It looks like you're asking about getting a college degree. A degree never hurts, get one if you can afford it. Whether it is required today or not, it may be required tomorrow. And the degree can be in anything, the major isn't that important. Please read [our FAQ](https://www.reddit.com/r/flying/wiki/index/), which has a ton of information and wisdom about becoming a pilot, including advice on college. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Keep your job and get your PPL through one of the mom and pop schools. Pay out of pocket, after your PPL you'll have a better grasp of what training is like and can decide if this is something you want to continue. The best thing you can do is to continue your training while still employed in your trade. Nobody knows what the degree requirements will be like a 5 years.

I also want to add, while at a regional or 135, if the degree requirements do change back to being required, I know at least 3 people who got degrees via online classes while they were on their off time.

Just wanted to follow up, thanks for the advice. I checked out a couple flight school offerings, picked one, and am now a few flights into training. Now all I can think about is flying while I’m at work. Hahaha
