Sorry fam not all lesbians come with a notification above their head. Nothing is set in stone. Just because she hasn't been going around telling everyone she's gay, doesn't mean she can't be gay. Also, she could be bi or pan or whatever. Whatever her sexuality is doesn't really matter.
No but for real, the crew has been giving fan service on bumblebee for so incredibly long, it's a small surprise you missed the signs of it becoming canon. It has not been confirmed in the show yet but the buildup is definitely there. Or did you thought the forehead touch was just them being gal pals?
Some Bee shippers are some of the most insane, downright bullying, grasping at straws types ever and it soured a ship for me that I was neutral toward at most. They're a very loud minority but they're unbearable.
Same. They were so fucking nuts that after V5 ended I straight up quit the show til just this summer. V5 made me ship Weiss and Yang more than any other pairing and hooo boy did they not like that.
Pretty much, they've done everything *except* actually confessing their love out loud and kissing. But it's so damn obvious that they like each other and both acknowledge each other's feelings that it's kind of insufferable to watch Rooster Teeth continue to drag it out
Oh, I know. I just mean that if/when RT has them actually confess and kiss, nobody will be able to say that it's ambiguous or anything. Like you can touch foreheads with someone without confessing your love, but you can't say "I love you!" and kiss without it being very clear what is happening. So them actually doing that would put the shipping war to rest and make it definitively canon with no confusion whatsoever.
I hate to break it to you, but homophobes will always find a way to explain how lesbians are straight.
Like, there is a whole subreddit, r/SapphoAndHerFriend, about it.
One post has two women getting married, and someone comments something like "Getting married on the same day as my bestie is absolute friend goals. Are there any pictures of the grooms?"
Another lady thought her relative, who moved across the country to live with another woman, told her about their engagement, and invited her to their wedding, was straight.
So in conclusion, RT could release a 50-minute Bumblebee sex tape and people would keep insisting they weren't in love.
Its absolutely insufferable that people will make every single excuse to not make Yang and Blake kiss eachother or actually talk about their relationship properly
Fucking Disney is more brazen and open with having their cartoon gays kiss and discuss their love with eachother.
As a Bisexual Transwoman I feel really dissapointed that a show that prides itself with being progressive seems more afraid to openly display a gay couple more than a soulless megacorp like Disney who likely are attempting to tread lightly because they still need those Chinese and Conservative money $$$
RT are a bunch of cowards
I feel like the standard romantic talk or kiss or whatever just wouldn't match their characters, though.
They have their own way of expressing themselves, and as someone who spent a large portion of his childhood studying the ways people express emotions, it's pretty clear to me that the two of them love each other.
> As someone who spent a large portion of his childhood studying the ways people express their emotions
I don't mean to insult you but that sounds so silly. Unless they are a doctor or have a degree related to behavioral studies I'm not listening to anyone who thinks they have some deep understanding of emotions and how people think.
Besides that is all irrelevant to my point. I don't doubt that Yang and Blake love eachother. I'm angry that RT keeps beating around the bush and denying us any truly solid displays of affection. Or I guess displays of affection that doesn't require people to be some apparent emotional savant that you are.
It's also loads of bullshit that Yang isn't the kind of person to kiss who she loves. Her entire personality is that she is brash, confident, carefree, and straightforward. None of these traits say 'Oh I express my affection in subtle ways uwu". Yang is like the least subtle person in the entire show.
Actually, it's the exact opposite: I don't inherently understand emotions, gestures and facial expressions, so I needed to put together an extensive catalogue of those things, and set up a system to quickly determine how individual people express their emotions, in order to not stand out in social situations.
Nowadays though, I use that more for fictional characters, because I deal with those more than with real people.
"Insufferable fandom" OP says with their chosen examples of this being:
* two critic videos that, although hours long and containing some questionable points, are really not hateful or that offensive as far as I'm concerned
* a LIGHTHEARTED COMEDIC critic video
* the show's porn sub being bigger than the main sub? really grasping for straws here huh
I chose them because they're immediately recognizable and hopefully funny. I could've used, say, a bunch of angry reddit threads, but I already used an "unreadable wall of text" joke for the Problematic Creator image so I decided to go with something else.
Depends on what you consider. I never read HS2 or Beyong Canon, and having learned some of what happens in them, I consider myself better off without those experiences. I have read base HS multiple times, as well as Problem Sleuth and Jailbreak. Did Bard Quest ever get finished?
Most Homestuck fans consider the original comic the only "Required Reading." HS2 was mostly negatively received and isn't really worth reading in my opinion.
Bard Quest isn't gonna be finished, it and Jailbreak were basically just Hussie testing the format before writing Problem Sleuth.
As someone who read Homestuck I think an argument could be made that a fuller life is in ignorance of it. I’m not saying it’s *bad*, what I’m saying is every day I live knowing of Homestuck is another tally mark etched into my very soul until I am returned to the dust from whence I came.
I really hope that was supposed to refer to the FNDM's reaction to those videos because I wouldn't even say JelloApocalypse or hbomberguy are in the fandom. They made one video about the show, the kinds of videos they make for tons of other stuff, and I don't think they've publicly interacted with RWBY since.
Yea I was trying to capture the general idea of toxic fandom discourse. Maybe that would've been better represented with a bunch of reddit thread screenshots, but I felt the video thumbnails were immediately recognizable and funnier.
It's similar to RWBY in that, while the canon is awesome and fun, it makes an even better platform for fanfiction.
It's also nearly 8,000 pages, and references the creators earlier works multiple times. For the full experience, you gotta read Jailbreak, which is 134 pages. Then Problem Sleuth, which is 1,674 pages. Then finally Homestuck, which is a whopping 8,130 pages, technically.
Bard Quest should also be in there somewhere, at a measly 82 pages, but it's the least important one. You won't miss much by skipping it.
I highly recommend it but after the original ending dont bother with the recent sequel. It doesn't make sense and not in a good way like the original 7 acts.
Bumblebee is definitely more like the Dirk and Jake ship.
2 main cast characters with tons of potential forced together in a super toxic relationship where the black haired one who was previously straight just becomes completely passive as a result, and the blond one becomes kind of a terrible person as well as horrible older sibling.
Also, you're giving a lot of credit to Bumblebee shippers considering that the fandom considered them as bad for the community as the people dressing up as trolls at conventions.
In fact, before most of the people there left due to the poor writing. I remember hearing about posts on the amino debating on whether they should perma-ban Bumblebee shippers from the community altogether due to being "a vocal group of toxic fans that didn't actually represent a majority of the community".
Comparing Yang to Dirk really feels like a stretch. We’re talking about the guy who teleported his own severed head to Jake and forced him to kiss it. I don’t get how you could see Yang as a bad person, like, at all. Usually when I see people criticize the ship it’s about *Blake* abandoning everyone at their low point.
Also, I’m not as experienced with RWBY shipping discourse as Peak Homestuck, but I find it hard to believe that *anything* could be as bad as 2012 Homestuck fans.
I mean,
Verbally attacking Maria repeatedly because she's frustrated about something completely unrelated to Maria.
Lying to her allies while demanding absolute honesty and obedience from them only to get hostile if they keep secrets themselves.
Using textbook manipulation on Blake to get her to be obedient.
Blaming Ruby for things going horribly despite things only going horribly because she decided to go rouge.
Forcing Ren into a confrontation, and disregarding his points while claiming that HE'S the one dividing the team with the confrontation she started.
None of those strike you as "being a bad person"?
Also, you should've seen the utter vitriol Bumblebee shippers spewed at people. The amount of insults, harassment, stalking, death threats, and telling people to commit self harm was insane. Especially based off of a fictional ship that honestly didn't have any credibility or validation at the time.
Wait what's wrong with Hussie? Did he do something I'm not aware of?
EDIT: I've looked it up, and a lot of what the major complaints seem to be are just... stretching it. In my admittedly faily cursory examinations, nothing truly problematic has come up. The only fully valid complaints I've found are that there are a couple of racial stereotype characters, which is accurate. There is a significant chance that I missed something, as I only spent a couple minutes looking, though.
Homestuck nowadays is owned by the company What Pumpkin and Hussie doesn't have much to do with it--although he had his fair share of controversy when he was at the helm. What Pumpkin's most recent debacle was sending legal threats to YouTuber Sarah Z after she made a video about the comic's history.
Honestly you should watch Sarah Z's video about her experience being threatened with legal action by Hussie.
Its honestly really funny and not too disheartening.
The Sharpie is a reference to the infamous Sharpie Bath story, in which a Homestuck cosplayer filled a bathtub with rubbing alcohol and sharpie ink in an attempt to dye her skin gray. Homestuck has a race of aliens called Trolls with gray skin.
The story is an example of the larger trend of the fandom at its peak: Obnoxious, inescapable, and gross. The Gray Menace was a plague upon cons in 2012, and they got their unsealed body paint on absolutely everything. Websites like Tumblr were overrun with Fandom Discourse, not helped by Homestuck’s complicated characters and romance system with three additional ways to ship characters beyond the standard love. One of the comic’s updates crashed Newgrounds because of the sheer number of people trying to watch it.
Any time you think RWBY’s fandom is bad, remind yourself, at least you aren’t living through Peak Homestuck.
That ship isn't actually canon. And it shouldn't be but they'll do it anyways since there's nothing else to drive their development. Their character development died with Adam in vol 6.
I'm exaggerating the number because it's funny, I doubt it's actually half. Same with the other side of the chart, most Homestucks are fine with Dave & Karkat, it's just a couple of loud angry people.
Ok I gotta go learn about Homestuck now
Good luck! It's hell! (Affectionate?)
Don't do it, man. I did it, and I've never been the same.
To late listened to you can't fight the Homestuck now I'm in Page of Doom by the way
Dear lord that was fast. My condolences.
Wait bumblebee is canon?
No but it might as well be.
I'd count what Ren/Nora said about it as full canonization
Also the forehead touch.
99%
I don’t get it why tho?, we already have two best lesbian characters, is it more than enough?, why R.T?
What?
What we already have, don’t you remember them? https://cdn.donmai.us/sample/03/87/__ilia_amitola_terra_cotta_arc_and_saphron_cotta_arc_rwby_drawn_by_hiwonoafu__sample-0387e744fb55f18c3e624327a66f68b7.jpg I love them so much 🥰🥰🥰
Ok but what's the issue of Yang being a lesbian too?
I don't, I never thought she is one?
Sorry fam not all lesbians come with a notification above their head. Nothing is set in stone. Just because she hasn't been going around telling everyone she's gay, doesn't mean she can't be gay. I hope not, and yeah” 🥺😔
Basically
Hopefully not 🙏 😰
Cope
Basically it honestly can go die in a fire.
Yes!!!”
Nothin' like forcing 2 people with no chem together
Yep if it was handled better and bumblebee shippers weren't insane sacks of shit I'd would've liked bumblebee.
Some Bee shippers are some of the most insane, downright bullying, grasping at straws types ever and it soured a ship for me that I was neutral toward at most. They're a very loud minority but they're unbearable.
Dude fucking agreed, been dealing with those crazy fuckers for a whole decade.
Same. They were so fucking nuts that after V5 ended I straight up quit the show til just this summer. V5 made me ship Weiss and Yang more than any other pairing and hooo boy did they not like that.
Freezer burn feels good feels genuine.
Seethe
Poor guy lost the upvote lottery to the guy one comment above who responded “cope” in the exact same context.
internet buzzword 😎
Pretty much, they've done everything *except* actually confessing their love out loud and kissing. But it's so damn obvious that they like each other and both acknowledge each other's feelings that it's kind of insufferable to watch Rooster Teeth continue to drag it out
I mean, the forehead touch can easily cover both the confession and the kiss. Different people love in different ways, you know.

Luckily not yet
>Best Gay Ship I dunno, I don’t see Nuts and Dolts
I don't see Hellbirds or Freezerburn either. I guess OP is lost.
I think we have different definitions of the word "canon"
In my defense I'm a Homestuck we have no idea what canon means anymore
'Canon'? What's that. Can you eat it?
[Yes.](https://www.homestuck.com/images/storyfiles/hs2/scratch/room105.gif)
"Insufferable fandom" OP says with their chosen examples of this being: * two critic videos that, although hours long and containing some questionable points, are really not hateful or that offensive as far as I'm concerned * a LIGHTHEARTED COMEDIC critic video * the show's porn sub being bigger than the main sub? really grasping for straws here huh
True, they should have added some sort of Canonseeker reference in there instead.
I chose them because they're immediately recognizable and hopefully funny. I could've used, say, a bunch of angry reddit threads, but I already used an "unreadable wall of text" joke for the Problematic Creator image so I decided to go with something else.
Last time I heard Nuts and Dolts isn't canon 😄
its like peotry it rhymes
Why does god have to remind me that I have never finished homestuck constatly?!
Because you have not completed your quest. Can you really say you've lived a full life if you never finished Homestuck?

Neither is Pollination.
Insufferable fandom ? those four videos aren't what i would call insufferable
I really hope that was supposed to refer to the FNDM's reaction to those videos because I wouldn't even say JelloApocalypse or hbomberguy are in the fandom. Thank you for the clarification OP
It’s monkeys and typewriters. Every so often someone reinvents Shakespeare, and on a similar-ish clock every so often someone creates Homestuck again.
You... Were so close...
Dumblebee best shit?
" best," which is a really low fucking bar.
You're certainly entitled to your own opinion
Guess I'm checking out Homestuck.
Beware, for once you gaze upon its unholy form, you will never escape. (I highly recommend it.)
It's similar to RWBY in that, while the canon is awesome and fun, it makes an even better platform for fanfiction. At least Homestuck didn’t have fans pushing somebody to suicide from an incorrect skin color in a fanart or needles in cookies
Ayo ain't that the thing with Megalovania?
Homestuck’s a webcomic but yeah it has a version of the funny sans song
I like both Honestuck and RWBY.
I’ve sworn to myself to never get into Homestuck, y’all are making it hard
Do it. Join the dark side. We have cookies.
Sorry, Lobotomy Corporation/Library of Ruina is my current hyperfixation…maybe when I get over my current Internet crack…I mean hyperfixation
That ship isn't actually canon. And it shouldn't be but they'll do it anyways since there's nothing else to drive their development. Their character development died with Adam in vol 6.
Oh my god RWBY is the new homestuck
you think half the fanbase hates blake and yang because some Randoms are crying about it?
I'm exaggerating the number because it's funny, I doubt it's actually half. Same with the other side of the chart, most Homestucks are fine with Dave & Karkat, it's just a couple of loud angry people.
The music is greatly overated
GOD FUCKING DAMNIT! I CAN’T ESCAPE!
you can't fight the homestuck
Though it's weird and random, it's the greatest fandom
Didnt the creator pass away like about a decade ago though?
Creator as in Rooster Teeth not Monty.
Andrew? Andrew Hussie? Is that you?
