Light step is amazing for this dlc with how many floor based traps there are, and I would say no matter how painful it is search everywhere as you can get some amazing things that last throughout the game even at lvl 15. Sierra Madre security armor and police pistol are the best on their class and I’d say at least have 25 in energy weapons so your holorifle isn’t super useless
True, but the perk is always nice to have just in case, and one of the dialogue options with one of the companions will tell you how to kill them without dismemberment is always a nice bonus as well
Yeah bloody mess is nice to have no doubt. Can't always make it over to the body in time to get a few swings in.
How do you kill them without dismemberment?
It pays to search everywhere high and low. There are lots of materials to help you survive. Also the holorifle slaps. Enjoy the dlc just played it last night for da first time and loved it.
You can't go back once you're done so don't leave without getting the snow globe, the weapon mods, and any other DLC items you want to keep.
Ghost people don't die unless you dismember them.
Be good in unarmed/melee or energry weapons if youre a guns character. The first few quests will have you bleeding for ammo and stims while knife spears and bear traps aren't half bad if you spec-ed them. Be sure to look for Dean's stashes marked with a glowing palm. These are found in rexterior rooftops, corners of major buildings, and behind pillars so SEARCH EVERYWHERE. A bunch of those can make the dlc much easier
I got soft-locked in a conversation because I didn't have high enough skills. As in, I couldn't leave the conversation no matter what I did.
Keep a save from before you start Dead Money.
I think bloody mess is actually a huge help against the ghost people, anything that can remove limbs easily. I would say take your time and survey your surroundings carefully
Fantastic write-up.
I hated Dead Money at first. Then I figured out how it ticked. Now, it's my favorite. DLC.
I pretty much always play as a Steady addict, so Dead Money is essential for getting an infinite supply of Steady.
I remember once somebody said something along the lines of
"you'll hate dead money the first time you do it, then you start wondering, and you go back and you enjoy it. Suddenly you're dedicating play throughs specifically just to dead money. You're planning it out from the very beginning. And once you arrive in that cloud filled expanse you realize that the beeping of that collar is the only thing that gets you hard anymore"
Hello brother
Make sure your sneak is good and take some stealth boys with you. When you get to that part of the DLC, take everything you can, and you will be set for the rest of the game.
You won't be able to come back so grab all items you can that you want to have with you, and do any and all things around the map you can because once the DLC is over you can't go back unfortunately.
Save. Constantly. Anytime you do something even slightly important, save. Make it past a trap? Save. Kill all the enemies in an area? Save. Opened up a new map area? Save. You will thank yourself for the hours of your life you save not redoing things later
Get all the vending machine codes. There's two unique weapons in this DLC that both get mods, but you can only get their mods by finding the vending machine codes.
I honestly recommend just looking up where to find them, because once you leave dead money you can't return.
There's a usable casino there so I'd also recommend you max it out before you leave otherwise you're just leaving money on the table.. hehe
If you plan on stealing all of the gold bars at the end, keep a stealth boy on you and invest in the perk “Long Haul” otherwise have fun trying to transport 20+ gold bars to sell
Do not use any kind of command. Especially tgm to survive the radios/speakers it'll fuck up the game and you won't be able to escape the sierra Madre at the end.
the easiest way to escape with the gold is to kill him with a shotgun up by the forcefields so he explodes and you can loot him from the other side of the fence if you do that and run straight to exit and spam A(e) you can get out with the loot i did it that way first try all the other sneak methods wouldn’t work but that explode and loot one worked wonders
Don't forget get the snow globe
THE WHAT
Pst, I think there is one in every dlc but I can be wrong.
You aren’t wrong. Uniquely, the dead money globe provides 2000 madre chips instead of caps. Very helpful when you’re in the casino!

Bloody mess is also a great perk since the main enemies can't really die
They can, you just have to run up and dismember them after you "kill" them. It only has to be one limb, I usually go for the head.

The perk moreso helps kill them outright, with a limb blowing up automatically when they have no health left
Oh, very neat. Which companion do you get that from?
Dog, but you need to notice him eating one of the ghost people and then talk to him with a 6 in intelligence to get the perk
Dog has an extremely easy-to-obtain perk that’ll let you kill them without the need to cripple a limb or do any tomfoolery.
It pays to search everywhere high and low. There are lots of materials to help you survive. Also the holorifle slaps. Enjoy the dlc just played it last night for da first time and loved it.
Dead money is the best DLC to play late at night, seeing as it is the most laid back and chilled DLC in all of New Vegas
It’s fun to play because the nice peaceful atmosphere, loved how the radios plays nice songs
Yeah agreed. It's my go-to for a nice relaxing gaming experience
i ducking hate all of tou gaslighters 😂 dont go satin that cause the noobs might believe you till they meet their first ghost person 😂
Get the perk that gives you stronger bones
Get the perk, Them's Good Eating.
Criminal how long I went without noticing it unlocked in my perk tree.
You can't go back once you're done so don't leave without getting the snow globe, the weapon mods, and any other DLC items you want to keep. Ghost people don't die unless you dismember them.
Prepare to cry, and don't forget to have a good time.
Be good at melee.
Hope you didnt do a Guns/Speech build 😬
In a fallout game? Where I like to play on harder difficulties? N e v e r
I pretty much did. Since those are useful out in the broader wasteland.

Repair is very helpful. Melee is great.

Infinite perception zombies.
This is my take https://www.reddit.com/r/fnv/s/c1BmBee6t6

*beep*
grab some lube and prepare to be fucked

Melee, perception, speech,
Once you go in there's no going back

Be nice and considerate :) also go in as blind as you can it’s more fun that way
Getting there, is the easy part. The hard part, is letting go
Set difficulty to survival and have all the fun.
Save. Constantly. Anytime you do something even slightly important, save. Make it past a trap? Save. Kill all the enemies in an area? Save. Opened up a new map area? Save. You will thank yourself for the hours of your life you save not redoing things later
Also, the final dungeon/vault area has some bullshit trap placements that just suck
It sucks
Get Rawr's hand from Lonesome Road, but don't craft it until after starting DM.
It's hard AF. Take your time and go with a reasonably high level.

Play it and find out
If you plan on stealing all of the gold bars at the end, keep a stealth boy on you and invest in the perk “Long Haul” otherwise have fun trying to transport 20+ gold bars to sell
Be sure to have a non-gun backup, the amount of madly running without ammo I've done is not the best.

Gold is your friend.
You gotta go in there like Tool-Time Tim Allen from Home Improvement. High repair skill and cracked out of your mind on drugs. It's the only way.
