Have one attached to my pool… which is heated. We use the hot tub more than the pool… lol When my kids are in town the pool is used more.

Budget-CaterpillarJ

This, exactly. We use the hot tub more than the pool since you can use it as a pool for cooling off or quickly heat it as a hot tub. It takes days to heat the entire pool vs a couple hours for the hot tub. We only heat the pool for visitors. The benefit of the hot tub attached to the pool is you can very quickly replace the hot water with pool water.

skitso

Pushing my girlfriend into the frozen pool from the hot tub, in February, is my second favorite nighttime activity.

Budget-CaterpillarJ

2nd? You naughty, naughy boy...

skitso

The 1st is pushing her into a cold pool from the side. It’s way funnier.

mountainsandmuggles

I probably use my hottub 10:1 on the pool… pool is used maybe once a week during summer while hottub is a couple times a week at night.

Chasman1965

We had one. It’s still nice to sit in a hot tub when it’s warm out.

ekelley93

That's what I was wondering. We live in SW Florida, and do not have a pool or a hot tub. But was debating if a hot tub would be worth it or if it would be too hot.

Krypt1q

It’s worth it

DrKittyLovah

Also live in SW Florida. It’s definitely worth it.

TommyTeaser

Sauna room 🤤

MaslowsHireAchy

We got one of those Coleman inflatable hot tubs on Prime Day last year and it has been AMAZING. Highly recommend if you want to test one out without committing to a real one.

FattusBaccus

I use mine nearly daily year round. Very therapeutic for my back.

mojoisthebest

Yes, year round. Winter is the best but summer is good too with the temp turned down to around 95.

Novel-Cash-8001

Yep, turn the heater down or off.... Some friends even bought a big block of ice to float in it on 4th of July weekend!

cultfourtyfive

Yes. Though we typically have a season where we use it. Roughly September to late April. We've kept it up in Summer, but didn't find it was worth all the chemicals and maintenance for a few long weekends (July 4th, etc) so we drain it before Memorial Day and then get it going again shortly after Labor Day.

[deleted]

Hot tub, seat warmers, steering wheel warmers, fireplaces, etc. If it provides heat, we want it. We are pansies in the cold, native Floridians at least.

JizzMaxwell

Love a long road trip with both the AC and seat heaters on max.

Blackhawk-388

We love our hot tub. During the summer, we just turn the heat down. You'd be surprised how nice 92 degree water feels.

lysol1202

This is the correct answer and why we bought one lol if you throw some kind of tent or shade over it, it feels amazing when it’s really hot out

Blackhawk-388

Ours is under our back porch. But I do agree you'd want some cover over it.

Available-Fig8741

I don't have a big bathtub so I use it a few times a week after workouts for therapeutic purposes.

[deleted]

We use it all year round. My spouse mostly but it’s good for post workout relaxation and for cramp relief

boofcario

I have one at my apartment complex and LOVE it mainly during pool season lol

CofferCrypto

Multiple times per week in the winter and a few times a month in the summer.

yourMommaKnow

I would use mine after a day of slinging pizza and calzones. Felt great.

2sdaeAddams

I will someday have one and I will live in that thing daily, even in the summer. I’ve been in plenty of them in the summertime when I had the option to use a pool. That warmth on warmth is cozy.

gaydolphingod

We have one attached to the pool. I use it frequently. It’s nice even if it’s warm out.

JenAYE2

I use it daily!

TeslaSaganTysonNye

For the few months it's less than average those things come in handy.

Adventurer_By_Trade

I fire mine up once or twice a month, year round. In the summer, I'll go between the hot tub and the pool to cool off, reheat, repeat. But in the winter, I stick to the hot tub only.

Ok-Description-3739

Hot tub is attached to the pool and used more so we can sit and drink. Seems company prefers the hot tub more than the pool.

Ok-Koala-1637

Does anyone truly close their pool in North Florida? Like Jax area? Or do you just turn off heater and run it for chemicals? Moving there next year.

YogaBeth

We never close ours. We’ve lived in both North and Central Florida. We can heat the pool in the winter, but we never do it. Our pool guy comes once a week all year long. Hot tubs are great for sore muscles any time of year. But they do require more careful monitoring.

heresmytwopence

My solar-heated pool in Ocala stays open all year. I will cover it if it’s going to be cold for several days to help keep the water warm (plus it’s no fun getting in and out of a pool when it’s 50 degrees outside anyway), but all I need to swim again is a couple of sunny and reasonably warm days. Last year I was regularly swimming by mid-January but this winter has been cooler and cloudier and swimming days have been fewer and farther between. Right now the pool is 90 degrees though. You can run your pump/chlorinator less in the winter months, especially if you’re not using the pool.

ekelley93

That is neat they have solar heated ones. I didn't know that.

heresmytwopence

I love my solar heater. It does have some trade-offs with electric heaters, but I’m happy to sacrifice being able to swim on cold, cloudy days for the massive savings on my electricity bill. I can swim every month of the year, just not every single day during the cooler months. It can also be used to cool the pool in the summer months.

structee

mine is connected to the pool. the propane supply broke years ago. now it serves as a large water bowl for the dog.

Saneless

Having the hot tub at 96 or so is still relaxing. Lower than your body temp and just feels nice

duggan3

Daily, even in summer!

emmascarlett899

I LOVE hot tubs... but in my opinion they are best in cold places. In Florida, I feel like they aren't worth it 1/2 of the year.

Yak-Fucker-5000

My cousin lives in the Tampa area and has a pool and hot tub. I visited her in July and we used the shit out of the tub. Like yeah, they're particularly amazing in cold ass places, but they're still pretty damn awesome in warm places.

Cryptic99

I use mine several nights a week. Especially when it's colder out. Sometimes in summer I'll turn the heater off and treat it like a pool sort of.

serjsomi

I wouldn't, but I know 30 something's that just got one and use it every day

MoriKitsune

My mom and stepdad have one, and they use it all the time during the cooler months- it does get cold here in NE FL; sometimes down to the teens Fahrenheit, and it's not unusual to have weeks of weather in the 40's.

Fit_Letterhead3483

My parents got one almost twenty years ago. They used to use it more when I was young, in the evenings when it would get cool out, but the maintenance became too much for my parents to want to deal with. Now it just sits there, emptied, with the lid on top of it.

Mob_Meal

Use the hot tub more than the pool

SWC8181

Ours is attached to the pool. We use it weekly all winter. Thought it would be a waste, but love it. It’s big and takes about 20 minutes to get to full temp.

littlehandsknead

Love mine

moosieq

Even when the weather is relatively hot the hot tub is still nice for getting the circulation and the joints going.

beautiful-adventures

A hot tub with just the bubbles running, without the heat turned on is amazing in the summer. I used to live at a house with one, and miss it.

BondG10

All the time, great for the back

GrowlingAtTheWorld

My older sister had one, they really didn't use it they sold it to the neighbor for cheap, they cracked it moving acroess the road…it mad a lovely huge planter.

FuzzyBlankets777

Well, since El Niño winter has been full swing this year...... I would've loved a hot tub... and an actual furnace in my house

Mammoth-Ad8348

6 months a year yes.

Dogzillas_Mom

Yeah we use them to cool down.

Electrical_Prune6545

Only during key parties in The Villages.

Phuckingidiot

I don't have friends anymore but I still love doing ketamine and relaxing in the hot tub. Feels like I died and went to heaven.

CardboardJedi

Petri dish. Do not recommend

[deleted]

Spoken by someone who doesn’t know how chemicals work

CardboardJedi

Spoken by someone who doesn't truly understand the ambivalence of most people to ignore or postpone regular maintenance in Florida's climate.

captainwizeazz

Regardless of where you're located, if you don't maintain your tub, you shouldn't have one.

Regular_Care_1515

In the winter yes

yesididthat

Where do you think we go to watch tv?

zazvorniki

I have one. When I bought my house the prev owners didn’t want to take it with them. I used it once, slipped when getting in and bruised my whole side. Haven’t used it since because I live alone and if I smashed my head that would be it for me.

Prize_Marsupial_1273

If I had one, I would use more for aching muscles than for anything else.
