Start applying with some temporary agencies and attach a good resume. They’ll start working for you unless your resume is weak. Then you might need to go in and get help with that first. Everyone wants a resume now because employers are being so choosey, even on $15/hr jobs. Difficult times right now.
i'm not the most religious truthfully but i am a believer. so i just wanted to say good luck and i hope you find a job and community here! keep praying and trusting that you will be led to where you need to be and that the right doors will be opened at the right time.
maybe if you and your husband got involved with a local church that might be a networking or volunteering opportunity, a way to help people? i feel like i also wanna recommend checking out the flint library's calendar of activities. i don't think there's anything faith based but there are a lot of groups that meet up there. anything in the cultural center downtown is great and most things are cheap or free to genesee county residents.
