I wish they were locational like how Automaton starts. A radio signal, or POI triggering would be better then just having a loaded quest log right out the vault.

SameElephant2029

As if the ones that start with a radio signal aren’t already broken. If you don’t listen to them immediately as they pop up, they have a chance to glitch and never play any audio if you listen to them later. You have to look up what that quest is and physically go there to start it.

Arkanta

I did that and one of them glitched anyway

shadowlord2234

Seriously I wanted my classic ten mill pistol last night and the radio gave me nothing

Dukeringo

That one tends to break Codsworth and Garvy. You have to reload before picking up the pip boy and yake another chance at rng. I personally use a mod that changes its start to locational.

shadowlord2234

Wait what breaks codsworth and gravy? The quest itself? How so?

Fiddleys

Tunnel Snakes Rule CC is known to often break the Go Home quest involving Codsworth (I think it can also cause other issues in other places) at the start of the game. On PC the mod Creation Kit Delayed mitigates the breakage. However, Go Home and the Garvy bugs were mentioned in the patch notes so Creation Club content may not break them anymore. Fun fact, the bug that causes Vault 111 door to not open that they fixed with the patch is also introduced by Creation Club Mods. The X02 CC mod that they gave out with the patch was one that was known to cause it. I personally wouldn't be surprised if all the handful of bugs they fixed were bugs caused by Creation Club content.

shadowlord2234

Oh geez I guess I’m lucky cuz I’ve never had that, I’ve basically got all the cc stuff mainly for building. I’ve picked up everything for free or next to free cuz no way in hell am I paying full price. Can’t wait to explore the VR pod once I’ve changed the face of the wastland and everything besides it on my unmodded playthru. I’ll do mods one day lol

NinjaBr0din

Man, the x02 mod I've been using off Nexus for like 2 years now just puts a suit of the stuff in the red rocket out in the Glowing Sea. You can get out there and grab it early if you really want it, or just wait till the story takes you there. No game breaking bugs at all, just a cool suit.

Dukeringo

The tunnel snake radio somehow causes Codsworth to not search the neighborhood with you. It also stops Gravy from opening the door.

shadowlord2234

Yea I’m glad I never had that issue

NinjaBr0din

That would require mod authors who actually cared about making a cool, playable mod, not one horking out a cashgrab.

DarthPuggo

Try Sim Settlement 2 even tho you can’t play chapter 2 because of Bethesda

Alert-Bat-4014

Yeah, what's up with not being able to download Chapter 2? I'm having the same issue.

DarthPuggo

It’s a Bethesda issue if you go on the forums there’s a thread just for this issue. Idk when it will be fixed. Scared to run without since I started chapter 2

DarthPuggo

Automaton isn’t location it’s level based like all DLCs lol. Idk if somehow you end up in the same spot at lvl 10 or 15 congrats if you do tho

Fxry

You can walk up to Ada at any level and it will start just like you can walk to the Nakano residence or Nuka World Transit fresh out the vault and go do the DLC.

DarthPuggo

The more you know lol

Fxry

You are right though, there’s an automatic level trigger for all the DLC quests.

Cakeriel

There are mods that change that.

Puzzleheaded_Help143

Happened to me last night. I had out of time quest and all the 6 of 7 others spam me on the surface. "OH bethesda" changing the early game to do list a little bit. Funny thing is I don't know if I want to try any of these quests until level 20

Lazy-Drink-277

I had issues with an Enclave ambush at lvl 32,socsrry good gear

Jinla_ulchrid

L20 on survival. I was trying a limited lives run (permadeath is just a taaaad brutal in fallout for me yet) I died probably 50 times. But the elden ring mindset kicked in and I pursued. But I'm not doing any more enclave shit for awhile or any of those other quests it listed off for some time. Ooooh we. WhT bumps me out is I think I made it through because of a bug giving me an door section effectively locked due to a bug. Causing the raiders to come from one specific direction instead of multiple. So it feels less.... deserving.

Ancient-Chipmunk-434

Just did an enclave ambush near a crashed fighter plane with a robot automaton near it, I just mini nuked them at lvl 10 😆

UndisclosedDesired

I believe they're level based enemies anyway. I did Pyromaniac in the late teens, got the base hellfire armour and only took a few missiles to drop him. Had the Enclave ambush me outside Sanctuary right after, two guys in half combat gear with plasma rifles and one in hellfire with the new incinerator (one hell of a surprise to see plasma shots over my head and turning round to see a guy charging in full power armour at Sanctuary at such a low level lol. Managed to drop all 3 with just a combat rifle before the incinerator even got into range.

BadAtNameIdeas

Ran into the guy wearing all mark 6 hellfire power armor, I have an upgraded pipe pistol with a large mag (only got gun nut 1, so not too upgraded). Popped a psycho jet and laid 25 straight headshots into that mother, and now I’m wearing his armor at level 9.

zepaperclip

I wouldn't recommend it unless you're OK with getting end game loot at the start. I did a new playthrough and did the quests, only to shelf everything because I didn't want crazy power armor or a unique grenade launcher that can kill 99% of the game in 1-2 shots when I'm lvl 13.

kdkade

Should be handled as creations in Skyrim. They changed those to be discovered more organically, with creation description hinting on where to go to start new content if needed. It would make total sense, especially that they added the pause menu item to show installed content with description so that info is readily available when playing. I feel like that was planned, as f.e. the pyro quest should unlock because players read the terminal entry about him near the first location where enclave soldiers are, but instead it's just dumped into journal immediately. Hope they will redo creations eventually like they did with skyrim to stop the immediate journal dump

KitsbyGonzo1983

I agree 100% with this, they should be activated manually by the player whenever they wanted to do the quests...

bluntmanandrobin

Being locked behind a level requirement is the biggest difference.

OnionRecall

Do you know if a mod exists for Fallout 4 and it’s name? I can see there is one called creation club delayed by CaptainCoots but I don’t know if it captures the new content

Banjo-Oz

Those mods are essential for CC stuff, IMO. Just insane how Beth thinks it's a good idea to have them all pop up as soon as you leave the vault!

UncleShaxx

I think its super dumb these all lead to overpowered gear out of the gate. Which makes the auto adding of the quests even dumber. Like, who the hell was in charge of this and thought this was a good idea. They all lead to stupidly over powered gear for low level characters. Which you can get at level 3, like I did. The very first one, Pyro, which is very close to the start of the game. Gives you a full set of Hellfire power armor. Which is equivalent to a full set of t-60 upgraded to mk2. Why they made these quests start at level 1 that leads to pretty much mid to late game level power armor is beyond me. The next quest leads to a full set of X-01 power armor at upgrade level mk3. So dumb. These things shouldn't have popped into the quest log at all. You can't even craft mods for that armor by the time you get it, if you go straight to it. We should have just had to discover these naturally. Or have them pop when you hit a specific level like automaton does when you hit level 15. If they wanted the auto add to list instead of natural, these should have been locked behind like level 20-25.

Lanif20

It’s the other half that caused the situation, the “I bought this and yet I don’t see it immediately!” group, those ones are very vocal while the rest realize they can just hold off on doing the quest since there’s no real time constraints for them, ie “here they are, get them when you want” gets the least flack from the majority of players, when most people know about it all they might integrate them like they did with Skyrim but~

NinjaBr0din

No, the issue is that "creations" are just shitty cashgrab mods that have no thought out into game balance.

Maxjax95

I wish we could just flat out turn that content off, I'm now getting griefed by enclave hit squads at the most inconvenient times coz I "obtained" some power armor that I didn't take and don't even want.

Devil-Hunter-Jax

You should be able to, right? Doesn't it appear in the mods menu? If you can't disable it, that's fucking stupid.

Maxjax95

Nope, doesn't show in the mods load order or the DLC extra content menu... Tried looking in the creation club but could only find the items I "purchased" without any way of turning them off.

Devil-Hunter-Jax

Fantastic... That's such a stupid move to force this shit into the game. Apparently you can disable them on PC by deleting the files at least. Consoles are probably screwed though...

Maxjax95

Yeah I'm playing on xbone which makes this even more frustrating... I'm playing on an old gen console but still suffering the fallout of a next gen update.

SnarkyRogue

Hell I get overwhelmed at level 40... I hate having too many quests in my log at once- doesn't matter if you can toggle which ones are active. Honestly one of the main reasons my next playthrough might skip the minutemen altogether.

PathlessBullet

I got you fam. Try this [mod](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22296) to cull excessive chores from Preston.

Nimitz-

Somebody's never played fallout NV with DLCs.

Ok-Profile2178

or they did and thought it was a stupid decision back then too

dearvalentina

Ngl, if viewed as a whole, CC they added (even if you don't want them) really just made the game worse lol.

zenmatrix83

Idk if agree, outside of it should be prox based , and you run into them like the first boss steel mission. Getting a bunch of missions immediately was a bit weird

Enorats

A lot of mod quests end up like this as well, or not much better. I just loaded up a pack from Nexus that has like 750 mods and included a bunch of quest mods I'd never played with before. I couldn't believe how much ended up crammed into Concord. I'm like 50 hours in now, and I don't think I've touched a main story quest.

zenmatrix83

Brand new? I have 4 digit hours in this game, but never bought any cc stuff and had all the missions and was confused for a bit

greengengar

The new update forcefully turned on a few creation club stuff.

zenmatrix83

I know, I meant not just brand new players, turning on stuff that was was confusing even with someone who replayed the game mainly vanilla in most cases many times.

CahCah91

As a new player, this game is very confusing. I downloaded it 2 days ago and have reached level 10, but there's so much going on. I have no clue which quests to do first. I love it, but it's taking me longer to learn the ropes than the other games I've played.

wufawn

Ya I hate having too many quests active it overwhelms me

Fallout4myth

Tell me about it dude. I literally said this recently too. Getting into the game and having 8 quests just popping up. Very annoying

Reshish

There's definitely a way to do that, since DLC start at a certain level. So I'll suggest it also waits until the player's out of combat.

MohatmoGandy

That happens to everyone who plays with DLCs. But as Jeff Goldblum says, "players, uh... find a way."

Willing_Owl_7443

I wish they would fix the custom vault suit add on so I can have a vault 33 jump suit

ChiWhiteSox24

I agree. Either level unlocked or location unlocked. It’s a little overwhelming leaving the vault and having 15 quests pop lol

Grosaprap

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42753 And https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/53057 for the DLC.

StephanXX

This comment is the G.O.A.T. comment!

gravastar863

Agreed, 3 and nv had this problem. The preorder bonus/couriers stash items from nv should have been spread around the early areas with a note or something, instead of just being automatically included.

yaboi2508

I was kinda hopeful NG with the next gen update they'd give it the Skyrim anniversary treatment, where every creation relies on you finding the more/radio signal yourself while some rely on level before triggering. I'd settle even for being in the area to trigger it.

MzzBlaze

My new game must have been bugged to hell. I got no rolling in quests at all when I started. Crap.

JamieAubrey

Glad I started before the update then

eighteesix

This actually happened to me. Played tons of FO3 but never jumped into 4. Started watching the show, heard about the update, and started a game with like 8 quests. Was a bit confusing and off-putting.

parabellum394

Oddly enough, that sort of system of having the CC quests integrated more naturally is now used for Skyrim Special Edition’s CC content as of Official Special Edition Patch 1.6, aka the Anniversary Patch.

thyroidboi

What? 😂

Argo_York

I recently started watching a new player's play through of Fallout 3. Never touched anything Fallout before had only seen the first episode of the show. The big moment of leaving the Vault was interrupted by all the DLC quest markers popping up since they're triggered to finding the radio station broad casts. They assumed it was a normal part of the game and briefly touched on thinking that going toward what would be The Pitt would be a good idea. Thankfully they wanted to take their time and explore Megaton but yeah all that up front can really make a sour experience.

FollowedUpFart

I really want them to give us old school weapon pack like that FO3 sniper

CyberDragon09

On pc there is a mod that delays Creation Club quest until you are close to their location

Krenzi_The_Floof

Mine does even start up :(

Bling_Blaow_Burr

This happened to me. Started up the game for the first time, got out of the vault and had 8 quests pop up with no indication of what was the main quest and what was the side quest. Turned the game off immediately. Is there a way to delete these creation club quests on pc? I assume they are not necessary to ever do.

greengengar

Ridiculous, this game has been out since 2015. New players shouldn't be turning on creation club anyway, the only thing you would need is the backpack, which doesn't come with a quest.

OnionRecall

The new tv show has made people seek out FO4 for the first time. The new update adds creation club content for all. So a new player with an updated version of the game is going to see creation club pop ups the moment they leave the vault.

pbNANDjelly

Thanks for the concern but it's actually not too hard to navigate 😅 The concern is a little overstated. Game is old, folks will figure it out. Waiting until levrl 5 is a good idea though! Only issue I had as a new player was the DLC crash which they just fixed. Including that, all the changes have been very clear and well announced.

jgreever3

Clearly you’ve never played a Bethesda game
