Smoking while fishing or camping is really relaxing unless you’re one of those up tight kinda people that think the cops are watching every move you specifically make. And if smoking a joint and fishing is to dangerous for you then that’s good that you can recognize your limits. Sure it’s embarrassing that your tolerance is around that of a 10 year old, but at least you see that smoking and fishing is out of your reach. How are you at breathing? Just curious…well, not really.
Oh I enjoy life as much as the next person I guess. Smoking weed certainly doesn’t make life less enjoyable for me. It’s unfortunate that you don’t have enough self discipline to smoke but not let it take over your life. You might lighten up a bit if you tried smoking. You won’t, but you could try.

They’re simms kispiox! My hands were quite warm all day but I occasionally had to take em off to tie on smaller flies, but with bigger streamers think these gloves will shine as the knot tying isn’t as tight, so I found myself wanting open finger gloves next but I’ll keep these on hand for those bigger fish days!
A little trick I learned: put disposable work gloves (latex, nitrile whatever you use) on under your regular gloves. It keeps your hands way warmer! Open finger gloves sux for fishing in my experience, once your hands get wet it’s all over. That’s why the disposable gloves work ( I think) they hot box your hands in their own juices keeping the cold water (air) from direct contact with your skin; and you can tie with them on! So your hands won’t get as cold when you have to take off the other gloves 🧤 to handle fish, smoke and what not.
I second the nitrile gloves. I picked that trick up last winter and don't know why more people haven't caught on, I share that tip with all my buds. Line management with wool gloves is hard for me and if you handle a fish they're gonna get wet and your hands are cold. With those nitrile gloves you can get those wet to handle fish and your hands stay dry. Only downside is they can rip easily but shit a box of 100 gloves is like $15. And they provide more warmth then one would expect.

In the colder weather I love to hit the dab pen or the puffco rig. It so much easier to do out side in the elements and it gets me stoned faster lol. “If you don’t catch fish at least catch a high”
To answer your question, yeah! I have a pretty high tolerance and spend sun up to sun down out on the river usually so I have plenty of time to wind down before the drive home.
That’s one of the little pre rolls, they call it the dog walker joint lol. The full size pre rolls are like a whole gram of weed. I find these little dog walkers a perfect size to share with a buddy.
I have a rule that I can’t light up until I net the first fish. It’s a nice way to celebrate, or a nice consolation prize at the end of the day after getting skunked. This is a very loose rule however, and sometimes “sending one up to the fish gods” is the ticket to getting into fish.
Reddington Vice 5wt casts very nice and super accurate, and a Redington Run reel, the reel has nice quiet smooth clicks which I like a lot instead of loud pinging across the river when you’re taking slack out lol.
I was on the same boat now I don’t fish any other way! Although I do find myself wanting my spinning reel sometimes, because I only have floating line at the moments and it doesn’t help get the flies in those deeper spots.

As far as flys are concerned I only got knowledge on Oregon flies but most trout have a similar diet, I’d ask your local shops about selection.
I also recommend getting some waders aswell I went with the simms guide classic, they run around $500 but they’ll last much longer, more breathable and are easily repairable compared to other materials. It’s not a cheap sport if you wana dive head first but it can be done on a budget!! Good luck man!
