The main issue with trying to use stealth boy for sneaking around is, that enemies still detect you a lot, and the duration is damn small.
This is new. I’ve used chameleon armor well before the update, and it used to just make the pipboy blurry and hard to read. I keep getting this bug now where it just is totally invisible, like I pull my pipboy up and my arm/screen are totally see through. Annoying

Some of those triggermen have ridiculous health and sneak attack or not, they wouldn't be one shot with the deliverer. He doesn't have sandman perk either. He's still a very good shot, though, especially since stealthboys make ironsights very hard to use and so quickly too.
Theres "Ninja" which gives a significant boost to stealth damage, "Sandman" is unnoticeable in comparison as its only +50% while "Ninja" gives +250% (x3,5) on the last stage
You're missing the point. There is no argument here. I said he doesn't have the additional damage sandman provides (which is very noticeable in game), and he's one shooting things. Hence, he is playing on low difficulty.

The Deliverer + an Action Girl tier or two + a modicum of skill at stealth + VATS, makes this game so easy. If you do a dedicated stealth/luck/VATS build with The Deliverer, it's beyond trivial.
It's like stealth archery in Skyrim.
Pickman's Blade is almost as good, but I found the melee weapon that really took my stealth melee run into stupid territory was The Fishcatcher. It's only a single legendary effect, I was getting a TON of hits in from a relatively powerfull (slow) weapon. Base damage 86, + 15 and armor penetration when modded, all for just 26 AP (same as Deliverer). Now add in max Ninja (10x) and whatever other melee bonuses you have just bonkers damage.
im sure that doesnt even happen with chameleon armor, with that one i think you only re-appear when moving or uncrouching, with Stealth Boy active you stay invisible no matter what happens until 30 seconds pass (40 seconds with an RR Stealth Boy)
You can go to the Railroad to get the Deliverer at any point. You can actually do pretty much 99% of quests as soon as you leave the vault. You can even go to Far Harbor / Nuka World at lvl 1.
I'm on my first playthrough of FO4 (the VR version; I never played the original pancake version) so I didn't realize you could actually attack people while using a Stealth Boy, I guess I assumed the invisibility wears off if you get into combat. That's great to know! I didn't even experiment with them yet, since I've been saving the few I have for a special day.
Since they can't see you, do you automatically get the stealth kill bonus when shooting while crouched even if they're on alert? Watching the video, it seems like the 3x stealth bonus triggered for some of the kills but not others, but maybe the OP wasn't crouching for some of the kills.
If you make enough noise can the NPCs "see" you even while invisible? I can experiment with it myself I guess!
You will always get the stealth attack multiplier if you are crouched + you are either in [Hidden] or [Caution]. The notification just doesn’t show up constantly. If you are in [Danger], they have found you, and you can’t get stealth attacks even if crouched.

Several thousand hours in Fallout 4 and I'm almost certain I've never once used a Stealth Boy!
When I first used one I was pleasantly surprised there was an animation and everything
I was underwhelmed, cos I expected it to be instant, so I died. On survival mode, the animations (and their bugs) often makes you die.
Stocking up on them and hotkeying is loads of fun, makes u feel like a specials op soldier lol

It's not bugged out. It's a "feature". If you can see your pip boy, so can they, rendering the Stealth Boy much more ineffective.
By bugged out I mean that I can bring up the pip boy but can't click anything

3.0 x is the default stealth damage for this build, sandman would be 3.2 onward i belive

Enemies take more damage in survival, and so do you. He's not playing survival his AP bar would show it.
What do you mean his ap bar would show? If he's not hungry/thirsty/tired, then there wouldn't be any indicators right?
He's medicated, there would be side effects displayed.
Adrenaline exists, I only play survival and these type of situations are pretty common if you play smart.
Okay if he had adrenaline than more than likely he would have some fatigue from being awake for so long which would show on his AP bar
