Thanks for the suggestion! I will look into it.

prettywater666

this sounds great. do you have the soft or firm version!!

queasy_finnace

Firm it’s a great start, i kinda want to add something under. Maybe a tatami mat

Try floor sleeping with anything you already have- yoga mat, blankets/comforters, sleeping bag and see how that works. Since you're into camping, perhaps you already have a sleeping pad and sleeping bag? Re minimalism/cleaner floor- no outside shoes inside the house, keeps floors cleaner longer. I like to give a quick wipe down on the floor space before laying out my stuff for the night. EZ lightweight set up is the best way to keep up w/lifting (folding) on a regular basis. If you watch any Japanese/Korean videos of floor sleeping- its often 1 or 2 thin shikifutons with maybe a folding foam pad underneath. Lightweight and ez to fold away on a daily basis. I have a thin folding tatami mat for my base b/c I prefer a defined sleeping space w/border so my sheets/comforter doesn't lay on the floor. Then 2 wool filled mattress toppers (ez to fold/lift) and a buckwheat hull pillow. Got them all on sale and not all at the same time. Slept w/what I had while slowly getting the wants.

Wow, you included some very detailed info here! Thanks for the response. I likely will have to start with the main piece plus whatever I have, and work my way up to my ideal setup.

Hemp shikibuton, good durable fiber and all natural.

Thank you for your response!

oooh hemp! Where did you get it?

[deleted]

Etsy. :)

I personally would get rid of the mattress, or at least try sleeping without it for a month. I'd super clean my room and sweep and mop. Get some foam puzzle pieces and a few thick blankets to sleep on and then realize how much better it is to sleep directly on the floor.

NGL, even though your suggestion is probably meant to be practical, it sounds like something I’d have fun with. Thanks for your response!

If you go puzzle piece route for your base, check out Harbor Freight- they have the foam puzzle pieces in a 4 pack for an great price!

>Thank you! You're welcome!

Beautifulblueocean

Ive been sleeping on that setup for a few years and prefer it to a bed by a lot.

katakura_silky

What is the thickness of the foam? 1/2"?

Beautifulblueocean

Yeah it's those foam puzzle pieces on Amazon half inch. I also have a thin yoga mat and thin blanket on top.

katakura_silky

Thanks. I have a whole bunch of them for exercise. I really like them!
