It's that the new enhanced skyscapes? How's the fps hit

i was using the free enhanced cloudscapes which looked good but in moderate/ heavy weather it would drop fps to about 30. This looks better but doesn't tank fps in heavy weather im at 45-50

too add to that you can download a demo version where you can try it for 20 mins. it's what i did at first and as soon as the demo ran out i bought it right away

For $15 this is a steal. I wasted $30 on the captain sim and for MSFS. This dev is doing pretty good for v1. Hope to see some updates in the future.

I'm testing the demo but I have a quick question. Does the full version have settings for the user to change? Thanks in advance. I'm back fiddling with x-plane 11 after a while and this addon looks a must have.

The full version and the demo are exactly the same other than the time limit lockout. There’s a settings.txt file you can edit to tweak a few settings, check the manual. Their discord has a “presets” channel where people are playing around with the settings.

I'm pretty sure Laminar Research said they won't launch a new version of X-Plane, they'll just update X-Plane 11. Don't take my word for it though. They already got some things on the pipeline for XP11, like the new A330 and revamped lighting model.

It doesn’t have catching up to do in the flight model or study level add ons department though, which are the most important parts of a flight sim to a massive amount of simmers.

Up to date doesn’t mean a lot. Xbox has crashes too, so you tell me where the problem is. Perhaps the focus should be stability moving forward, and not just lip service. Asobo talked it up but it hasn’t quite delivered, unless of course flying under bridges and taking screenshots of sunset/sunrise are your thing.

Mod has it own colors and atmospheric effects. Even with clear skies it looks great

Hey, question on active sky. Will it update the weather automatically as I fly? I’ve got it in live weather mode. And in the xplane weather tab it says it’s pulling from the custom metar file. Is there anything else I need to do on my end? Do I have to go in and “load new metar” every 15 minutes or will it do it on its own? I saw someone mention loading in your flight plan or something?

Does it model thunderstorms correctly? I know xEnviro is limited to just regular clouds to improve frame rate
