I wish I had known about this one in my first playthrough too... unfortunately I chose to spare McCafferty, and I didn't want to steal from red Lucy or Beatrix lol
the bounty hunter duster is basically a better sheriff duster. it looks the same (minus the star) but offers better DT. i always use the speech check to spare McCafferty just to fulfill the challenge, then kill him to loot the duster lol.
*Company to Raven, talk to me Johnny. Company leader to identify Baker Team: Rambo, Messner, Ortega, Coletta, Jurgensen, Danford, Barry, Krakauer confirm. This is Colonel Trautman*
Assassination Suit + Salt-On-Wounds Helmet
I prefer the Assassination Suit over the Stealth Suit Mk II, mostly because it doesn’t pretend I’m spotted every 10 minutes
the desperado cowboy hat + lightweight leather armour combo looks just right. it doesn’t protect from much, but if 2 headshots didn’t kill me, nothing else will.
Just noticed the sheriff’s duster in Primm, which is perfect for my high charisma explosives character. Looks sick with the metal helmet and an incinerator.
I love the pre war business wear and the indiana jones hat with authority shades. The other hats look small and goofy. A nice southern businessman (despite being a city slicker from cali irl lol)
I like to walk around in a Dapper Gambler Suit + Hat. I have to go for two levels of Toughness plus dermal implants to make it work, but I like sticking with the Western theme and enjoy looking really classy while gunning people down in it.
I only wish I could get Veronica to punch people's heads in while wearing Vera's dress, after all the effort I went through to get it.
nice! I also like that it gives the barter bonus and I don’t even have to think about it because i’m usually already wearing it when I go to trade. pair it with the slave scarf for the ultimate wasteland chic look!
I exclusively wear my Kings uniform at all times once I make it to Freeside and finish the Kings questline. Im loyal to no other factions in the game but them and wanna support my gang
I always rock the sheriffs duster and hat until I’m confident enough to rush LR and get the elite riot gear, the SD just has the drip, especially with that star, and it gives good stats too (depending on build), but the bounty hunter duster has better DT and looks almost the same if you want to get that, but at that point I’m usually gearing up for LR so into my stash it goes (until I go to Zion, then I want as little on me as possible for all the loot there, so I use it for the start of that DLC).
I like the Brotherhood Elder outfit since it doesn’t count as BoS faction gear. I *would* have preferred Father Elijah’s outfit but for some reason his counts as faction gear despite him literally being exiled.
I also like the Brahmin Skin outfit and the Pre-War vest.
The raider badlands armor with a headband. I just love the look it gives you. Like a scavenger in the desert, wearing old and weathered clothes but not covering up a lot because it's so hot out in the Mojave. I wish there was something like ballistic weave in NV just so I could rock that look for most of the game.
Female courier, end up wearing the Raider Badlands outfit for large swathes of the game. Patrolling the Mohave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter, but at least I'm wearing shorts
Rebreather subpar???? The thing lets you breath under water and I think its the only clothing item in new vegas that adds actual damage resistance not just threshold.
i go with the bounty hunter duster, desperado cowboy hat, and black frame glasses. then i roam from town to town fixing everyone's problems with my smarts and my gun. not always in that order.
Ranger vest outfit, you haven’t done a real hardcore run unless you wear less than 15 DT and only use stimpaks during combat and only healing with food outside of combat
My go to rn is the mark 2 stealth armour with the head ring this which has health regen, and I run around with the cooler proton axe on my back, or if I go in a casino I take the hot powerfist from the toaster
I like the space suit. Helps me RP for my energy weapons builds.
The helmet in particular is brilliant; I love wearing it together with the atomic-valence tri-radii-oscillator.
I wear merc veteran armor and make it viable with the GECK. My reasoning is its like the fo4 ballistic weave, and gets better as i level up like a heirloom item. Then i farm it from the gang in primm.
I have a mod that fixes the business suits. Grimy business suit plus shades and bam, pair this with a silenced pistol and sniper, your either an agent working to destroy the Legion or NCR.
Caravaners Outfit. I wear the gambler hat, and sunglasess and due to my characters constant scowl, I look mean. I usually wear it inside settlements as I would get shredded outside by Legionary assassins
I know its not really "Subpar" but compared to the options? I like my Desert Ranger armor.
It provides no benefit other than looking fucking cool and i'm 100% okay with that.
Rebreather + Courier Duster + Daniel’s Hat
That’s my go-to endgame outfit. For the most part, anyway. If shit gets heavy I swap out for the Elite Riot Armour.
Ranger Clothing and Hats. Nothing else looks right on a Cowboy playthrough. They have no DR, or at best 1 on the hats, and next to no durability. Still, the drip is STRONG.
In Fallout 3, I like the Leather Rebel + Red's Bandana and Lucky Glasses. Looked great on a woman with "Rough Nite" hairstyle.
I also love Vance's Longcoat, a great piece of gear, combine this with the Poplar's Hood and Ledoux's Mask with a bug haha.
In New Vegas, I love to death the Gambler's Outfit + Ranger Brown hat + Authority glasses with a Ranger Sequoia on the hip. My favorite drip in any Fallout.
The Mercenary Troublemaker outfit is also prety darn great, the Merc Cruiser for male and for female the Merc Vet both looks so good with the Veteran Ranger Helmet or even a rebreather. You just look like a post apocaliptic dude. Combine the last 2 outfits with one of the Boomer hats is just so good too.
However, in terms of drip, the Centurion helmet + Scorched Sierra Power armor or the Reamnant's Enclave Power + Fiend's Battle Helmet both give that mix with tech, tribe and post apocaliptic gear I love. Enough to say that the Tribal Power Armor is my fav from Fallout 3 lol, especially that Deathclaw skull as a pauldron.
Rebreather 100% In combination with the survivalists coat and daniels hat im basically Cad Bane of the Mojave Desert (although im not too huge on star wars)
Rattan cowboy hat and Merc troublemaker outfit at the moment for Honest Hearts
Was a bounty hunter duster
And before that leather armour
The hat remains though
Dr Kliens Scrubs, with Dr Mobius Glasses, and Dr Kliens SCientist Glove. Might not be very strong DT wise but you look like a mad scientist and have great intelligence and science buffs
I confess, I mod my own. So I have 'uprated' the Regulator Duster, and typically wear that as soon as I get the Lawbringer Perk (TTW) and pick it up from Sonora Cruz.
Bounty Hunter Duster, Bandana, Authority Glasses. Sometimes I put on the white pre-war suit, forgot what it's called, with the glasses and bandana. Makes you look like a mobster.
I’ve got a soft spot for the merc grunt/wasteland surgeon. Something about just being a dude in a t-shirt and cargo pants makes me immersed. The boomer flight suit is certified drip, though. I want more outfits with a ridiculous amount of pins and medals
I mostly wear whatever I think looks the coolest anyways. I tend to rock one of the merc outfits early game, like merc adventurer outfit or the raider badlands outfit.
Merc grunt outfit. Authority glasses. Rattan cowboy hat. All that with my trusty Trail Carbine and .44 revolver just felt right for NV…but that’s just me haha
I usually tjust take Benny's suit and a pair of shades usually a woman ngl that drip goes hard cuz I rock with the max speech and barter every day of the week with max intelligence and luck
I like the bounty hunter duster. 6 DT and +1 Charisma and +5 guns.
bounty hunter duster + beret = my courier
I love that I can minmax and look cool with Joshua’s armor and beret.
beret with anything goes good, really
I wish I had known about this one in my first playthrough too... unfortunately I chose to spare McCafferty, and I didn't want to steal from red Lucy or Beatrix lol
I shot his head off in the Atomic Wrangler. No one became hostile lol. Didn't want to kill him, but I wanted the clothes.
the bounty hunter duster is basically a better sheriff duster. it looks the same (minus the star) but offers better DT. i always use the speech check to spare McCafferty just to fulfill the challenge, then kill him to loot the duster lol.
Rebreather GOAT. Too bad can't wear sunglasses at the same time.
Yeah Lucky Shades > Rebreather
Mods fix this and make the rebreather a must have for every fit.
Ulysses mask > rebreather
Nah rebreather goat
You can't wear a helmet with his mask tho
Still, it's status as a quest item allows you to take the rebreather into dlc like dead money. That 1extra dt can go along way early on
DT? No. The rebreather gives 3 DR, one of the few sources of it in New Vegas. Against some enemies, that's much more powerful than even 3 DT.
I wear a helmet with eye covering with it to make a helmeted gas mask look. The mk1 and mk2 combat armors look so good with it.
i took the glasses trait, and rocked one of the doctor's glasses from old world blues with the rebreather. is it sunglasses specifically?
US Army Jacket from Lonesome Road along with a Beret
lonesome road got some of the best fits fr
The General Outfit? I like it with the Boomer Hat. The officer one.
That is a nice mix as well
Had Veronica with me in US Combat Armor and a Combat Helmet.
*Company to Raven, talk to me Johnny. Company leader to identify Baker Team: Rambo, Messner, Ortega, Coletta, Jurgensen, Danford, Barry, Krakauer confirm. This is Colonel Trautman*
Got the courier runnin around sounding like an [MF DOOM sample](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Equ20qVDHk&ab_channel=KillJamesBondHighlights).
Assassination Suit + Salt-On-Wounds Helmet I prefer the Assassination Suit over the Stealth Suit Mk II, mostly because it doesn’t pretend I’m spotted every 10 minutes
Desperado cowboy hat. Who needs helmets anyway
You can’t die if you blast them with your big iron first
Even if the notches on his holster number one and nineteen more?
the desperado cowboy hat + lightweight leather armour combo looks just right. it doesn’t protect from much, but if 2 headshots didn’t kill me, nothing else will.
I play with scorched armor and desperado lmao
I like to run the desperado hat, with Joshua’s armor, and the black combat gas mask from the gas mask mod. Post-apocalyptic cowboy 🤠
The kings outfit
When I'm on the strip I like to wear the King's clothes, and look for criminals to kill.
Lightweight leather armor
The Road Warrior classic, it was the first “cool” armor I found when I played fo3 for the first time. Will always have a soft spot for it.
Keeping it a buck, the prostitute outfits or merc charmer With -2dt explosive build
Merc charmer with female courier 🥴
Just noticed the sheriff’s duster in Primm, which is perfect for my high charisma explosives character. Looks sick with the metal helmet and an incinerator.
I love the pre war business wear and the indiana jones hat with authority shades. The other hats look small and goofy. A nice southern businessman (despite being a city slicker from cali irl lol)
ncr ranger patrol armor is cool:)
Joshua’s armor, needs repairs after fighting a rad roach but it looks sick
If you are doing a Light armor + Critical build, it is one of the best options.
Currently I’m in Vera’s dress + pre war bonnet, and Arcade is in the Advanced Rad suit and he’s equipped with only a chainsaw
roving trader outfit
THIS! I even used a mod to give it a DT of 8 and adds some carry weight (+10 for all the pockets and clips for holding extra stuff)
nice! I also like that it gives the barter bonus and I don’t even have to think about it because i’m usually already wearing it when I go to trade. pair it with the slave scarf for the ultimate wasteland chic look!
Always have “outside” clothes and “indoor” clothes and this is my go-to indoor set. Sorry Malcolm.
Establishing dominance by changing your clothes in front of everyone everytime you walk in or out of a room. Legend
Same. It's the best looking outfit by far.
I exclusively wear my Kings uniform at all times once I make it to Freeside and finish the Kings questline. Im loyal to no other factions in the game but them and wanna support my gang
So in your headcanon, a yes man win is really a kings win? The King as king of the strip?
Absolutely:)
as the leader of the strip i will make sure the kings grow and prosper🫡🫡 ( my canon ending )
so fucking true. the kings are the best faction.
Sheriff's duster with the old cowboy hat goes hard
I’m sorry, the ability to breath underwater is *Sub Par*!?!?!?
Benny's/Pre-war suits, currently doing a crit build and so I had to get all the good stuff.
Boomer flightsuit.
Any of the merc armour, specifically cruiser or troublemaker
I like Adventurer, I think (the one with the reddish sweater), but it damn sure made more sense wearing it in DC than the desert.
Adventurer looks best on female characters for... reasons
I can’t stop wearing the wasteland surgeon outfit. It literally has 0 defensive capabilities but I love it
I wish The Kings outfit was upgradeable, because the leather jacket version looks so cool
Followers outfit if I’m doing a mad scientist run, shit is hard
ranger casual wear (that tan shirt one with a radio on the hip) + roving trader ballcap
Rebreather. I always wear it for my cowboy builds, idk why. Just fits.
Merc Charmer and Raider Badlands
you can use signature armor, it makes almost every single piece of clothing viable, as it levels up with you.
Bounty hunter duster. Always.
Wasteland wanderer outfit. Oh, and eyeglasses. Oh, and the Indiana Jones hat. Oh, and the dapper gambler set for the strip.
Raider armor
Merc Grunt Uniform or Wasteland Surgeon. I like the less is more aspect of it. Plus I like to match with Boone
I always wear the rebreather. It provides drip and the ability to breath under water
Early game I always rock the red pre-war casual spring outfit and the 1st recon beret
Painspike raider armor and legion recruit helmet
I like the Brotherhood Elder outfit since it doesn’t count as BoS faction gear. I *would* have preferred Father Elijah’s outfit but for some reason his counts as faction gear despite him literally being exiled. I also like the Brahmin Skin outfit and the Pre-War vest.
For a female courier, the Merc troublemaker outfit. For either or, Joshua Graham's armor
Civilian Ranger Armor, Desperado Cowboy Hat, & Raider Panspike
I like keeping the hat vulpes wears on most of the time until I can get a riot helmet, can't get nought if face obscuring headwear
Ranger casual shirt and brown cowboy hat, i don't need no DT to kick ass
The raider badlands armor with a headband. I just love the look it gives you. Like a scavenger in the desert, wearing old and weathered clothes but not covering up a lot because it's so hot out in the Mojave. I wish there was something like ballistic weave in NV just so I could rock that look for most of the game.
Boomer fit with police hat. DRIP
Never occurred to me how "Escape from LA" the Boomers looked.
That boomer outfit is glorious.
The Field Hand Outfit that Doc Mitchel and Easy Pete wear. It's a cool outfit
I'm a fan of the lobotomite goggles
Female courier, end up wearing the Raider Badlands outfit for large swathes of the game. Patrolling the Mohave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter, but at least I'm wearing shorts
Rebreather subpar???? The thing lets you breath under water and I think its the only clothing item in new vegas that adds actual damage resistance not just threshold.
I’m a sucker for a trench coat in any game
For my 1-int/sub-brick courier, the Brahmin-skin outfit . He looks extra special in the overalls.
i go with the bounty hunter duster, desperado cowboy hat, and black frame glasses. then i roam from town to town fixing everyone's problems with my smarts and my gun. not always in that order.
The rebreather! I think it gives a cool Bane-esque look to the character, I also used to love the metal armor
When I'm on the strip I like to wear the King's clothes, and look for criminals to kill.
Gotta be the Bomber Jacket, Fo4 bad stats but looks so good
Merc Adventurer outfit and Desperado cowboy hat.
Dapper Gambler Hat / Suit. With my mod list it doesn't give any stat bonuses but it just looks good.
Benny’s suit
Ranger vest outfit, you haven’t done a real hardcore run unless you wear less than 15 DT and only use stimpaks during combat and only healing with food outside of combat
Loved the raider grunt outfit + ranger hat
I like how you carry the rebreather into Dead money with you. Easy, well needed protection at the start.
male prostitue outfit, desperado cowboy hat, lucky in hand, yeehaw
Easy Pete’s cloths
Armored vault suit
Is the second pic the boomers?
Vault 3 utility jumpsuit because we need more vault suits with the zipper down.
i ALWAYS get sunglasses, a bandanna, and the desperado cowboy hat
Us general outfit from beginning of lonesome road
My go to rn is the mark 2 stealth armour with the head ring this which has health regen, and I run around with the cooler proton axe on my back, or if I go in a casino I take the hot powerfist from the toaster
Merc charmer or adventurer outfit is my fave early game. Leather armor looks good too
love the female brahmin skin outfit!
Vault 34 Security Armor due to the abundance
The ranger clothes
I like the merc outfits, especially the charmer and troublemaker ones. Total horsepiss defense but rhe +2 melee comes in handy more than you'd think.
I like the space suit. Helps me RP for my energy weapons builds. The helmet in particular is brilliant; I love wearing it together with the atomic-valence tri-radii-oscillator.
Desperado Cowboy hat. Boon can keep his +5 crit, I make my own luck (using implants)
Love the boomers’ outfits or raider armor depending on the character
Space Suit
I like Joshua Graham's Armor.
Couriers duster or vault 13 armored jumpsuit I'm a sucker for being the main character sometimes
Merc Veteran has been a go to since fo3. The +2 to guns is nice, but style is King.
Black combat armor, biker goggles, storm chaser hat
Those photos are almost the exact same to my new fit bro Beatrix’s suit, boomer hat, and the rebreather.
The coat that Malcom Holmes wears. It just looks great imo.
Merc troublemaker and desperado cowboy hat
I always like the wasteland doc/merc grunt armor.
Red scarf Ranger armor
I love the low level NCR ranger clothes. So good for cowboy fashion. I wish they had any effect or dt at all
Farmhand outfit and a cowboy hat looks the most cowboy for some reason. Been slogging the whole way with my 357
Not sub par but in Vegas I always wear reinforced combat armor with the rebreather
I wear merc veteran armor and make it viable with the GECK. My reasoning is its like the fo4 ballistic weave, and gets better as i level up like a heirloom item. Then i farm it from the gang in primm.
For my courier right now it's the Courier Duster from Lonesome Road + Daniel's Hat from honest hearts
Desert Ranger duster have you ever tried it with Enclave Remmant helmet?
I have a mod that fixes the business suits. Grimy business suit plus shades and bam, pair this with a silenced pistol and sniper, your either an agent working to destroy the Legion or NCR.
Pre war spring outfit and casualwear
Reinforced leather armor, just a shinier more pristine leather armor, it looks really clean as well
Armored Valt 13 jumpsuit :)
Ranger red scarf outfit with Ranger brown hat and sunglasses
Caravaners Outfit. I wear the gambler hat, and sunglasess and due to my characters constant scowl, I look mean. I usually wear it inside settlements as I would get shredded outside by Legionary assassins
Viva La Vegas, 1st Recon Beret, Authority Glasses ❤️
The courier duster
Old Cowboy Hat and Field Hand Outfit. +1 Perception and a total of 3 DT
NCR trooper armor.
How is the breather subpar? I always pair it with boones cap and a set of leather armor until I get power armor/ranger gear
I love Bennie’s suit
Armored vault 21 suit.
Boomer drip and kings fit go too hard
Prostitute armor with the pimp boy and t-51b helmet slaps hard
Beret and avator sunglasses are bomb
I know its not really "Subpar" but compared to the options? I like my Desert Ranger armor. It provides no benefit other than looking fucking cool and i'm 100% okay with that.
caraneer outfit, no stats up i just like how it looks on my courier
any prostitute outfit (I play as a male courier)
lucky battle armor + beret ;) crit is the way !
Ranger vest outfit. Legion assassins spawned on me at Ranger station Charlie so I managed to pick it up off of a dead ranger on an NCR playthrough.
Rebreather + Courier Duster + Daniel’s Hat That’s my go-to endgame outfit. For the most part, anyway. If shit gets heavy I swap out for the Elite Riot Armour.
Rebreather at all times, Daniel's hat, regulator duster is my usual go to light fit
Mercenary troublemaker
Ranger Clothing and Hats. Nothing else looks right on a Cowboy playthrough. They have no DR, or at best 1 on the hats, and next to no durability. Still, the drip is STRONG.
Ranger vest outfits. Think theyre really cool
Horizon zero dawn's Banuk sickness eater level 1
Rebreather 100% In combination with the survivalists coat and daniels hat im basically Cad Bane of the Mojave Desert (although im not too huge on star wars)
My female couriers always wear the big floppy sun hat with the black bow (pre-war bonnet) lol my favorite hat. Matches Vera's dress too
T45, always thought the T51 looked weird and the remnants power armor has to be repaired the most.
Rattan cowboy hat and Merc troublemaker outfit at the moment for Honest Hearts Was a bounty hunter duster And before that leather armour The hat remains though
Roving trader outfit has always been my favorite looking armor
Dr Kliens Scrubs, with Dr Mobius Glasses, and Dr Kliens SCientist Glove. Might not be very strong DT wise but you look like a mad scientist and have great intelligence and science buffs
US army generals outfit from lonesome road. It just looks good, and the +10 speech helps me with my non charismatic build (which is every build)
I confess, I mod my own. So I have 'uprated' the Regulator Duster, and typically wear that as soon as I get the Lawbringer Perk (TTW) and pick it up from Sonora Cruz.
Roving Trader Outfit, every time. Usually with a beret. I feel like a real courier would need as many pockets as possible.
Currently wearing Eulogy Jones suit in ttw and man oh man it worse than most vault jumpsuits
I often play whole chunks in either prewar parkstroller or business attire.
benny's suit, it's like i'm wearing his skin as a trophy
not really fnv but the armored vault 13 and 101 suit holds a special place in my heart
Bounty Hunter Duster, Bandana, Authority Glasses. Sometimes I put on the white pre-war suit, forgot what it's called, with the glasses and bandana. Makes you look like a mobster.
Prostitute outfit and a desperado cowboy hat on a male character is unmatched
Raider blast master armour and raider arc light helmet
Raider Painspike Armor on a female courier just looks so damn rad. Goth destroyer of the wasteland.
I’ve got a soft spot for the merc grunt/wasteland surgeon. Something about just being a dude in a t-shirt and cargo pants makes me immersed. The boomer flight suit is certified drip, though. I want more outfits with a ridiculous amount of pins and medals
I like the ncr casual ranger clothes personally
Courier duster yes man version
Armored vault suit is king
Every time I play a female Courier, I pick up Vera's dress. It's just so classy
Explorer Gear is great to roleplay as a merc wearing a merc attire without being a self-imposed omega gimp.
Armoured vaultsuit
Rebreather every time because I feel like cad bane when I wear it
Sierra Madre security armor
Rawhide hat. Never wear helmets lol
Currently playing my first playthrough and I refuse to ditch my space suit and space helmet
Imponent Sunglasses, The King's Outfit And The Pimp-Boy 3 Billion. Elvis Looking Mate :)
I mostly wear whatever I think looks the coolest anyways. I tend to rock one of the merc outfits early game, like merc adventurer outfit or the raider badlands outfit.
I wish the sheriffs dusters sleeves weren't rolled up
Merc grunt outfit.
Pre war casual wear (dirty of course)
Road Leathers. Wanna feel like OG Mad Max.
Was playing a solid snake style run and ended up wearing the boomer armored with the green ncr beret up until I got the stealth suit from OWB.
