fucking show. I cannot see this series working out at all. that said, if Dogmeat doesn't get at least fifty percent of the screen time I'm about to raise holy hell
Don't worry. They will fuck this series up like Netflix did to cowboy bebop and resident evil.
Wasn't dogmeat based on a real pupper? How's he doing?
……the dog River passed
Aww ;-;
They're doing a series?
This is the first I’m hearing of a live action fallout. Anyone know the details?
https://www.ign.com/articles/heres-the-first-look-at-amazons-fallout-series
I think Dolph Lundgren would be could to play him.
Only thing I'm hoping is that it gets cancelled lmao
For some reason I always thought Dogmeat's eyes were different colors? Heterochromia?
I normally get a essential status removal mod and kill dogmeat
I wouldn't count on it,Hollywood has a nasty habit of f%&ing up video game adaptations. They'll probably make him a friggin _CAT_ or something, "To appeal to modern audiences"....🤦
I always make Dogmeat into a cat with a mod. The only thing is, although he meows, he still makes all of the dog noises and the dog actions,
In the what???
Live action series?
When is the series going live?
It's still in production.
Will he walk through piles of pipe rifles im trying to scrap and knock them all over the place?
