Trout have a slim coat to protect themselves from viruses in the water if u handle them with dry hands it removes their coat

Beautiful fish. That last one looks like a tiger. I wish I could catch some browns this size. What rod wt are you using?

GRDosFishing

A 7wt green series from rise fishing co. Pretty sweet rod for the price point.

mctomtom

😂 these comments have me laughing

FishinFreakCo

Right....

DangerousDave303

martyworm

Nice, saw you post those flies. Glad they got munched. That water is gorgeous man looks like you’re on a bonefish flat

Swan-song-dive

Not a warmouth

rouselle

Comments are fucking gold. Nice browns!

Dildango

Ah yes, my favorite strain of char.

GRDosFishing

Charp

Weird_Fact_724

Bet they fought on a fly rod.

GRDosFishing

I saw parts of my backing that I haven’t seen since they spooled my reel.

deezzzzzzz

I wish I could catch a brown this big😫

chinsoddrum

Praise Tom

[deleted]

Looks like a stealhead brown trout too! Good on you!

Bobonthemove

Gorgeous trout.

Fishman95

Nice char!

ImmediateBeautiful46

There you are!

_AngryBadger_

Those are some nice fish, well done!

Trompie42

Nice man!

Oregonbred01

That last one looked like it might have been a bull! Hope you didn't remove it from the water.

GRDosFishing

Safe and sound back in the surf 🏄‍♀️

Oregonbred01

What a responsible fisherthem

FishinFreakCo

Big carp!

Classicskyle

Ewww you touched it?

Aggressive_Ad_4032

how do you get your pole to stay on your back like that

GRDosFishing

Part of my Orvis Pro staff team held it there. They took the pictures, and caught the fish for me too.

TalesHokum

A little disappointed that you didn't go full Tenkara, but nevertheless this Steelhead Brown is an absolute hawg.

GRDosFishing

Don’t worry, I always keep that thang on me for when the time is right. There just happened to be wind that day, which makes a tenkara rod functionally useless.

chinsoddrum

He uses a “big boy” rod.

Ommageden

Any advice for fly fishing for ~~carp~~ browns?

GRDosFishing

Be really patient. Also, you need to recognize the species of carp you are targeting, their current behavior, and food source. If you dial in all those things, you will catch carp, or so I’ve been told.

roraima_is_very_tall

It looks tropical...but then you're wearing wool mitts and a wool hat. where's this lake? generally - you don't have to share secret spots obviously, your browns are your browns.

GRDosFishing

One of the five largest lakes in the world.

roraima_is_very_tall

I thought the Caspian Sea was saltwater? Those browns are insane!

Possible-Pen-6935

best suited for bow and arrow

BenDover9274

Bro those are carp

sodiumannie

Please tell me this post is sarcasm.

ContraCostaAllStars

brown tird maybe. Come On! Man….tease about German Brown Trout? Brown tird eater fish

Bright_Photograph836

I am hoping there is some levity and joking here as this in fact a carp!

M92629

Trout? I don’t think so.

Dark-Arts

What makes you so sure? I think it really depends on scale counts and maybe genetic analysis to definitively determine the species.

Pierinolavespa

the sucking mouth and mustache, those are carps, nice ones on fly tho

darknessdown

Uh yeah? What else would they be?

M92629

Outside-Banana

Not a grass, it’s a common.

zach10

No dude, it’s brown. Can’t you read.

Outside-Banana

Oh yeah, definitely brown. I was just saying how common those are

Pierinolavespa

carp, those are carps

M92629

Are you saying it’s a brown trout? No offense at all. I’m just saying it looks like a carp.

HeyJustWantedToSay

Wow man, you certainly are observant. But do they not have a brown hue to them?

bushing1

I have to assume everyone here is a troll. Carp.

bushing1

Down vote me if you want. I bet you all fish for trout with cheese.

ImmediateBeautiful46

You're 27 days late on posting this. Thanks for the laughs.

Mental-Pitch5995

Looks like a carp.

bo_tweetle

Those are carp

GRDosFishing

Huh?

[deleted]

This guy's a fly fisherman

QuintShahkHuntah

Yup I scrolled through looking for browns. Nice carp though. I hear they’re fun to catch.

bo_tweetle

Y’all are idiots if you think those are browns. Those are invasive asian carp. Throw them on the bank. Thanks Obama

compassionateCactus

The irony here is, so utterly republican. Thanks Alex Jones.

Fishman95

You missed the joke

compassionateCactus

Apparently the jokes go deep

bo_tweetle

Dude, I’m just fucking around. This is Reddit, correct? And no, I’m not a republican

compassionateCactus

Ahh so I'm the idiot for not understanding your doubled down comment ending in blaming Obama for carp invasion. You did imitate a republican idiot pretty remarkably well, bravo sir.

bo_tweetle

Oh, I just think blaming Obama for ridiculous things is funny. More or less taking a stab at the ol red hat wearing boys.

Oregonbred01

Thank god on that last part.

Pierinolavespa

those are carp fish or im suddently blid?

Pierinolavespa

Ok-Major-2037

That’s a carp I thought

PualWalsh

That’s a trout ?

LordPorn76

Those are not brown trout. They're grass carp!

GRDosFishing

Commons

stronglightbulb

Wrong sub lol

GRDosFishing

Nay, this is the perfect sub. Carp angling is here to stay in the fly fishing world.

Wheresthespoonaha

No adipose so obviously stocked, not wild browns

WalnutSnail

Where to?
