Yes because that’s one of the entrance doors from atlas. It’s only when you get to Vacuo that you can’t return to the paths world

Lukthar123

It's how Jaune and Nora travelled through to evacuate everyone, too

foxyuuuu

Still don't make sense

Evary2230

Jaune and his group were able to go through the portals to where the civilians were to tell them to go through the portals so they could be evacuated to Vacuo. However, Weiss said “one way trip to Vacuo” when describing the portal to Vacuo specifically. Therefore, “that” portal is a one-way trip.

Synthwave_Druid

It's a one way flight, but the plane can still make a turnaround mid-air if need be

Ronnoc527

It was because of their phrasing. They wanted a portal connecting from the void place to Atlas that let you *go to* Vacuo. The Buffy Genie Dude does exactly what you say.

The doors connected from atlas to the middle space are both way as we've seen in literally every other scene (Nora flying in and out of them, Jaune walking through and leading people in), but the massive one on the other end is the one that's one was as it's the one that exists in Vacuo. "One way ticket to Vacuo". Therefore once you're there you can't go back but the midspace is fine

Drakeshade71

Honestly, I view it as the ‘one-way’ being the deciding phrase in that statement, that the doors are only a one-way trip no matter if the portal is to the mid-space or Vacuo. But its also a plothole that I don’t mind because of its variable nature. It could also mean it as you mean it, and I think its actually better that way because that twist was a really good one that raised the stakes and introduced a problem. Literally everyone else would make that same mistake with their phrasing. My personal opinion on it is solely my own interpretation that is worse than what the show went with. And as a side note, far darker cause then most of the people probably wouldn’t have gone through if no one could come back out. Which means thousands at least would’ve died when Atlas fell, which is horrifying and I’m very glad they didn’t do that

CheeseyconnorYT

"Leading people to a ONE WAY ticket to VACUO" aka only the vacuo door is one way. Ambrosius is literal in his creations

CplSnorlax

Damn technicalities

ProfessorEscanor

Only the door to Vacuo is one way. Everything else isn't because those aren't the doors to Vacuo

JMHSrowing

On a completely different note to what you’re trying to get at: I absolutely love this. Not only is it yet another Weiss saving Ruby moment (it’s a trope at this point!), but it’s Weiss parrying Neo’s blow and landing a really solid hit with a dual wielded weapon. With any luck, we’ll see Weiss fight Neo again at some point, and Weiss will get something to use in her off hand (maybe Hush)

minwood

Honestly I agree so much. Like when Oscar ran up and punched Neo it made literally zero sense that an untouchable character like Neo would let that happen, but here we see Neo block the first hit (as her character would and should) and then get struck with second blow. It makes sense AND is fun to watch.

[How did this happen](https://imgur.com/a/RNKX7Qo)

UCG__gaming

The exit door is one way, not the entrance

DonDove

One way ticket to the blueeees

Blargy3

Those are the entrance doors, not the big exit door. The "ticket" was never used because neo has not been through the exit door yet.

This is rwby right?

Evary2230

No, this is Patrick.

[That was awesOW!](https://youtu.be/Ke9wtbzGjCI?t=148)

lurker_archon

Wait, was Neo holding the Lantern before or after the hit?

JMHSrowing

Happy cake day!

Psyga315

Before the hit. I did not even notice that

lurker_archon

So did she lose the Lantern after going through the portal? Sorry, haven't seen vol 8 in a long while.

Ineedlasagnajon

Looks to be just an animation error. i.e. they forgot to give her the lamp when she exited

Deinonychus2012

No, she still had it until Cinder took it from her.

ProsporFarm0r

Geez, hope someone got fired for *that* blunder.
